“I love you so much and I will see you soon, I promise” – Davido tells his daughter, Imade, as she turns 9

Davido tells

Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, also known as Davido, has taken to social media to celebrate his first child, Imade, as she turns a year older today, May 14.

The DMW boss, in a post shared via his Instagram story, assured her that he loves her very much and promised to see her soon.

His statement is worth noting because his first baby mama and Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu, has in recent times accused him of being a deadbeat father.

She claimed to have been single-handedly raising Imade because Davido allegedly took his hands off his responsibilities when she refused to succumb to some of his demands.

She even filed a cease and desist letter against the singer and his associates in January 2024 over accusations of cyberattacks, defamatory remarks, and threats towards her and her inner circle.

Imade’s 5th birthday party in 2020

The letter stated that Davido’s alleged actions are in direct violation of Sophia’s constitutional rights and ignored fundamental principles of decency and respect.

While the singer is yet to officially react to Sophia’s numerous accusations, his post shows the extent of his love for his daughter.

Davido posted a photo of Imade with the caption,

“Happy birthday to my First born child @realimadeadeleke
Just know daddy loves you so much !
And I will see you soon I promise!”

Why Infinix Note 40 is Nigeria’s Mid-Range Champion

The Nigerian smartphone market is becoming increasingly competitive, with several mid-range devices vying for consumer attention. Notable among them are the Infinix Note 40, Redmi Note 13, and Realme 11. Each brand brings its unique features to the table, striving to claim the title of mid-range champion by offering a balance of performance, design, and practicality. In this comparison, we will take a closer look at these devices and determine which one reigns supreme in a market where quality and functionality are highly valued.

Charging and Battery

Both Redmi Note 13 and Realme 11 maintain a standard with 5000mAh batteries and 33W fast charging. While they provide decent charging speeds, they lack the advanced technology and convenience offered by Infinix’s innovative wireless charging capabilities. The Infinix Note 40 isn’t just equipped with a standard 5000mAh battery; it transforms the charging experience with 45W wired fast charging, which powers up the battery to 50% in just 19 minutes. Furthermore, Infinix elevates the charging game with a 20W wireless MagCharge system, supported by innovative magnetic accessories like the MagCase, MagPad, and MagPower, allowing for effortless charging.

Both the Redmi Note 13 and Realme 11 do not offer wireless charging, placing them a step behind Infinx Note 40 in technological innovation. The wireless charging of the NOTE 40 isn’t just about power; it’s about convenience and ease, allowing users to charge their devices effortlessly. These features are particularly advantageous in Nigeria, where power fluctuations are common, making fast and reliable charging essential.

At a time when other phone brands like Apple and Samsung are progressively eliminating chargers from their packaging, Infinix’s approach undoubtedly wins consumers’ favour.

Design/Display:

With its 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED display, the Infinix Note 40 offers a visually stunning experience, enhanced by a high refresh rate that guarantees smooth scrolling and superior responsiveness. The slim bezels and sophisticated design of the Infinix Note 40 surpasses Redmi Note 13’s 6.67-inch display and the even smaller 6.43-inch screen of the Realme 11, as they fail to maximize the visual impact in the way Infinix Note 40 does.

Camera

The Infinix Note 40’s camera setup is another area where it truly outshines the pack. While the Infinix Note 40 and Redmi Note 13 may share a similar 108MP main camera specification, the Infinix takes a definitive lead with its superior front camera—a 32MP sensor that captures wider, clearer, and more detailed selfies compared to the Redmi’s 16MP and Realme’s 8MP front cameras. This difference is not just in numbers; the quality of selfies and front-facing videos significantly enhances user experience, making the Infinix Note 40 the preferred choice for vloggers and selfie lovers. Additionally, the higher aperture and sensor size on the Infinix ensures better low-light performance and depth in photos, which the Redmi and Realme struggle to match.

The Realme 11, with its 64MP main camera, appears almost antiquated in comparison, lacking both the resolution and advanced features that Infinix users enjoy. It’s clear that when it comes to camera capabilities, Infinix isn’t just playing in the same league; it’s defining it.

OS

While the Redmi Note 13 and Realme 11 offer stable experiences with Android 13, they miss out on the significant advancements that Android 14 brings to the Infinix Note 40. The Infinix Note 40 stands out with the latest Android 14 operating system, complemented by the customized XOS 14 interface.
For Nigerian users, the advancements in Android 14 could mean more efficient data management, which is crucial due to the varying internet speeds and costs of data. Additionally, Android 14’s improved power efficiency features, help users to maximize their device’s battery life.

The Infinix NOTE 40, with its newer OS, may offer a slightly longer lifespan in terms of receiving future Android updates. This aspect is crucial for Nigerian users who prefer devices that remain current with the latest software for more extended periods.

Verdict

In summary, while the Redmi Note 13 Pro has gained attention in the mid-range market, the Infinix NOTE 40 clearly leads the pack. It prioritizes essential features that resonate deeply with users—like rapid 45W wired and 20W wireless magnetic charging, alongside a premium design that sets it apart. The Infinix NOTE 40 is designed for efficiency and convenience, surpassing its competitors who still cling to more traditional, slower charging methods. It does not burden users with superfluous features but instead presents a streamlined, premium design that is both functional and stylish, clearly setting it apart from the crowd. With its well-rounded offering, it takes the crown as a midrange killer without any real weaknesses.

“Imagine your man coming on Facebook and having bǝǝr parlour conversations like washing machine is for lazy women” – Social activist writes as she lists her greatest fear in marriage

A social activist who identifies as @OmaJim on Facebook has shared a long list that contains her greatest fear in marriage.

The lady started by sharing that one of her greatest fears is to be with an unintelligent insecure man with low self-esteem.

According to her post, it is quite difficult to find the man of her choice because a large percentage of Nigerian men are the same.

Her post read;

“One of my greatest fear in relationship and marriage is to be with an unintelligent insecure man with low self-esteem.

This combination is a gift from the devil himself.🤣
Unfortunately 8 out of 10 Nigerian 30+ men are like this… 🤣
When they see your post about not wanting certain things in a relationship, they feel angry because they know that post is actually for them.
A man that cannot express himself so he feels threatened by you that can express yourself better.
A man that can’t hold a good conversation.
A poor man…
I hope you know there is a huge difference between being poor and being broke?
Yes… I avoid poor men because everything about them will center around the trauma of lack and poverty even when they are millionaires.
Imagine being with someone who is not bright and they will be claiming “I’m the man, don’t correct me, I know what I’m doing… you’re trying to control me…”
Imagine your man in public arguing like an illiterate because he doesn’t read, his head is empty…
Imagine being with a man that doesn’t think properly,
Imagine your man coming on Facebook and having beer parlour conversations like washing machine is for lazy women…
Like conversation and opinions that only very daft, poor and uneducated people can hold, opinions that when people hear they will go to one corner and laugh at you…
And people would be like “is this what Oma finally ended up with?”

“Must you talk” – Actor Kevin Ikeduba quizzes men who k!ss and tell (VIDEO)

Popular Nigerian actor Kevin Ikeduba has in a recent video he posted on his Instagram page shunned men who kiss and tell.

The veteran actor told men to desist from pointing out women they have been with adding that there is no award for it.

In Kevin’s opinion men who brag about the number of women they have been with are kissing and telling.

He also added that men and other ladies who behave in such a manner, need to stop it, because it is not a nice thing to do.

The actor said;

“The bible said he without sin cast the first stone which means all of us are sinners, all of us including me Kevin, nobody is a saint, and nobody is more holy. But you see in this life it is not good to know too much and do too much. I am making this video for guys who do too much and say too much, the guys I am talking about are does who kiss and tell, must you let the whole world know you have slept with a particular girl some of the guys who even do this have never slept with that particular girl before, but they will give people the impression that they have had their way with her must you talk. Have you received any awards for sleeping around? How many people have clapped for you? What have you gained from all these you are doing? The ones you have been with and the ones you have not been with you would lie that you have slept with them all. You don’t need to tell the whole world what you do or what your experience with people is.[sic]”

Vee reacts

Big Brother Naija star Victoria Adeyele, better known as Vee, has responded after her co-star Isilomo criticized her outfit at the AMVCA show held over the weekend.

Isilomo, who participated in the 2019 edition of the BBNaija reality TV show, took to social media to share her opinion about outfits worn by celebrities to the award show, including Vee’s.

Vee reacts

Regarding Vee’s dress, she described it as a ‘hot mess’ and rated it 2/10. She also asserted that the stylist did a poor job with cheap fabric.

She shared Vee’s photo on her page and wrote,

“Oh girl… a hot mess 2/10. So ill fitting and so poorly made. Cheap fabric. Wonna fight the stylist and the designer for doing this to this girl”

Well, Vee evidently spotted Isilomo’s review of her outfit on social media and didn’t hesitate to react.

Upon seeing the tweet he made about her, Vee replied to him by saying “And I’m sure all 11 of us wouldn’t want you.” ICYMI, read here

Woman cries uncontrollably after property her family bought in Lagos in February got demolished two months after (video)

Nigerian woman cries

A video of a Nigerian woman weeping uncontrollably over the demolition of her family property is currently circulating on social media.

In the viral clip, the woman revealed that her family had purchased the property in the Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos state in February 2024.

However, only two months later, it was marked for demolition by the government and subsequently demolished.

Nigerian woman cries

The woman, who was filmed crying her eyes out, lamented bitterly about losing the property only two months after moving in, and decried the amount spent on acquiring the property.

Her words,

“All the work, all the sleepless night, everything. If you are in Lagos, you will know how much properties in Eti-Osa cost. You know how much properties in Eti-Osa cost. Each time my son sees me crying, he would always say Mummy you have been crying. How do I explain to my son? What do I tell my children? This is very painful. I don’t wish anybody a thing like this. I don’t wish anybody to work so hard, so tireless and face something like this. I don’t”

This follows the Lagos state government’s recent move to demolish properties constructed on waterways in the state.

Some buildings were also demolished to facilitate the construction of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.

To this, the husband of Judy Austin responded by tagging the singer in his post on Instagram. He persuaded Davido not to give in to his enemies’ wishes by giving up.

Yul praised him for being a blessing to the country, and the continent and beseeched him not to stop entertaining the public. He wrote:

“Retire for who?
Retire cos of trolls?
When God made you great?
Trolls will always troll great people.
Great people, steady making headlines.
You’re a blessing to Nigeria, to Africa.
Keep giving us hits.
Losers will never stop hating.
Tell them, DIA FADA!

BOMBARDIER!!

@davido”.

Remember not long ago, Yul Edochie had advised artiste Wizkid on his Twitter tirade, claiming he knows what is wrong with the music icon to the chagrin of netizens.

“Having mood swings during period is demon!c, marry a peaceful woman” – Pastor Lazarus gives his take on the woman anatomy

Apostle Femi Lazarus has dared to take a snipe at the female gender in his recent online teaching which is currently circulating the internet.

He in the video was seen addressing men to be wary of women who hide under the guise of seeing their monthly flow to behave badly.

This he had called demonic, meaning it is unnatural and influenced by the devil. He went ahead to cite examples of women in the Bible who were supposedly peaceful and submissive to their husbands.

Pastor Lazarus’ advice to men to marry peaceful women was left not unopposed by women who expressed their displeasure over the comment the pastor made against them.

Read some of the comments below,

@Precious Kohas Nzubechukwu: Mood swing during menstrual flow doesn’t mean someone is not peaceful… It’s more like a down moment engineered by pain. This is mostly common among women that cramp during their flow. No one, not even men have themselves together 365 days in a year and that doesn’t mean they aren’t peaceful people.

@Chi Chi Prisca: So the Bible should have narrated where Esther was having menstrual pain or when she had discomfort that comes from menses. Ndi pastors rest for woman matter, una no get vagina and uterus, zuonike🙄🌝🌝

@Chika Victor: Ha! Very soon Una go say women dey f.ake p.ains during childbirth.

@Elsie Ihunde: The real you is coming out 😂 I remember telling my friend that I don’t trust this man. You know NOTHING about being a woman so kindly let us be Mr political correctness

What is your opinion on this issue, are women only being dramatic in their period or are actually sincere?

I have a colleague this happened to. She even got pregnant, and the man never reached her after he left Nigeria for Japan. His son is now 6 years old, and she cares for the child all by herself. Recently his siblings started supporting her. His family have begged and begged him to stop being childish and take care of the child, at least. Uncle said no. They have returned bride price back to the family of the man, so she can move on with her life. This is one of the nicest, simplest, and most hardworking woman I know. Very pretty, but because she refused to have sex before marriage, the guy went that far. After the wedding night, he told her, “Sebi, this is what you’re hiding, I went to make money and I have tasted it, and I’m going back. Chibuzor, wherever you are, you will experience pain and deceit. Just one sex changed her life forever!

“Take your first salary to your father for his blessings not to your pastor” – Actor, Kanayo.O.Kanayo tells youths as he blesses his son (WATCH)

Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has shared a contrary opinion to giving pastors your first salary, asserting a child’s first salary should be taken to his father for blessing in line with the Igbo culture.

The actor aired his opinion on Instagram in a video, using his son, Clinton Onyeze as an example after he had received his N50k income from a movie production.

Kanayo.O.Kanayo

Kanayo requested a ₦500 note while he blessed his son and prayed over the money. He noted that it is mandatory for a father to know his son’s earnings so he can teach him financial management.

However, a father can decide to collect a certain amount or the entire salary, depending on the individual. He also added that a father is superior to a pastor according to the Igbo culture.

Kanayo.O.Kanayo

He captioned the post,

“Take your first SALARY to your father for his blessings NOT TO YOUR PASTOR.
And to that Pastor who said it belongs to him in a video in January, did you ever consider, the feeding/ transportation to and fro the office for that month? Where is this in the Bible?
CHRISTIANS WAKE UP. This is not Christianity”

@prolactin_:  This allows for creativity tho, you can put whatever you want inside, beans, dodo, Yam, rice, ice-cream etc
