Let’s talk Breastfeeding.

When I was pregnant I read a lot. I was glued to Google & all the mommy blogs, pages, books. I even finally braved watching a couple of birthing clips. That was a hard one. But what Genuinely Freaked the heck outta me was Breastfeeding. The thought of it alone gave me sleepless nights. No Jokes.

After having my daughter I didn’t lactate until a couple of weeks afterwards. I almost got depressed. I did EVERYTHING. I ate everything & drank everything they advised until one Beautiful Day I had milk. Words cannot explain how Happy I was & now! Well, Now my Mother calls me “Vacuta Vesela”.

I LOVE to Breastfeed my child, It’s my favorite Mommie & Baby time. It creates a form of Bonding that’s nothing short of Spiritually Magical if such a thing even exists. The way she holds unto me, looks into my eyes whilst she suckles & smiles at me ??. I feel the Most Powerful when I’m breastfeeding. I honestly dread the day that I would have to stop.

Pastor Joseph Eastwood Anaba of the Fountain Gates Ministry in Ghana has made a bizarre statement about women who do not ask for money from their boyfriends.

According to the man of God, a girlfriend who doesn’t ask for money from her man is a witch who is trying to kill her partner after one month.

Ghana Celebrities reported that Pastor Anaba made the controversial statement while delivering a sermon in his church.

“A girlfriend who doesn’t take your money is a witch who is trying to kill you after one month. So, they are not looking for your money, they are looking for your life,” Rev. Eastwood Anaba is quoted as saying.

He also went on to warn the men in his church not to get excited when their girlfriends do not ask them for money as it may be a sign of danger.

“So, don’t be happy and say that you are dating a girl who doesn’t like money, who rather gives you money. She is buying you to chew you. You are a cow, she is going to chew you and she is going to use you as ‘Kyinkyinga. You are walking soya,” the man of God warned.

He was moved by their answers referred to the act as a show of integrity while also revealing that the man in question is related to famous afrobeats legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Recall that the Nigerian born boxer only recently retrieved his world heavy weight titles from Andy Ruiz Jr in December. He had lost them to the Mexican six months earlier.

But after being knocked out in their first meeting – and boxing on the back foot in the rematch – Fury believes Joshua no longer sends chills through the division.

“Everyone has to do whatever they have to do to win a fight,” he said.

“I don’t think any of the fighters out there in the world are worried about AJ anymore, his bubble has well and truly been burst.

“No one is bothered about AJ anymore and they won’t be about Wilder either, when I burst his bubble too.”

It might be a while before Fury gets to battle it out with AJ however, for now he is preparing for his rematch with Deontay Wilder on Saturday week.

It’s unfortunate that the headline for an interview a woman grants is always about her marital status – Beverly Naya

Beverly Naya has reacted to the headline used in a recent interview she granted, stating that ‘it’s unfortunate that when a woman grants an interview in this part of the world, the headline is almost always about about her marital status or opinions on marriage.’

The actress stated that in spite of spending a better part of her time talking about her life, career and aspirations, the focal point is always “marriage”.

Beverly tweeted;

Quite unfortunate that when a woman grants an interview in this part of the world, the headline is almost always about about her marital status or opinions on marriage. You’ll spend 30 mins talking about your life, career and aspirations only to have ‘marriage’ be the focus. Wow.

Most common headlines used for women:

‘Why I’ve chosen not to get married’

‘Why I’m still not married’

‘The kind of man I want to marry’

‘The right man hasn’t found me’

‘I will marry when God says I should’

‘I will get married when the right man finds me’

The day my husband slapped me for the first time – Mercy Aigbe

Mercy Aigbe

Actress, business woman and mum of two, Mercy Aigbe has recounted her bitter experience in the hands of her former husband, Lanre Gentry.

The actress made this known while recently addressing her fans in her newly opened Youtube channel.

The actress who in 2018, got separated from Gentry on grounds of domestic violence, disclosed thus:

“The first time the slap came, it felt like I was dreaming. I wasn’t expecting it and I was shocked beyond words. I didn’t know it was going to happen but it happened. The begging would then come after that. Once a man raises his hand to hit you, he is going to do it over and again. However, because it was my second attempt (at marriage), I was ready to make it work, even with all the violence. I was there hoping and praying. I just wanted a happy home.

“The incident that broke the camel’s back was the one where I almost died. The beating was horrible. People often say actresses don’t want to remain married. Who told them that? (You think) being a celebrity doesn’t make me human? Does (being a celebrity) mean I don’t want to have a happy home? They say actresses are promiscuous but promiscuity is not (the exclusive preserve of) any profession. When mine (break-up) happened, it wasn’t easy because I am a celebrity. I read a lot of things online. Some people even said I made it up. But, nobody can dictate to me how to live my life.”

Encouraging women to speak up when they are assaulted by their husbands. Mercy who recently released a movie titled, ‘Victims’, which has domestic violence as its theme, further said, “I have been through domestic violence and I came out strong. I would love to see the end of domestic violence in society. It wasn’t easy for me because society always shames one. Everybody believes if one is experiencing domestic violence, one has to be patient as a woman and take it all to remain in one’s husband’s house. A lot of people have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence. And religion is not helping. An assaulted woman could go to her pastor and the cleric would say, ‘Oh madam, you need to keep praying’. Is it until she loses her life?”

Actor Yemi Solade Reveals Why Some Of Actors Don’t Like Him

Actor Yemi Solade Reveals

Ace actor, Yemi Solade who recently celebrated his 60th birthday, opens up in a chat with City People about his experience in the industry.

The popular actor who does not take ‘nonsense’ from anybody revealed why some of his fellow actors don’t like him.

How did you get used to the existing tradition in the Yoruba movie industry?

I have had to adjust a bit. I met a whole lot of traditional ways they do their thing when I joined.

There is this particular practice in the Yoruba movie industry, it is called: I do for you, you do for me. It works for some people but not for me because I didn’t run a clique. They will invite stars to location, and end up giving them money just for fuel, and end up running round society men and women for the bigger survival. So, I chose to remain the consummate actor that I am. To Just be different, to do my craft and collect good fees and live a normal life.

How were you able to break into the Yoruba movie industry considering the long list of stars there already?

Yes. The likes of Taiwo Hassan. He was the Denzel Washington of the industry. Let’s give it to him. He’s got everything. He is tall, handsome and all that, and you know that I am not tall, but I have a mouth. I saw what these guys were trying to do, coming from their own backgrounds. The Alarijo thing. Though, we experienced it in Wole Soyinka’s theatre. Their Alarijo Theatre was from Ogunde Theatre, and that was what produced stars like Adebayo Salami, Jide Kosoko and others and they refer to them as “Oga Mi”. But I won’t use that term. If you ask me who trained me, I will just tell you, Wole Soyinka. He was a lecturer in the University of Ife, a Civil Servant that was paid. He did not employ or write any Jamb for me. He only influenced my studying Theatre and becoming a drama student in his department. But in the Yoruba arm, you must have an Oga. They have master and apprenticeship scheme. Somebody must train you and you cannot erode that, it has come to stay. Here I was, coming from Wole Soyinka’s line, where things like that were not applicable. I could give him all the respect that he taught me, but not to the extent of being subservient to him. That was the structure I met, and I was doing my thing differently and I had issues, because they saw me like someone that was arrogant and doing something they were not used to. They concluded I was just one guy that just came to have a feel of the industry.

I can remember when Mama Rainbow met me on the set of “Oju Inu”. She said “Doctor, if I invite you will you work for me? I played the role of Medical Doctor in the movie back then and everything was well structured. I began to point out certain things that I felt were missing such as calling someone Mrs. Tayo in a Corporate environment. Once you use the prefix, the surname has to follow. So they began to frown at my ideas, that Baba Ogunde already said it that some English people will come and hijack this theatre work. But despite everything I was focused because I already made up my mind to come and make impact. And don’t forget this is what I was trained to do. It is my job. It’s my life and I was not doing it for money. I was so excited that the Marketers who saw the flicks were interested in my job.

So I began to be their bride at that point. Many major roles were coming to me and I was enjoying myself. I had clashes with a few of them who were not ready to embrace my style and I was telling them I wasn’t shifting grounds. I had reasons to drop some bombshell in the media. Till tomorrow I will keep saying it that, lack of education, professional training, formal training is the problem of that sector, but I give it to them, they are a bunch of raw talents, that no one can take from them. If you see their crafts, you will fall in love with their skills, but the technical know-how and power of articulation we don’t have.

Also, the fear of Voodoo but I didn’t see all of that, I was cautioned to be extremely careful, but here I am today. I have contributed in my own little way and I’m still doing that now. And I think, we have more understanding now because those critics thought I was out to destroy the structure.

But I was only trying to let them know that I was not coming from their background and orientations but we can marry the two together. I even told them to their faces that either they like it or not, we must marry the two together and what was coming out from this small body was beautiful to lots of people. I represented a class of actors in the industry and with that, we began to increase, I mean Actors who have gone to school, not necessarily studying Theatre Arts, but those who have degrees in different fields. They could express themselves before the press and everybody speaks English fluently I began to see them and started feeling at ease with myself. And I was like, this is what I really want to see. So apart from exhibiting their skills, they can relate with people of other professions with confidence.

” When our men were mobilised to the scene, we found Clement dead in a pool of his blood in the kitchen.

” Blood was also seen all over the kitchen and a thorough search of the house led to the discovery of the remains of Clement’s wife, Toyin, 50, in one of the locked-up rooms upstairs.

“Two corpses were recovered and deposited at the Isolo General Hospital’s mortuary. The assailant equally stabbed his sister, Mary, in the stomach and on the hands.

”She has visited the Ejigbo Health Centre where she received treatment. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the fleeing assailant,” he had said. (NAN)

Dear men, Side chicks look hotter than wives because you don’t live with them. You only see them when they perfect their makeup. Dont leave a wife for a hot side chick. Her hotness is a mirage that will disappear once you start living with her!
