President Muhammadu Buhari has cast his vote for the Governorship and State House of assembly election at Kofar Baru 003 polling unit in Daura, Katsina state.

President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, on Saturday joined hundreds of other voters to exercise their civic rights at polling unit 003 Kofar Baru III, Gidan Niyam, Daura, Katsina State.

The president accompanied by his wife arrived the polling unit at about 8.00a.m, where both of them were accredited and issued ballot papers by the unit presiding officer, Aliyu Abdullahi.

The president and his wife, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) numbers 187 and 182, voted at exactly 8.08a.m to elect their preferred candidates for Katsina State governor and legislator.

The Nigerian first couple had performed similar civic duties during the February 23 Presidential and National elections at the same polling unit.

President Buhari defeated his closest opponent, Atiku Abubakar,the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when he polled15,191,847 as against 11, 255,978 scored by Atiku.

INEC had since offered President Buhari the certificate of return.

A Nigerian lady who survived a ghastly motor accident, which split her head open, has shared photos of her amazing transformation as she thanks God for healing and mercy.

Peace Edwin Ntuk, a Nigerian political activist, was involved in an accident on 5th of July 2018 – the accident rendered her car completely useless but she was lucky to have escaped alive.

However, she was severely injured in the crash and had to get multiple stitches on her forehead. Gracefully, she’s back on her feet less than one year after the accident and also in good health.

In new reports, over 20,000 Nigerian girls are trapped in Mali as sex slaves.

A report by Al Jazeera News reveals and confirms a “collusion between Malian law enforcement and traffickers is hampering rescue efforts”.

The sex trade business is reported to be flourishing in the country because it benefits many influential people, also making it difficult for the girls to escape.

The victims are reportedly forced to have sex with up to ten men a day.

The report also revealed that a Nigerian government agency has been making moves to get freedom for the victims. Some of them were captured in a documentary looking helpless with their situation.

According to an anti-human trafficking activist, Prosper Michael, in a clip shared on Al Jazeera’s Twitter account on Thursday, the efforts made so far to stop the crime has been lacking the desired impact because many are gaining from the problem.

There are also reports of intimidation of Nigerians who have attempted to deliver the women from captors who promised them a means of living but never delivered on their vow. Those who attempted a rescue were reportedly forced to leave the vicinity where the girls are being held.

An unemployed gentleman who got divorced not long ago, recently won a whooping $273 million mega millions jackpot and his ex-wife has reacted to the rather interesting turn of events.

According to Fox News, the couple was married for 15 years until they divorced last year October.

The ex-wife, Eileen Murray, has said she has no plans to reunite with him despite his new-found wealth.

Speaking with New York Post, she said,

“He’s not appealing to me all of a sudden because he has this money,”

She also told the New York Post that she paid spousal support and continues to make payments.

Pastor Advices Husband To Pay Salaries To Their Wives

A Pentecostal pastor in Ghana, Apostle Ekow Badu Wood, has made the point that it is about time husbands started paying their wives monthly wages for home-keeping.

According to Apostle Wood, wives deserve a monthly payment because of their invaluable contribution to running the home effectively.

The Christian leader’s argument is based on a feminist and women’s empowerment principle that home-keeping should be counted as an economic activity. After all, the work has to be done by somebody at a cost. The Pentecost pastor told a story of a time when his wife travelled and left their children with him.

For him, the struggle to cater for the kids in his wife’s absence meant that he clearly had not been raised with the necessary skills to undertake such chores.

Apostle Wood believes it is unfair that so much house chores women do are taken for granted.

Apostle Wood, a former general secretary of the Church of Pentecost quipped: “A fair way of showing gratitude for selfless service to the family is for the husbands to pay a monthly salary to their wives. This payment is as a form of motivation to encourage them to do more.”

He added that the peace, calm and stability enjoyed in many homes emanates from the good works of wives who go the extra mile to pull all the strings to ensure sanity in the home.

‘He’s guilty as hell’ – R Kelly’s former lawyer declares

The lawyer who defended R. Kelly in a decade-old child pornography case has just said that the R&B legend was guilty of those charges and even received anti-libido drugs to help contain his urges.

“He was guilty as hell!” Ed Genson, told the Chicago Sun-Times from his Deerfield Ill., home. He however said he believes “Trapped in the Closet” singer hasn’t done anything “inappropriate” in years.

“I’ll tell you a secret. I had him go to a doctor to get shots, libido-killing shots. That’s why he didn’t get arrested for anything else” he said. Genson, who has terminal bile duct cancer, told the paper he doesn’t feel ambivalent about getting Kelly acquitted and keeping him out of prison in 2008.

“I didn’t facilitate him. He had already done what he’d done. I did facilitate him in the sense I kept him out of trouble for 10 years. I was vetting his records. I listened to them, which ones would make a judge mad” Genson said.

One song in particular; 2003’s “Ignition” tipped Genson off that the singer might be into underage girls, he said. “I was riding in the car, listening to a song and said, ‘Are you crazy? This is all I need,’” Genson recalled. “It’s a song related to a guy driving around in a car with his girlfriend. It was originally a high school instructor in a class teaching people how to drive a car. I changed the words,” he said.

Even though Kelly has written numerous hit songs, Genson said the star is “not a very bright person” and might have become reckless after beating child pornography raps in Florida.

“What he doesn’t understand is this: If you win a case with somebody, they think they’re bulletproof. You’re almost better off, sort of, losing. He thinks he can do whatever the hell he wants. He has done everything he can to hurt himself” Genson said.

R Kelly is facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, including against minors; allegations that he denies.

Mrs Ronke Shonde was found dead at her home in Egbeda on the morning of May 6, 2016.

The family nanny had arrived to prepare the children for school and found the house locked. Looking through the window, she found Ronke’s children crying because they couldn’t get their mummy to wake up.

When the nanny forced the door open, she found that Ronke’s body showed signs that she had suffered domestic violence. Her husband, Lekan, was nowhere in sight and his phones were switched off.

He had accused her of sleeping with one Kayode, the General Manager of a publishing company, before her death.

He committed the offence in May 2016.

The Lagos State High Court found him guilty of murder and sentenced him on Friday, March 8, 2019.

Delivering the judgement, Justice Josephine Oyefeso sentenced Lekan to death by hanging based on the conviction that the convict killed his wife, Ronke.
