Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority and Police have arrested one Elizabeth Torgbor popularly known as Mama Gee, who sells aphrodisiac and other drugs said to be charms to make the ‘v*gina sweeter‘ and also make men succumb to any demand.
Upon being arrested, the woman who operates in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and other regions in Ghana, claimed to be a Christian who only wants to build relationships and marriages.
Denying that her drugs are charms, Mama Gee however believes her drugs attract men as soon a woman prays over it and applies it on her forehead.
The drugs she sell are reportedly not registered nor approved by Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority.
“Mama Gee was arrested on Wednesday 10th July, 2019 at her shop at Madina near Rawlings Park in Accra. The FDA wishes to advise the general public not to patronize such products from Mama Gee since it has not been approved by the Authority and the claims cannot be substantiated”, the statement read in parts.
In a grim case of jungle justice, one Olamide Omolede, a 22-year-old man, was on Monday killed by hoodlums in Badore, Ajah, Lagos after he was wrongly accused of stealing a mobile phone, PREMIUM TIMES reports.
The incident occurred on Monday evening, the victim’s father said.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that following days of epileptic power supply in the community, Mr Omolede, who is also a tricycle rider, went to a nearby store to charge his handset for a fee.
Afterwards, he left the store for his house. However, after some minutes, a woman whose name had not been provided at the time of filing this report arrived at Mr Omolede’s house with some hoodlums, alleging he stole her phone where they were charging.
The hoodlums mauled him to death and threw his body into a nearby lagoon.
A witness, Tunde Afolabi, told PREMIUM TIMES that the deceased was first paraded half-naked to Iyalaye Store where the alleged theft occurred.
“After he eventually died, the thugs threw him into the lagoon. But we concerned people of the community paid Egun people to help trace the corpse after we heard the incident. The corpse was brought out of the river this morning,” he said.
He said the phone which was reported stolen was later found with the son of the woman who had accused Mr Omolede of stealing it.
Victim’s parent speaks:
Francis Omolede, the victim’s father, also spoke with PREMIUM TIMES on the tragedy.
“I was called on Monday by the sister of the victim that her brother was accused of stealing a phone. After the thugs brought by the woman who accused him of stealing eventually killed him, they threw him into the river to avoid traces.
“It was afterwards that the phone was found with the son of the woman who wrongly accused my son. The police have arrested the woman and some of the thugs who perpetrated the act,” he told PREMIUM TIMES Wednesday.
Also, the traditional head of the community identified as Baale Jikoji told PREMIUM TIMES that the matter would be properly handled.
“We have met and we will definitely address the matter”, he told our correspondent.
Police react
The police officer in charge of the matter, who simply identified himself as Inspector Sunday, told PREMIUM TIMES that proper investigation would be carried out.
“We have arrested the woman who accused the victim and some thugs that carried out the act. Some of them are still at large but we will definitely arrest and carry out a proper investigation,” he said.
Following the death of Mr Omolede, tricycle riders on Badore-Ajah road blocked the major road to express their anger over the incident.

Head of States, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for defeating the Bafana Bafana of South Africa last night at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Super Eagles had on Wednesday thrashed their opponent to qualify for the next round, semi finals. The President’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement by his Senior Spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, a copy of which was obtained by Igbere TV.

New reports have it that some operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, allegedly shot dead one person and left multiple suffered during a funeral procession in Rumuosi, Obio-Akpor local government area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State on Monday.
It’s reported that the procession was for the burial of one Aleruchi Woko, who was allegedly killed by a military personnel during a protest over the deplorable state of Nkpolu Junction on the East-West road in Nkpolu, last November.
Eyewitnesses say the incident happened at about 9.30 am when some youths who had gone to carry the corpse of late Aleruchi Woko at a mortuary in Rumuosi, began robbing shop owners and residents with machetes.
The incident resulted into panic as residents and shop owners quickly locked up their homes and shops and scampered for safety.
“Some Policemen who witnessed the suspected hoodlums wearing black T-shirts and black trousers and clutching sharp machetes while robbing traders of their wares began shooting at them. Gun shots were heard in and around Nkpolu community. Some of Tricycle riders drove recklessly as part of the burial procession,” the eyewitnes said.
When contacted over the incident, the Community Development Committee Chairman of Nkpolu Community, Achinike Orubuogwu, said:
“The young man killed by the Police and the other one nursing bullet wounds are not indigenes of the community, but sympathizers who came to join us when went to the mortuary to carry the corpse of our brother.”
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident said that the Command had gathered enough intelligence report that there would be security breach by hoodlums who would cash on the burial of the late Woko and had to deploy officers and men to forestall their plans.
A corp member who was deployed to a school in Port Harcourt for her service year, has narrated how she was rejected, because she refused to sleep with a man she met at the school.
Apparently, the man is supposedly the proprietor of the school.
The alleged school’s proprietor had promised her an accommodation and leisure in her service year, but refused to sign her acceptance letter after she rejected sleeping with him.
Instagram user @di.zire who shared the story, also revealed that the man threatened to tell NYSC authorities that the corps member rejected the Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) herself. She wrote;
I was minding my business today as usual, then i hear my friend going on and off with this babe on the phone. He was trying to calm her down. After over thirty minutes on the phone, he explains that she went to her PPA which is a school in portharcort today and the man she met there said for him to accept her letter she would have to sleep with him and they would be doing so as she serves in the school, promising her accommodation and that she wouldn’t have to come to work everyday.
I called her back, asked if she was okay, still in tears she said no, and explained the same thing my friend had explained. He threatened her saying that he would say she rejected the PPA herself…. My dear thought that would be an issue and was pleading but still refusing the offer and he refused to accept the letter, sticking to his condition. I told her to just go straight the secretariat and make a complaint and that she should be happy about the rejection letter. It doesnt matter who makes the rejection.
At least she’s out of that ridiculous school. She wants to be taken out of that local government because she says its a small town, the schools are close and they have links with eachother. But then yet again, who knows what perverted soul she would meet at the secretariat and disregard her complaints? What about the female students in that school, are their parents aware of this perverted fool they placed their children under. Who knows how many students are being sexually harassed.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 arrested 30 suspected internet fraudsters.
The suspects were apprehended at different locations within the city of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital during an early morning raid carried out by operatives of the anti-graft agency.
The operation was sequel to a deluge of intelligence reports available to the Commission on their alleged fraudulent activities.
According to the reports, many people have fallen victim to the tricks of the suspects, who exploit their dexterity on the use of the internet to allegedly commit crime.
Ranging between the ages of 18 and 27 years, 11 of the suspects claimed to be undergraduates, while others said they are self-employed in various vocations.
Items recovered from them include eight exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones and several documents suspected to contain information used to access their victims.
The suspects are already providing useful information to aid further investigations.
They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

In order to achieve an all round success in the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, president of the indigenous religions of Benin, Dah Gbediga and other vodunsi practitioners in the country have offered voodoo prayers for their national team who shocked Morocco on penalties in the round of 16, to record its first ever victory in the competition and advance to a quarter-final showdown with Senegal on Wednesday.

A Missouri man wanted for possession of a controlled substance was arrested after he exposed his hiding spot in an unorthodox way.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, over the weekend, Liberty police were searching for a Missouri man who had a warrant out for his arrest.. The person was wanted for possession of a controlled substance.
The suspect hid to avoid police, but he farted so loudly, that the volume was enough for the police to track his hiding spot.
“If you’ve got a felony warrant for your arrest, the cops are looking for you and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you’re definitely having a [poop emoji] day,” the Clay County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post, which included the hashtag “#ItHappened.”
A local TV station requested more information on the case and the sheriff’s office responded on Facebook with, “the person was arrested over the weekend on a Clay County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. We’ve gotta give props to Liberty (Missouri) PD for using their senses to sniff him out!”
The official Twitter account of the City of Liberty also poke fun at the incident.
“The Liberty Police Department was surprised to see this incident slip out, which stinks for the arrestee,” the city wrote in a post on Twitter. “Fortunately, no one was injured during his arrest.”
The city also thanked the sheriff’s department for “airing out a wanted person’s dirty laundry and fanning the flames.”
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in his tribute at the launch of a memoir by Olusegun Osoba, a former governor of Ogun state, on Monday, spoke about how wrong it is for a man to slap a woman.

The Lagos state police command have arrested 27-year-old suspected serial fraudster, Ramon Oshodi, who is well known for hacking into peoples’ bank accounts through their phones, Automated Teller Machine, ATM, cards and their Facebook accounts.
According to the police, Oshodi was arrested on Thursday June 27th by a team of Anti-Crime Patrol attached to Mushin Police Station, Olosan-Mushin, Lagos, after he had successfully swindled his victims to the tune of N4.5 million. He was on a motorcycle at 7:30a.m when he was stopped by policemen who conducted a search on him and found on him, five ATM cards and SIM cards belonging to different individuals on him. Also found on him was N91,000 cash.
When interrogated, Oshodi narrated how he hacks into his victim’s bank account and steals their money. According to him, whenever he steals any of his victim’s phone, he removes the SIM cards, works on them and, thereafter, hacks into their bank accounts. He told the police that he buys stolen phones and ATM cards from the ghetto at Akala-Idioro, Mushin. He also revealed to the police that he hacks into people’s bank accounts through his access to their Facebook accounts after getting their date of birth, which some of the victims used for their various bank accounts.
Oshodi upon his arrest, has been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting at Ikeja, Ogba on a seven-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace, fraud, stealing, receiving of stolen properties and unlawful possession of ATM cards.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was given a bail of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned till July 25th for mention.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, arrested a fake native doctor, Fatai Olalere Aliu, who was alleged to be notorious for duping people under the guise of possessing spiritual power to their problems.
Aliu was arrested by the operatives of the Commission during a raid on his abode at Kisumu Estate at Odo-Ona Elewe of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Before his eventual arrest, the Commission had worked on several intelligence reports linking him to series of fraud allegation involving large sums of money.
He was also accused of engaging in money doubling through which he would collect money from his victims with the promise of using his spiritual powers to multiply the sums for them, but would instead divert same to his personal use.
The raid led EFCC operatives to his shrines located in a thick forest around the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Expressway and Kobomoje area of the town where frightening voodoo items were sighted.
Items recovered from the suspect include three exotic cars – two Toyota Corolla and Honda Pilot.
He also has in his possession three luxurious buildings within Ibadan and land documents which were also recovered as exhibits.
Reality TV star, TBoss seems to have confirmed the reports of her being pregnant after she was spotted at a Diagnostic center in Abuja recently.

Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, has described police officers who collect money for bail as people worse than kidnappers who abduct people and collect ransom for their release.
The police boss said this in Lagos yesterday Tuesday July 9th when he spoke at the commissioning of a Statement Taking Room at the State Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department SCIID, Panti.
Speaking at the event, Muazu called on the police officers in the state to desist from collecting bribe from arrested persons as such characters put the police in bad light.
”I will advise that we stay far away from corruption. It gives us a bad name as it is unprofessional and unethical. “We have always said bail is free and we mean it. I keep saying it that any policeman who collects money for bail is not different from a kidnapper. The only difference is that everyone knows where you keep the suspects. “The country is hard and we need people more than they need us. Let us stay far from corruption” Zubairu said
A young man allegedly committed suicide over the weekend because he was fired from his job and his girlfriend dumped him.
The man, identified as Deji, was fired after a colleague lied against him and to make matters even worse, his girlfriend ended their relationship.
He couldn’t take it anymore and took his life. After he died, the truth came out at work and his boss came to compensate him with a promotion at work and a brand new car.
But he received news of his demise. The boss has reportedly vowed to arrest the colleague who made the false allegation.

Hip-Hop rapper, Nicki Minaj has in a statement on Tuesday, confirmed that she cancelled a scheduled performance in Saudi Arabia next week, citing her support for the rights of women and the LGBT community.
This came after the US Human Rights Foundation called for Minaj and other musicians, One Direction’s Liam Payne, Steve Aoki and others scheduled to play at the Jeddah World Fest on July 18 to pull out of the festival, over the country’s record of human rights violations.
“After careful reflection I have decided to no longer move forward with my scheduled concert at Jeddah World Fest. While I want nothing more than to bring my show to fans in Saudi Arabia, after better educating myself on the issues, I believe it is important for me to make clear my support for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community and freedom of expression,” Minaj said in a statement to the Associated Press.
