The Lagos state police command have arrested 27-year-old suspected serial fraudster, Ramon Oshodi, who is well known for hacking into peoples’ bank accounts through their phones, Automated Teller Machine, ATM, cards and their Facebook accounts.
According to the police, Oshodi was arrested on Thursday June 27th by a team of Anti-Crime Patrol attached to Mushin Police Station, Olosan-Mushin, Lagos, after he had successfully swindled his victims to the tune of N4.5 million. He was on a motorcycle at 7:30a.m when he was stopped by policemen who conducted a search on him and found on him, five ATM cards and SIM cards belonging to different individuals on him. Also found on him was N91,000 cash.
When interrogated, Oshodi narrated how he hacks into his victim’s bank account and steals their money. According to him, whenever he steals any of his victim’s phone, he removes the SIM cards, works on them and, thereafter, hacks into their bank accounts. He told the police that he buys stolen phones and ATM cards from the ghetto at Akala-Idioro, Mushin. He also revealed to the police that he hacks into people’s bank accounts through his access to their Facebook accounts after getting their date of birth, which some of the victims used for their various bank accounts.
Oshodi upon his arrest, has been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting at Ikeja, Ogba on a seven-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace, fraud, stealing, receiving of stolen properties and unlawful possession of ATM cards.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was given a bail of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned till July 25th for mention.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, arrested a fake native doctor, Fatai Olalere Aliu, who was alleged to be notorious for duping people under the guise of possessing spiritual power to their problems.
Aliu was arrested by the operatives of the Commission during a raid on his abode at Kisumu Estate at Odo-Ona Elewe of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Before his eventual arrest, the Commission had worked on several intelligence reports linking him to series of fraud allegation involving large sums of money.
He was also accused of engaging in money doubling through which he would collect money from his victims with the promise of using his spiritual powers to multiply the sums for them, but would instead divert same to his personal use.
The raid led EFCC operatives to his shrines located in a thick forest around the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Expressway and Kobomoje area of the town where frightening voodoo items were sighted.
Items recovered from the suspect include three exotic cars – two Toyota Corolla and Honda Pilot.
He also has in his possession three luxurious buildings within Ibadan and land documents which were also recovered as exhibits.
The suspect is under further interrogation.
Reality TV star, TBoss seems to have confirmed the reports of her being pregnant after she was spotted at a Diagnostic center in Abuja recently.
A Facebook user, Ebere Nkechinyere Ijeoma Ezeh took to her page to share photos of TBoss at a Diagnostic center in Abuja where she went for a test.
Ebere however penned an open letter to the Half-Romanian who she accused of shielding her pregnancy from the public.

Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, has described police officers who collect money for bail as people worse than kidnappers who abduct people and collect ransom for their release.
The police boss said this in Lagos yesterday Tuesday July 9th when he spoke at the commissioning of a Statement Taking Room at the State Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department SCIID, Panti.
Speaking at the event, Muazu called on the police officers in the state to desist from collecting bribe from arrested persons as such characters put the police in bad light.
”I will advise that we stay far away from corruption. It gives us a bad name as it is unprofessional and unethical. “We have always said bail is free and we mean it. I keep saying it that any policeman who collects money for bail is not different from a kidnapper. The only difference is that everyone knows where you keep the suspects. “The country is hard and we need people more than they need us. Let us stay far from corruption” Zubairu said
A young man allegedly committed suicide over the weekend because he was fired from his job and his girlfriend dumped him.
The man, identified as Deji, was fired after a colleague lied against him and to make matters even worse, his girlfriend ended their relationship.
He couldn’t take it anymore and took his life. After he died, the truth came out at work and his boss came to compensate him with a promotion at work and a brand new car.
But he received news of his demise. The boss has reportedly vowed to arrest the colleague who made the false allegation.

Veteran Nigerian music artiste, 9ice has waded in on the issue of ‘rape’ which is currently one of the most discussed topic both offline and also on social media.
Comparing rape to stealing in an interview with Goldmyne, the singer vowed to kill a rapist on the spot in any encounter as he also opted for jungle justice to be meted out to them.
He also added that there are prostitutes one can have sex with, even if a romantic-relationship is not forthcoming.

Hip-Hop rapper, Nicki Minaj has in a statement on Tuesday, confirmed that she cancelled a scheduled performance in Saudi Arabia next week, citing her support for the rights of women and the LGBT community.
This came after the US Human Rights Foundation called for Minaj and other musicians, One Direction’s Liam Payne, Steve Aoki and others scheduled to play at the Jeddah World Fest on July 18 to pull out of the festival, over the country’s record of human rights violations.
“After careful reflection I have decided to no longer move forward with my scheduled concert at Jeddah World Fest. While I want nothing more than to bring my show to fans in Saudi Arabia, after better educating myself on the issues, I believe it is important for me to make clear my support for the rights of women, the LGBTQ community and freedom of expression,” Minaj said in a statement to the Associated Press.
Though Saudi Arabia has been trying to ease restrictions on entertainment and to encourage growth in its arts sector, however prior to pulling out of the concert, Nicki Minaj suffered a torrent of backlash as critics questioned how her revealing outfits and explicit lyrics would go over in the ultra-conservative kingdom.

Multiple people were left injured at this year’s San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain after a bull jumped over them during the event.
Three people were reportedly gored during the first bull run at the annual San Fermín festival in Pamplona.
The second bullrun was also not without incident – photos from the festival shows a heifer bull jumping over participants in the bullring after the second bullrun.
The participants can be seen bending over in terror to avoid being gored by the beast.
Nigerian singer, Reekado Banks has reacted after he got embarrassed on a live TV show by a lady who shared what happened after she ‘had sex’ with him.

It’s been a week and some days into the Big Brother Naija: Pepper Dem show and it looks like housemates are already finding their love interests in the house.

Senator Elisha Abbo today clashed with Senator Oluremi Tinubu when he appeared before the Senate ad-hoc committee investigating his assault on a nursing mother inside a sex toy shop in Abuja on May 11th.
Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, on Wednesday July 3rd, announced the senate’s intention to investigate the assault after seeing the CCTV footage from the assault. An adhoc committee led by former Ebonyi state governor, Sam Egwu, was set up to investigate the incident. Other members of the investigation committee include Mrs Tinubu, Mathew Urhoghide, Stella Oduah, Dauda Aliu Jika, Sani Musa, and Danladi Sankara.
At the first sitting of the committee today July 9th, 41-year-old Abbo refused to swear an oath before the panel. He also refused to speak in the presence of journalists because the matter was in court.
Reacting to his stance of not swearing to an oath, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, wife of APC National leader Bola Tinubu, said
“Distinguished, you undermine us by even trying to do that, You haven’t even listened to us. Even if we are going beyond what you expect, you can stop us. You don’t come on the other side and start dictating to us. Do you want us to protect you or you want us to defend you or you want to be on your own because do you realise that we are also under law. Do you realise that we can also suspend you.
Visibly upset by her comment, Abbo said
“I will not sit here and listen to you threaten me with suspension. I am a senator like you. You cannot threaten me with suspension.”
Journalists were later asked to leave for the meeting to continue off camera.
Abbo was arraigned on Monday July 8th at Zuba Magistrate Court, Abuja on one count of assault which he denied. He was later granted bail of N5 million.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, Mikel Obi has revealed that the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations will be be a remarkable one for Nigeria and as well as his last for the country.
According to Obi;
“It’s been an amazing ride for me in the national team,” he disclosed.
“Obviously winning the Nations Cup in South Africa was the high point, that’s why I want to help this young team to hopefully achieve their dreams. Thirteen years I think is enough. I’ve won trophies, I’ve had a lot of amazing time.
“I think it’s time for these young guys to carry on. I’m mostly here in Egypt to support the young guys and make sure they’re on the right track. I think my presence is always important for them, hopefully, I can finish with the trophy.”

Drama never cease to end in the ongoing big BBNaija season 4, as another fight erupts between Thelma and Esther, over calling people with Down syndrome ‘imbeciles’.
It all started when the two housemates were discussing about people plagued with “Down Syndrome”. During the course of there discussion, Thelma stated that those affected by “Down Syndrome” are imbeciles.

Korey Wise, one of the 5 teenage boys who were accused of raping a woman in Central Park has gotten himself a luxury condo that overlooks Central Park.
Korey Wise spent almost 14 years in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Now that he’s been exonerated he has bought a luxury condo overlooking the park where he was accused of raping a woman.
In 1989, Korey wise, 16 years old at the time, and 4 other teenage boys were accused of raping and battering a woman in Central Park. All 5 black and hispanic boys became known as “Central Park 5”.
They were all found guilty and sentenced to years in jail. Korey, who was the oldest of all five boys, got the harshest sentence and suffered the most horrific treatment while in jail.
Fortunately, while in jail, Korey met Matias Reyes, an inmate who had been convicted of a string of rapes and a murder. Matias, having given his life to Christ, confessed to being the one who raped and battered 28-year-old Trisha Meili in Central Park back in 1989.
Korey was released as a result and he and the other boys, now men, were compensated with $40 million.
Korey, who still lives in New York City, and is a criminal justice activist, recently bought a $925,000 luxury condo in Harlem that overlooks Central Park, the same place where his tragic story began.
Asides being a successful activist, Korey is also a public speaker who has worked extensively with the nonprofit the Innocence Project, and was awarded the Man of Vision Award in March from the National Action Network. In 2016, he donated $190,000 to Colorado’s Innocence Project.
Champions League pitch invader, Kinsey Wolanski has revealed she and her boyfriend were jailed in Brazil after their plans to disrupt the Copa America final on Sunday night was foiled.
During Liverpool’s Champions League final win over Tottenham in Madrid last month, Wolanski invaded the pitch by wearing a skimpy swimsuit advertising a Russian porn pranking website. She was later caught and escorted off the pitch by security.
While trying to pull a similar stunt in Brazil’s victory over Peru, Wolanski and her YouTuber boyfriend Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who set up the x-rated website, the pair were arrested and jailed.
Narrating the event last night, she wrote on her Instagram page alongside sharing images of the couple in disguise: ‘I’ll admit Copa America you definitely won but we had one hell of an adventure trying.
‘Flew to Brazil, dressed up in disguise, made it to our seats and it ended in Vitaly’s bad ass getting tackled by 20 security guards.
‘We are out of jail and now enjoying our time in Brazil!’
On Sunday night she posted a video of herself with Zdorovetskiy in prison with the caption: ‘We failed Copa America…. will post all details tomorrow, currently in jail.’
