On the 23rd of April 2024, two brothers tragically lost their lives at a Nigerian policeman’s hand called Saheed SARS who is notoriously known among “Yahoo Boys” in Ibadan.
Iyanda Damilola was an Ibadan corps member who visited the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State, to witness the convocation ceremony of his brother, Femi.
After, both went to a lounge nearby to celebrate. They were there when they heard the noise of people fighting outside where they sat, prompting them to go investigate the source of the noice.
Shortly after, some policemen came and in a bid to clear the crowd that had gathered, started shooting directly at the crowd of onlookers.
Policeman Saheed shot Damilola in the head and Femi sustained fatal bullet wounds which he died from days later.
Students of LAUTECH have demanded a probe into this murder, stating the prolonged police brutality they allegedly suffer.
Saheed has been previously accused of steadily assaulting the students and had in fact bought a white Mercedes Benz off the shady proceedings.

A Nigerian man, identified as Olubunmi Abodunde, stands accused in a UK court of killing his wife, just months after their relocation from Nigeria to the UK.
The grim incident occurred in 2023 when Abodunde fatally assaulted his wife, Taiwo Abodunde, 41, leaving their three children without a mother.
The UK court recently heard chilling accounts of the incident. Police officers reported hearing repeated sounds of violence emanating from the house as Olubunmi Abodunde savagely attacked his wife.
Despite the disturbing noises, they hesitated to intervene because they were waiting for permission from a higher authority to break into the house.
By the time they gained access 25 minutes later, they found Taiwo Abodunde obviously dead with her skull brutally fractured.
On April 25, 2024, just as his trial for murder was about to commence, Olubunmi Abodunde, 48, abruptly changed his plea to “guilty,” with a possible sentence of life imprisonment.
Three Suffolk police officers are also being investigated for the way they handled the situation. They are under investigation for possible breaches of professional conduct, with two officers facing allegations of gross misconduct.
Before the tragic events unfolded, Olubunmi Abodunde’s jealousy and suspicion had strained his relationship with his wife, leading to accusations of infidelity. He had a record of being investigated by the police for domestic violence incidents.
The series of unfortunate events began on April 27, 2023, when police found Mrs. Abodunde with a split lip at their Newmarket home. Olubunmi Abodunde was arrested and released on bail later that day, with strict instructions to stay away from his wife.
Despite these directives, he returned home the following morning, leading to the tragic incident. Police arrived the house around 9.20am to question Mrs. Abodunde about the abuse episode but unfortunately found her dead.
A subsequent post-mortem examination revealed that she had been strangled until she fell unconscious, then he stamped on her until her ribs were broken. He, then, used their son’s skateboard to inflict further harm and finish her off. The blows were so violent that it destroyed the skateboard.
In court, Abodunde attempted to claim self-defense, alleging previous abuse from his wife. However, his account lacked substantiating evidence, and the severity of the attack suggested otherwise.
Following his arrest, Abodunde was hospitalized due to a purported mental episode. His defense lawyer cited medication as a potential influence on his behavior, though no medical evidence supported this claim.
It was gathered that the couple had immigrated to the UK from Nigeria in 2022. While Taiwo Abodunde worked as a care home assistant, her husband, a civil engineer, struggled to find a job in his field and resorted to taking shifts at Tesco and Wickes.
Speaking after the court hearing, Detective Inspector Dan Connick said,
“This was an awful attack on a woman that has had a lasting impact on the community and, most importantly, on the victim’s family.
“We are pleased that Taiwo’s family will no longer have to go through the pain of a trial.
“Our thoughts remain with Taiwo’s family and friends and hope this result will bring some small comfort to them.”
Before her demise, Taiwo Abodunde worked for Cambridge Manor Care Home, which provides dementia, residential and respite care.
A spokesman for the facility, which is owned by TLC Care, said:
“We are all deeply shaken and upset by the tragic death of Taiwo, who was a much-loved member of our home community.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family. Taiwo always cared for those we support with compassion and kindness, and she will be greatly missed by all of us and our residents.”
Aboodunde was remanded in jail and will be sentenced on May 9.

She revealed that the intimate video was released online after enduring five months of threats and extortion, despite efforts made by law enforcement to apprehend the perpetrators.
Serwaa went on to express her sincere apologies for the distress and disappointment caused to her loved ones and family by the leaked footage. She emphasized that she has learned invaluable lessons from this experience for the future.

“On April 2, 2024, someone posted an intimate video of me on the internet. This came almost 5 months after threats and extortion, along with efforts by the police to bring the extortionists to book.
The video (which was made 5 years ago) has severely embarrassed me, my family and my loved ones. It has also exposed my employers, and the businesses and brands I represent to embarrassment.
Additionally, the video has been a source of frustration to all who have been my support, inspiration, and encouragement throughout my journey in the media.
At the time, 5 years ago, I considerably underestimated the extent of my influence, my potentials, what I would become, and what I would come to represent to this society.
Sincerely, I say sorry for the embarrassment, disappointment, and frustration which this matter has caused to my family and loved ones, to the distinguished businesses and brands I represent, and to you.
In all, I have learnt deeply useful lessons for the future.

Self-proclaimed alpha male, Andrew Tate, has sparked a huge controversy on social media after sharing his opinion about sex.
The online personality, in a post shared on Twitter (now X), stated that any man who has sex with a woman for pleasure is gay because sex should be for procreation alone.
According to him, sex is for making children, and any man above the age of 40 who has less than five children is probably gay.
Andrew Tate, who is known for teaching men how to be alpha males, emphasized that sex is not to ‘feel good’.

Nigerians have stormed the social media accounts of Nigerian singer Zinoleesky to drag him over his recent comment about music.
The artiste had earlier shared via his Instagram story a picture of his Ferrari steering while shading some songs in his caption.
His caption read; “My album coming to save y’all from all this shitty music”.
Although Zinoleesky had shared the image in a bid to promote his upcoming album it had the opposite effect as the text he attached to the image didn’t sit well with the majority.
According to some, he didn’t have the right to talk down on newly released music because he wanted to promote his album, while others noted that he is still canceled.

Nigerian lady, who identifies as @bellobusayo shares her parent’s reaction after she wore ripped jeans to their house, opining it was indiscipline as a Muslim lady.
In the video shared on Instagram, her mum and aunt’s voice could be heard lamenting over the ripped jeans. The two women complained that the jeans were not appropriate as it was revealing her thighs.
She disclosed that the African women were indirectly telling her what outfit she should wear as she persistently convinced them that the ripped jeans were fitting. Her aunt shows concern about a Muslim lady dressed in ripped jeans.

Nigerian comedian and actor,Seyi Law, recently clashed with a man who accused him of leaving a club with a call girl in Abuja.
The Twitter user had taken to the microblogging platform to share a video of the married comedian with a friend at the club and alleged that they both left the club in the company of two prostitutes.

An online user who identifies as @shinettwhas shared via the microblogging platform X, how he was unlawfully arrested and assaulted by the Nigerian police.
He stated in his tweet that they ordered him out of his car, placed handcuffs on his wrist, and refused to tell him why he had been arrested.
His tweet read;
“I’m distraught & still in shock. Stepped out around 2 am to drop something for a friend at Orchid Road in Lekki, Some “officers” in full black holding guns double-crossed my car, ordering me to park & come down. With no questions asked, they collected my car keys and started pushing me into their small bus (korope) with no plates, took my phone from me instantly while forcing me to wear handcuffs. I kept on asking them one question throughout this ordeal, What is my offense? They successfully dragged me into the bus after yelling at me & threatening to beat me up & started driving past Lekki, one of their officers drove my car behind & I kept on requesting for my phone to inform my people of my whereabouts; all I was getting was threats & insults. He revealed that he saw the man praying in the hospital corridor but had no idea his wife and unborn child were dead.
According to his tweet, he heard the man praying that God should save his wife and unborn child because they had waited for 14 years.
