The Rivers state police command is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of a young man identified as Leonard Chika, in front of his girlfriend in the Mile 3 axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Friday, May 15.
A Facebook user, Ezebunwo Ichemati, who shared the story online, wrote,
Another promising innocent life have been cut short this morning the 15th day of May 2020, in a mistaken identity hit that occurred this morning in the mile3 axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt.
What started about 5weeks ago as a minor battle for who takes matching ground rites from traders has gradually grown into a full blown cult war amongst two major cult groups in the heart of Mile3 Diobu, with both sides counting human loss.
The Rivers State police command especially the Mile3 divisional police station, cannot feign ignorance to the cult related killings numbering about 4 and the recent killing of this innocent young man named leonard Chika making it a total of 5 people murdered in cold blood in the streets of Mile3 Diobu.
The deliberate silence and inactions of the Rivers State police command have emboldened these daredevils that outside attacking their rivals, they also go in a looting spree and carry out destruction of people’s properties when on any mission.
Leo was a friend and a very hardworking young man who doesn’t mind doing anything to earn a living no matter how belittling as long as it is legal. Today in the presence of his girlfriend those who cannot give life shot and killed him in cold blood.”
Spokesperson of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident, said efforts are being made to arrest the suspected killers.
“Unknown gunmen killed him. We were able to identify him and then he was taken to the mortuary. Investigation has commenced and all hands are on deck to arrest the killers.
Preliminary investigations suggest it was a cult clash but we cannot lend credence to that until our investigation is concluded.” Omoni said
These days, it’s become commonplace for some social media users to beckon on their favourite celebrity to indulge in “online giveaways” — a request that can be prompted if said celebrity makes social media update.

Some of these celebrities actually revert and “bless” some of them but when a fan tried to stylishly ask veteran thespian, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde to partake in such, the actress also “stylishly” declined the offer.
Omotola had a chat session with her followers on microblogging platform, Twitter earlier and one of her followers thought it an opportunity to ask for “palliatives” from the actress.
Omotola certainly wasn’t digging the follower’s vibe and so she quickly shut him down before the intensity of the vibration increases and extends to other people.
Here’s how the actress responded to the follower below,

BBNaija’s Tacha has praised singer Falz, for reaching out to the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammed Babandede on behalf of the five female officers who participated in the viral #BopDaddyChallenge.
The entertainer who is also a Lawyer, yesterday, reached out to the NIS boss asking him to reconsider the terms of punishment meted out to five female officers of the Service.
Tacha in a recent tweet lauded the Nigerian artiste for dropping his mic and putting on his lawyer wig again for the sake of his fans who were queried and redeployed.
Her tweet below;
Falz coming through for the 5 ladies that NIS punished for doing the “Bop DaddyChallenge” is one of the best things I have seen in a while. He dropped his mic and put on his Lawyer wig for his fans! we LOVE to see it.
His letter to the Comptroller-General, Muhammed Babandede read in part;
“Recent news surrounding five female officers of yours who came under fire for featuring in a fun video online has particularly caught my attention.
“The said ladies were pictured changing from their official uniforms into casual outfits while my music was playing in the background.
“Immoral behaviour’ ‘Sabotage’ & ‘Any other act unbecoming of a public officer’ were the offences levelled against them as they were alleged to have caused ‘a lot of embarrassment to the NIS.’
“Consequently, I have also learnt that the Service has decided to post these officers to remote areas of the country as a punitive measure. The Senior Staff Posting Order dated 12th May 2020 stated that the posting be ‘at no cost to the service’ and be done ‘on or before 19th May 2020’.
“As a terribly concerned citizen, I am writing to you a second time as my initial attempt to reach you via text/WhatsApp was met with no response.
“The Public Service Rules which guide the operations of the Immigration Service state that any senior officer seeking to be posted or transferred must submit an application for such transfer listing his or her reasons for desiring such transfer (Chapter 2 Rule 020503).
“The Public Service Rules also state that ‘Officers on posting, transfer or on assumption of duty on new appointment at their new station, different from their city/town of domicile shall be entitled to transport fare for self… In addition, they shall be eligible for hotel accommodation for the first 28 days or an allowance for the first 28 days in lieu of hotel accommodation (Chapter 13 Rule 130105).
“Had the posting been in order, the seven-day time frame accorded the officers would have been an impossible one as inter-state travel is currently prohibited.
“In the light of the above, I respectfully request that you further reconsider the decision to post these officers.
“It is important that we continue to breed a strong sense of solidarity particularly during these trying times. Hopefully, we can defeat this pandemic together.”
In response to the letter Falz wrote to NIS, the redeployment of the 5 female officers has since been suspended.
The Federal Government on Friday, May 15, pleaded with COVID-19 survivors to stop giving details of the drugs used for their treatment to discourage self-medication.
The Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mr. Boss Mustapha, made the plea at a press briefing in Abuja, following recent video testimonies of some high profile survivors, talking about the drugs administered on them at the treatment centres.
Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, expressed concern that some of the testimonies disclosing the prescription for treatment of the virus could encourage patients to indulge in self-medication instead of seeking help from health authorities.
He urged all Nigerians that have symptoms of COVID-19 to test for the virus and, if positive, go into the isolation centres for care by experts.
Mustapha said: “The PTF congratulates and appreciates the testimonies of Nigerians who have recovered from COVID-19, which has given us more insights and further strengthens the need to adhere strictly to guidelines issued.
“However, an emerging issue from all these testimonies is the issue of prescription for treatments. We should always remember that the symptoms of COVID-19 mimic some illnesses we already know but treating the symptoms is not the same as treating the virus. For this reason, we strongly discourage self-medication.”
He also said that five states in Nigeria were currently participating in the on-going World Health Organization (WHO)-coordinated solidarity trial to find a cure for the pandemic, saying that at the end of this trial, relevant health authorities would make statements on acceptable drugs for treating COVID-19.

Have you ever have air hunger , looking for air to breath but it seems far away… and my heart beat was out of control. That was how I was from 25th April to 2nd May, 2020. That was the severe type of COVID-19. My case was critical but God was there, He preserved and kept me as always.
This is summary of my COVID-19 experience
I was exposed, I went on self Isolation for 14 days, Within those 14 days, I got tested, my result came out on 27 th April , 2020, I was called by NCDC representative to get my things ready. I never had symptoms until 16 day when I noticed I couldn’t breath I have to sit all through the night.
Due to NCDC late response, I was evacuated the 3rd day with worsening cases to the first Isolation centre in Lekki. The next day, I was dying but thank God for my Friend, Lola who raised alarm( I never knew we were in the same centre until that morning).I was placed on Oxygen and transferred to Yaba Isolation Centre. While admitting me, I was told by the Doctor that if my condition worsen, I will be transferred to ICU,Intensive Care Unit. Thank God, I never went there.
I was on Oxygen for 5 days, but God delivered me on the six day. I read about a study that if you lie prone, that is lying on your stomach with head of the bed raised, helped patients with COVID-19 who has breathing problem recover fast so I did it and it helped me sleep better if not, I have to sit down throughout the night. Also, some breathing exercises helped me a lot to inflate my lungs, I spent 17 days in Isolation centre, I was discharged yesterday, 14th May, 2020 having tested Negative.
I sincerely want to appreciate the Love of my life, Samuel Peter, my Love for the part he played in speeding up my transfer to Yaba, his prayers strengthened my faith to hold on despite death knocking on my path, You’re one in a billion. Some guys would have disappeared at the mention of COVID-19…kikikikk…Lol

According to a report by The Nation, a 20-year-old woman, Abiola Komolafe, has narrated how her one-month-old son was sold to a child trafficking syndicate by her aunt, shortly after she was delivered of the child in Onitsha, Anambra State.
Komolafe was paraded alongside 182 suspects by the Delta State Police Command in Asaba, for crimes ranging from terrorism, robbery, kidnap, murder, cultism and child trafficking.
The state police commissioner, Hafiz Inuwa said the child trafficking syndicate specialises in trafficking young pregnant girls and selling their babies.
Inuwa disclosed that the gang was uncovered following a diligent investigation by his men.
According to the CP, the syndicate comprised three women who are assigned to trick young pregnant girls to Onitsha to deliver babies who are in turn sold, while the young mothers are deceived to believe their babies died during delivery.
Inuwa said: “In the course of investigation, Tolulope Bosede confessed that she tricked Abiola Komolafe from Akure to Onitsha, where she successfully gave birth to a baby boy. But she later took the baby from her and sold him to Mrs Nkaneme Melife,37, in Onitsha, while she lied to the mother that the baby died some hours after delivery.”
“The buyer, Mrs Nkaneme Melife, also later sold the child to another buyer, Mrs Ekunno Ifeyinwa, 56, of Onora family house Abba village, Onitsha. Meanwhile, the two buyers have been arrested along with one Josephine Unnoha and the stolen child recovered.”
The police boss added that the arrest of members of the syndicate led to the recovery of another two weeks old male child suspected to have been stolen by Mrs Ekunno Ifeyinwa.
Speaking with The Nation, Komolafe, said her ordeal started after she lost her parents and was forced to live with her aunt in Akure, Ondo State.
She explained that she trained as hair stylist and make up specialist after her secondary school education.
She said she became pregnant for her lover who bolted afterwards, leaving her in a quandary.
She said: “My aunt promised to take me to a woman in Onitsha, who would assist me by giving her a nanny’s job and support my unborn child. I believed her because she was nice to me after I lost my parents, following which she accommodated me in her house in Akure.
”Shortly after I got to Onitsha, I gave birth at a hospital but I was told that my child died during delivery.”
She said she was crestfallen due to the loss of her son, but never suspected any foul play.
She said on the way back to Akure, the driver of the commercial bus she boarded informed her that he overheard her aunt and another woman haggling the price of a baby boy, and inquired whether it was her baby that was referred to.
“As we were going back to Akure , the driver inquired if I had just given birth because she overheard my aunt and another woman haggling the price of a baby boy. I told the driver that I had just given birth but was told my baby died.
“I begged him (the driver) to drive into any police station for proper investigation on my missing child. As we drove into Asaba, Delta State, the driver pulled into a petrol station to buy fuel and raised the alarm that attracted police on guard duty at the filling station and the suspects were arrested.”
She said her aunt does not wish her well and she does not feel any sense of betrayal by informing the police.
She expressed joy that her son had been recovered, and commended the police for acting with despatch to recover her son.
Komolafe’s aunt, Mrs Tolulope Bosede pleaded for mercy. She blamed her action on the devil.
Meanwhile, Komolafe said she would stay back in Asaba to rearrange her life once again: “I will not go back to Akure. I will find a job in Asaba as a hair stylist and earn a living to fend for my son.”
