42-year-old man arrested for rape in Enugu, blames wife (photos)
Men of the Enugu state police command have arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.
Activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared the story on facebook, said the suspect after his arrest, blamed his wife who he said had been starving him of sex.

We received a distress call from a concerned Nigerian who reported a case of rape against a minor.
16 year old was sent on an errand by her Aunt at about 8:15pm. On her way back, she discovered she was been followed by an unknown man. This scared her and she started running. The man ran after her, got hold of her and dragged her to back of a Container/Shop, tore her underwear.
The victim’s continuous shout for help, attracted our witness No 1, who reached out and called other witnesses informing them someone was shouting for help. The perpetrator held her down, covered her mouth and threatened to kill her if she keeps shouting.
Witness No 1 and others rescued the victim but unfortunately the rapist escaped.
Witness No 1, got home and saw his neighbor with same cloth the rapist wore and looking dirty. The victim was brought in and she identified the man as the person who forcefully tore her underwear to rape her.
BBI Enugu reported the case to Trans Ekulu Police Station, Enugu and suspect is currently detained.
He didn’t deny d allegations but said his wife starved him of sex. The wife showed us her recent surgery and stitches are yet to be removed.
The victim sustained head injuries while struggling with the rapist as he kept hitting her head no the container wall.

34-year-old Yakubu Danladi, has been elected speaker of the Kwara state house of assembly.
Danladi, who represents Ilesha-Gwanara constituency, was elected unopposed by his colleagues during plenary on Tuesday.

Reading his citation, Hon. Popoola said Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi representing Ilesha/Gwanara State Constituency of Baruten Local Government was born on 31 May 1985 in Gwanara, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara state.
He attended BLGEA Primary School, Gwanara from 1988-1993, he later proceeds to St Anthony Secondary School Ilorin for his Secondary Education where he obtained his SSCE in the year 2001.
He later attended Kaduna Polytechnic where he obtained his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Electrical/Electrical Engineering from 2003-2008.
Ethiopian woman gives birth.. then sits for exams 30 minutes later
A woman in Ethiopia sat to take her exams in a hospital bed just 30 minutes after giving birth.
Almaz Derese, 21, who is from Metu in western Ethiopia, had hoped to sit for the exam before her baby was born, but the secondary school exams were postponed because of Ramadan. She went into labour on Monday shortly before the first exam was due to start.
Ms Almaz said studying while pregnant was not a problem and she did not want to wait until next year to graduate. She took her English, Amharic and maths secondary school exams in hospital on Monday and will sit her remaining tests at the exam centre over the next two days.
“Because I was rushing to sit the exam, my labour wasn’t difficult at all,” Ms Almaz told BBC. Her husband, Tadese Tulu, said he had to persuade the school to allow her to take the exams at the hospital.
In Ethiopia, it is common for girls to drop out of secondary school and return later on to complete their studies. Ms Almaz now wants to take a two-year course that will prepare her for university. She said she was pleased with how the exams went and her baby boy is doing well.

Man marries nurse who took care of him after he got involved in an accident in 2017
A man has married a nurse who treated and took care of him when he was involved in a ghastly car accident that nearly cost his life.
Apparently, he survived the accident and met the love of his life on his sick bed.
Identified as Anthony T-man C-J; the young man was travelling in September 2017 when the car he was in was involved in an accident in Ife. He was badly injured in the accident and was admitted for months.
Anthony suffered a fractured femur on the left leg and a deep gash on the right. Both looked horrifying and he had to undergo surgery five times.
First, there were fears for his life. Then, it was feared that he may lose his legs. Fortunately, none of the fears materialized.
Not only did Anthony recover fully, he went on to get married to Vivian, a nurse who took care of him while he was admitted at the hospital.

Ogun State police arrest man for snatching Uber car in Lagos
A Nigerian man named, Philip Efosa has been arrested by Ogun State Police after he allegedly robbed an Uber driver of his car in Lagos, On Monday.
Efosa, according to the command, was arrested on Sunday after he and his accomplice, who escaped, allegedly snatched a Toyota Corolla car with number plate GUS 15 RU from the driver at gunpoint.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in a statement that Efosa was arrested by policemen, who laid ambush for him in the Ibafo area of the state. Oyeyemi said the suspect was planning to escape with the stolen vehicle when men of the Ibafo Police Division received information about the car via the control room.
He said, “Men of the Ogun State Police Command on June 9, 2019, arrested one Philip Efosa, 29, with a Toyota Corolla car with number plate GUS 15 RU, which was snatched at gunpoint in Lagos. “His arrest followed a message received from the police control room that a Toyota Corolla car was snatched by two armed men at the Eleko area of Lagos and that the robbers were heading towards the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with the said car.
“The DPO, Ibafo Division, Abiodun Ayinde, quickly led his Anti-Robbery team to the road, where they laid ambush for the hoodlums. About an hour later, the vehicle was sighted by the policemen coming driving against traffic and heading towards Ibadan but was blocked by the police team. The two occupants quickly jumped out and took to their heels, but they were pursued by the policemen and one of them was apprehended, while the other escaped.
“On interrogation, the arrested suspect confessed that he and his accomplice called the driver of the car, who was using it for Uber service, to convey them to somewhere for an agreed fee before they snatched the car from him at gunpoint with the intention of taking it to Ibadan in order to sell it.”
The PPRO added that the state Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, had directed that the suspect and the exhibit be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad where it would be transferred to Lagos, where the crime was committed. Oyeyemi said Makama urged members of the public to report cases on time so as to ensure quick response by the police.
Match between Kano Pillars Vs Enugu Rangers in Agege ends in violence as referee runs for his dear life (Video)
The NPFL Championship Playoff match between Kano Pillars and Rangers International of Enugu which took place at the Agege Township Stadium on Monday evening ended in violence as supporters invaded the pitch.
Kano Pillars were leading 1-0 after midfielder Rabiu Ali curled in a free-kick in the 58th minute to put his team ahead. But in the 87th minute, Rangers were awarded a penalty which was scored by striker Godwin Aguda to earn the Enugu-based side a valuable one point.
After the match, Kano Pillars captain Ali confronted the referee, Adebimpe Quadri, and this led to a violent scene which made ‘Kano Pillars’ fans invade the field with objects in an attempt to attack the referee who took to his heels.

Dear uber I don’t know how you pick your drivers but this people are not human and it’s heartbreaking because we travel and see how Uber drivers in other country treat us .
So I missed my flight at the old airport and ordered Uber.
Firstly , I called and he picked and using me to talk
Secondly , he said I have to meet him where he parked that he can’t come to meI was too tired and just want to go home.. Man with Four wives, nine children arrested for allegedly raping his friend’s 12-year-old daughter (photo)
A 43 years old farmer, Francis Joseph has defiled a 12-year daughter of his neighbour in Lugbogi area of Ondo in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo state.
It was gathered that Joseph who is married to four wives with nine children warned the little girl after having carnal knowledge of the girl, not to tell anybody about the incident or else she would die mysteriously.
A family source explained that the little girl was scared to tell her parent until she started bleeding in the middle of the night and was rushed to the hospital.
Her words “the 12-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital, bleeding profusely from the private part having been defiled and sexually abused, she is still in the hospital till now. “Her parent reported the incident at the Enuowa police station but to the chagrin of all neighbours, Joseph had left his home before dawn before the arrival of the policemen”
She, however, said that Joseph was arrested at a park in Ondo town on Thursday while trying to board a bus to Lagos and was subsequently handed over to the police. However, Joseph denied the allegation of defiling the young girl. He said the people of the community conspired against him and implicated him for the crime. Joseph did not explain the reasons for running away from the community.
However, it was gathered that the family of the suspect had been pleading with the victim’s family to settle the matter amicably but the parents of the victim insisted in getting to the root of the matter. It was gathered that the State Ministry of Women affairs, has waded into the matter to ensure that the incident is not swept under the carpet and get justice for the victim who is currently hospitalised.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Femi Joseph, who confirmed the incident said the case had been transferred to the State police headquarters in Akure, the state capital. He said the command has commenced an investigation into the matter with a pledge to charged the suspect to court after completing its investigation.

“Our law enforcement agencies are capable of securing the country” – President Buhari assures Nigerians
Head of state, President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the nation that security and law enforcement agencies are capable of safeguarding the country, its people and property.
Responding to concerns raised by a delegation of Zamfara Advocacy Group on Monday during an audience at the State House, Abuja, the President said the military and the police have been taking drastic measures to check the activities of some local elements threatening the peace of the communities, including preventing farmers from going to their farms.
“I assure you, I get daily reports from people in the field and traditional rulers. I also meet regularly with the leadership of the security agencies, and they have been directed to deploy their personnel to secure the society,” President Buhari said.
Describing as “unfortunate”, the “failure of local leadership in intelligence-gathering” the President enjoined community and traditional leaders to monitor closely the activities of people in their domain with a view to assisting law enforcement agencies to secure the communities.
Commending the new governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, for being proactive in addressing the security challenges, the President urged royal fathers to go back to their cultural roles.
“Reason why couple’s wedding was suspended” – Deeper Life Bible Church reacts
The Deeper Life Bible Church has revealed that the couple’s wedding in Bayelsa which was suspended reportedly because they ate from the same plate is not as true as it’s being read on social media.
According to the Church, the intending couple actually engaged in immoral activities and thus the reason why their wedding ceremony was suspended.
The church issued the below statement,
The church has a Marriage Committee that supervises marriage right from knowing the will of God, to obtaining parents’ consent, marriage registration to church wedding.
When the intending couples were told to go to Brass Region in Bayelsa state to obtain the man’s parents’ consent, they spent several days together before coming back to Yenagoa. They slept on the same bed and engaged in moral acts which amounted to sin and against the marriage process of the Church. They felt what they had done was bad and reported themselves to their pastors.
They were subsequently placed on discipline by the State Overseer. After some period, reporting that they have repented, the courtship was allowed to commence again.
As preparation for wedding was going on, it was discovered that they again engaged in acts contrary to the laid down procedure by the marriage committee of the church. This is after they had been disciplined earlier and warned not to engage in acts that will impact negatively on their proposed marriage.
When the Marriage Committee put a direct question to them based on the latest development, the man accepted their error. It is important to note here, that the church stands on holiness and members have been consistently admonished to “abstain from all appearance of evil. It is not also true that the parents pleaded with the pastor to wed them on the 8th June, 2019.
The summary is that they behaved themselves unseemingly, and were in haste to enjoy the benefits the church and God allow only married couples to enjoy.”
One person dead after a helicopter crashed on the rooftop of a 54-story skyscraper in New York
One person has been confirmed dead after a helicopter crash landed into a building in Midtown Manhattan – Emergency crews responded to the incident at 787 Seventh Ave just before 1:00pm on Monday as smoke was seen from the top of the 54-story building forcing police to order the evacuation of several structures in the area as a precaution.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has said there is no indication that the crash was intentional.
‘If you are a New Yorker you have a level of PTSD from 9/11. As soon as you hear an aircraft hit a a building, my mind goes where the mind of every New Yorker goes’ he said.
There does not appear to have been any significant damage to the building’s structure. The building houses the AXA Equitable Center.
Other tenants include BNP Paribas, Stifel, New Mountain Capital, Sidley Austin LLP, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, UBS, and Citigroup.
No details about the person killed have been released, and no additional injuries have been reported at this time.

Chairman DMW, Davido has aoplogized to popular Twitter influencer, Pamilerin, after he was assaulted by one of his artistes, Peruzzi.
Davido, who has music affiliations with the musician under the same record label in question, has taken to Twitter to apologize to Pamilerin, just minutes after Peruzzi also posted his apology on his twitter.

Peruzzi apologises to Pamilerin for assaulting him
DMW singer, Peruzzi has apologized publicly to popular social media influencer, Pamilerin, for slapping the influencer over the statement he made about him few months back.
The musician took to micro-blogging platform, Twitter to issue a public apology to Pamilerin….See tweet below;
“I did very wrong for yesterday slapping mr pamilerin, let my feelings get the best of me and I am very sorry. Apologies to mr pamilerin and also to the general public. I’d never get into such mess again. Love Only, I promise.”

The music star earlier made confirmed the assault during a radio chat with Dotun of Cool FM. According to him, he accosted the popular social media influencer because of his continuous inciting statements concerning his career and that of Teni the Entertainer.
Dotun then asked him if he actually slapped him when they saw each other in Bayelsa to which he gave an affirmative response.
“I slapped him. It was wrong, but I’m a human being,” he said. On why he slapped him, Peruzzi said, “I didn’t assault him o, I wanted to have a conversation with him and it didn’t turn out well.”

Popular South African vocalist, Nichume Siwundla commits suicide. The South African vocalist threw her off a building in Johannesburg.
The Singer is said to have committed suicide last night June 9th by jumping off a building in Johannesburg. In a statement released by her record label, Top Chap Media, it was confirmed that Nichume died from an apparent suicide in her Johannesburg home.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our fellow musician, sister and friend Nichume.
Nichume was found at a friend’s place last night following an apparent suicide.
She was an accomplished musician and a qualified ophthalmologist. Nichume reached the heights of her fame when she lent her voice to Mobi Dixon’s hit “Bhutiza”. She featured on singles “Daydreaming” by Fistaz Mixwell and Mobi Dixon, as well as “Far Away” by DJ Anda featuring Mobi Dixon.
Following the success of Bhutiza in 2017, she was then signed to Top Chap Media, founded by Mobi Dixon.
The duo had just released a single together titled ‘Thobela’ – which has been making appearances in the top 100 weekly radio charts.
“I’m distraught. I will remember Nichume as a bright light at Top Chap Media where we signed her. She was not only my first artist, but we had grown so close in the past three years that she became my little sister. She truly is gone too soon. May her soul rest in peace,” Mobi Dixon paid tribute to her.
“We, as a family are in absolute shock as to what has happened. Learning that your sister has succumbed to emotions and taken her own life can never rest well. We obviously are left with a lot of questions but also know that she had one of the strongest characters in the family. Whatever she was feeling at that moment triggered immense hopelessness. We stand united as a family during this difficult time. Nichume was so loved and appreciated. We’re proud of all her achievements.” Said Qamani Siwundla.
