Toke Makinwa responds to those criticizing people mourning Kobe Bryant who they’ve never met

A great number of people all over the world have put up posts to mourn NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and the other people who died in the helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.

However, some critics opposed the overwhelming show of pain, especially coming from those who never knew him personally and who didn’t celebrate him while he was alive. They accused those mourning him of hypocrisy and trying to do things because it’s trending.

Responding, Toke Makinwa, wrote: “Before you criticize people for mourning a legend they haven’t met or paying their respect to Kobe, before you comment foolishly, think about your life, your work, your message to the world and hope that when it’s your turn to go the world will feel your departure.”

Daniel Olukoya, the senior pastor of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, has denied claims that his church has the highest number of single ladies in Nigeria.

Olukoya said this while reacting to reports that he has banned members of his church from wedding Christians from other denominations.

In a statement released by his spokesperson Collins Edomaruse, Olukoya argued that for the past 10 years, his church through its singles programme, Gen 218, has conducted over 150,000 weddings and that he encourages his members to wed anyone either within or outside his church, as far as their intending spouse is a Christian.

The statement reads

“We encourage and actively support all spinsters and bachelors, regardless of denomination, to build their relationships on biblical standards. We strongly advise all our single men and women to marry fellow believers within the Christian faith. We believe this is God’s will for marriage and is the best foundation for a successful and a Godly marriage.

Dr Olukoya and MFM ministries have never stated that single men and women within this ministry should only marry within the ministry.

In the last decade, Gen 218 has provided training, teaching and guidance to thousands of single men and women across Nigeria, Africa and all around the world. To its credit, over 150,000 weddings have occured as a result of Gen 218 forums.

The false assumption that the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries has the largest number of female singles is baseless, erroneous and very misleading.

Kobe Bryant Helicopter Crash: Eight victims named

While the sporting world still mourns the loss on of of its greats, other victims from the fatal Kobe Bryant Helicopter Crash have been named.

The Los Angeles Lakers legend and his 13-year-old daughter were flying to the Mamba Academy near Thousand Oaks, California when the chopper went down in Calabasas, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

A 911 call was reportedly placed at 9:47 a.m. reporting a helicopter fire, with first responders reaching the scene of the crash about eight minutes later. After they extinguish the fires, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Office revealed, that all eight passengers and the helicopter’s pilot died.

The Coroner’s Office in a statement disclosed that they are still working to recover the remains, but information about the identity of the crash victims have been revealed.

Alyssa Altobelli, a teammate of Gianna’s, was also on the helicopter, along with her parents, Keri and John Altobelli, who was a baseball coach at Orange Coast College.

Christina Mauser, an assistant coach at Harbor Day School in Corona Del Mar, California, was also among the victims as well as Sarah Chester and her daughter, Payton Chester.

Kobe Bryant is survived by his wife, Vanessa Bryant, and their three other children, Natalia, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri, 7 months.

BREAKING: Maryam Sanda sentenced to death for killing husband

The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, on Monday found Maryam Sanda guilty of killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello.

Ms Sanda was sentenced to death by hanging by the judge.

The Nigerian police charged Ms Sanda for culpable homicide in November 2017, and sought the death penalty against the accused in a two count charge.

The victim, Mr Bello, was the son of a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello.

Justice Yusuf Halilu said there was compelling evidence to convict the accused.

The judge dismissed Ms Sanda’s statement that her husband fell on a broken Shisha pot during a fight on the ill-fated day as a “smokescreen to deceive the court”.

He said available evidence proved that the accused stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife with intent to ” kill”.

As the judge pronounced Ms Sanda guilty, the accused attempted to run out of the court room while her relatives started shouting, causing an uproar in an attempt to draw public sympathy and soft landing.

A short break was called by the judge to restore calm before the sentence was delivered.

Nigerian Instagram comedian cum politician, Freedom Astepoyi also known as Mr. Jollof has ignited the wrath of social media users due to the comment he made regarding the tragic death of former NBA Star, Kobe Bryant.

Mr. Jollof, who has carved a niche for himself as a social media ranter, took to his Instagram page to react to the death of the star and in doing so, insinuated that Kobe caused his own death by acquiring the helicopter in the first place.

However, in an effort to save face, he deleted the video but that was not after the video was saved and shared on social media and as such, he’s currently facing a backlash for his comment.

Kobe on Sunday, died after the helicopter he was traveling on, crashed in Calabasas, California.

27 year old Selena Gomez, has accused her former lover, Justin Bieber of Emotional abuse, while they were still dating!

This was made known during an interview with NPR on Sunday.

“I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse [during the relationship],” she said.

When asked by the reporter if she was referring to “emotional abuse”, Gomez replied in the affirmative.

She said: “Yes, and I think that it’s something that — I had to find a way to understand it as an adult.”

She added: “As much as I definitely don’t want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I’ve ever felt and I’ve found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible.”

Selena also talked about her hit song Lose You To Love Me, which she confirmed was about her on-off relationship with Justin Bieber.

“I’m very proud of [the song],” Selena said. “I felt I didn’t get a respectful closure and I had accepted that, but I know I needed some way to just say a few things that I wish I had said.”

The private helicopter carrying Kobe Bryant, his daughter, and seven others flew through thick fog, despite Los Angeles police grounding their own fleet, it has been revealed.

The Sikorsky S-76 owned by the late Lakers basketball star was heading to Bryant’s Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks for basketball practice when it crashed.

Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Josh Rubenstein confirmed their Air Support Division was grounded Sunday, adding: “The weather situation did not meet our minimum standards for flying.”

A flight plan indicated the helicopter took off from John Wayne Airport in Orange County at 9.06am PST and the last signal was received from the aircraft at 9.45am. It was expected to land at San Gabriel Valley Airport in El Monte.

Flight data shows the aircraft appeared to get into trouble above the LA Zoo where it circled at a very low altitude and air traffic control audio suggests conditions were worsening in the run up to the crash.

Bryant’s helicopter circled for a time just east of Interstate 5, near Glendale. Air traffic controllers noted poor visibility around Burbank, just to the north, and Van Nuys, to the northwest.

After holding up the helicopter for other aircraft, they cleared the Sikorsky S-76 to proceed north along Interstate 5 through Burbank before turning west to follow U.S Route 101, the Ventura Highway.

Shortly after 9:40 a.m., the helicopter turned again, toward the southeast, and climbed to more than 2,000 feet above sea level. It then descended and crashed into the hillside at about 1,400 feet, according to data from Flightradar24.

When it hit the ground, the helicopter was flying at about 160 knots (184 mph) and descending at a rate of more than 4,000 feet per minute, the Flightradar24 data showed. The impact scattered debris over an area about the size of a football field.

Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene near Las Virgenes Rd and Willow Glen St in Calabasas after a group of mountain bikers spotted the smoke. The crash site is difficult to access and authorities say it could take several days to recover bodies.

The Police in Bauchi State have apprehended a man, Solomon Peters, who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Patience Zakari, to death in Bauchi following a disagreement over telephone call.

Peters took to his heels after committing the heinous crime in the early hours of Friday but was arrested on Sunday.

A telephone call from another male friend of the deceased had resulted in a heated argument, resulting in violent scuffle that led to jealous Peters stabbing Patience with a knife.

A friend of the deceased narrated how Miss Zakari briefed him of the incident before she finally died. He said the lovers had a heated argument when the deceased received a phone call from a male friend in the middle of the night.

“She narrated to me before she died that everything happened at about 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning. She said she received a phone call from just an ordinary male friend and her Solomon got jealous and started harassing her verbally.

As she was trying to explain to him, he pounced on her and started hitting her. She took a bottle, hit him on the head in self defence because the beating was too much for her and the man picked up a knife and stabbed her in the back in retaliation.

She said she lost a lot of blood before she was rushed to a clinic in the morning where she was treated and brought back home in the evening when she narrated the incident to me.

Unfortunately, when I left the place, I heard that the wound degenerated and she was rushed to a hospital later that night where she eventually gave up,” the source revealed.

Kemi Olunloyo demands new DNA test from Davido over child he denied 7 years ago

Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has yet again dropped another bombshell about Nigerian Singer and DMW Boss, David Adeleke.

She has revisited a 2013 case Davido was involved in, about a lady named Ayotomide Labinjo who accused Davido of fathering a child with her.

Olunloyo claims she has been the one responsible for the child’s upkeep all this while.

The US-based journalist accused the girl’s mother, Ayo of being a prostitute as she allegedly slept with most of the singer’s entourage at the Ibadan club she was working in 2013.

Ms. Olunloyo further asked the singer to retake a new DNA test because she believes the previous test that came out negative was altered.

However, if the test result comes out negative, it means his cousin, B-Red might be the father as they were both believed to have slept with the lady.

“Davido admitted that his entire entourage slept with Ayo Labinjoh February 2013 after a concert and a bar visit to where she worked. Nigerian Afrobeat star, Burna Boy has lost the 2020 Grammy award for Best World Music Album to Beninese legendary musician Angelique Kidjo, who wins the award for the fourth time, with her Album titled Celia.

In her acceptance speech, Angelique Kidjo dedicated the award to Burna Boy as one of the few emerging African superstars taking the world by storm.

The Best World Music Album category recognizes performers outside the United States who showcase non-European, indigenous influences in their body of work. The award was first handed out in 1992 to Mickey Hart.

Kobe Bryant’s daughter died alongside her father in a helicopter crash in California, reports TMZ.

Gianna Maria, 13, perished in the tragedy earlier today which has five confirmed fatalities.

It is believed they were on their way to basketball practice when the crash occurred in Calabasas, near central Los Angeles.

Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, also known as GiGi, was a talented youth basketball player who regularly attended LA Lakers games with her father.

His wife Vanessa is not believed to have been involved in the accident.

The pair share three other daughters, Natalia and Bianca and their newborn Capri.

Judging by the flight path taken, the chopper carrying Bryant circled at least 10 times over a period of 15 minutes before crashing.

Mohammad Tawhidi, a popular Muslim reformist Imam has taken to his twitter page to speak up against little kids wearing hijabs.

Tawhidi who wondered why parents will be covering their kids with scarfs and robes meant for grown women in a video he shared, stated that the act sexualizes little girls.

She’s a toddler that can’t even walk. Why do you cover her up with a robe and scarf that’s intended for mature women only? Even if you claim it’s a religious practice, it doesn’t apply to baby girls. You’re sexualizing a baby girl. You are sick.

To Sammie Peters, the 60 year old wife of Afro juju exponent, Sir Shina Peters, as long as her husband returns home to her, any side chic can go to hell!

Sammie Peter’s who celebrated her 60th birthday party penultimate week in Lagos amidst pomp and pageantry, opened up on her almost-40-year-old union with the handsome musician who will soon be 62 years old.

Speaking exclusively to Kemi Ashefon during an interview at their Lagos home, Sammie Peters revealed that their marriage had been intact despite all odds because she decided to understand what makes her kind of marriage work.

“I’m married to a musician and I knew from the beginning that women don’t allow musicians to rest. The journey of marriage has been hectic, beautiful, challenging but never rocky. I’ve never thought of divorce in the union and neither has my husband.

Even with some concubines lurking around her handsome husband?

She said, “That has not affected my marriage. I’d always said and believed that I’d rather share my husband than lose him to any other woman. That has always been my stance even as a young wife. This is not to encourage my husband or other husbands out there to cheat on their wives, but I adopted that attitude to stay happy and not develop high blood pressure. What I cannot change, I pray to God and He answers me. Nothing my husband does affects me. My love for him is unconditional and nothing can separate me from my husband. I understand him perfectly, we love each other and he has always respected me. He has never brought another woman to our matrimonial home. I love my husband, I would always love him and I don’t think the love will reduce no matter what happens to us.”

Still talking in glowing terms about her husband, Sammie Peters recalled how she met him. She said, “I met Sir Shina Peters when I was 21. Our parents were close and at a stage they claimed we were related. But we are not—we are just from the same town. We have been together all these years.”

Sammie advised women on the best approach to living happily in a marriage without suffering from high blood pressure. “When going into marriage, ask God for patience. Respect your husband even when he has done something wrong. Let him have his food and don’t shout on him. Give room for dialogue and allow him to tell lies even when you know he is a liar. Moreover, if you can just look away and know that men are natural cheats, you would be at peace and pray to God to make your husband respect you and the home. Even if he’s cheating, pray that he doesn’t embarrass you and he should be respectful about those affairs.”
She didn’t spare side chics either. “Women are women’s problems. Side chics are heartless and would be dating a married man. You break another woman’s home just because of money. Don’t make another woman cry. Leave their husbands alone,” she said.

Sandra Iheuwa, Ubi Franklin’s 4th baby mama has reacted to Toyin Lawani’s Instagram post about women blocking fathers from seeing their kids as punishment when a relationship goes bad.

Recall it was reported earlier that Toyin Lawani stated that women who do such can’t replace a father, no matter how hard they try.

Reacting to the stylist’s Instagram post, Sandra Iheuwa stated that some women do not block kids from their dads. According to the businesswoman, some men just don’t want to be in their child’s life, have love for them, see or hold them even at birth and after birth.

She further added that if the man doesn’t want to be a participating parent, it’s best he stays away as a child is better off that way.

Sandra wrote;

Some women do not block kids from their dad, some men just don’t want to be in their child’s life or have love for them to even see or hold them even at birth and after birth……if the man doesn’t want to be a participating parent it’s best he stays where he is and stays away because at times the kids will be better off without such father…..you can’t force them to parent. #truestory

In a rejoinder comment after being told that the man may not be avoiding the child but the mother of the child who might be dramatic, she insisted that the father is avoiding the child irrespective of how the mom behaves.

Sandra wrote;

The father is avoiding the child irrespective of how the mom behaves there are other avenues of seeing or being in the child’s life if the father doesn’t want to deal with the mother for whatever reason. There is no excuse whatsoever the father can call the mother chat with her all day but never for once ask about the child or schedule a day to see the child. You haven’t dealt with this kind of men before they will create excuses upon excuses for no seeing their own child. If the woman was dramatic or whatever why then release inside her and get her pregnant? ? it takes 2 to tangle. Some women are not the problem here. You haven’t met a dead beat and you do you will understand
