A 30-year-old man has taken his own life after being deported to Nigeria from Dubai.
Emmanuel Obiefuna started making suicidal posts via his Facebook page and all attempts by his family and friends to prevail on him, were fruitless and he never disclosed his exact location in Lagos.
It was also gathered that he was also always blocking anyone that talked him out of his plan to commit suicide.
Some of his friends have taken to his Facebook page to express their shock at the news of him taking his own life. See his suicidal posts and comments by friends below.
A ‘Winners Chapel’ Pastor, Moses Oyeleke has narrated his horrific experience after spending 7 months in Boko Haram captivity.
The Pastor who was abducted alongside his assistant Abraham Amuta, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member along Chibok road in Borno state in May, confirmed that his freedom was facilitated by the Borno state government, Kalthum Foundation for Peace and Initiative for Peace Building (two NGOs).
Speaking with pressmen the office of Usman Kadafur, deputy governor of the state, the cleric said ;
“We were on our way to Chibok when they caught us and took us to Yale; from there, they took a detour and finally took us to Sambisa.
“It was the two of us, myself and my brother, who was not released. They have promised us that when they finish discussions, they’ll release them in December; himself and the elder sister of this girl I was released with.
“I am very happy today that we have been rescued because where we are coming from, we have come from a place of darkness to light; that is why my heart is filled with joy because I have seen my family, friends, and associates.
“I stayed peacefully with them for up to seven months. Many times they have requested me to convert to Islam, their preachers had preached to me a lot of times but you know when you have wisdom, you relate with people in a way that would not lead to quarrel.
“When they come to preach, I pay attention to everything they said and when they asked me questions about things that I know will cause problems if I respond, I always tell them I don’t know so that I don’t say things that would offend them.”

Mbongeni ‘Doctor’ Mthombeni, an Engineering final year student met his untimely death after he was shot and killed during a robbery gone wrong in eSikhaleni, few hours before he was to write his final examination.
It was gathered that two armed robbers approached Mthombeni and a female friend near Jabulani City at about 8 pm on Thursday, October 31. The student was accompanying his friend back to her house after she had returned his laptop at his rental cottage.
During the robbery, shots were fired, and according to reports Mbongeni and his friend fled the scene and ran in different directions.
The frantic friend reported the incident at the eSikhawini police station minutes after it happened.
Police attended to the crime scene but found no clues. Mbongeni’s whereabouts were unknown.
On Friday students walking to campus discovered his body in bushes with a gunshot wound in his lower abdomen.
The incident sent shock waves through the residents, posing a question about the safety of students living in rental cottages outside the campus.
‘Many students have reported cases, yet there are no responses from the police. We demand justice for our brother and we won’t rest until criminals here are rooted out,’ said SRC president, Ndlelenhle Mlaba.
“He will be sorely missed by his lecturers and fellow students,’ said the statement.
A Woman from Michigan spent months planning her daughter’s fifth birthday party before finally settling on hosting it at a local bakery called Whipped Bakery. However, according to her, it turned out a huge disaster.
Alexandra Schroeder says she spent as much as $370 to rent space at the bakery for the special event, and to have them bake her daughter a unicorn themed cake of her choice.
Things however did not go quite well when she arrived at the bakery for the big day and when she asked to see the cake, she was told it wasn’t finished. When the finished product finally emerged from the kitchen, Schroeder couldn’t believe what she was looking at.

A 12-year-old Nigerian boy, Chika Ofili has been lauded and given the TruLittle Hero award for discovering a new way to divide in mathematics.
Chika’s mathematic’s teacher, Miss Mary Ellis who is also the head of the mathematics department at Westminster Under School said the 12-year-old discovered the new formula while solving a holiday assignment.
The book had several divisibility tests which are used to quickly work out whether a number is exactly divisible by either 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 before you start dividing, but had no easy or memorable test listed for checking divisibility by 7.
Chika however solved this and also had an algebraic proof to back it up. His new formula involves taking the last digit of any whole number, multiplying it by 5 and then adding it to the remaining part of the number to get a new number. If this new number is divisible by 7, then the original number is divisible by 7

A vigilante group in Delta State has apprehended a lady and her boyfriend for stealing money from the bank account of her widowed sister, a mother of three.
It was reported that the lady conspired with her boyfriend, Vincent, stole her sister’s ATM card and withdrew the sum of N190, 000, which was part of the money contributed by sympathizers and given to the widow after the burial of her husband which was supposed to be used in the upkeep of the children.

Florence Otedola, Nigerian disc jockey and humanitarian better known as DJ Cuppy, says her wedding ceremony would be lowkey and less stressful compared to the first-ever Gold Gala for her Cuppy Foundation.
She disclosed this on Sunday night in a statement addressed to Femi Otedola, Nigerian business magnate who doubles as her father, during a charity event, held in Abuja, to raise funds for the advancement of children-related humanitarian causes in north-eastern Nigeria.
After expressing her gratitude to Yemi Osinbajo, vice-president, Cuppy endeared her father as “the Gelato King,” urging him not to worry as her wedding wouldn’t be as massive or stressful as the gala.
“This is a very emotional night for me. It gives me great pleasure to welcome all of you to the first-ever Gold Gala hosted by the Cuppy Foundation. 26-year-old, soon to be 27-year-old me, I’m so humbled that you’ve taken time out from your busy schedules. People have flown from around the world and the country and I’m so grateful,” she said.
“I stand before you in my capacity as an ambassador for Save the Children. But, most of all, a daughter; a sister; a friend and a performing artiste to most of you. “I founded this Cuppy Foundation as a way of giving back to children. As many of you know, I’m very passionate about what I do. And, through this foundation, I have contributed to many Nigerians; those with disabilities, visiting places around the country. I have also supported children through music,” she added.
“Save the Children has exposed me to a world I never imagined. However, nothing prepared me for my recent visit. I was able to visit Save the Children’s work in Maiduguri, Bornu State. At their stabilization centre, the first child I met in the hospital was only two years old. She was so malnourished that she needed a blood transfusion.
“After then, I met more and more sick children dying, including a 16-year-old mother who was also malnourished. Because of how serious this problem is, I was told that I was only meeting the lucky few who were able to make it the medical centre. My heart broke and it’s still broken as I stand.
“Ever since that visit, my determination to save Nigerian children has grown. I have committed my time, my strength and my passion for this Gold Gala to help Nigerian children. I beg you all to join us in supporting the Save the Children cause. A quick note to all of you, I’m happy to add extra zeros to any amount you want to donate.”

BBNaija 2019 Star, Mike Edwards has revealed that he would not have gone to the Big Brother Naija house if his wife had not given her consent.
He granted an interview to Newtelegraph and gave insights on what life has been since emerging as the first runner-up of the reality show.

What is your view on the fact that Nigerians can’t stop talking about how you stayed faithful to your wife during the course of BBNaija 4?
I am a strong individual, a strong man and I didn’t show my weakness, so, to me that was just amazing. I expect nothing less from my girl. To remain in the house for 99 days I never had any personal doubts for me. It’s just normal. I made a commitment before I even said I do, I made it clear to myself to be faithful till death.
But was there any time you were tempted by any of the ladies or anything you saw?
No, there was no time like that. It was all about my resolve from the beginning.
Your wife has hinted of your plan to relocate to Nigeria from your UK base. Do you plan to see that through?
Yes, I plan to move to Nigeria immediately. My wife and I are making plans together. Right now, we are still discussing and making arrangements. For now, we are taking it day by day.
Being an athlete already means you are in the limelight of sorts, why did you decide go for Big Brother?
It was simply because I consider it one of the greatest platforms in the world and I wanted to challenge myself by going for it. To be honest, it was something I saw in the challenge and it was the fear of the unknown. It was more attractive to me because I knew that it was what I wanted to do, challenge myself beyond. You know, if you do the same thing expecting different results, it’s insanity. So, I knew, let’s try something like this and see how far we can go and it ended up being a great opportunity. I will never regret it.
What were some of the sacrifices you would say you made in the BBNaija house towards winning?
Of course, the sacrifices I made were disconnecting from my wife for 99 days. If I didn’t have the consent of my wife I wouldn’t have taken part in the show. I am a married man, I don’t have to discuss things that don’t need to be explained, and I think that’s the relationship I have with my wife.
Did you at any point think it was getting more difficult than you envisaged
Those were the times when I thought Biggie was at least going to surprise me with a visit by my family members or someone I know but it never happened and I had to hang in there.

Disaster was averted in the early house of Monday, October 11 after a Tanker exploded at Pipeline Road, Gate Bus Stop along Ayobo Road in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
A Twitter user who shared a video from the scene of the incident said the explosion was caused by pipeline vandalism. He also disclosed that fire service officials were very much around to put out the fire.
