Tunji’s wedding was strictly by invitation, so strict was the invitation that details of the event were sent personally to his invites’ e-mails. Knowing this, it was almost impossible not to acknowledge the invitation.
Tunji – an ardent customer of my brand for years – was getting married and it really would seem unkind if I didn’t grace the occasion.
I couldn’t help but think of travel plans for a weekend, by flight or by road and all the hullabaloo that comes with booking tickets and whatnot. Also, I had never been to the Federal Capital before and do not even have any relations there, so, accommodation was added to my list of worries.
I eventually opted to attend the event. This was after I’d drafted a budget for the trip and subtracted it from my savings. I could afford flight tickets and a relatively cheap hotel close to the location of the event – Habitat Guest House, Gwarinpa.
The D-Day cam and I touched down Abuja in an hour and few minutes from take-off while Bolu – my dear friend who rode me to the airport – was still stuck in Lagos traffic.
I ordered a Bolt (Taxify) to Habitat Guest House and in no less than forty minutes, we arrived in Gwarimpa – there was no traffic from the Airport down to the place… Wow, Lagos, wow!
As simple as it looks, Habitat Guest House’s exterior was soothing to the eyes, not spacious but not clustered either and so, I booked a room for two nights and in no more than 3 minutes, I was laying face down on my neatly spread bed that’ll be mine for two nights.
Tunji was happy to see me, although we couldn’t talk much because, durrh, he’s the groom.. the event was a bliss, many a tears shed in joy… and I was back to my room thinking of going back to Lagos the next day, oh my God, Lagos!
I hadn’t planned anything for my trip, just the wedding shenanigans and I fully regret it but I thought to make up for it by just chilling at the bar lodge of the hotel.
I ordered a bottle of Smirnoff Ice and was having a chill time gulping it until I saw a waitress pass with a bowl of really appealing pepper soup she served another customer. Once this guy took off the white wrapped nylon from the bowl that was containing the aroma of the soup, I began to sweat at the back of my head once the smell hit my nostrils.
I knew for sure that I had to have this pepper soup and so I beckoned on the waitress and told her how I want the same bowl as the gentleman next to me… about twenty minutes after, a bowl of goat meat pepper soup was placed right in front of me and at that moment, I knew my half-drunk bottle of SmirnOff wouldn’t wash it down for me and so I ordered for another.
Halfway down into the peppersoup, my lips were on fire, sweat dripping down my whole face and a subtle sniff from time to time, the gentleman who was having his own bowl of soup seemed not to be as into it as I was but he could clearly see that I was having a helluva time with my bowl of soup.
Chuckling, he said “Oga, take am easy nah, the soup no dey run away, hehe” and I responded, “Chairman, nah war oh! We die here”… little did I know that virtually everyone in the bar had heard me and so it erupted into laughter from different corners… I was literally unbothered about what they thought of me and my peppersoup, all I knew was, I’m going to enjoy it to the fullest since I’m about to go back to the reality of Lagos the next day.
About 55minutes after take-off and as we descended, I was beginning to see congested land, I literally could see the traffic along the Airport road to Maryland and was almost crying over what I was about to face, but what gave me succour was the thought of the soup I had the previous night… just as I thought about it, a mild sweat began secreting at the back of my head.

The Ondo State Government has said it is not yet legal to cultivate cannabis, popularly known as Indian hemp, in the state.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who was in Thailand last week in company with the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Muhammad Abdallah, for a programme tagged, ‘Medicinal Cannabis Extract Development’, said the state government would aim to take advantage of the commercial and medicinal value of the plant to create jobs for the youth.
The governor however came under attack since his comments and now he’s warned that cannabis cultivation is yet to be legalised. Speaking through the Commissioner for Information, Yemi Olowolabi, the governor said the state government was in the process of making it legal.
He said ;
“We are still at the elementary stage of this matter. Before we legalise cannabis growing in this state, it has to pass through certain procedures and we have begun the procedures. The assistance we seek from the Federal Government is the collaboration we already have with the NDLEA, which is an agency of the government. Since we are dealing with the NDLEA, we are dealing with the Federal Government.”

In the video for August Alsina’s cover ‘Nunya’, the New Orleans singer is having a text conversation with a woman named ‘Koren’, which fans have pointed out is Jada Pinkett Smith’s middle name.
In the song, August wants more from his girlfriend, giving her time to make him a priority. At a point in the video, he sings the line “You’re just an actress putting on a show,” and a GIF of Jada Pinkett appears on the screen After the two references to Jada, fans are convinced that this song is exposing August and Jada’s affair.

Aderibigbe, who resides in Pedro Area of Lagos has been charged with insult to a religion and disorderly conduct. The Police prosecutor, Sgt. Modupe Olaluwoye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at 8 p.m. on May 13, at No. 49, Onabola St., Ladi-lak area of Bariga, Lagos.
Olaluwoye told the court that Mr Francis Osibowale, the pastor of the Firebrand Power Ministry, caught the defendant’s 15-year-old son vandalising church property.
“My Lord, when Aderibigbe was told that the pastor had taken her son to the station, she took off her clothes inside the church building
The offence, she said, contravened the provisions of sections 124 and 168 (a) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
Aderibigbe pleaded not guilty to the charges read to her. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluwatoyin Oghere, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned until May 22 for mention.

The drama finally turned into jubilation as the founder, Mercy Television, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin surprised everyone by gifting the 3 members who donated N50 with N1,500,000 million naira (N500,000 naira each).
The members who did not anticipate the blessings they left with are said to have given all they had to support the ministry.
Owomowomo 1 as the pastor is fondly called, said he was instructed by God to bless them financially for publicly admitting they gave N50 to support God’s work after he had announced a minimum of N500 donation for the building project.
The thoughtful gesture brought tears to the eyes of the members, they could not believe what had just happened. They left the church happier and richer than they came.
Nse Ikpe-Etim is one of the most successful Nollywood stars in the last decade but she has been on the grind since she was a teenager.
Earlier this month, the award-winning actress held an event “Conversations with Nse” where she opened up on being diagnosed with Adenomyosis, a medical condition in which the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus.
She was then advised to get a hysterectomy. “My world had crumbled. I had died a million times. It was something,” she said in an exclusive interview with BellaNaija‘s Mercy Akamo and IK Nwosu.
She’s choosing to speak up now because it’d help others and it has also helped in completing her healing.
“It seems like I’m the only one that has this issue. It’s fine. Make me the poster child. It’s fine! My point is, would it help someone else? Yes! Has it helped me? Yes! And I choose me, and I choose life and that’s what it is,” she says.
The journey to healing was tough, she said. “I think the only reason I’m holding back on saying how long the struggle has been leading up to this point is because, it’s too harrowing to go through. It’s not just the physical pain, but the emotional, psychological pain. Everything.”
She continued: “But I don’t know how I’m thankful for it. It makes me who I am today. It was tough, but that moment when I knew that I wasn’t going to have children again and the doctor recommended a hysterectomy, my world had crumbled. I had died a million times. It was something.”
Nse got married in 2014 to her high school sweetheart Clifford Sule who she reconnected with years later.
Clifford has been more than supportive to her as they went through the trying times, including when she mentally quit acting and continuously put herself down. Now she’s healing and is ready to live her life to the fullest.
“(Clifford) is an extremely private person so I don’t like talking about him in public. This I’ve done? (Talking about him publicly) I know what it’s done to him. But he understands the larger picture and he knows it’s freedom for me,” she said. She continued:
The healing cycle has just been complete. So now, I’m ready. I’m ready to do my work. I’m ready to go back to work. I quit! Mentally, I had quit. It was over! Because society said so? That’s not right. It took a lot to get here. Constant waking me up at 3am to remind me that “You’re never happy unless you’re working”.
I quit acting! And I never said anything that I took a break, so each time something came up, I wasn’t really interested and that’s what depression does to you. You see nothing good about yourself. I’m speaking up because I know that people go through these things. And you must get out of it. Try, speak to someone. It’s real, it happens. Find something in you to give you strength to move on.
You see, I don’t like saying “my husband”. My friend, kept pushing. The only reason I don’t talk about him, I needed to preserve his privacy and I think he deserves it.
Nse’s family was also there for her too, giving her the needed support.
“If I have to come back to the world, it’ll be the same family. Everyone’s so cool. My mother? Pillar of strength. With my sisters, the bond is too good to be true. We fight hard, we argue about a lot of things but is there love? Yes. Is there light? Yes. And that’s all that really matters,” she said.
She shared parts of her journey with us, with hopes that it helps someone out there going through the something similar, or the same challenge, as it affects millions of women across the world.
The journey has been a long and harrowing one, she said. “I can’t really start from the beginning because that’s too long a journey. I’ll start from when I started healing.”
Nse shared with us how she was able to come out stronger.
Societal Pressure
Because of where we’re from, societal pressure, after you get married, everyone expects you to have a baby. The pressure of getting married is over and everyone is waiting for you to have a baby.
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, herself and her husband do not have any children together, but they have kids and they have people saying to them: “you should have one together”. They have children!
In my own opinion, I just think we should learn to live and it took me a while to understand what it was to just live. I guess my journey in life, my struggles have helped me to appreciate that the gift that keeps on giving is life. I’m here. Have I chosen to live it? To the fullest and yes, I’ll enjoy it too.
After getting married, the pressure set it. It wasn’t family pressure. It was outsiders and the constant barrage of questions. You have someone come up to you and say: “Hi Nse, so when?” When what?! You know, and if you ask “When what?” they’ll say you sound rude. But you’ve just come into myself and you’re asking me personal questions and they’re supposed to be “well meaning”. How well meaning is that? How about you ask, “have you eaten?” Or “are you having a good day”.
You see, those things pressurise you and you start to ask yourself if you’d every be “complete”. Now that’s another kind of pressure again. That’s mental.
Challenges with Giving Birth
And then the struggle comes, I’m not one of those who actually wanted to be in it. But then, I changed my mind because I’ve seen my friend, and he gets me and we start the journey together. And it’s not happening, because I’m struggling.
I think the only reason I’m holding back on saying how long the struggle has been leading up to this point is because, it’s too harrowing to go through. It’s not just the physical pain, but the emotional, psychological pain. Everything. But I don’t know how I’m thankful for it. It makes me who I am today. It was tough, but that moment when I knew that I wasn’t going to have children again and the doctor recommended a hysterectomy, my world had crumbled. I had died a million times. It was something.”
Clifford’s Amazing Support
Someone asked me, “how did you get him to agree?” Hehehe. It was funny because you actually think I got him. He got me to accept! You see. So, yes it was more of a case of “I’d rather have your life than have you dead.”
First of all, I’m thankful for having a friend that understands. Forget what ever relationship exists. But having someone who can get how you’re feeling without actually knowing the pains you go through, is worth it. I think that gave me a bit of a push to accept it. Even though accepting was not in my books. I’d pass snide comments about myself, I’d put myself down constantly, until I finally was in a really dark place.
I wanted nothing, really. And what is even weirder is, I decided that for someone else to be healed, I’d donate what’s left to science. And that’s fine! That’s fine. Because it makes me feel better. It makes me feel like I’m helping someone out there and that for me, was the beginning of my healing. For some people, they say “have faith”.
I’ve got faith that I have peace and that’s everything. I’m not bound by what society thinks, I’m not bound by what anyone feels because after all said and done, I’m here on my journey, I’m walking the path no one else is walking with me.
But, when I look back and see how many women have gone through these things and will never speak, because of shame, the stigma that comes with it. People would even call up verses from the Bible: “We should go out and multiply”. But do you also forget that it did say that “We would have trials and temptations?” There will be things that put our faith to test. Are you willing to accept it?
This is to those people who insist I should grab onto a cloth of a man that’s like me, I think that’s not fair on me. Don’t push anything down my throat. I have made my peace, and I want women to make peace with themselves. These are conversations we never have. Things we hide under rocks out of shame and we no longer have voices because we think that the world would crucify us. Okay fine, crucify me, but hear it! I suffered and I chose life. I’m thankful that I’ve got the best support ever and that’s all that truly matters and it’s happening everywhere.
The 2019 Big Brother Naija Show is just a few weeks away and we are excited! Although, the exact date has not yet been confirmed, however organizers of the show stated that it will air this June.
For those of you new to big brother, here’s a rundown.
A group of people all live under the same roof for 3 months in a house with multiple HD cameras and microphones recording their every move all day. Each week, the housemates compete to vote out one of their own, until the last remaining player claims a whopping prize.
Last year, the show tagged ‘Double Wahala’ had housemates with different abilities who proved that there is more to them than just their pretty faces.
Well this year, the bar has been raised and our expectations are at its peak. Here’s a list of what we expect from the contestants.
1. Realness: This should be a given quality. I mean you will be spending 90 days in the house, how long can you hide who you really are? Best be real and rip out the band aid sooner than later and let people accept you for who you are.
2. Fun: As you all know, Saturday night parties are usually lit and we expect some fun housemates this year. Last year, the show had Alex and Tobi who people referred to as the lives of the party as they were the most talked about dancers in the house. So please get your party shoes on!
3. Fashion Sense: At the end of the day, wouldn’t you like to be remembered in a certain way during and after the show? I mean we are not saying that you should be a style icon but please, come with a sense of style and originality. Be yourself!
4. Diction: Need we say this? contestants should please speak proper English or better yet Pidgin English. Let’s not get the two twisted.
5. Talent: Past BBNaija housemates were recognized for their individuality and talent. Housemates like Bisola Aiyeola was known for her music and acting talent, Miyonse who is now a known Chef are the best examples of how far talent can take you in the house. So, yes, talent does count.
6. Be Smart: The most important quality of a BBNaija contestant is being smart – the capacity for logic, understanding, self-awareness and learning is extremely important especially during the various BBNaija tasks.
Also, it comes to play when differentiating between friend, foe and lover in the house. In fact, being smart may be the most important point on our list.
So there you have it! The six things we expect from contestants at this year’s Big Brother Naija Show. Do you agree with the list?

Juventus’ Portugues striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Serie A Player of the Season award, in his first season in Italian club.
Cristiano Ronaldo inspired the Old Lady to their eighth straight Scudetto with his 21 goals in the league.
The planning of the honor is irregular as Serie A individual honors have dependably been given out all in the meantime, after the finish of the season, yet Ronaldo will be given before their match against Atalanta on Sunday.
The 34-year-old joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 2018 in a deal reported to be worth €100m (£88m/$112m) from Real Madrid.
He left Real Madrid as the club’s all-time top goalscorer, and after having won three consecutive Champions League titles.
Zainab Aliyu, a Nigerian who was detained in Saudi Arabia for alleged drug trafficking, says she learnt “pure Arabic” and memorised half of the Qur’an during her 124-day stay in prison.
Aliyu was arrested on December 26 after tramadol, a drug prohibited in Saudi Arabia was found in her bag.
The 22-year-old student of the Maitama Sule University, Kano, had travelled to Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj alongside her mother and sister.
She, was, however, arrested by Saudi authorities over allegations that the bag bearing her name tag contained tramadol.
In an interview with Daily Trust, she narrated her experience in detention, how she found it hard to trust people and eventually got close to an Ethiopian lady simply identified as Rehisty.
She explained that she suffered communication gap with Rehisty whom she said understands little English while she (Aliyu), knew just a bit of Arabic.
“I met several people. But I can assure you, it took me some days before I could trust some of the inmates. That’s because after realizing that I was actually framed, I couldn’t bring myself to trust anyone. I did not trust anybody there, even among my roommates. The only person that I can say I trusted, is one Ethiopian lady with whom I was brought in,” Aliyu said.
“Yes, but only the Ethiopian lady I mentioned earlier, called Rehisty. When we were brought there, together, we found it difficult to communicate, because she could only understand a little English, and I understand only a little Arabic. So, it took us some time before we started communicating, in Arabic, which I picked up while in detention.
“I learnt pure Arabic. I also joined Tahfiuz school, and Alhamdulillah, I was able to memorize half of the Holy Qur’an during my stay in the prison. I also learnt how to live with people from different backgrounds.
Narrating her ordeal from when she was picked up in her hotel room till when she was released, Aliyu said it took about a week for her to come to terms that she was in prison.
She, however, said she and the other inmates were well taken care of, adding that she experienced no form of harassment or intimidation.
“I spent almost one week without knowing that I was in a prison, because I did not commit any offence,” she said.
“They treated us like human beings. Nobody humiliated or harassed anyone in there. And I spent 124 days there.”
Aliyu thanked the federal government and everyone who worked towards securing her release.
She cautioned that she is not on social media, raising the alarm that some people have opened social media accounts in her name.
“I thank President Muhammadu Buhari, Madam Abike Dabiri, and the Minister of Justice, Justice Malami, and all others who in one way or the other contributed to my release,” she said.
“I am also calling on some people who have created Instagram and Twitter handles, and even a Facebook account in my name, to please stop, because it is not good to deceive people. Honestly, I am not on social media, so the general public should take note.”
Aliyu was released from prison in April and returned to Nigeria on May 13.

Gundumi has been remanded in Jos prison by Plateau State High Court for allegedly killing Mrs. Hajara during sex. He confessed to have been having secret sexual relationship with the woman before and after she got married to her husband.
The suspect who hails from Zango-Dinya village of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State is married with three wives and 14 children, but still enjoys keeping concubines he sleeps with outside his home. He claimed to have dated Hajara during her active youthful years before she got married to Markus Jagaba.
Nemesis caught-up with Gundumi when their sexual relationship turned sour on November 21, 2018, a day Hajara allegedly died having sex with him in an exclusive location in Jos.
It was gathered that the late Hajara had lied to her husband that she was going for a wedding programme at Jakandagiwa village in Bauchi State and demanded for permission to be away for some days. She however took advantage of the wedding to go for the extra-marital affair that ended her life.
According to his statement to police filed before Justice Daniel Longji of the Plateau State High Court, Jos, Gundumi, argued that he does not have a hand in the death of his ex-lover, Hajara but admitted he was together with her when she died.
Gundumi, who is cooling his heels at the Jos Prison, was charged with culpable homicide, an offence he allegedly committed on November 21, 2018.
The police alleged that Gundumi, on that fateful day committed the act of adultery with the deceased when he lured her out of her matrimonial home to have sexual intercourse with her, an offence that contravened section 368 of the Penal Code.
It was revealed that Gundumi intentionally dumped the body of the deceased by the roadside, after he realised that she had died while they were having sex. He was accused of refusing to inform the police of Hajara’s death, thereby contravening sections 189 and 102 of the Penal Code.
How it happened
In his statement, he denied killing his lover, stating that he woke up to make love to her in the middle of the night only to find her dead.
“I have known Hajara before she got married; we have been in a relationship for a long time. In between, she got married and got divorced twice, but we still kept on seeing each other until she got married again a few years ago.
“Whenever I wanted to have sexual relationship with her, I invite her to the bush where we will `catch our fun’, and she will return home. On the said date, we arranged to meet at my friend’s place, one Ojukwu, who is also married, after she told her husband that she was going for a wedding in Bauchi State.
“As agreed, we met at Ojukwu’s house and he (Ojukwu), gave us a room to pass the night. Ojukwu’s wife later sent a boy with `garri’ (cassava flour), and kuli-kuli (groundnut cake), to Hajara, which she soaked and took, after which she retired to sleep.
“I woke up at 2 am to make love to her, but discovered that she was motionless. I quickly ran to Ojukwu’s room to alert him, but his wife told me that he did not sleep at home.”
Gundumi was left in confusion, he picked his phone and called Ojukwu to inform him of the tragedy and suggested that the matter should be reported to the police. But his friend, Ojukwu allegedly insisted that the matter should not be reported to the police because it would land him in serious trouble.
Gundumi in his statement claimed that Ojukwu advised him to dump the body by the roadside, which they both did, and went their separate ways. Six days after Hajara’s lifeless body was dumped, there was commotion in front of his house and as he peeped through the window, he discovered that policemen had stormed his house to arrest him.
His surrender
Luckily, he escaped inside the bush and stayed there for three days after which his daughter called to tell him that the police had taken his elder brother away. “I felt bad when I heard that sad news that my brother had been taken away by the police and I decided to surrender myself to the police”.
Gundumi insisted that he had no hand in the death of the woman. “I did not kill her. But I may not know if my friend’s wife poisoned the `garri’ she gave her because that was the last thing she took before going to bed.’’
Her husband opens up
The deceased husband, Mr Markus Jagaba, 44, in his statement, stated that his wife took permission from him to attend a wedding at Jakandangiwa village in Bauchi State. Jagaba added that he allowed her to go because it was a family occasion and he did not suspect that she was going to meet another man.
“My wife told me she was going to attend a family occasion at Jakandangiwa village in Bauchi State. I did not argue with her. I simply allowed her to go because I didn’t know she had other plans.
“I became worried when she did not return home after the wedding and did not respond to my phone calls. I called her family members and was shocked to learn that she was not at the wedding.
“When we did not see her after searching everywhere, my family and I reported the matter to the police after which I was called by the police, some days later, to come over and identify the corpse which I confirmed to be my wife’s.’’

A National Youth Service Corps member is currently nursing his broken heart after his wife reportedly got pregnant for another man, his BESTFRIEND.
No young man or old man would pray to be in the shoes of Elias Audu. The accursed fate that has befallen him is terrible and a huge blow to his ego.
Last year, one month before he reported at the NYSC camp in Osun State, Audu had married his young wife. The graduate of Nasarawa State University Keffi, an indigene of Keana Local Government Area of the state, then patriotically proceeded to Osun State where he is presently serving his fatherland. In the meantime, the wife he wedded 10 months ago, Tessy, continues to live in their rented apartment in Lafia. The native of Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, a Second Year diploma student at Nasarawa State Polytechnic, had embarked on and completed a three-month industrial attachment.
The couple agreed to put on hold pregnancy till he completes his national service and return to Nasarawa to find a good job. Then they can turn their attention to the critical matter of giving his aged and anxious mother a grandchild. Now, three months to the end of his national service, Audu’s world came crashing down. He returned home last week to find his wife pregnant. Guess who impregnated his wife: His best friend.
The crisis before marriage
Audu, still dazed by shock, recounts the sequence of events leading to the scandal in an exclusive chat with our correspondent.
His narration: “I got married 10 months ago to my wife after we resolved our differences due to my discovery that she was going out with someone else. Initially, I did not intend to go into a serious relationship after that discovery I mean, I was so much in love with her only for her to have jilted me. I vowed never to have any serious relationship with any woman until after my service year. But we got over the episode. She convinced me and proved to be a different woman. She loved me genuinely, and despite my resolve, I found myself falling in love with her again. It began gradually and with time, I could not do without her. She made me forget the past. In no time, all I could think of was to be with her for the rest of my life.”
The pressure to marry
“The pressure to get married from my old mum was overwhelming. My father had put pressure on me to get married and bear him grandchildren before his death. Unfortunately, he died six years ago without seeing my children. Being the only son in the family, my mother understandably also put me under pressure, that her time is almost up in this world and she would want to see me bear children before her final exit. That was the pressure that pushed me into getting married before my NYSC. When I took her to meet my mother, she fell in love with her on the spot and told me she was the very woman who would give her grandchildren. We got married soon after and look forward to a happy family with our kids. But we both agree that she will not “take in” until after my service year, little did I know that the devil would use my best friend to destroy my home.”
The man who got her pregnant
“I grow up together with Mike Agu in Keana. We are childhood friends. We attended the same primary school and also the same secondary school, Government Science School Lafia. He was fortunate to have gotten admission into the university before me. Nonetheless, we were very close friends. When I joined him at the university the following year, we were like brothers. Our relationship grew beyond ordinary friendship.
“When my name came out for the 2018 Batch B NYSC, I proceeded to Osun State immediately. My wife could not visit me in Osun because three of us who are corpers lived in one room. There was no need for her to come around since accommodation will be a problem her coming around means I have to rent my own apartment which is beyond my means. Since I did not have the means, I decided she should not visit. I was not happy to leave my new wife all alone for one year, but she was equally in school and we needed to understand ourselves; more so, with my close friends and relations in Lafia, I felt she was in safe hands.
“While in Osun, I kept in touch with her as much as I could. My friends I spoke and chatted with also told me she was doing great. I had told Mike Agu, who was the closest to me, to always check my rented apartment in Lafia to see that my wife was doing well. Mike had finished his service year and was teaching in a private school in Lafia. How could I have known that I was putting my wife in harm’s way?”
The shocking discovery
“Throughout this year, I have not visited home due to the tight schedule of my duties at my place of primary assignment. My last visit was in November 2018. I had got some break and decided to visit home again. I arrived home with so much joy. The first warning sign was when I got to the park and my wife was not around to welcome me as usual.
“It was her next-door neighbour that came to welcome me at the park. Even Mike, my friend, whom I have been communicating with since I left Osun State, was nowhere at the park. When I asked why my wife was not at the park, her neighbour told me she was not feeling too well and they advised her to stay at home. I did not buy that explanation but I kept quiet and could not wait to get home. When I got home, I met the shock of my life. There stood my wife with a protruding stomach.
I was transfixed, trying to recall if there was any time she told me she was pregnant, but I could not remember any. Her neighbour was in an unusual hurry to leave. After her departure, I asked my wife what was going on. She broke down and confessed that Mike seduced her, they had sex and the pregnancy resulted. As for Mike, I have not called him since I came back home. I leave him to his conscience.”
My dilemma
“When I visited my mother in the village, she was so happy that her son’s new wife is pregnant. The news has reached her! My mother believes that I am responsible for the pregnancy. She is not aware of the arrangement we had to wait until after my NYSC programme. I am still in shock and confused about what to do at the moment. But one thing I know is that she can’t be my wife again and forever. I want her to take the decision herself instead of waiting for me to push her out. I am not even going to tell my mother. From here, I am going back to Osun State and I will not come back to Nasarawa State until after my passing out. I intend to settle down in Abuja or Lagos to look for something doing. Between me and her, it is over. I will move on with my life.”
Tessy’s story
When a correspondent contacted Tessy after her lectures at the Polytechnic, she burst into tears wailing that what ought to be a family secret (and hopefully settled internally) has been exposed to the media by her husband.
“I had never cheated on my husband since I got married to him,
I never even contemplated it, but the temptation of s*x pushed me into it. I consider it the devil’s work. I am a victim,” she cries.
Tessy makes a clean breast of it: “The truth is that before I got married to him, I had four abortions from unwanted pregnancies, and I almost lost my life in the last abortion. The doctor warned me not to do abortion again, that it might damage my womb. I can’t explain actually how Mike, his closest friend, find his way into me. He actually lured me to his house after an outing. And truly, he was good in bed, which attracted me to make it regularly.
“Mike was so good in bed he soon wiped the memories of my husband’s touch from my mind. I lost control of myself. We had sex every day after he closed from work. I always joined him after I closed from my place of work where I was doing my IT. We had s*x daily, including weekends for two months; I soon forgot that I was actually a married woman.
“As the second month, I began to notice changes in my body. I later found out from a test that I was more than a month pregnant. I told my neighbour that I had been doing it with Mike all these while. She asked me the way forward, and the answer till date is difficult because I didn’t want to lose either my life or womb due to another round of abortion; this child might be my last opportunity.
“For several weeks, I slept and thought over it; I was in turmoil, I never knew what to do, because how will my husband react to this when he got to know after we both agreed to hold ourselves until he completes his service? On the other hand, I prayed to God that when he eventually knows, he should allow me to keep the pregnancy because it might be my last opportunity to have a child. At the moment I am not prepared to abort it. So, I am waiting patiently for his decision.
So what about Mike Agu, who put her in the family way?
“He has left Lafia to an unknown place since he discovered that my husband is back,” Tessy says. “And since the sad development, his two lines have not been going through. I can’t reach him.”
Currently, she is distressed, at a crossroads. Says she: “ I don’t know what to do, I am waiting for his (Audu’s) final decision on me. But I have told my parents to seek a loan to pay my husband back his pride price. I know I have disappointed him, but I am pleading with him to forgive me.”
Mike Agu, the villain
An effort was made to reach Mike Agu, the man who got his friend’s wife pregnant, for his own side of the story. Eventually, our correspondent got to him through the Vice Principal of the school where he is a teacher.
Without mincing words, Agu blames Tessy for the misadventure.
Here is his response: “The girl demanded sex from me after I took her out; she actually begged for it and temptation overtook me. When she made it a regular thing without contraceptive, I raised the issue of pregnancy but she said she knows when to get pregnant and that she doesn’t enjoy s*x with a condom.”
He is nonetheless ashamed of his conduct. “I feel so ashamed and disappointed with myself,” he laments. “This matter will linger long in our village and it will affect the cordial relationship between myself and Elias, including our parents. It is too bad that the devil has used me. I don’t know how to apologize to him. I have betrayed his trust and confidence in me. May God forgive me of my sins.”
About a fortnight after he promised to compensate him with a whooping sum of One million naira, Davido has finally fulfilled his promise to Shokki Shitta after the latter was assaulted for hailing him.
News made the rounds about two weeks ago of a particular Shokki Shitta who was beaten by fans of Wizkid because he spoke out against the “Come closer” crooner and hailed his counterpart, Davido.
In reaction to this, Davido promised to bless him with One Million Naira but weeks later, he was yet to fulfill his promise and so, Shokki took to social media to state that the singer hadn’t given him the money he was promised. See here
Well, in a new video circulating on social media, it appears that Shokki has finally received the money he was promised and for someone who claimed to be used to receiving millions of Naira, he seems rather overly ecstatic as he receives this one.
