In a post shared on his Instagram page recently, the singer wrote;

Tiwa Savage leaves Mavin Records, Don Jazzy writes moving Tribute to Her.. She Responds!

One of the biggest African female acts, Tiwa Savage has left Don Jazzy’s Record Label, Mavins Record.. and she has signed a record deal with Universal Music Group.

Some of the facilitators present at the signing of the deal on Thursday, May 2, 2019, are Joel Katz, Efe Ogbeni, Vanessa Amadi (Stealth Management), Sipho Dlamini, Managing Director of Universal Music South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa (English-speaking), Adam Granite, Executive Vice President, Market Development at Universal Worldwide and Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group Worldwide.

As an effect of this contract, the singer has also left the Don Jazzy-founded, Mavin Records which she joined seven years ago during its transition from Mo’Hits Records. During her time with the label, she has transformed from just a talented singer to an A-lister, show headliner and multiple award-winner.

She just might have taken the buzz away from teen actress, Regina Daniels, Tonto Dikeh is currently having tongues wagged on social media following her explosive interview where she demeans heavily, the father of her child.

In spite of cautioning from fans, followers and colleagues, Tonto is unapologetic of her decision and she’s viciously prepared to clapback or drag anyone who directly or indirectly outs her.

She’s currently had a spar with actress, Funke Adesiyan and this time actor, IK Ogbonna seems to wanna hava taste.

It all started when the alleged gay actor took to his Instastories to shade a certain person who had broken the internet without putting her child into consideration.

Ifu Ennada has reacted to the arrest of over 70 women at an Abuja nightclub, a move she described as pure insanity and evil.

The reality show star who imagined hanging out with her friends and getting bullied and sexually abused by the police she said are hooligans, said she wrote about the incident as it affects all young Nigerian women.

Condemning the arrest of over 70 women at an Abuja nightclub, Ifu Ennada wrote;

Heard this news about some Abuja policemen who raided different nightclubs, arrested over 70 women, because they were clubbing, accused them of being prostitutes and went on to rape some of them using pure water bags as condoms.

This is pure insanity and evil. I’m writing about this because this situation affects all of us as young Nigerian women. That could have been you or me! Imagine hanging out with your girls and getting bullied and sexually abused by these hooligans all because you are dressed “a certain way” and because you just happen to be at the club.

Nigerian music record label, X3M Music has announced the departure of one of its recording artistes, Simisola Ogunleye simply known as ‘Simi’ following the expiration of her recording contract.

The Lagos-based label confirmed in a statement signed by A&R executive Vincent Nwanze, that both parties have determined to not renew the contract.

In a career that is still budding, Simi has emerged as one of the most remarkable music talents of her time; fusing a peerless skill for writing and arranging, with a vocal prowess like none before her.

Her special voice, an unassuming look, and writing talent are what attracted her to X3M when she was signed in 2014. She immediately warmed hearts with the hit single ‘Tiff’ which earned her a Headies nomination. Her debut album for X3M (her career second) was released to local and international acclaim in September 2017, and named album of the year in 2018, by The Headies Awards.

Jealous husband slice off part of man’s ear for saying ‘hi’ to his wife

A quite jealous husband reportedly sliced off part of a man’s ear all because he said “hi” to his wife.

One Ajmal Mahroof, a father-of-five, allowed his emotions get the best of him when he saw the victim walking through a park – he then confronted him and asked, “you have been talking to my wife – why?”

He went on to physically attack the man, during which he cut off a piece of his ear. The victim was left permanently disfigured and scarred from the wound as surgeons had to stitch his left ear back together after the attack.

A judge said Ajmal’s reaction was “over-the-top“. He said all that happened between Mahroof’s wife and the victim was an “exchange of greetings”.

Leeds Crown Court heard Mahroof carried out the attack close to Hyrstlands Park, Batley, West Yorkshire, on October 17 last year.

Mahroof, 37, was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to wounding with intent and possession of a blade in public.

Sentencing Mahroof, Judge Mushtaq Khokhar said,

“This particular incident is concerning because you did not know [the victim] from Adam. It was just because you saw him talking to your partner. What took place between them was simply an exchange of greetings.”

Carmel Pearson, prosecuting, said Mahroof’s wife was waiting for her husband in the park at 1pm when the victim recognized her as a friend of his own girlfriend.

Miss Pearson said the victim approached Mahroof’s wife to say “hi” but “she immediately told him not to stop and talk, saying her husband would be along.”

The man then walked away but Mahroof pulled up alongside him in his car a short time later. He jumped out of the vehicle and produced a machete.

Mahroof said to him: “You have been talking to my wife.”

The man told Mahroof that he had only said “hi” but Mahroof swore at him and called him a liar.

He said: “You have been talking to my wife, why?”

According to Mirror UK, Mahroof then struck him to the side of the head, causing a cut to the ear. He then hit him again, causing cuts to his fingers. A third blow struck him again on the ear, slicing part of it off.

Mahroof, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire in England, was arrested after a member of the public who witnessed the incident took a picture of his car.

Mahroof has previous convictions for violence and drugs offences.

Last month was filled with so many Dramas.. and it seems as though this new month may carry the same energy as last month.

It’s just the first day of May, and we already have a reignited Churchill vs. Tonto Dikeh Drama.

Tonto Dikeh in new videos on her YouTube page has called out her ex-husband, Churchill once again.. and this time she’s got receipts.

She started from saying she never wanted to ‘keep’ her pregnancy, to calling her Churchill a fraud, who is into Yahoo Plus. She claimed she ‘caught’ churchill in the midst of red candles with a laptop in his laps, and several red cloth and pants on his waist. (See Here).

A young Nigerian gentleman, who is based in Warri, Rivers state and is certainly a hopeless romantic has had people talking online after a video which shows the impressive effort he put in to propose to his bae, emerged online.

The soon-to-be groom, Elijah, staged a fake police raid by armed uniformed men who stormed their apartment for an “arrest”.

After bringing out the house occupants, the said ‘policemen’ ordered all of them to kneel down – her boyfriend who pretended to be assaulted by the police, finally knelt down and proposed to the girl who was too stunned, that she bolted from their midst after briefly hugging his friends.

Spanish sports paper Marca reports that the new owner is Cristiano Ronaldo, despite previous claims that it was bought by Ferdinand Piech, former chairman of the Volkswagen Group.

The owner will not be able to drive the car until 2021 as the company still needs to finalise some small details on the prototype, according to reports.

It was also reported that the French luxury company built only one of the super car to pay tribute to the 110th anniversary of the founding of the company.

EFCC Storms Hostels Occupied By IMSU Students In Search Of Yahoo Boys

Operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reportedly stormed Flora and Faith Villas in Okwu-Uratta Students’ Alliance (OSA), Okwu-Uratta Community of Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri and arrested about 10 suspects.

It was gathered that the raid by the EFCC officials took place in the wee hours of the day, around 4:00am as they searched for suspected internet fraudsters otherwise known as ‘Yahoo Boys’.

Men of the EFCC were reported to have carted away with some cars (Benz) belonging to some of the suspects while rounding-up about 10 suspects.

Reacting to the operation, the President of Okwu-Uratta Students’ Alliance (OSA) Comr. Precious Godwin aka Dr. Lens has frowned at the incident and actions by the men of the EFCC.

In a statement made to Duru Victor when contacted, he accused the EFCC of intimidation and infringing on the fundamental human rights of the students who are only going about their normal businesses.

1,071 people were killed and 685 were kidnapped in first quarter of 2019 – Police IG reveals

Mohammed Adamu, the acting Inspector-General of Police has said that 1,071 persons lost their lives in crime-related cases across the country in the first quarter of 2019. The IGP made this known during the quarterly Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council meeting held on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Adamu said the crime statistics showed that between January and April, at least 685 persons were kidnapped across the country. He said 767 of the persons killed were from the North. Giving a further breakdown of the deaths, Adamu said the North-West topped the death list with 436; North-Central came second with 250; while the South-South geopolitical zone recorded 130 deaths during the period under review.

He added that Zamfara State with 203 murder cases topped the national prevalence rate, Kaduna State followed closely with 112 reported cases while 90 people were killed in Benue State. According to him, most of the murder cases recorded in the North are linked to banditry and communal violence. In relation to banditry, he said, a total of 175 deaths were reported between January and April this year with Zamfara State topping the list with 104 reported cases, followed by Katsina State with 21 killed by bandits and Sokoto State with 19 cases.

On kidnappings, the IGP said 546 or 79.8 per cent of the national total were recorded in the three northern geopolitical zones. He said the highest zonal prevalence rate occurred in the North-West where 365 persons were reportedly kidnapped within the period under review.

“This is followed by the North-Central geopolitical zone where 145 persons were kidnapped. It is pertinent to mention that Zamfara State has the highest national kidnap rate with 281 victims in what has been directly linked to the activities of bandits in the state. This is followed by Kogi and Niger states where 65 and 51 persons, respecrively were kidnapped within the period,” the IG added.

On armed robbery, Adamu disclosed that a total of 212 major armed robbery cases were reported nationally within the period under review. Adamu further said the North with 130 major robbery cases representing 59.43 per cent of the national total incident rate topped the list of armed robbery profile.

“The North-Central geopolitical zone with a total of 81 armed robbery cases represents the zone with the highest rate while Niger State, the FCT and Zamfara State with 32, 23 and 18 cases, respectively occupy the three topmost states in the national armed robbery profile,” he said. Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad (111), said the monarchs in the North should not be blamed for the sundry cases of kidnapping, banditry and armed robbery.
