A Nigerian man has shared a heart-wrenching account of his mum’s death, 7 days after he launched a search campaign for her on Twitter.

Recall, @lloydifyd had raised an alarm of his mum Rev Mrs Stella Nwanjah, being kidnapped by 4 armed men in Rumuigbo area of Rivers State on August 1.

However giving an update on the search for his kidnapped mum, the distraught man revealed that she was shot in the face after a ransom of N20m was not paid.

Indigenes of Anambra state residing in Malaysia have raised alarm over the increasing number of their female members venturing into prostitution in the Asian country.

Chairman of the Anambra State Welfare Association Malaysia, Okwunwanne Mmaduka, made this known at a press conference in Awka, the Anambra state capital on Thursday August 8th. According to Okwunwanne, the situation has become a “huge concern, embarrassing and unbearable.”

“We have rescued most of them and sent them back to Nigeria, while some others have been sent to school in Malaysia by us. The trend is giving us a bad name in that country. ASWAM is disturbed by the increasing cases of Anambra State women and girls in Malaysia falling victims of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.”

ASWAM is therefore, employing community-based and state-wide campaigns to combat the menace. We are taking the campaigns to families, communities and traditional institutions here in Anambra State.

We are raising awareness among our young people, parents, government and the public on the dangers therein. All hands must be on deck in this fight,” he said

He added that the state governor, Willie Obiano, has been alerted and efforts are being made to resensitize their female folks.
