A man was caught while trying to buy goods with fake bank alert from a store at Promaxx plaza Iyana-era bus stop, Ijanikin Lagos state.
This was made known by, Mrs Lawal (who is also a trader), on her Instagram page, as she narrated how the suspected fraudster was caught.
She revealed that the suspect bought goods worth over seventy thousand Naira, only to send a fake alert to the seller.

The Team of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a “parody of the 21st century” following his performance at Wednesday night’s town hall meeting in Abuja.
In a statement on Thursday, Atiku’s Special Assistant on Public Communications, Phrank Shuaibu, said the town hall meeting had exposed Buhari as a man unprepared to lead a modern nation.
According to him, the meeting made it obvious that the President possessed minimal capacity to hold the office of Head-of-State and also lacked knowledge of the goings on in his administration as well as the policy direction of his government.
The statement reads, “The town hall meeting neither added value nor content to public discuss.
“Clearly, it exposed the fact that the incumbent is neither prepared to rule for another four years, nor does he have a reason to seek a second term.
“The President’s responses to questions border more on classic dementia than reason. It was practically a display of wretched illiteracy.
“It is a shame that this is the best that a supposed ruling party can produce in the 21st century: a man lacking in vision, elementary knowledge and depth. Buhari is a joke, a parody of the 21st century.
“This man has shown that he is unfit to be an administrator of a WhatsApp group, let alone being President of Nigeria. He is not fit, neither should he be allowed to lead the over 200 million Nigerians in the 21st century.
“Of a truth, President Buhari is a man to be pitied because it is apparent he cannot help himself.
“It is now left for Nigerians who are desirous of charting a new course for their country to salvage it by voting Atiku Abubakar on February 16, 2019.”
The lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has caused a breakdown in the academic activities in both Federal and State Universities across the country.
Although there have been series of meetings between the Federal Government and the Union, the strike has still persisted. The latest update on the strike which the Union says is necessary to press on their demand is from the Minster of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.
The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has reportedly assured Nigerian students that the ongoing ASUU strike would soon be suspended.

On Tuesday afternoon, five armed terrorists launched an attack, killing 21 civilians at the DusitD2 hotel and office complex. But the terrorists were later killed during the attack or in the aftermath.
Commenting on the attack during a press briefing, Prawit Wongsuwan, who is also the Defence Minister told reporters it was ‘good enough’ that no Thai citizens had been killed in the horrific attack in Nairobi on Tuesday.

The DusitD2 hotel is said to be owned by Dusit Thani, a multinational chain which has 29 hotels and resorts in 18 countries.
The Benue state police command has arrested a man, Bunde Goja, for killing his ex-wife’s boyfriend in Benue state.
Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state Commissioner of Police, Omololu Bishi, said Goja who has three children with his ex wife, allegedly stormed the home of the woman, Kadoon Chia, in the night, forcefully gained entrance into their room and poured acid on her boyfriend, Terdoo Shito, after which he clubbed him to death with an axe wood.
The police boss said the ex wife reported the matter to the police. He added that investigations showed that Goja Bunde conspired with one Luper Ishu and others now at large to attack and kill the deceased.
When he spoke with newsmen, Goja confessed to the crime.
The police says he will be arraigned in court soon.

Zone 2 police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, on Thursday, shared a post on her Instagram page where she stated that Nigeria is not a place for homosexuals.
In her post, Dolapo pointed out that the Anti-gay law signed by ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has criminalized all gay activities in Nigeria.
She wrote,
If you are homosexually inclined, Nigeria ?? is not a place for you.
There is a law (Same sex Prohibition Act) here that criminalizes homosexual clubs, associations and organizations with penalties of up to 14yeats in jail.
So if you are homosexual in nature, leave the country or face prosecution.
But before you say does these matter?! Kindly note that anything against the law of the land is criminal and all crimes will be punished accordingly no matter how small you think it is.
The law says, “A person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies or organizations, directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offense and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years.”
Anyone convicted of entering into a same-sex marriage contract or civil union faces up to 14 years imprisonment.

The Anambra State Police Command on Thursday, January 17, paraded a teenager arrested for allegedly stealing a woman’s underwear for ritual purposes.
Spokesman for the Command SP Haruna Mohammed, said in Awka that the suspect, Chinonye Okorie,19, was apprehended on January, 11, at about 6:48am by Police detectives attached to Central Police Station (CPS).
Okorie, from Ogbaku in Mbaitolu LGA of Imo State allegedly stole a female pant washed and spread on a rope at No. 21 Umuna Street Odoakpu, Onitsha in Anambra State with intent to sale for it to yet to be identified persons at the rate of Eighty thousand Naira (#80,000) for alleged ritual purpose.
The pant was recovered from the suspect as exhibit and effort is being intensified to apprehend other fleeing accomplices in order to bring them to justice.
“The Command implores the general Public to be vigilant and report to the nearest Police Station any suspicious person or persons roaming around their vicinity for prompt action in order to avert this new trend of crime in the Society” said the PPRO.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office has secured the conviction of one Onovo Osita Malachy at the Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State.
The convict was arraigned on a one-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence. He was said to have fraudulently obtained the sum of $140,000 (One Hundred and Forty Thousand Dollars) from a foreigner through a love scam.
Upon arraignment, the defendant pleaded “guilty” to the charge.
The charge reads: “That you Onovo Osita Malachy on or about 4th day of July 2017 in Benin Edo State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, did by means of fraudulent trick to wit: love scam on a dating site obtained the sum of $140,000 only from Helen Wang and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 421 of the Criminal Code Act CAP C38 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria,2004.”
Based on his plea, the prosecuting counsel, Larry Aso Peters, prayed the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly.
The defence counsel, I. U. Uchechukwu pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as the defendant “has become remorseful”.
Justice A. A. Demi-Ajayi sentenced the defendant to 12 months imprisonment. The convict is also to forfeit all assets traced to him including an uncompleted building and a Toyota Camry 2007 model to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Controversial Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has reacted to President Buhari’s townhall appearance on National TV last night.

A Nigerian man identified as, Izuchukwu Daniel Eze, slumped and died while playing football with his friends in Dubai where he resides.
According to his friend, O.D Nwankwo who took to Facebook to mourn him, Eze was a barber and also a footballer in Dubai.
He was playing football with his friends when he slumped and died. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly, he died before medical help could get to him.

A Nigerian Man identified as Alhaji Usman Abdullah Gago passed away on Wednesday, January 16 – about a month after his wedding in Jos, Plateau State.
Usman and Hadiza got married on December 8,2018. He will be laid to rest today at his family house in Jos.
Alhaji Usman’s friends have taken to Facebook to mourn his death.
