Naira Marley still in Ikoyi Prison, friends staged his freedom – EFCC
There’s a video circulating on social media which shows Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley going into a private car with several captions claiming that the singer has been released.
A top EFCC source who spoke to SaharaReports has said the video was a mere propaganda by his friends who are desparate to launder his image, as the singer is still very much remanded in Ikoyi Prison.
At the court, SaharaReporters saw some friends of Naira Marley talking to journalists to write their story of the arraignment in favor of the musician.
The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday ordered that Nigeria singer be remanded in prison until May 30th when the hearing of his bail application will take place.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo presided over the arraignment.
Naira Marley was charged to court at the behest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on 11 count charge bordering on cybercrime, possession of counterfeit cards and conspiracy to obtain gain.
Nigerian lady destroys her phone after she was caught cheating
A Nigerian man identified has taken to Yabaleftonline Official Facebook Group to reveal the drastic act his girlfriend did after she was caught cheating.

Photo of Naira Marley’s mother in tears as lawyer explains her son’s situation
As news continue to make the rounds of Nigerian singer, Naira Marley‘s arraignment earlier today, a new photo shows his mother in a tragic state as she’s being briefed on the fate of her son.
We earlier reported that eyewitnesses accounted to seeing the singer’s mother bursting into tears as she watched her son stand before a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, today Monday, 20th of May, 2019.
The accounts are being proven as can be seen in this photo where lawyers are briefing the singer’s mother(far right) on what the future could possibly be like for her son.
Naira Marley pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him. In view of his pleas, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, asked the court for a trial date.
He also prayed for accelerated hearing of the case and urged the court to remand the defendant in prison custody.
Internet Fraud: Naira Marley Arraigned, Remanded in Prison Custody
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on May 20, 2019 arraigned a Nigerian artiste, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, before Justice Nicholas I. Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on an 11-count charge bordering on cybercrime.
The defendant was arrested on May 10, 2019, following intelligence report received by the Commission about his alleged involvement in internet fraud.
One of the counts reads: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and Yad Isril (still at large), on or about the 26th day of November, 2018, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, conspired amongst yourself to use Access card no : 5264711020433662 issued to persons other than you in a bid to obtain gain and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27(1) (b) of the Cybercrime Prohibition, Prevention etc Act 2015 and punishable under Section 33(2) of the same Act.”
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
In view of his pleas, the prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, asked the court for a trial date.
He also prayed for accelerated hearing of the case and urged the court to remand the defendant in prison custody.
Counsel to the defendant, Taiwo Oluwa Ore- Agba, asked the court for a date to hear the bail application on behalf his client.
Consequently, Justice Oweibo adjourned the case to May 30, 2019 and ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody pending the hearing of the bail application.
Naira Marley pleads not guilty; to be remanded in prison custody till May 30th.
In a new development over the news of Nigerian singer, Naira Marley getting arraigned in court today, the singer has pleaded not guilty to the court and is going to be remanded in prison custody till the end of this month.
Photos that have trailed his arraignment shows him looking subdued as he stands before a panel sitting in court earlier this morning where he’s reportedly made a plea of ‘not guilty’. See photos here.

I’ll employ graduates as BRT drivers, increase their salarym N100, 000 – Sanwo-Olu
Governor-Elect of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said he will reduce reckless driving in BRT by employing graduates as drivers and adding more dignity to the work.
Sanwo-Olu spoke Saturday during an interactive session with his classmates at the Executive Master of Business Administration class, University of Lagos, 1998/2000 set.
Sanwo’s classmates asked Sanwo-Olu how he would address the recklessness of some of the BRT bus drivers.
He said ;
“The BRT issue is something that has to do with culture. When we take over, by the Grace of God, we will advertise and see if we can employ some of our graduates as drivers.
“What I realised is that apart from the money we will be paying them, which is more than what they are paying an average graduate, we need to very quickly tell our people and encourage ourselves that there is dignity in work. We are going to be paying (them) between N80,000 and N100,000 to come and drive these buses because we expect a lot more decency.
“By the time we get the culture of the drivers’ right, the routes are coming up, by the time we finish the Abule-Egba/Iyana Ipaja/Ikeja route, it will boost the number of BRT (buses).”
Accordingly to Sanwo-Olu, Lagos could one day adopt technology to upgrade and model the BRT ticketing system after what is obtainable in the United Kingdom.
At the dinner, the governor-elect also explained his plans to eradicate gridlock around the cit.
He said his administration hoped to, by the middle of next year, complete the blue rail starting from Okokomaiko, through to Mile 2, Orile and Marina.
“The water will work, BRT buses will work and rail will work,” Sanwo-Olu added.

Naira Marley to be arraigned by EFCC today on fraud charges
Embattled rapper, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, will be arraigned at the Federal High Court in Lagos today to face 11 charges bordering on fraud against him for alleged credit card fraud.
The rapper will be having his first court appearance after spending ten days behind bars.
Naira Marley effectively risks seven years in jail if found guilty in accordance with Section 33 (2) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) Act, 2015.
The charge with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 was filed before a Lagos State High Court last Wednesday. Some of the credit cards, according to the EFCC, bore the names- Nicole Louise Malyon, and Timea Fedorne Tatar.

Governor-elect of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised to decongest Apapa road of trailers and containers causing heavy traffic within the first 60 days of his administration.
“There is a lot of politics being played around there. But no, it cannot be the way we’ll continue to live. We cannot continue to give excuses” he said.
Sanwo-Olu made the promise on Saturday during an interactive session with his classmates at the Executive Master of Business Administration class, University of Lagos, 1998/2000 set.
At the event, the governor promised to get rid of the gridlock that has characterized Apapa road for many years irrespective of the politics involved.
He said, “The Apapa trailer issue; it’s a campaign issue; it’s very serious; I’m going to take it very seriously. “I believe that it is something that we are going to solve in the first 60 days of our government.
