A 27-year-old housewife has asked an Ado-Ekiti customary court to dissolve her 13-year-old marriage to her husband, one Azeez Solomon.
The woman, who resides at Fabian Hotel, along Ilawe road in Ado-Ekiti, told the court that she had made efforts to make the union work but Solomon had been impossible.
According to her, her husband was not performing his responsibilities in the family. The mother of three said she was the one paying the children’s school fees until last year, when he took over.
Favour said whenever her husband misbehaved and she pointed it out, he would retort, saying he would kill her and nothing would happen. She added that whenever they had s*xual intercourse, her husband would demand for the cloth she used to clean up, saying she found that strange and had to stop him from having s*x with her.
The woman alleged Solomon was fond of patronising a herbalist, especially when he was ill, and fond of bringing black soap to the home. Favour said her husband wouldn’t allow her access to his room, which he allegedly locked all the time.
Admitting that Solomon assisted her financially when she started her business of selling phones and accessories, she said he, however, asked her to leave the shop he had offered her for the business when her business boomed.
“He said I was disturbing him, whereas it was the business I was using to maintain the children. I pleaded with him but he refused,” she said.
Favour maintained she was no more interested in the union and wanted custody of the children – Marvelous, 9, and Christian, 5, both boys, and Mercy, 2, a female. Forty-year-old Solomon, a resident of No. 2, Omisanajan Street, Ado-Ekiti, said his wife was his sales girl when he met her and they both fell in love and decided to marry each other.
He added that even after the marriage, they didn’t separate the business between them. He said after the union, his wife started misbehaving, and denied her allegation that he was not paying the children’s school fees.
Solomon denied the allegation of non-access to his room, saying he still loved his wife and the court should plead with her on his behalf to come back home. The president of the court, Mrs Olayinka Akomolede, adjourned the case till October 24, 2019 for judgment.
A teenage armed robber who has been terrorizing residents of the Agga community in Rivers state has been apprehended.
According to reports, the armed robber was caught and tied with rope by local security body, (OSPAC) Onelga security planning & Advisory Committee.
It was gathered that the criminal who has been identified as a native of Ndoni operated using a local constructed gun.

Founder and Senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to dismiss the rape lawsuit filed against him by Busola Dakolo.
The embattled cleric who asked for dismissal of the lawsuit on grounds of incompetence and frivolity, also demanded to be awarded N50m as damages.
Pastor Fatoyinbo filed the objection notice before Federal High Court, two weeks after Busola through her lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi, approached same court, demanding for a clearly worded apology on the front page of at least two national newspapers and two national television stations for seven days running consecutively.

Late Yomi who became popular in the 1980s and 1990s with the popular TV series ‘Third Eye’ which aired on NTA died at the age of 39.
Born on May 31, 1980, Yomi is an ex-student of Queens College, Lagos. She played the role of ‘Uze’, the daughter who provided Inspector Best Idafa (Olu Jacobs) with clues for solving criminal cases in the TV series.
Her father in real life was Engineer Yomi Adeyemi-Wilson, a track star in the 1960s and 1970s.

The Edo state police command has apprehended a 44-year old man identified as Edoghogho Omorogbe, for the killing of his mother in law, sister-in-law and a six-month old baby.
The said incident occurred on September 10 at their residence at Iguadolor Community in Ovia North East local government area of Edo State, and the mutilated bodies of the deceased identified as Mrs. Alice Omorogbe 52, Mrs. Blessing Efe 25 and her baby were discovered the following day.
Edoghogho who spared a 2-year-old girl while carrying out the attack, said he was angry with his in-laws for hiring boys to beat him whenever he has issues with his wife.
“I am a tipper driver but since the rains started I was doing menial jobs.
“I killed them out of annoyance because my mother -in- law used boys to beat me up. She would say I am talking to my wife. If I quarrel with my wife, she will send boys to beat me up.
“I didn’t know the cutlass will meet the baby. After I killed them, I ran away. Later I came out and went to tell my father what I did. I have not seen my wife since I killed her mother and sister.”
The Edo State Police Commissioner, Danmallam Abubakar said the arrested suspect will soon be charged to court.

A Nigerian lawyer, Malachy Odo, has given the narrative of how a Nigerian lady falsely accused her younger brother of killing their rich younger sister in Lagos in 2017.
According to Odo, the accuser had planned that the younger brother be remanded in prison for life so she can inherit their late sister’s properties.
The lawyer, talked on the murder of the lady by her gateman, how he was apprehended and the aftermath of her demise which featured the greed over her assets by her younger sister.
He shared how the younger sister who was never close to the deceased when she was alive, returned from foreign land after hearing about her demise and greedily chased after her late sister’s assets but first had to try and put her elder brother behind bars for the alleged murder of their sister, so as to truncate him from hindering her plans.
Controversial Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola better known by his stage name, Naira Marley will be back in court in October 22nd for the commencement of his fraud trial.
The singer was arrested on his birthday, March 10th 2019 by operatives of the EFCC on allegations of advance fee scam and related cyber crimes.
After his arrest, the anti-graft agency filed 11 charges against Naira Marley bordering on alleged cybercrime and identity theft. The alleged crimes were in contravention of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act and the Cyber Crimes Act, which the artiste risks seven years in jail if found guilty.
The charges with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 were filed before a Lagos State High Court. 10 days after his arrest, Naira Marley was arraigned before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.
He was however granted bail on May 30th but he remained in custody for another two weeks as he couldn’t fulfil his bail condions on time which at the time was ‘the sum of N2m, two sureties in like sum. The judge also said one of the sureties must be a civil servant not below Grade Level 10 and must own a landed property in Lagos State.
The judge directed the EFCC to verify the bail terms and adjourned until October 22 for commencement of trial.
The University of Lagos, UNILAG has said it did not approve the banner which had the Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos State, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, as one of the invited guests for a program on the campus.
The university management, in a statement on Friday, September 20th dismissed the reactions trailing the invitation on the social media as mere propaganda. UNILAG had been attacked on social media on Thursday for inviting the transport union leader to the campus.
On Twitter, in particular, many had wondered why MC Oluomo was honoured with an invitation when a former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, was barred from addressing students when he was invited for a similar gathering a few weeks earlier.
The UNILAG Principal Assistant Registrar, Communication Unit, Mrs Taiwo Oloyede, confirmed that the event was organised by students in the Geography Department of the school and that it held on Tuesday.
She said,
“The management of the University of Lagos hereby notifies parents, guardians and other stakeholders of the university that it is aware of the event to which the Lagos State Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, was allegedly invited.
“The event was a colloquium on ‘Transport Efficiency: Employing Lagos Terrain Alternatives.’ organised by the National Association of Geography Students (NAGS) on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. “Relevant stakeholders in the transport sector invited to the event were: Arc. Abiodun Dabiri, MD, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA); Engr. Ibrahim Alhassan, Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation; Dr. Olusegun Spencer, Director, Amalgamated Mega-City Transport; Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, MD, Lagos Waterways Authority; Dr. Adewale Sanni, Station Manager, Lufthansa and Dr. Charles Asenime, LASU School of Transport, PG Coordinator.
“Although Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) was one of those to be invited, which informed the draft banner with his picture, currently trending on social media; the approved banner did not have Alhaji Akinsanya as an invited guest, neither did he attend the event.
“For the record, events are organised on campus to expose students to current trends in the academia and industries. During such events, experts and relevant stakeholders with considerable knowledge and experience on the theme of such activities are carefully selected and invited to come and share their thoughts with our students. The goal is to produce students that are locally relevant and globally competitive. Therefore, the general public is enjoined to disregard any propaganda making the rounds on social media about the propriety of inviting a particular guest or not.”

As the fight between Liz Anjorin and Toyin Abraham intensified, Olori Ajoke got messages from Instagram users, asking her to talk to her husband, the Alaafin of Oyo, to call Anjorin to order.

A video that is trending on social media has captured the moment a female robber tried escaping through the window after robbing a bank in Adum area of Kumasi in Ghana.
In the video, the lady threw the money down from the window and jumped down to get the money, but she was caught and arrested by the bank’s security operatives.

A former Guinean Muslim, Grace Koulibaly took to social media to raise an alarm over an alleged persecution after converting to Christianity.
The 20-year-old who converted to Christianity 3 years ago, said her family recently came back to Guinea for a vacation which she claimed was a plan to force her back to Islam. Grace said her family took away her International passport, green card, social security, all other forms of documents, her phone and all the money she had three days after arriving Guinea.
However after she refused re-converting to Islam, she was told by her family that it’s either it goes their own way or she gets killed. Grace revealed that she is currently hiding somewhere in Nigeria as the police and the Guinean embassy are looking for her to take her back to Guinea after she escaped from the custody of an Islamic cleric.
She wrote;
My name is Saran Koulibaly, also known as Grace. I am a Guinean and a permanent legal resident of the United States. I am an ex Muslim. 3 years ago, while in the U.S. I converted to become a Christian. I didn’t convert to Christianity because anyone forced me to, I chose to become a Christian based on a revelation I had of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I became a Christian I informed my family (who are Muslims) about it, but they were not pleased with it, they did everything for me to revert to Islam, which included physical abuse. I had to run away from home and stay with a friend for a week. When I left home, my family called and told me they wanted me to come back home, and they were sorry for treating me they way they treated me, they told me they were ready to accept me as a Christian, so I came back home.
In July, my entire family decided to come back home for vacation in Guinea, so we all came for a vacation in Guinea, but it was actually a plan to force me back to Islam. Three days after my arrival in Guinea, my family took away my International passport, green card, social security, all other forms of documents, my phone and all the money I had. They told me, they brought me back to Guinea to force me back into Islam, they said they couldn’t do it while we were in the United States because they knew they were going to be arrested for imposing their religion on me.
As a Christian, I declared my stand to the whole family, I told them I cannot go back to Islam, and they shouldn’t force me to believe in something I no longer want to believe in, I have made up my mind to stand for Christ and nothing will make me go back. They were furious, they told me there is no such thing as a Muslim becoming a Christian, they told me it’s either I do it their own way or I get killed.
I was taking to a muslim priest, who advised me to come back to Islam or he would force me into it. I told him I can’t renounce Christ, and I am ready to die for Him. So the man used force, he told my parents to go out of the room, he pushed me against the floor, he held my mouth, and my nose for so long I couldn’t breathe I almost die, at that moment I told the Lord, “ if I die, please forgive me of all my sins and receive my soul into your kingdom” I didn’t think I was going to come out alive. but Grace will not die until my assignment on earth is over.
Afterwards, I was able to escape, when I had access to a phone I contacted my church, Rapture Ready Endtime Ministry, and told them I was in captivity that I needed their help to escape. By the grace of God, they helped me to escape. Since I had no passport to take a flight, I traveled by road for 6days from Guinea to Nigeria for safety. I came to Nigeria because it’s where my church is, and my life in my own country was in danger, my church didn’t or my pastor didn’t abduct me, they only helped me and provided a safe place for me when my life was in danger.
As I am writing this, I am actually hiding somewhere in Nigeria, the police and the Guinean embassy are looking for me to take me back to Guinea. They have filed a case of abduction against my pastor, which is FALSE, I was not abducted by anyone, I decided to flee to Nigeria for safety. As of now, they have detained him, and falsely accused him of abducting me.
They said, if I don’t come out they will not release him. I am sure once they lay eyes on me, they will detain me and take me forcefully to Guinea. I am afraid, because if I come out they are ready to forcefully take me back to Guinea. All I know is that if I find myself back in Guinea, it is over for me. I need to bring this out to the public notice because first of all, I don’t feel safe anymore, secondly, my rights are being violated. What’s happening to our human rights? Many are being killed silently and nothing is being done about it. Share everywhere until it gets to the authorities that will stand up to defend our rights.
Jesus is still on the throne. His name will be glorified in all the earth.
