An Abia resident has taken to social media to appeal to the State Governor, Alex Otti, requesting him to intervene and address the issue of excessive power supply in the area.

In a video that has gone viral, the resident expresses his frustration with the constant availability of electricity and urges the governor to take action before it causes damage.

In the video, the resident shares a funny incident that occurred when he retrieved a bottle of water from his fridge.

To his surprise, the water had frozen and turned into a solid block, bringing out smoke when he removed it from the refrigerator.

As proof, showing the continuous power supply experienced in the area.

The resident humorously pleads with Governor Alex Otti to instruct the relevant authorities responsible for electricity supply to reduce the duration of power supply, as it is becoming excessive.

He jokingly spoke on the potential damage that may occur to appliances and household items due to the constant flow of electricity.

The video has garnered attention on social media, with many finding the resident’s problem amusing and relatable.

While the appeal carries a joking tone, many social media users have criticized the resident for not appreciating the progress made in delivering uninterrupted power supply to Abia and they would gladly trade places with him.

A Nigerian man has shared via the microblogging platform X, how one of his friends discovered that all three of his kids aren’t his, after conducting a DNA test.

Heartbroken by the results of the DNA test, he decided to question his wife, but her response left him and everyone else in shock.

According to the wife, while the man was working too hard to fend for the family, she was having fun with someone else.

After disclosing this, she hung up the phone and has been avoiding phone calls from her husband, his family, and friends.

His tweet read;

“A friend of mine got DNA results for all three of his kids yesterday. None of them are his. A 9-year-old, a 6-year-old and a 4-year-old. The man is completely broken. His wife’s response was that he worked too hard and she drops her phone. She has not responded to all our calls. This man is a line manager with an international oil and gas service company, doing absolutely great, his kids came to visit him and according to him, he simply wanted to run comprehensive medicals for them and just decided to throw in a DNA to check ancestry. The man is completely broken. His kids are in the house with him, security and emergency services have been called, everybody is crying, kids are crying.”

The user had shared images of what became of a baby girl’s earlobes after her mother pierced her ear when she was one week old.

Sharing multiple pictures of the baby’s ear he attached a caption that read; “this makes me SO mad! her mom got her ears pierced at ONE week old.”

The baby’s earlobe appeared white and had split into halves in the picture due to the earring she had on her ears.

Nigerian singer and music executive, Dammy has revealed how legendary musician Tuface’s, former manager, Efe Omorogbe, prevented him from receiving assistance from the label boss.

He shared this in response to the news of Tuface and his former manager’s splitting up.

Nigerian comedian, Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe Desmond, popularly known as Destalker, has disclosed that he has made several attempts at suicide.

He revealed that he struggled with depression following his graduation from university and that his inability to find employment eventually led him to become an okada rider.

In a recent session of the Afrobeats Podcast, Destalker and UK-based presenter Adesope Olajide discussed his life story.

The stand-up comic claimed that his family’s problems and his failure to get a well-paying job or advance in his profession pushed him to despair.

He went on to say that although he had previously taken the decision to never work for anybody again, there were many obstacles in his way and he had difficulties.

Destalker also acknowledged that his colleague Ajebo helped him get his first significant break in the comedy business.

He said; “I graduated with a degree in Public Administration but couldn’t get a job. So I started doing okada [commercial motorcyclist]. But the truth is, I already had it on my mind that I don’t want to work for anybody. You must have a blueprint of what you want to become even though the country has its own blueprint waiting for you.

I was struggling. It wasn’t easy. There were a lot of distractions and it got to a point where I was suicidal. I attempted suicide three times. I think nobody has heard this part of me.

That was when I realised that even I can’t take my life. I now believed that when you’re suicidal, your miracle is close. The devil doesn’t just want you to attain it. The closer you are to your destiny, the difficult the challenges. That was my story.”

Destalker stated that FunnyBone had predicted that he wouldn’t survive more than six months in the comedy business.

The mother of one revealed that her daughter fell ill and had to be hospitalized for treatment. She said the most challenging part was being in the hospital alone with her daughter, as a single mother who recently lost her husband.

Taking to the microblogging platform X, the man shared a photo of Tochi seated while shaking hands with Shettima at an event held to honor her late father, mother Chizoba, and brother Chizzy, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash.

Viral Nigerian woman, Debbie a.k.a. Mummy Zee, has warned a woman against helping her broke fiancé pay her bride price.

She advised against the idea when responding to the woman’s query about whether it’s appropriate for her to support her fiancé financially in this regard.

The woman, who has a well-paying job, shared that her fiancé is still financially struggling but is eager to marry her despite his situation.

She wrote,

“Mummyzee, should a lady support her fiance when it comes to paying her bride price. I have a good job and pay but my fiance is struggling financially and he is ready to marry me.”

Responding to the question, Mummy Zee advised the woman against paying for her own bride price or giving her man money.

She urged her to instead appeal to her parents to reduce the items on the engagement list to match her fiancé’s financial situation.

Ryan Taylor, the ex-fiancé of popular Nigerian Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy has responded to a recent post of hers where she threw shades at her exes.

DJ Cuppy had earlier shared a picture on her Instagram page with the caption “I never run into my ex’s… They can’t afford to be where I be without me 😃”

The entertainer who used the post to throw shades at her exes didn’t exempt her ex-fiancé Ryan Taylor, who parted ways with her a few months after engaging her.

Monkeys hold a sacred status in Awka, making it strictly prohibited to harm or consume them.

The man, who had been a resident of Awka for 24 years, was captured in a viral video confessing to his offense.

He admitted to being fully aware of the cultural taboo against killing and eating monkeys.

According to his account, he had set a trap in the bush with the intention of catching other types of bush meat.

However, a monkey became caught in the trap instead.

Expressing deep remorse, the man pleaded for mercy in the video, recognizing the gravity of his actions.

He humbly appealed:

“I know I have committed a grave offense. Please do not harm me, but you can take me anywhere you wish.”

Moved by his plea, the indigenes ultimately decided to spare his life.

However, they emphasized that the community would take necessary steps to appease the god of the land, seeking to avoid any potential repercussions.

In a lengthy tweet, he shared that a few months after moving into the country, the lady traveled 10 hours to go have sex with ex in England.

“My friend came to UK with his babe on skilled worker visa, he sponsored every single penny they spent about 30m plus. They landed in UK early January. Few days ago, the babe traveled 10hrs from Dundee (in Scotland) to Plymouth (in England) to go and have sex with her ex. This is an ex that has always causing lot of fight between them since they were in Nigeria, my guy has always wanted her to cut contact with the ex, but her excuse has always been “we are ex not enemies”. Now my guy cannot break up, because they came into the UK as couple and the girl is the main applicant on their visa, which means if my guy want break up/divorce, the babe can send him back to Nigeria (being the main applicant on their visa). So he’ll have to sleep and wake up every day in the same room with a lady that cheated on him till God knows when. How he find out? Tunde Akinsanmi, former member of the popular R&B group, Styl-Plus, has asked Nigerian media to support musical genres other than Afrobeats.

Since Afobeats is now the sound that’s trending both locally and globally, he said TV and radio stations shouldn’t let other genres die.

In a recent interview, Tunde also urged event planners to support pioneering artists who paved the way rather than only concentrating on popular performers.

He said;

“I will like to listen to radio and know that there are other genres of music, and not just afrobeats. They should not allow other genres of music to die. I have been all over the world and I have seen how music is streamed on TV and radio.

They play both new and old songs. Show promoters should not just focus on people that are reigning now. They should also patronise people who paved the way. The more they are patronised, the longer their works and careers are going to last.”

Speaking on the idea that veterans are attempting to rejoin the music industry, Tunde said; “People are just waking up. It is only in Nigeria that we call them ‘old cats’. As an artiste grows older, they become vintage.”
