Lagos State Police Command has finally released a statement that confirms that the lady who raised an alarm in Lagos on Friday June 6th, claiming that her husband wanted to use her and their children for rituals, is mentally unstable.

Recall, we brought you reports/video of a woman who was ‘rescued’ on Friday after she claimed her husband and his friends were on their way to a secret place to kill her.

A swift intervention from the police helped in rescuing the husband and his brother from being lynched by the mob who had thought they were indeed ritualists.

The state police command has now released a statement confirming that the woman is indeed mentally unstable and was being taken to the hospital when she raised the false alarm.

Arrest of alleged ‘Kidnappers for money ritual’ and rescue of Victims…Police warn against Jungle Justice.

On 6th June ,2019 at about 12.45pm, the Command’s control room received a distress call that a mob action is going on at Lawanson junction, Itere.

Anti crime patrol team led by the Divisional Police Officer Itere, CSP Odey Ogah was prompted deployed to the scene. One Justina Emmanuel ‘f’ of No 10 Bishop Okogie Street Ago and her one and a half year old daughter, Munachisom Agugom were rescued.

Two suspects namely: Joseph Agugom ‘m’ and Paul Agugom ‘ m’ both of the same address with the victms, were rescued from the mobs. They were alleged to have kidnapped the victims for ritual purposes. One Honda CRV car with Registration No. LAGOS FST 587 BU, one LG Phone , one iPhone, One bag containing two flasks, three pieces of rope, one black para military belt and one green beret were recovered.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim is married to one of the suspects, Joseph Agugom and the child belongs to both of them. It was also revealed that the victim is suffering from mental illness and she is being transported to hospital when she raised alarm and some members of the public stopped the car and descended on the suspects.

Members of both the suspects and victims family came to the station and made statements to the effect that the victim is suffering from mental illness and was actually being transported to hospital.

The other two children of the victim with her husband, were brought to the Station, contrary to the allegations of the victim that they were killed by the husband for money ritual. The victim was taken to hospital by the Police for medical examination. Police has launched a manhunt on those who participated in the mob action with a view of bringing them to justice.

Members of the Public are strongly advised to be more careful not to jump into conclusions on alarm raised by anybody. Innocent persons have suffered death or bodily harm and inhuman treatment through jungle justice. Members of the Public have the powers to arrest anybody suspected of a crime but the law provides that such persons arrested should be handed over to the Police immediately.

It is only investigating that can determine the truthfulness or otherwise of the allegations. And our laws presumes the accused person to be innocent until proven guilty by Court of competent jurisdiction.

The Lagos state police command have arrested a 61-year-old man identified as Jeremiah Obifor, for cutting off the hand of an 11year-old boy identied as Goodluck Amechi, in the Okokomaiko area of the state.

A statement by the command’s spokesperson, Bala Elkana, says on Friday June 7th, a lady identified as Doris Isaac of No. 6 Ajanaku Street, Okoko reported at Okoko Police Station that on the same date at about 8.20am, her foster son, Goodluck was attacked with a matchet by one Jeremiah and cut off his right hand.

The victim was rushed to Igando General Hospital. The suspect alleged that he saw the victim around his fish pond and thought that he came to steal his fish, that is why he attacked him.

Investigation is ongoing and the suspect will be charged to Court.

A Lady has allegedly been beaten to death by her husband in Lagos, years after she told a friend that domestic violence was a form of trial and she had conquered it.

According to reports, 31-year-old Deborah Ukamaka Johnson, who was undergoing her NYSC, was beaten to death by her husband, Godspower Johnson.

The duo got married in December of 2014 while she was still in school, against the wish of her parents and siblings.

The marriage allegedly became abusive almost immediately and she was forced to withdraw from Optometry at 500 Level, because her grades dropped drastically.

She eventually started all over again in Microbiology and graduated in 2018. According to her sister, Adogah, she once had to go to drag her from her matrimonial home after neighbors got worried by the level of abuse.

However, on the 21st of March, 2019, she was beaten till she couldn’t move her limbs again simply because she turned down his request for sex.

She was later rushed to LASUTH, where she was stabilized and then transfered to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, where it was discovered that she had a broken spine and multiple fractures on her neck.

Deborah gave up the ghost some days later and the husband has since been charged to court for murder and is being remanded in prison.

31-year-old fraudster, Dare Oladimeji pictured above, has narrated how he can hack into a phone and transfer money from any account linked to the sim in the phone, even if the phone is locked by its owner.

Oladimeji, a footballer who in 2016 returned to Nigeria from Dubai where he played football for ALAIN FC, was recently apprehended by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ladipo, Lagos after he withdrew N200, 000 from one of his victim’s account in the Idi-Oro area of Lagos.

He told newsmen while being paraded that hacking into bank accounts through phones had nothing to do with being a graduate as he learnt how to commit the crime via Google Chrome.

“I work on sim cards to get money. When I lay my hands on any sim card, I would slot it into any small phone that is not android. When that is done, I would press a code which brings out the list of banks the owner of the sim uses. For example, if the person is using GTB, I will proceed with the normal code of *37*100#. If the person has money , we would use it to buy recharge card to confirm how much the owner has, through the debit alert that would pop in to reveal the balance. Thereafter, we would transfer the money into donors accounts, from where we would withdraw the money.

Locking of phones with password does not stop me from hacking into any account, as long as I can lay my hands on the sim card. All I need to do is to remove the sim and slot it into a small phone. The only thing that can prevent me from hacking into account through phone is when the SIM card itself is locked. But most people don’t lock their sim cards, they only lock their phones. You can only beat my likes to the game if you lock your sim card because only the owner knows the password”.

According to the father of three, he ventured into crime after he lost all the money he brought from Dubai.

“When I came back from Dubai in 2016, I brought N7 million , out of which I gave one Mr Shola N5 million for a genuine business with NUPENG. Unfortunately, the man died . I decided to venture into this business which is a small version of yahoo yahoo because I didn’t want to go into robbery. At Idi-Oro, there are pick pockets . When they snatch phones from victims, they would throw the sim cards away. What I do is to go looking for these sim cards and continue from there. Nobody taught me the skill. I learnt it from google chrome. This is just common sense. But I regret my action because I have brought shame to my children”he said

The police say he would be charged to court soon.
