Kenyan socialite, Vera Sidika has debunked claims of reverting to being black, because she is broke and can’t maintain her skin again.
Speaking on Clouds FM, she revealed her source of wealth as she not only owns a sprawling mansion in an urban neighbourhood in Kenya, but also a Range Rover.
“Some (people) claimed that I was broke so I couldn’t afford to maintain myself, I have businesses honey so I am good…It was a one-off thing (the skin lightening procedure) so people who are saying that I’m broke maybe think that I get to do this every day but it’s not the case.”
The Kenyan socialite revealed that she makes money from club appearances, her detox tea Veetox and the Vera Sidika Beauty Parlour she has been running for a year now.
“Making club appearances is a side hustle, I also have Veetox and a beauty Parlour. Veetox is really big because I have no competition. Veetox gets sold out every other time and I don’t even push it as much because it markets itself through word of mouth. I sell it not only in Kenya but other parts of Africa. I have in Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria and I’m getting into Ghana soon,” Vera said.
“When I’m in Kenya, my club appearance fee is different from Tanzania, Uganda or going to China or Malaysia or even the USA. Because when I travel to America to host an event I consider it’s like 25-hour flight, so that’s like a whole day wasted, then you just won’t just do the club appearance and leave you have to rest for like 3 days. International shows are more expensive. My international fee is from 6,000 dollars (Ksh600, 000) upwards, the promoter purchases a first class ticket and books me into a 5-star hotel. When it’s a show in East Africa I am a bit more flexible since it’s about an hour’s flight so I charge at least 3,000 dollars and locally in Nairobi I charge 2,000 dollars,” she told Clouds FM.
A Nigerian alleged email scammer wanted for fraud and taking part in international crime, was arrested on Monday by Immigration police at Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok.
According to local media, Pol Maj-Gen Phaiboon Noihun and his team were waiting for Bertrand Ifeanyichukwu Akile following a tip-off from a member of the public seeking a reward that he would be at Immigration Complex to extend his visa.
Once he arrived Akile was apprehended under a warrant issued for fraud and deception.
“It was as easy as pie. He just came to us” Pol Maj-Gen Noihun told journalists.
It is alleged that Akile was part of a 100 million baht scam headed by another Nigerian national, Onyekachukwu Elvis Smart Ebube, who is already in custody.
Nollywood Actor cum Politician, Yul Edochie, has taken a walk down memory lane while celebrating Nonso Diobi on his birthday.
Yul Edochie recounted how he (Nonso) sheltered and fed him while on his way to stardom.
According to Yul, his relationship with Nonso Diobi started off on set in 2005/2006 when ‘he came to Lagos to hustle’. Nonso reportedly offered him a place in his house which was closer to the set, fed him and was always willing to assist him in anything.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital was thrown into confusion last weekend after a patient who was on admission at the Accident and Emergency ward, committed suicide.
According to reports, the male patient was waiting to see a doctor when he suddenly became wild and stabbed himself to death with a broken louvre beside his bed.
“The man suddenly became wild and broke a louvre beside his window and stabbed himself to death. His wife was not around. She went out to buy something outside. There was blood everywhere. We were lucky not to have been injured” another patient in the ward said
Confirming the incident, Mr Joshua Uwaila, the spokesman for the hospital, said the unfortunate incident happened at about 10pm.
“An unfortunate incident happened on Saturday night 13th July, 2019 at about 10:30 pm when a young man who was a patient at the male medical ward of our hospital (diagnosis not disclosed for confidentiality sake), suddenly broke a louvre and stabbed himself. All efforts to resuscitate him proved abortive as he was certified dead at 11:00 pm” he said
It was further reported that the remains of the deceased has been deposited in a morgue while an autopsy is expected to be carried out soon.
Two suspects have been arrested by operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for allegedly raping and impregnating four schoolgirls.
The suspected were identified as 41-year-old Festus Femi, an installation Engineer and 51-year-old Luka Gabriel Ekundayo, Bursar of Government Secondary School Dangara, Abaji, Abuja.
Femi, accused of raping three school students of Government Secondary School, was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and referred to NAPTIP for further investigations and prosecution, while Ekundayo was arrested by the agency’s officials for allegedly drugging, raping and impregnating a 15-year-old student.
Two victims of the rape incident said they were all taken to Festus’ house by their classmate who claimed he was her uncle. He reportedly threatened to kill them if they told anyone about the incident. Corroborating the accounts of the two victims, the third victim, a 15-year-old girl confessed to introducing the other two victims to the suspect. According to her, Festus was her former neighbour who usually gave her N500 each time they had sex. She also revealed that she has brought 5 underage girls to him, and he paid her N300 for each.
Speaking to newsmen on the arrest of Luke Gabriel Ekundayo, NAPTIP’s Head of Press and Public Relations Unit, Stella Nezan said;
“The suspect, Luke Gabriel Ekundayo, from Ilorin, Kwara State, was the victim’s guardian in school, and she spent short holidays in his house. The victim, a senior secondary three (SS3) student took ill in Mr. Ekundayo’s house, and upon taking some drugs administered to her by the suspect, she passed out. On waking up, she saw bloodstains and said she felt uneasy, but did not suspect that the school Bursar, whom her grandmother handed her over to, for protection, could do anything sinister to her.
“The victim, an orphan who was on scholarship, was threatened by the suspect into having sex with him continuously, or he would tell her sponsors to stop paying her school fees. The rape continued until the victim got pregnant”.

US singer, Beyonce has revealed why she featured Wizkid and other African artiste in her new album, set for release on Friday, July 19 2019.
The new album titled “The Lion King: The Gift” features Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Burna Boy and Tekno. Shatta Wale was the only Ghanaian artiste featured in the album.
According to Beyonce, she wanted a collection of songs from different genres that express what she’s trying to pass across.
“This is a sonic cinema. This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat”, she said.
“I wanted to put everyone on their own journey to link the storyline. Each song was written to reflect the film’s storytelling that gives the listener a chance to imagine their own imagery while listening to a new contemporary interpretation.
“It was important that the music was not only performed by the most interesting and talented artists but also produced by the best African producers. Authenticity and heart were important to me”, Beyonce stated

An elderly couple from Georgia who were together for 71 years have died just 12 hours apart on the same day.
Herbert DeLaigle, 94, and Marilyn Frances DeLaigle, 88, got married in 1948 and died on Friday at a hospital in Waynesboro. According to WRDW Herbert died at 2.20am, and Marilyn Frances died exactly 12 hours later.
The couple met in a Waynesboro cafe back in 1947 where Marilyn was working.
‘Frances worked at a little cafe we had in Waynesboro named White Way Cafe. I kept seeing her going in and out, in and out and I had my eyes set on her. And then I finally got up the nerve to ask her if she would go out with me sometime’ Herbert DeLaigle said in a 2018 interview with WRDW.
Marilyn DeLaigle went on to spend six years in Germany with her husband who served there during the Second World War. He served again in Korea and Vietnam before eventually retiring from the Army after 22 years of service. Together they had six children and a total of 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and even three great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held for the DeLaigles on Monday this week.
Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh’s step-sister, Tatiana Dikeh has drawn the line on her ex-friend, Blessing Osom not long after the latter took to Instagram to disclose details of all she allegedly did for the actress.
The whole saga between Dikeh and Osom all started when the former’s estranged husband, Churchill Olakunle gifted her ex-friend, Blessing osom the sum of N3 million as a birthday present.
Osom took to her Instagram to share a screenshot of the credit alert notification she got as she thanked Olakunle profusely – her post caused her heavy backlash by the actress’s fans and in her defense she took to her page to badmouth the actress.

Earlier today, we reported of how the third baby mama of Nigerian singer, Wizkid, Jada P accused him of being a violent partner as he’s being assaulting her over the years.
Jada P took to her page to share how she’d been covering up for the singer over the years despite the fact that he was abusing her in closed doors. She shared that she can’t take it anymore and so she had to out him.
It should be recalled that a while back, the singer’s first two baby mamas, Shola Ogudu and Binta Diallo had both taken to social media to call out the singer for being a deadbeat dad and at that time, Jada P was in his full support of the singer and against his baby mamas.

Nominations for the 71st Emmy Awards, which recognize excellence in television, were announced yesterday in a live webcast.
The final season of Game of Thrones took a clear lead in the count, racking up 32 nominations across all categories including outstanding drama series.
Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington got nominated in the Best Actor and Actress category, while eight other “Thrones” cast members swept the board in the supporting and guest acting categories.
This year’s awards show will be telecast live from Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 22, starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Fox.

The Presidency has approved the immediate implementation of the N30,000 new national wage for Federal Public Service workers currently earning below the minimum wage.
The Chairman, National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Richard Egbule made this known while addressing a news conference on the implementation of the new national minimum wage today Tuesday July 16th.
According to him, the commencement of the approved payment would be determined by the office of the Accountant-General and back dated to when the President signed the agreement.
According to Mr. Egbule,the approval takes effect from April 18, 2018 and will affect the salary of government agencies under five salary structures.
This include the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) and the Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS).
Also, the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure (CONTISS II) and Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure (CONTEDISS) would be affected.
Singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo has reacted to the statement recently released by the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN where they deny that they sent officials to support Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) during last Sunday’s church service.
News had earlier made the rounds, of Abuja CAN Chairman, Rev. Jonah Samson and his Northcentral counterpart, Rev. Israel Akanji, spotted in a viral video, pledging their allegiance to the COZA senior Pastor who was accused of rape by Mrs. Busola Dakolo and another anonymous lady.
However CAN disowned the actions seen in the video clip – where its officials pay a solidarity visit to the COZA Senior Pastor – saying it knew nothing about it.
Reacting to the statement by CAN, Timi Dakolo shared a screenshot of their statement and said the ‘THE TRUTH ALWAYS WIN….‘.

Nigerian music icon, Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke’s house located on Esther Adeleke street in Lekki, Lagos state was gutted by fire recently.
An eyewitness shared that the fire started on Tuesday afternoon at about 13:00pm at the pent house of the building.
The fire service officials were alerted and they were able to quickly put out the fire before it spread to other sections of the house. No casualty was recorded in the incident.

Tonto Dikeh’s Ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, yesterday responded to an Instagram user who made a passionate appeal for him to reach out to Tonto who according to her is ”broke and is being ridiculed online”.
The comment was dropped after Tonto’s ex-bestfriend, Blessing Osom, made some shocking revelations online. (Read here)

Actress Dayo Amusa has jumped to the defense of her industry colleague as she is appalled by the attitude of Tonto Dikeh’s ex-bestfriend, Blessing Osom, who in a post released yesterday, narrated how she linked Tonto to a man who used to give her money and also how she allegedly fed Tonto and provided for her when they were still besties. Dayo was bemused by the post and she stormed Blessing’s page to call her a Snitch.

Wizkid third babymama, Jada P has called out the singer and accused him of Domestic Violence in their relationship.
Jada has been defending Wizkid for many years from allegations from his other baby mamas, but she had declared that she is tired of defending him.
In a post she shared on her Instagram story, Jada says Wizkid beats her a lot, and sometimes leaves her with bruises on her body.
“From today I and Ayo no longer work together. I’ve been in an abusive relationship with him for years, covering up for him time and time again. I am tired.”
“Wiz continuously puts his hands on me, leaves me with bruises that I cover up from he world including my friends and family. It often feels like we are at war in the same house”
“I have done all I can to keep this all together but from today I let go. You can support someone as much as you can but at some point you have to value yourself.”

Popular street boy, Shoki Shitta who came into social media spotlight after a video of him praising Nigerian singer, Davido caused him to be assaulted by some guys said to be fans of the singer’s counterpart, Wizkid.
The video of Shoki Shitta being brutally assaulted led to the arrest of a popular street thug and also the reward of a million Naira from singer, Davido.
In recent developments, it looks like Shoki Shitta has turned from being a millionaire to a pauper overnight as a video shows him begging the singer for more money.
According to Shoki, the Million Naira Davido previously gave him was shared among his peers and now, he’s out of funds and needs the singer to reimburse him and not forget him.
He admits that he didn’t make good use of the money the singer gave him and begs for more because he is “his boy” and should be treated as such.
The video which has now gone viral on social media, has a lot of netizens disappointed with how the street urchin blew a million naira in no time and lots are of the notion that he wasn’t worth the money in the first place.

Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, who’s quite active on her Instagram page subtly reacted to her ex-friend, Blessing Osom’s comment of enjoying her estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill’s money while she sits back and cry.
The shade post from Blessing Osom which has been serving rounds on social media, came after she was gifted the sum of N3m from Olakunle Churchill as a birthday gift.
Not long after, she was seen in Ghana, having a birthday vacation with celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani and Tonto Dikeh’s arch-enemy said to be the alleged cause of her marital crisis, Rosy Meurer.
In a subtle response to Blessing Osom’s comment, Tonto Dikeh says she doesn’t bother herself over pigs.
The thespian also attached a grateful comment to God for giving her all she needs.
