A Nigerian man who claims he was denied a job opportunity due to nepotism, took to Facebook to narrate his unpleasant experience.
Facebook user, Olumide McAnelka Adebayo said he received a text inviting him for an interview, and had to drive from Ekiti to Lagos for the interview. However, when he got to the venue, he was told he had no business being there.
The man alleged that his name had been replaced with another candidate’s name “that was recommended by a notable political office holder”.
He said this act caused him “sleepless night”. He called for an end to nepotism and said he hopes for a time when employment will be based on merit.
Read his post below ;
You’re invited for Commissioners’ interview @ the Civil Serv. Comm. which will hold from Weds 12th February, 2020. Come for your Commissioners’ interview invitation and time table as from tmrw, 11th Feb. from 10am @ Appointment department.
I actually woke up to this above text on my phone yesterday morning , the 11th of Feb. and drove down to Ekiti from Lagos.
A journey that was supposed to take approximately 5hours drive, but i was able to cover up in not more than 3hours(you can imagine the risk right!) just to make sure i do every necessary thing required of me before the interview.
On getting to the commission, i realized my name wasn’t on the pasted list, so i decided to inquire from one of the Admin officers.
He checked from the master list and looked straight into my eyes in a displeasure manner, shake his head in a pity mood and told me “SORRY, THE TEXT YOU RECEIVED WAS BY ERROR”, you are not qualified.
Behold, my name had been replaced by another candidate that was recommended by a notable politician/political office holder.
The one and only political office holder that i know within the state wasn’t even picking up my calls, neither was he responding to my text
When will things like this stop in Nigeria? When will Nigeria start employing people on merit? Enough is enough!!!
If i didn’t receive the text, i wouldn’t have been bothered. I wouldn’t have wasted 12 thousand Naira to be in Ekiti. I wouldn’t have put my life on risk of high speed.
Anyways, i just think i should put this on facebook for future reference and to serve as a public notice that our government are only offering employment to people they know and not those who are merited.

Scientists have warned people to avoid hugging and kissing ahead of Valentine’s Day in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Professor John Oxford, from Queen Mary University, said people could protect themselves from the deadly virus by employing a bit of ‘British standoffishness’.
Commenting ahead of Valentine’s Day, Professor Oxford described the illness as a ‘social virus’ that could infect people by close contact and want people cut contact off.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Professor Oxford said: ‘I think we have to galvanise ourselves in our social actions – how we interact with people I think that is extremely important; more so than wearing a mask. I think that’s a total diversion.
‘What we need to do is less of the handshaking, hugging, kissing, that sort of thing, because this virus looks like its spread by ordinary tidal breathing, not necessarily colds and coughing.’
Professor Neil Ferguson, from Imperial College London in a statement said that 60 percent of the entire population could become infected – around six million Britons.
He told The Telegraph: ‘Surveillance has started in hospitals across the UK of pneumonia cases, that will give us a proper picture.
‘Our best estimate is that transmission in the UK will get going in the next few weeks; unless we are very lucky probably peaking two to three months after that.
‘If it truly establishes itself in terms of true person to person transmission it will behave like a flu pandemic may be up to 60 percent of the population being affected but most of those people having very mild symptoms.’

Odion Ighalo has been banned from Manchester United’s training ground over fears of a potential coronavirus risk.
Recall the Nigerian international traveled from China, though not from Wuhan where the virus originated, to the UK to seal his move from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season.
The former Watford striker who has been working with a personal trainer at a separate location in Manchester was instructed to train away from United’s AON Training Complex for health and safety issues.
The 30-year-old did not also travel with the United squad to a warm-weather training camp in Spain, which was down to concerns border restrictions as it would have affected his re-entry to the UK from Spain.
According to Mirror, United decided to take the precautionary decision to make Ighalo train away from the club’s Carrington base over his mandated 14-day incubation period.
Explaining Ighalo’s absence from the warm-weather training camp, Solskjaer said: “Odion will stay in Manchester, because since he has come from China in the last 14 days, the news of the virus there means we’re not sure if he’s going to be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again.
“So he’s staying here working with a personal coach on an individual programme and his family then can settle in England as well. That’s a plus.
“Of course, he might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them, but we don’t want to take that risk [of potential border restrictions tightening].”
The United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already confirmed that Ighalo will travel with the squad to Stamford Bridge and is expected to make his debut against Chelsea next week.
A newly married man has said it is a sin for a man or woman to moan during sexual intercourse. He added that the first time his wife tried it, he took her for deliverance and now all she does is ”hum hymns” during sex.
Facebook user, Uzor Obinna Marvelous, who got married in January this year, said it is “wrong and ungodly” for Christian couples to moan during sex.
He said men do not like it when women do it. He added that moaning shows how “depraved” a woman is. As for the men who moan, he said it’s a sign they’ve been visiting sex workers.
He added that any woman who calls the name of God or Jesus during sex or speaks in tongues should be sent to jail.
Read his post below ;
Moaning During S*xual intercourse is Bad For Christian Couples. This article is strictly for Christian women who moan during conjugation. This is very wrong and ungodly.
Godly women don’t moan during sexual intercourse. Most men don’t like it, especially when it is so loud. And some detest even the mildest of it. It shows how depraved the woman is. It is a very clear symptom of carnality and a sign of lack of self-control.
About a decade ago during one of John Hagee sermons, he concluded by saying that women who call the name of God during such an act should be sent to jail. Some even scream the name of Jesus and speak in tongues. Too bad.
I heard of a story about how a woman and her granddaughter spent the first wedding night with a newly married couple. The screaming was so loud and disgusting in the dead of the night.
The little girl of seven woke up and asked grandma why aunty was crying and making so much noise. The grandma was very polite with her response. “They are making babies,” she told her and asked her to go back to sleep.
The first time my wife did that I was shocked. I had to take her for deliverance from the spirit of lust and moaning. Since then she reduced the tempo of the moaning but hummed hymns silently. Amazing Grace is her favourite.
There was another scenario that happened where I lived about 2 years ago at Ajegunle. This couple had five children.
The midnight moaning usually starts with a loud shout in Ibibio language. Then singing follows almost immediately. The next thing you will hear is the man thick baritone voice shouting What! in English.
She will then reply with curses and the man will be replying Amen. She will be raining curses on whoever will take away honey from her mouth.
What honey my brethren? It got to a point that the landlord had to intervene. He had been awake from 2 am to 4 am. The weather was very hot too and the mosquitoes had a party.
The old man knocked their door in their one-room apartment and there was silence. Then the man appears in wrapper and topless with heavy sweat drops cascading his face and chest.
They both stared at each other for a while before the old man broke the silence. He pleaded that the man should get another apartment before the end of the month that his house is not a brothel. How can a woman with five children be behaving like that?
The man replied that he was not owing and that he was enjoying his money.
The remaining tenants threatened to call in the police any time this couple keeps them awake at night.
They had to induce their children with drugs so that they will not know what was happening in the night.
Men don’t moan. Even when they woman is at the top you cannot hear it. Any man who moans loudly must have been visiting prostitutes who taught him. It is sinful for men to moan during sexual activities. It’s a sign of weakness and carnality.
What does a couple stand to gain by moaning during s*xual intercourse? One medical lady was addressing a group of women in a church. She encouraged them to moan loudly during s*xual intercourse with their spouse. She told them that it assists the man to reach the mountain top.
Secondly, is the quality of babies that would be produced. They will be normal children and endowed with high intelligent quotient (IQ).she said and I almost cursed her that women who don’t moan give birth to imbeciles. What arrant nonsense. In a sane society, she ought to be arrested.
This goes to show how carnal and depraved some Christians can be. Report your spouse to your pastor for prayers if he or she moans during s*xual intercourse……To Be Continue #AdminUzor.
Unswerving in its quest to create a veritable platform for building an entrepreneurial spirit in the country’s teeming youths, Fidelity Bank Plc has expanded the scope of the Fidelity Youth Empowerment Academy (YEA) in a bid to accommodate new areas of vocational training.
On February 10, 2020, the bank in strategic partnership with Gazelle Academy commenced the seventh edition of the highly successful YEA at the Sokoto State University (SSU), Sokoto. Apart from the typical training on tailoring and make-up, participants will also be provided with requisite skills and first-hand knowledge in Fashion Designing, Cloth Embellishment, Cocktail and Phone Engineering among others.
Over 200 undergraduates of Sokoto State University (SSU) will benefit from this programme. So, why does the bank invest in young people? When the Fidelity Bank says, “turn your passion into a pay cheque”, that’s a message of empowerment. As a bank, it recognises that the youth look at the world with fresh eyes and such lively determination, and create much-needed change by throwing convention out the window.
That’s why the bank, through its laudable interventions, continues to develop innovative programmes that unleash the creative energies of Nigerian youths which in turn represents formidable new frontiers for sustainable national development, says Fidelity Bank MD, Nnamdi Okonkwo.
YEA is a skills acquisition, training and productivity improvement scheme targeted at youths, especially undergraduates in Nigeria’s higher institutions. This empowerment programme, which is part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, is primarily targeted at creating a new breed of entrepreneurs amongst Nigeria’s boisterous youth population.
Over 3,000 students have benefited from YEA programs at University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Waziri Umar Federal Polytechnic, Birnin-Kebbi; Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State; Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt; Bayero University, Kano and Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Some beneficiaries who have since started their own businesses were recognized at the event. Fidelity Bank has also provided students with high-quality sewing machines, pressing irons and make-up kits to make sure that undergraduates utilise the skills and experiences garnered at the youth empowerment workshop to improve their lives before and after graduation.
In essence, the Bank has succeeded in making entrepreneurs out of students who will be financially responsible and independent. Through this programme, the Bank has earned a significant measure of goodwill with state and local governments that have in some cases translated to a business relationships and have contributed to the Bank’s bottom line.
You can follow the @FidelityBankPlc on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more updates on this programme and other unique initiatives.

Still rate Wizkid, Davido, D'banj and Olamide over Burna Boy sha.
Everything Burna Boy said is FACT ! and applies to every industry and sect of life . When you are winning among a range of people doing the same thing , you should know only you & God truly has your back . The same people that cheer you might stir the soup that would kill you .
Burna Boy has actually been the BEST since Fela. No one paved any way for him. He has been the best since Fela Durotoye contested presidency in 2019. A king
Burna that thanked Kanye West 2 years ago because his album title “ye” lifted his career is out here telling us he gave Africa the respect they have now lmao. Gotta respect the weed tho. Elite work tbh
Immediately we finished hyping his sold out concert, spirit of sise sise just entered Burna Boy. He has been acting like a possessed dude ever since then. Trash talking as if he fell from heaven. Have you ever seen a king ruled forever? Only God Almighty is infallible. Calm down!
Burna boy can only be mentioned if it’s about artists that have been delivering for like 3 years ago.
But if the debate is about THE BEST, that should be about artists dat have been delivering nonstop for over a decade, that list is for the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Olamide & Co.

Pastor Joseph Eastwood Anaba of the Fountain Gates Ministry in Ghana has made a bizarre statement about women who do not ask for money from their boyfriends.
According to the man of God, a girlfriend who doesn’t ask for money from her man is a witch who is trying to kill her partner after one month.
Ghana Celebrities reported that Pastor Anaba made the controversial statement while delivering a sermon in his church.
“A girlfriend who doesn’t take your money is a witch who is trying to kill you after one month. So, they are not looking for your money, they are looking for your life,” Rev. Eastwood Anaba is quoted as saying.
He also went on to warn the men in his church not to get excited when their girlfriends do not ask them for money as it may be a sign of danger.
“So, don’t be happy and say that you are dating a girl who doesn’t like money, who rather gives you money. She is buying you to chew you. You are a cow, she is going to chew you and she is going to use you as ‘Kyinkyinga. You are walking soya,” the man of God warned.
A Nigerian man has recounted the shock and feeling of respect he had after visiting the house of a minister sometime back.

He was moved by their answers referred to the act as a show of integrity while also revealing that the man in question is related to famous afrobeats legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Heavy weight boxer, Tyson Fury has given a damning verdict on fellow Briton Anthony Joshua saying the latter had lost his fear factor.
Recall that the Nigerian born boxer only recently retrieved his world heavy weight titles from Andy Ruiz Jr in December. He had lost them to the Mexican six months earlier.
But after being knocked out in their first meeting – and boxing on the back foot in the rematch – Fury believes Joshua no longer sends chills through the division.
“Everyone has to do whatever they have to do to win a fight,” he said.
“I don’t think any of the fighters out there in the world are worried about AJ anymore, his bubble has well and truly been burst.
“No one is bothered about AJ anymore and they won’t be about Wilder either, when I burst his bubble too.”
It might be a while before Fury gets to battle it out with AJ however, for now he is preparing for his rematch with Deontay Wilder on Saturday week.
Controversial Nollywood actress, and mother of one, Tonto Dikeh, has a word of advice for her fans on Instagram.

Although, we are yet to get a clue on what might have transpired during her long absence from home, but it is glaring the actress seems hurt.

Anyone who vehemently dislikes you shouldn’t be anywhere close to your children. This life is deep and the heart of men is malignant.
How do you know they mean your child well when they dislike you?How do you know they mean you well when their loathe the womb that bore you?
