Embattled American singer, R.Kelly, 52, who has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four alleged victims sat down with CBS This Morning‘s Gayle King for his first interview since his sexual assault charges. The interview is set to air Wednesday.
In a teaser for the interview that will air in full over two days starting Wednesday on “CBS This Morning,” Kelly said allegations he slept with underage girls are not true and a product of “people,” whom he did not identify specifically in the released clip, “going back to my past.”
“They’re going back to the past and they trying to add all of this stuff now to that, to make all of the stuff that’s going on now [feel] real to people,” he tells Gayle King.
At one point, Kelly points to straight to the camera and says it would be stupid of him to hold girls against their will.
“Use your common sense. … Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to; love me if you want. But just use your common sense,” he says, raising his voice. “How stupid would it be for me … with my crazy past and what I’ve been through?”
Kelly then appeared to begin crying as he said: “I didn’t do this stuff. This is not me. I’m fighting for my f****** life.”
Last month, the singer was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse a class 2 felony involving four alleged victims. If convicted, Kelly faces three to seven years in prison for each count.

A Thai multi-millionaire farm owner is promising £240,000 – as well as his entire estate – to the man who marries his 26-year-old virgin daughter.
Arnon Rodthong, 58, who owns a prosperous durian fruit farm in Chumphon province, southern Thailand, has taken the matter of his daughter Karnsita’s future into his own hands.
In his bizarre ‘offer’, Mr Rodthong highlights that his daughter, who helps him run the family business, speaks fluent English and Chinese and is a virgin. In some parts of Thailand, custom dictates that a man should pay a dowry for his future wife, but Mr Rodthong says he would waive this ‘fee’.

Ikimot Awojoju has been reunited with her family in the Oyingbo area of Lagos, five years after she was found wanting – according to reports, Ikimot lived with her guardian after her mother, Faidat Awojoju, passed away.
She reportedly went missing on her way back from school on July 23, 2014.

“Though the odds were against us, God was not,” the firefighters added. No firefighters were injured in the operation. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

A member of the church said on Sunday before the whole resurrection storm broke Pastor Bwanya spoke highly about Prophet Lukau saying she had seen him in a vision on a big stage and the two were preaching together in the vision.

However, Pastor Bwanya disputed these allegations saying the congregants misunderstood her.

Senator Dino Melaye was arraigned by the police over allegations bordering on attempted suicide, attempt to escape from custody and damage of police property.
Senator Melaye was arraigned before Justice Silvanus Oriji of a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Apo on a six-count charge.
The senator, however, denied the charge and was subsequently admitted to a N5m bail with two sureties in like sum stands.
The prosecuting counsel, Dr Alex Izinyon (SAN), had told the court that the defendant committed the alleged offences on April 24. He said Dino, while being conveyed in a police vehicle to Lokoja, forced his way out and escaped.
Izinyon further said that the defendant sat on the ground, holding a substance in one hand threatening to drink it to kill himself so that he can put the police officers in trouble.
He also said that the defendant broke the glass of the vehicle with his elbow and caused damage to police property.

An 80-year-old woman has enrolled for Primary One at Jesus is King Nursery and Primary School in Bugandalo Village, Ibulanku Sub-county in Bugweri District, with an aim of becoming a teacher.
Ms Maria Obonyo, a farmer, on Monday said after enduring a lot of ‘suffering and ridicule’, she decided to go to school to learn how to speak and write in English.
“I decided to enrol at the school because I lost all my relatives and there was nobody to take care of me. I am determined to study until I graduate from Makerere University as a teacher,” she told Daily Monitor. Should Ms Obonyo complete her school cycle, she will be 96 by then.
Ms Obonyo, however, says she currently faces a myriad of challenges, notably being unable to meet her school fees amounting to Shs35,000 per term.
“I also need a better structure to sleep in because I am currently staying with the village LC1 chairman, Mr Twaha Magero,” she says.
According to Mr Magero, Ms Obonyo’s decision to enrol for Primary One at such an age is an eye-opener to her agemates and those who had dropped out of school to resume.
The director of the school, Ms Stella Tayona, says Ms Obonyo enrolled at her school in Baby Class in 2015 and graduated from Top Class last year.
“She is a hardworking pupil who never misses classes and is social to fellow classmates,” Ms Tayona says, adding that the school currently foots most of her basic scholastic requirements although she is seeking help from well-wishers.
The school’s head teacher, Ms Olivia Kwagala, says Ms Obonyo has made the school proud by studying at such an age and is confident she will complete Primary Seven.
“She is also so eager to learn how to append her signature on a document,” Ms Kwagala adds.

Kidnappers have released the mother of Bordeaux and Nigeria winger Samuel Kalu after holding her for nearly a week, police in the country’s southeast said on Tuesday.
Ozuruonye Juliet Kalu was seized from her car on February 27 as she travelled to her home in Abia state. Reports said the kidnappers demanded some three million naira ($40,000, 35,000 euros) for her release.
But it was not known whether the money was paid, Abia state police spokesman Godfrey Ogbona told AFP.
“She was released around midnight (2300 GMT) of Monday and she has been reunited with her people,” he said.
“Circumstances surrounding her release has not been disclosed to me for now.
“But we are still investigating the incident in a bid towards ensuring that those who carried out the act are arrested and brought to book.”
Nigeria’s Sporting Life publication quoted the 21-year-old footballer as saying the kidnappers initially asked for three million naira in payment, then upped the demand to 15 million.
“We waited the whole night, we did not see her. The next morning they called again (saying) that they want more money, that the money was (being) given to another person,” he added.
“Now they are asking for the ransom of N15 million.”

The wife hurled insults at the older woman in Yoruba and her mother-in-law also replied her with words of her own. The wife even threatened to beat her mother-in-law at some point.

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has inaugurated his legal team to challenge the result of the presidential election.
A statement issued by Paul Ibe, his media aide, noted that the legal team would be headed by Dr. Livy Uzoukwu (SAN).
He said:
“I have just inaugurated my legal team and charged them with the responsibility of ensuring that our stolen mandate is retrieved.
I am encouraged by the presence of fearless men and women of the Bench. The judiciary, which had in the past discharged itself ably, is once again being called upon to deliver judgement on this matter that will be untainted by lucre and uncowed by the threat of immoral power.”
Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church has lampooned the presidential and National Assembly elections which he believes were rigged.
Speaking during the Sunday service at the Church headquarter in Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo mocked the irregularities that marred the exercise and also prayed that Nigeria would not experience another war as a result of the remaining elections.
Oyedepo said: “Other developed countries around the world had developed their mode of voting into a digitised method, but it’s a shame that in Nigeria, we still queue up to vote, and somebody would still be intimidated by thugs. With these, it’s a shame how politicians in this part of the world are proud of elections marred with rigging.
“In Covenant University, any student caught indulging in examination malpractice, is gone. It does not matter if his or her father is the head of United Nations or not.”
Oyedepo continued by praying against any form of bloodbath in any part of Nigeria as a result of the forthcoming governorship and House of Assembly elections:
“Every spirit of thuggery in Nigeria shall be silenced and every forces that would not let Nigeria rest shall be laid to rest and silenced forever.”
Few hours ago, the video of South African singer, Babes Wodumo being assaulted by her boyfriend, DJ Mampintsha was shared online and has since gone viral.
The video has had lots of people enraged on social media – the video appears to have been on live feed on Instagram by Babes Wodumo.

In a recent interview, Regina Askia spoke on why she dumped Nollywood to become a practicing nurse in America.
“There comes a point in everybody’s life when you begin to wonder what meaning you have made of your life. We have all been put in this world to make a difference to humanity and leave this world a little better than we met it. The way we choose to do this leaves us fulfilled or unfulfilled. Caring for someone as a nurse gives me the experience and skills to make a practical difference, and I love that.
I am a people’s person, a social person, and a nurse is socially oriented. Acting is also a way to make a difference but it was not enough, especially the way it is set up in Nigeria. No royalties, no job security, no investment tools for health plans and retirement. With acting, there is the necessity to maintain a front; a sort of image which you could use for endorsements, and so on. A level of “fakeness” is required. Now, where does that stop? It gets difficult to be true to who you really are as a person and having to tow the line of being politically correct, or keeping up appearances, or saying what you think will make everybody happy just to be liked. I cannot live like that.
I have always been an army of one. Like me or hate me, I am who I am. I love the freedom to be true to self. That does not mean that I will completely stop acting. However, you will now know me as a nurse; a skilled health care provider.”
