Male cross-dresser, James Brown made his intention of auditioning for Big Brother Naija season 5 known to reality star, Venita Akpofure.

29-year-old Mustapha Idris, has been arrested for killing his 20-year-old girlfriend, Nafisa Hashimu, who was three months pregnant for him.
According to Audu Jinjiri, the state police command spokesperson, Mustapha and Hashimu, a divorcee, were live-in lovers at Daneji village in the state. The deceased recently found out she was three-months pregnant and informed him in excitement. He however got angry and stabbed her to death. Her body was found in a bush at the outskirts of Daneji village about 22 kilometres from Ringim town.
When interrogated, Mustapha said he killed his girlfriend to avoid the shame of giving birth outside wedlock.
“I’m ashamed of how the society will see us after she delivers the unborn child out of wedlock, and thus I decided to terminate her life to stay away from shame,” he said.
The police spokesperson in Jigawa, Audu Jinjiri, said the corpse of the deceased was found in her pool of blood in a bush at the outskirts of Daneji village about 22 kilometres from Ringim town.
Mr Jinjiri said police preliminary investigation found that the late Ms Hashimu was a divorcee, adding that she was certified dead by a medical doctor and released to relatives for burial.
The suspect would be charged to court to face the wrath of the law, the police spokesperson said.
No fewer than three persons including a boy were burnt to death in the pipeline explosion that erupted in the Abule Egba area of Lagos state. It was gathered that the explosion was due to the activities of vandals who allegedly ruptured the pipeline in a bid to steal fuel.
Three persons were lost to the fire outbreak. Two of them, male drivers, were said to have just returned from a trip and were sleeping inside their trailers when the explosion occurred.
The deceased boy among them was reportedly inside one of the nearby shops sleeping with his parents when the fire had started. He reportedly ran for safety when he noticed what was happening but unfortunately, he didn’t make it out alive.
All the three dead bodies were evacuated into a Lagos State Emergency Health Service pick-up van to be deposited at the morgue.
Not more than 10 houses were destroyed alongside the pipeline.

A pipeline belonging to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, in Abule -Egba area of Lagos State, is currently on fire after it exploded this evening.
According to reports, several properties have reportedly been lost in the inferno.
It is believed that activities of pipeline vandals led to the explosion.
A 33-year-old woman, Gloria Tayelolu Bright has shared a traumatic experience how her waist beads stopped her master in Lebanon from r*ping her.
She narrated the story after she was recently rescued from slavery in Lebanon.
The Eruku-born single mother of two (a boy and girl) from Ekiti Council of Kwara State, said she kept her planned move to Lebanon a secret only to later find out she was being sold into slavery but luckily for her, a waist beads she had bought for fashion years ago, saved her from rape.
Gloria before being handed over to officers of the National Agency for Prosecution of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in Oshogbo, Osun State, on Thursday, told The Guardian in Ilorin that she had mistaken any trip abroad for “instant wealth and Eldorado.” She shared some of what she went through but withheld some due to the ongoing investigation of her case by NAPTIP.
She shared:
“When I bought my waist-beads some two years ago, I did so because of fashion. But do you know that the beads eventually saved me from the hands of those who lured me to the far Lebanon for slavery related endeavours?”
“I was linked up by a fellow who facilitated my movement to Lebanon sometime in October last year. The fellow dangled before me a teaching job of English language if I would go, even though my academic qualification is Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Accountancy.
“There was no nexus between what I read and what I was being offered, but the desire to travel abroad overwhelmed my sense of reasoning as at the time in question.
“The first thing I observed on getting there was the inclement weather condition. The cold was so much on my health that each time I coughed, I was throwing up blood-stained sputum with serious chest pains. Besides, rather than taking me to any school as a teacher as planned, I was subjected into a house help job, fetching water with heavy buckets from a distance location into the storey building apartment I was housed in. I was working like a slave, doing all sorts of menial jobs.
‘”To worsen my situation, my master started making advances towards me. I tried all I could to ward him off, but he would not relent. I had to call him aside one day to let him know that no other man could sleep with me aside the one that gave me the waist bead. He dared me by asking me of the likely consequences of him having the affair with me, despite the repeated warnings.
“I promptly told him that such a man would be mentally deranged for six days and that on the seventh day, he would die. That narration calmed him down temporarily and it gave me a momentary sigh of relief. That was how my waist beads saved me from being raped. But my life became miserable and I had to think of the way out of it, so that I would not die in a strange land.
“I suddenly discovered that there was a Wi-Fi telephone network within the house and that afforded me the opportunity to send the video of my ordeals that I learnt became viral. In the process, the Phemic Life Support Foundation, based in Ilorin, with office in Lagos and headquarters in London, came to my rescue. I am happy to be home at last; there is no place like sweet home.
“I want to warn other Nigerians who think abroad is a paradise to think twice before embarking on a wild goose chase.”
One music talent manager, Patrick who initially signed Davido’s music artiste, Peruzzi to his record label named ‘Golden Boy Entertainment’ has opened the Pandora Box and it’s contents are not only bad for the eyes but also disturbing to the ears.
Both parties have been going back and forth with verbal attacks on social media with tension escalating.

(1) Davido’s hit song FIA was actually written and sang by Peruzzi who handed it over to his boss probably after being compensated with cash. So many hit songs of Davido have been trailed by similar rumours in the past.
(2) The highly-publicized ‘Assurance’ song was probably written by Peruzzi also as Twitter users have been analysing the lyrics which share similarities with a certain tweet Peruzzi made in the past.
(3) Peruzzi might have dated Chioma – Davido’s baby mama as claimed by Patrick who believes he ‘pimped her out’ to Davido after lying that they are cousins.
(4) The strength of Davido’s love for Chioma might be presently weak as they initially unfollowed each other on Instagram and then followed again to apparently douse the tension in the public eye.
(5) Controversial blogger and journalist Kemi Omololu Olunloyo who claimed Chioma wasn’t faithful to Davido long before this drama might be credible after all. She was also the first to report that Chioma was pregnant, although she denied it only for maternity pictures to be uploaded online.
(6) The reported N45 million Porsche Davido bought for Chioma on her birthday might be a ruse as Kemi Olunloyo has affirmed again. She has also reminded us of the publicized cooking show of Chioma which never materialized. It might also be an ‘audio show’ in the local lingo.
(7) Davido might not be a ‘Father Christmas’ as he appears online. He is so frugal with money. Patrick seems like a guy who only wants a bite of the money Davido has made off Peruzzi which Davido might have been opposed to.
(8) If it’s confirmed that Peruzzi and Chioma were once bedmates as there is no smoke without fire, a paternity test needs to be carried out on baby Ifeanyi immediately.
(9) Again, if indeed Chioma hasn’t been transparent in her love dealings with Davido, her intentions in his life might just be questionable. She could be there to ‘secure the bag’ like his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu obviously did.
(10) Lastly, Davido’s musical talents might be overrated with almost half of his hit songs being linked to other artistes although it’s a norm abroad.
A 26-year-old lady identified as Ataghar Namdoo, has been apprehended for allegedly faking her own kidnap.
According to the spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana, Ataghar allegedly conspired with her boyfriend Emmanuel Idu and Okpe David to produce a short video of herself blindfolded and driven to a bush at Sangotedo area in Ajah, Lagos state. In the video, the man wearing a mask and holding a Jack knife could be seen threatening to kill Ataghar.
Bala says the men sent two videos to the employer of the lady threatening to kill her and to also go after the family of the employer if a ransom of N10 million is not paid. Frightened by the threat contained in the video and the follow up calls, the said employer reported the case to the Police. On the receipt of the case, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc ordered the Anti kidnapping unit to carry out an in depth investigate into the case.
The videos were thoroughly analysed alongside other vital leads. A well coordinated operation was put in place which led to the successful rescue of the self arranged victim of the abduction and the arrest of one of the two suspects, Okpe David, who is her boyfriend.
Bala says the Command has taken steps to verify the claim made by Okpe David that he is a military personnel. Police have equally launched a manhunt of the second male suspect, Emmanuel Idu, who is on the run.
When interrogated, Okpe David confessed to have provided the Truck used in driving Ataghar to the bush. He also admitted he did the video recordings sent to the employer of the Lady.
Bala says the three suspects all came from the state of origin, Benue State and have known each other for so many years. Both the lady and the man arrested confessed to the commission of the crime and that there aim was to extort money from the girl’s employer which they intend to share among themselves.
The police spokesperson said it is a criminal offence for anyone to fake his or her kidnapping. He added that under the Lagos state laws, the offender upon conviction, is liable to 14years imprisonment.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, took to his social media page on Sunday to blast heavy weight champion, Anthony Joshua, for prostrating before President Buhari in London yesterday January 18th.

Two street light cable vandals who operate mostly by midnight have been arrested and paraded by the Lagos State government.
The suspects who were linked to the outage of power within a short space of time of lighting up roads, reportedly pretend to be technicians while carrying out the illegal act.

46-year-old Jeanine Delsky and 23-year-old Sulaiman Babayero Isa who will be getting married a year after meeting on Instagram, were invited over by Kano State Sharia Police popularly known as Hisbah at its Panshekara Office.

The British Royal Family have released an official statement as regards the “stepping back” of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan.
The statement comes a few days after Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family held a meeting with Prince Harry on Monday, at the Sandringham estate in eastern England, to agree on next steps after he and Meghan decided to “step back” as senior royals.
According to the statement, Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer use their royal titles, will forgo public funds and repay the £2.4m spent on their house in Windsor. They will be allowed to earn money in the private sector, and whatever work they pursue will continue to “uphold the values of Her Majesty.”
The agreement takes effect later in the spring of 2020.
Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele was conspicuously missing as her father was laid to final rest in Ikorodu on January 17, 2020
Funke Akindele-Bello of the “Jenifa’s Diary” fame had taken to her Instagram page on December 9, 2019, to announce the demise of her father, Revd Godwin Akindele.
The Bishop Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ikorodu, Rt. Rev Samson Osundina, then expressed his disappointment in Nollywood actress Funke Akindele Bello and her siblings over their absence at their father’s funeral.
Their dad, Very Revd. Godwin Olusoji Akindele, died on Saturday, December 7, 2019, after a brief illness, aged 73.
However, none of his four children was present at his Service of Songs and burial at #Ibeshe, #Ikorodu, #Lagos.
While delivering the burial sermon, Rev. Osundina thanked the children for taking care of their father during the times when he was ill, but stressed the fact that paying him the last respect as children was very important and significant.
He enjoined them to retrace their steps by making amends wherever necessary. He then suspended the usual outing and thanksgiving service which are final programes in Christian’s burial, till the deceased’s children are available to attend.
