US government plans to add Nigeria and 6 other countries to travel ban list

A new executive order pending the signature of US President, Donald Trump, will see Nigeria and 6 other countries being added to a travel ban list.

Though the list is not final and might change, however citizens of Belarus, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Nigeria, Sudan and Tanzania will face bans on some visa categories if the executive order is signed.

In an interview with Wall Street Journal, Donald Trump disclosed that he is considering adding some countries to the travel ban list but he wasn’t specific about the affected countries.

Commenting on the travel ban list, a senior official in the Trump administration said countries that failed to comply with security requirements, including biometrics, information-sharing and counter-terrorism measures, faced the risk of limitations on U.S. immigration.

Nigerians and the way they communicate has been recognized by the international community as the Oxford English Dictionary has been updated to include some Nigerian words and expressions.

In the Oxford English Dictionary’s January update, 29 Nigerian words were added and it was announced in a blog post on the dictionary’s website.

In the post, the Oxford English Dictionary explained that some of the words were borrowed while others are coinages

A man was caught red-handed shoplifting in a boutique in Gwarimpa area of Abuja.

The man was caught via CCTV hiding some clothes in his underwear after a salesgirl at the boutique went to notify her boss of the price they bargained for an outfit he claimed he wanted to buy.

He was forced to bring out the clothes he hid before being handed over to the police.

A facebook user, Gwen Divy Ifeson shared photos of the man and wrote;

“God shows no favoritism” -Daddy Freeze blasts report that RCCG church was untouched in Abule Egba fire

One of the RCCG house fellowship centres in Abule Egba was untouched by the fire that destroyed houses and properties in the area and Pastor Adeboye reacted to it. His reaction elicited a response from OAP Daddy Freeze.

Pastor Adeboye responded to the RCCG house untouched by the fire by quoting a section of the bible about the plague passing over the houses of the Israelites because of the blood of the lamb on their doors. The Israelites were spared but the Egyptians were not.

However, Freeze felt the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God was being insensitive in his reaction so he criticized him for it.

The Director of Public Health, Enugu State, Dr Boniface Okolo, has cautioned Nigerians against the consumption of soaked garri to avoid contacting Lassa fever.

Okolo, who gave the warning in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Saturday in Enugu, said the rats that caused the disease were mostly in contact with Nigerian most popular staple food ‘garri,’ a cassava product.

He added that it was necessary to discourage consumption of soaked garri since it did not require boiled water. Okolo noted that boiled water could go a long way to kill bacteria caused by pest or rodents in garri.

“It is better that the cassava flakes called garri is used for ‘eba’, because of the use of hot water.

“We in the state health ministry are waging total war against rodents through sensitisation, that is what we are doing to ensure we do not have victim of Lassa fever in the state.

“We are also sensitising the public to ensure that their fruits and raw vegetables are properly washed if they must be consumed them raw and cook to the appropriate temperature. “The best practices for food storage should be encouraged to prevent epidemic.

”We should always make sure that we use air-tight clean plastic containers to preserve our foodstuff to avoid Lassa fever and other diseases,” he said.

Nigerians on Twitter are dragging to filth, the chairman of Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, James Momoh, after he went on stage to shout ”I have a dream that Nigeria will have 24 hours power”.

Momoh was attending a conference centered on electricity and as he was about to make his speech, he felt like channeling his inner ”Martin Luther King” and as he shared his dream of stable electricity power supply to Nigerians.

However, Nigerians who have lived through decades of unfulfilled promises and unstable power supply, responded by saying you cannot ”motivationally” talk electricity into existence. They pointed out that when Martin Luther King used the famous lines, he was already working and not dreaming.

A prisoner has been sentenced to 12 years in jail for asking a guard to charge his mobile phone.

Willie Nash, 39, was jailed for 12 years in August 2018, with his case coming to light earlier this month after an unsuccessful appeal.

Nash was booked into Newton County Jail in Mississippi in early 2018. While there he gave a guard his cellphone to charge for him but that got him into trouble because it’s a contraband device.

The jail worker took the phone to a sheriff’s deputy to report the incident.

Nash initially denied the phone was his when he realized he was in trouble, but eventually admitted he owned it, and shared the passcode needed to unlock it. He told his jailers he had been using it to text his wife to tell her that he was in prison.

Mississippi state law says inmates in jails and prisons are banned from owning a cellphone, with sentences for doing so ranging from three years to 15 years.

The judge who sentenced Nash told him he was lucky he didn’t get the maximum sentence, given his previous convictions for burglary.

Nash launched an appeal against the prison term, calling his sentence “grossly disproportionate to the crime.”

His lawyers said it violated the US Constitution’s Eighth Amendment, which bans cruel and unusual punishments, NBC News reported. But Nash’s appeal was dismissed by the Mississippi Supreme Court, with Justice James D Maxwell highlighting that the sentence fell within the statutory range.

Another Justice, Leslie D King, agreed that while the sentence was sound, the case itself demonstrated “a failure of our criminal justice system on multiple levels.”

Nash is scheduled to be freed from prison in February 2029.

Popular Nigerian singer, Davido has reacted to a tweet making rounds online, “acknowledging” that he isn’t Ifeanyi’s biological father.

The saga began when Peruzzi‘s former label boss King Patrick claimed that Davido‘s girl, Chioma used to be Peruzzi’s side chick.

Few days after the allegation, a screenshot of a supposed tweet by Davido trended, the tweet was a reply to controversial Journalist, Kemi Olunloyo’s tweet claiming that Peruzzi was Chioma’s pimp… The fake tweet reads, “I’m sorry for saying thrash to you back then, now I realize you’re saying the truth, only God knows if I am truly Ifeanyi biological father. Nothing is hidden under the sun for ever, I am just praying for God to see me through this hard time.”

A mother-of-two with size 38KK breasts is in serious pain because of her massive chest which has made her ‘life a living nightmare.’

29-year-old Ms. Sullivan is finding it hard to sleep or walk for more than 15 minutes because of constant pains around her body.

She was reportedly denied reduction surgery by her NHS doctors, who classed the procedure as cosmetic. Now, the mother of two is now trying to crowdfund the sum of £8,000 to pay for her operation to reduce the size of her breats.

Ms. Sullivan, from Selby in North Yorkshire, said: ‘They have made my life a living nightmare in so many ways.

‘The pain is constant. It begins from the moment I wake up and lasts until I go to bed.

‘I take quite strong painkillers but they often don’t work at all. I’ve had sores and open wounds on my breasts and they’re absolute agony.

‘The back pain from the sheer weight of them is terrible too. I struggle to walk for more than 15 minutes without them hurting.

‘I’m very self-conscious about the size of them too. It’s the first thing people notice about me.’

The mother of two said she became aware of the size of her chest at the age of 10 when they had already grown into a B-cup.

According to her, the massive breasts were a distraction at school and it was very embarrassing when she’s being stared at.

She said: ‘At school people would always comment about how big they were. Boys always stared at me and it made me feel very uncomfortable from quite an early age.

‘All the girls used to be envious of me and say “I wish I had what you had” but the reality is that it’s been a real struggle. I’m self-conscious all the time, it makes me not want to go to places and do things.

If I know I’m going somewhere nice I get anxious about what I’m going to wear and how I can minimise the size of them.’

Ms.Sullivan, also complained that finding fitting clothes is a challenge for her because of the size of her breasts.

She said: ‘I have to buy my bras online as most shops don’t stock my size. When they come they’re like granny bras and they’re not very nice.

‘I struggle to find tops and nice clothes that show my figure. I just feel comfortable wearing baggy t-shirts and my partner’s tops, I can’t wear anything flattering.’

Mother of two serving as a surrogate mother for another family dies during childbirth

A San Diego mother of two who was serving as a surrogate for another family, died tragically during childbirth last week, according to a GoFundMe set up to help her family.

In the fund-raiser, created by a close family friend named Jaime Herwehe, it was revealed that Michelle Reaves started helping another family have children after she had her own, and was on her second surrogacy for the same family before her sudden death.

Michelle, who was described as a “mama, wifey and beautiful soul,” passed away last week after “one complication led to the next and she fought for her life.” The child survived, but she didn’t.

“For those of you who didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Michelle, she will always be known for the love she had for her family. Michelle has the best, most sarcastic, funny personality and always had you laughing. More information about the Anambra-based man who was accused of pushing down his girlfriend from the 5th floor of their apartment in Onitsha has emerged.

The suspect was reportedly forced to marry the deceased after he impregnated her while working as his salesgirl.

The man who allegedly called his “in-laws” to inform them that his pregnant girlfriend was missing, was allegedly busted and found smoking cigarettes after a neighbour saw the lady fall from their apartment into another compound during a quarrel.

The man is from nsukka but lives in Onitsha, he impregnated his sales girl from abia state…the family of the girl forced him to marry her.
So on Wednesday night,after she finished cooking she went down stairs to call him to come eat.
He went up and they started having misunderstanding… The girl is 8mnths pregnant.
He beat her to death and to avoid traces,he threw her body from the 5th floor to another building close to them.
He called his in-laws and told them the girl is missing to cover up.
But he never knew some neighbours overheard them while quarrelling and someone saw when the girl fell .

The football fan who was caught out looking very worried after pitch cameras filmed him kissing the woman next to him at a match has reportedly admitted he was cheating on his partner.

The public display of affection was captured by cameras at half-time of the friendly between Barcelona SC and Delfin in Ecuador on Saturday, and it didn’t take long for the video to make the rounds on social media.

The man, who The Metro identified as Deyvi Andrade, was seen cuddling close to his companion and kissing her before whipping his arm away and looking very guilty after realizing he was being filmed.

Suspected kidnapper remanded in prison after claiming he abducted missing Ondo child

Suspected kidnapper remanded

39-year-old Chibuzor Elike has been remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre following his arrest after claiming he abducted one-year-old Eniola Gold Kolawole, who went missing at Sotitobire Miracle Centre in Oshinle quarters in 2019.

The suspect who was arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Akure on Monday January 20, was arrested in River State after weeks of investigation.

Elike reportedly threatened Bisola, wife of the founder of the church on December 14, 2019 at about 11:30pm and also demanded for N800,000 as settlement before releasing the boy. He allegedly threatened to kill the boy if he doesn’t receive the money.

Though the suspect’s counsel, Isaac Adubazi begged for admission of bail to his client in the most liberal term, Chief Magistrate Mayomi Olanipekun ordered that he be remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre pending legal advice from Director of Public Prosecution.

The case was subsequently adjourned till February 20, 2020.

A young Nigerian man who is set to wed his American lover ten months after they met on Instagram and fell in love with each other, has said that Nigerian women do not know the true meaning of love.

Isa Sulaiman, 23, and his lover Janine Sanchez, 46, who is a chef in California met face to face for the first time when the mother of two flew into Kano over the weekend.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, Isa berated Nigerian women after finding love with a white lady.

Isa also disclosed that his family has given him the go-ahead to marry Janine and he’s now planning to wed her in March before moving with her to America.

On her part, Janine expressed her excitement on how she has been treated since she arrived in Nigeria, and added that she is extremely happy Isa’s family agreed for them to get married.

Chief Ignatius Odunukwe, a popular Anambra billionaire and owner of Fireman Generator, was kidnapped and murdered by his abductors and the moment police recovered his body was caught on video.

The businessman, who has businesses and properties in different states in Nigeria, was lured by his kidnappers who posed as real estate agents interested in buying a property from him.

The billionaire who was kidnapped in December, 2019, has been found dead in a forest in #Lekki #Ajah, #Lagos.

According to reports, Odunukwe abductors, who later turned his killers had posed that they wanted to buy his Abuja property valued at N900million and they arranged to meet to consummate the transaction.

Instead, he was kidnapped. Weeks after, his body was found, dismembered,”chopped into pieces”.

The suspects who identified themselves as Arinze, Solomon, Cletus and Daniel Ibeaju took turns to confirm that the body in the bag belongs to the missing businessman who they killed.

British-Nigerian Actor, John Boyega bought his parents a mansion in London, United Kingdom, and their reaction was priceless.

In the video shared on social media, the ‘star wars’ actor took his parents to a house under the guise that they were coming for an interview.

While seated at the ‘venue’ awaiting the commencement of the interview, the actor revealed to them there was no interview and he only brought them to their new house.
