Former Lagos state gubernatorial candidate, Babatunde Gbadamosi has cautioned ”online beggars” to stop sending him messages to demand that he gives them his hard-earned money amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Gbadamosi took to his Twitter handle to issue the stern warning and told those asking him to do giveaways, to take their financial problems to the current leaders they voted for.
A Nigerian lady, identified as Elenora Paul, has slammed Nigerians for making ‘stupid’ things go viral on social media.
She made reference to the popular prophet, Odumeje and how Nigerians have been making caricature of his statement -Indaboski, pahoze’.

There was pandemonium at a recently held wedding ceromony as a couple and their wedding guest took to their heels following a disruption by COVID-19 taskforce.
The wedding was disrupted because the couple breached the rules of social distancing imposed by the government due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the video shared online, the wedding ceremony was still ongoing when the COVID-19 taskforce officials walked into the church while guests immediately took to their heels to avoid being arrested.
The couple who were at the altar at the time the officials stepped into the church were seen walking out of the church while the pastor was confronted by the Task force officials.

In the latest update of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, 338 new cases have been reported as of Sunday evening, May 17th by the National Centre for Disease Control.
In a new update on their Twitter page, the NCDC reports that there’s new cases in Lagos, Kano, FCT, Rivers, Plateau, Oyo, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna, Abia, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Ondo, Kebbi and Sokoto.
The Lagos State government says it is considering a full re-opening of the critical sectors of its economy.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclosed this today when he spoke at a briefing after the State’s Security Council meeting held at the State House in Marina.
According to the governor, the State Government would be rolling out the Register-to-Open initiative as part of the plans that would enable it to assess the level of readiness of the players in the identified sectors for supervised operations. The governor said officials from the Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC) and Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) will be visiting restaurants, companies, religious houses to assess their level of readiness.
With the size of the State’s economy and numbers of businesses that operate in its domain, the Governor said the Government could not afford to keep people and businesses on lockdown permanently.
“We are at a level where we are reviewing the other arms of the economy. In the coming days, we will be starting what we call Register-to-Open, which means all players in the restaurant business, event centres, entertaiment, malls and cinemas will go through a form of re-registration and space management.
“There is a regulation that will be introduced to supervise this move. We will be coming to their facilities to assess their level of readiness for a future opening. I don’t know when that opening will happen in the weeks ahead, but we want these businesses to begin to tune themselves to the reality of COVID-19 with respect to how their workspaces need to look like.
“For us, it is not to say they should re-open fully tomorrow or any time; there has to be a process guiding the re-opening. We will be mandating LASEPA and Safety Commission to begin the enumeration process and the agencies will be communicating with all relevant businesses and houses in the days ahead. I must, however, caution that this should not be misinterpreted as a licence for full opening; it is certainly not. The State’s economy is not ready for that now.” he said
He added that the Government agencies also would be visiting places of worship to evaluate their level of preparedness ahead of full reopening. He stressed that social distancing and hygiene would be fully considered in determining whether mosques and churches can re-open in the future.
“We are reviewing and considering how the phased unlocking will happen. If we see huge level of compliance, then it can happen in the next two to three weeks. If not, it could take a month or two months. It is until we are sure all of these players are ready to conform to our guidelines,” the Governor asserted.
He urged businesses, religious houses, and residents to maintain the status quo while the State works out modalities for full re-opening.
The Governor disclosed that all the 10 staff of the Government House who tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) had fully recovered and returned to their beats. He said the disclosure was necessary to further promote transparency in the reporting and management of coronavirus cases by the State Government.
He enjoined banks and markets to strictly enforce orderliness in their premises. He directed that elderly people must be given the priority to transact their businesses in banks and markets between 9am and 10:30am, after which other younger customers should be allowed to transact.

15 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the isolation center in Lagos.
This was made know via a tweet shared by state Ministry of Health’s official Twitter handle.
According to the tweet, 9 females and 6 males, all Nigerians were discharged from the Yaba, LUTH & Agidingbi Isolation facilities today May 17.

The Police Command in Plateau State have apprehended the gunmen who reportedly killed a University of Jos lecturer, one Dr Nendi Drengkat.
The gunmen had attacked the University of Jos Staff Quarters on Friday night, shot dead Dr. Drengkat and kidnapped his 6-year-old daughter, Joanna Drenkat — then then called the family asking for N10 million ransom.
The state’s commissioner of police, Edward Chuka Egbuka who disclosed this on Sunday while parading the suspect at the state police command, also said the daughter of the killed lecturer and one other person were rescued during a gun duel with the kidnappers on the hills of Babale of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau.
“On 16/5/2020 at about 0030hrs, the Command received a distress call at road 6 University Senior staff quarters Jos where some hoodlums entered the house of one Dr. Nandi Drenkat ‘m’ a lecturer with the University of Jos where he was shot and his six years old daughter was kidnapped” the statement reads.
“Immediately the Command received the information, on the same date at about 0530 hours, a combined team of conventional police men, mobile men, operatives from anti kidnapping unit, vigilante group and hunters were deployed to the hilly areas where the kidnapped victim was suspected to have been kept, scene was thoroughly combed and in the process, the kidnappers were sighted on the hill and there was a gun duel between the operatives and the kidnappers.
In the process one of the kidnappers name Ali Mohammed ‘m’ of Narabi was shot on his right leg and was arrested with one AK 47 rifle with breach Number 1984/AP 0240, 29 rounds of live ammunition was also recovered from him. A kidnapped victim name Chiboze Joseph ‘m’ was rescued unhurt while other bandits fled with blood injuries. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. Case under investigation and will be charged to court as soon as possible.
“Furtherance to the incident above, the teams of operatives were relentless and at about 1600 hours they extended their search for the last kidnapped victim to Babale mountain, Jos north LGA and on sighting the combined teams,the hoodlums opened fire on them, the teams overpowered the hoodlums which led to the rescue of the kidnapped victim Joanna Drenkat ‘f’six years old unhurt. Manhunt for the fleeing suspect continues”

A new video circulating the internet shows the moment COVID-19 Task force officials bust into a wedding that was happening in a church in Cross Rivers state.
According to reports surrounding the video, the wedding that breached all rules of social distancing, with some guests seen without using face masks, was held at a branch of The Apostolic Church, Calabar, Cross River State.
The COVID-19 task force officials are seen making their way into the church while the event was going on but as soon as they were spotted by the guests, the guests took to their heels to avoid being arrested.
The bride and the groom who were still on the altar were later seen making their way out of the Church before the task force officials went to confront a man, supposedly the leader of the church.
27-year-old Ghanaian man, Derrick Amponsah, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a 15-year-old student and biting her clitoris, leaving her to bleed profusely after the act.
Ghanaian media reports that the incident took place at Manso Yawkrom in the Amansie West District of Ashanti Region.
Derrick was arraigned before the Bekwai Circuit Court. Police Prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Ofori, told the court that the suspect used his fingers, penis, and mouth to abuse the girl at about 11 a.m. on April 15, 2020.
The suspect pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and defilement. Both acts contravene Sections 84 and 101 respectively the of Criminal Offences Act, Act 29 of 960.
The presiding judge then sentenced him to 7 years imprisonment.
Social media has been in a frenzy with the news of a controversial and highly misplaced video on Facebook, made on the 9th of May, 2020, by a Facebook user, “Atheist Yanick Aka”, who is also the spiritual son of self- proclaimed “Prophet-Messenger and Light of the world, outside of whom none can be saved”, Prophet Kacou Philippe.
In the video, fanatical Atheist, Yanick Aka, negated the March 21st, 2020 prophecy of Billionaire Prophet, Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin; a prophecy predicting the gradual receding of the COVID-19 pandemic, that has since been confirmed in many countries. He said that the prophecy was not fulfilled, and that any evidence given to perpetuate the fact, was false.
Yanick went on to insult Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin as well as other critically acclaimed Men of God, calling them all sorts of names and making some disturbing accusations.

Prophet Gideon Isah started by reminding the general public that the prophecy made by his spiritual father, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin was very precise and had clearly stated that the pandemic would gradually start to end in 38 days, from country to country, “batch by batch”. He went on to say that his spiritual father even predicted the coming of the pandemic in 2014 and 2016, respectively. In the former, he had called it World War III and a time of mass death, unlike anything he had ever experienced; a term that was echoed 6 years later, by US President, Donald Trump. In the latter prophecy, he called it a worldwide disease that would take many lives.
Prophet Gideon Isah also invalidated the baseless claims of Yanick Aka that sought to defame the character of his spiritual father, showing evidence of how Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin has been a true father, provider and spiritual mentor to the flock that God has given him. He pointed out that Yanick Aka is only a psychopath and a puppet to his spiritual father and sponsor, Kacou Philippe, a highly controversial troublemaker who was convicted and imprisoned in 2016 for his misleading, satanic and mischievous practices, and subsequently banned from preaching in many countries, for 5 years.
The self- proclaimed “Prophet- Messenger” also has four children by four different women, and still had the nerve to get his puppet to point accusing fingers at other men of Faith, because he himself has been banned from continuing his Antichrist activities.
Prophet Gideon Isah sang the praises of his spiritual father and urged people not to be led astray by the lies of a messenger sent by the enemy of the Body of Christ.

Here’s the moment a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) captured seven thieves scaling a fence and breaking into homes to rob residents.
Though it is still unclear where the incident happened. Some say it happened in Abuja, in the early hours of Saturday, May 16. Others say it happened in Yola, Adamawa State.
In the video shared, the robbers are seen holding cutlasses as they scaled the fence one after the other.
