The opinion of a catholic priest regarding those who seek to get married but wait for approval from their pastors has stirred different reactions online.

The Nigerian Catholic priest who identifies as @Fada Angelo Chidi Unegbu tagged such people as immature.

The priest who shared this on his Facebook page believes that couples who intend to get married do what need their pastor’s approval to tie the knot.

Further advising does that rely on their pastor’s approval before getting married to enroll in a kindergarten.

The federal government has placed a ₦2 million bounty on Mrs Adachukwu Kukelu Okafor, who is accused of severely abusing her 10-year-old maid.

The woman allegedly burned the child’s private parts and body with a hot knife and hot iron.

The disturbing incident came to light when a video of the naked girl with burns all over her body went viral on social media.

Urgent action was taken by the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, who declared Mrs Adachukwu Kukelu Okafor a wanted person at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, February 12.

The suspect, believed to be a lawyer, has been evading authorities since the incident.

The minister disclosed that the suspect has changed her contact information but continues to post on social media with impunity.

The minister emphasized that it is within her power to intervene in matters concerning women and children across the nation.

She called on Nigerians to join in the search for the accused woman and hand her over to the police.

The Ministry of Women Affairs is offering a reward of to anyone who finds her, assists in her capture, or provides information leading to her arrest.

Lagos State Government Responds To Viral Video Of Traders Selling Items On The Rail Lines (WATCH)

The sight of a trader comfortably selling wares while a train passed by left many social media users in shock on Monday, February 12.

In reaction to the video, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed that the traders have been cleared from the rail lines.

Kano State Hisbah Corps has reportedly arrested popular TikToker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, on allegations of immorality.

This comes after Kunya’s previous arrest by the police last January while trying to reserve hotel rooms for guests attending her birthday celebration from various locations.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the arrest was prompted by complaints from religious leaders that Kunya “uses vulgar language and corrupts the morals of the society in her videos.”

In November 2023, Kano Hisbah announced plans to facilitate marriages for TikTokers in the state, including Kunya. However, the wedding plans have not been executed.

In a new development, Aliyu Usman, chairman of Operation ‘Kai da badala’ and Officer-in-charge of Surveillance, confirmed to Daily Trust on Tuesday, February 13, that Kunya has been arrested again.

“She was arrested yesterday (Monday) late evening at her residence located at Tinshama area. We spent about three hours waiting for her before she finally showed up and we picked her up,” he said.

“She is being charged with immoral acts which she is widely known for. There is someone who every day comes around to pick her around 10pm and will return her by 12 midnight or 1am.”

He further revealed that Kunya will be arraigned before a Sharia Court sitting at PRP on Tuesday.

This time around, Burna Boy outrightly called Davido a ‘pussy’ amid a heated dispute with another X user who accused him of hating on Davido despite how the DMW boss supported him in the early days of his career.

According to the X user, the main reason he dislikes Burna Boy is because of how he constantly disrespects Davido, even though they were close pals years back.

He then proceeded to share screenshots of old tweets of Davido and Burna Boy supporting and encouraging each other on the microblogging platform.

In one of the tweets shared in 2018, Burna Boy called Davido his ‘brother’ while hailing him for shutting down a show in England.

Barely a week following the tragic demise of Access Bank CEO Herbert Wigwe, internet users have unearthed a video of his recently completed mansion in the Ikoyi area of Lagos state.

Reports indicate that the private residence, meticulously built by leading construction firm Craneburg, underwent years of construction and was opened late last year.

Regrettably, Herbert didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy his new house, as he tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash on Friday night, February 9, along with his wife, son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the Group Chairman of the Nigerian Export Group.

The trending video showcased the stunning mansion which has an extraordinary structure reminiscent of Hollywood aesthetics. The multi-billion naira edifice is jaw-dropping and would leave a mark on your mind.

Beyond the standard rooms, living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms, the residence boasts a gym, clinic, underground parking lot, swimming pool, and various other amenities.

The interior is adorned with exquisite artworks, elegantly decorated, and showcases impressive designs.

Sadly, the late Herbert Wigwe didn’t enjoy his dream home for up to a year before he passed away in a gruesome way last weekend. He is survived by his three other kids.

Nigerian comedian AY Makun has made a public appeal to Alex Iwobi’s detractors, emphasizing the negative effects of cyberbullying.

Recall that the football player for the Super Eagles had to delete his Instagram account as a result of persistent abuse from Nigerian fans.

AY Makun responded by posting pictures of Alex Iwobi’s contribution to the Super Eagles’ accomplishment in earning a spot in the African Cup of Nations and a description of the negative effects of cyberbullying.

He lamented the treatment of Alex Iwobi by Nigerians and asked why people were confused about why other Nigerian international players refused to play for their country.

The comedian asked Nigerians to give the football player love instead of criticism.

He wrote;

“Anyone can become a victim of cyberbullying. Malicious information posted on the Internet can spread far and wide at an instant, and it is always difficult to be deleted completely. Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, also known as Rude Boy, has shared screenshots of his chat with a lady who insulted him for failing to support her again.

The musician lamented the state of the nation on his Instagram story, telling the story of a stranger who he has been helping out and is now insulting him for failing to continue.

Paul said she called him a sinner, wished him dead, and reminded him that he had previously been a poor man.

He went on to say that her message had hurt him and that he needed to turn up the volume on his wickedness.

He wrote: “The situation in the country is getting worse, even someone I have never met but constantly helping these person, omoh!! the person just insulted me today, called me a wicked person that I will die and leave all

Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti has declared that even if his wife Yetunde Kuti cheats on him, he won’t leave her.

The Nigerian couple recently made an appearance on TVC’s Valentine-themed episode of “Your View,” an entertainment and lifestyle series, as special guests.

Seun clarified that his reasoning is based on the notion that an affair won’t end their marriage.

Additionally, his wife stated that she will never file for divorce from him, even if he cheats, and that she won’t contemplate leaving him for anything.

She said, “There is nothing my husband is going to do that would make me leave him. Even if he cheats on me I won’t leave him. I am not going to leave my husband because he cheated on me. Nah, that can’t happen.”

“We don’t believe in cheating. What is cheating? Love is not ownership,” Seun added.

The wife of Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti, Yetunde Kuti, has revealed what her family told her when she decided to be married.

She stated in a video broadcast by TVC Entertainment that her family had told her that if she married Seun Kuti, her life would end and she would become just one of his 35 wives.

She went on to say that her family’s opinion of her husband, Seun Kuti, was that way because of how many wives his father, Fela Kuti had married.

In her words; “I have always had the idea of not wanting to be married, and my family was expecting me not to get married, especially to Seun. I grew up with people whose marriages were not stable and looked at it from their perspective, and I realised that everybody has their own reasons why their marriages didn’t work, and people can’t just continue like that.

Popular Nollywood actor, Femi Durojaiye, has declared that he would have cherished taking his ex-wife out on Valentine’s Day.

The actor revealed this in an interview with The Punch, saying that he would be too busy at work to observe the “lovers’ day.”

In addition, Durojaiye stated that he still harbours feelings for his ex-wife, with whom he was acquainted for about twenty years before to their marriage.

He claims that they fell in love during their adolescent years, when she was 16 and he was 17, and the only reason they were divorced was because their marriage did not last.

In his words; “I am not sure yet, because of work. However, if I have to take anyone out on Valentine’s Day, it would be her [ex-wife].

Love is the most powerful force on earth. Some people have given up on love, marriage and relationships. But, that is so wrong. Love is still a beautiful thing and the most important thing God created. I envy anyone who is in love.

I still love my ex-wife, because she was my friend for about 18 years before we got married. We were teenage lovers. She was 16 and I was 17. Our divorce was not acrimonious. It just did not work out anymore, so we went our separate ways. We have children between us and we are friends. If I don’t tell you that we are divorced, you won’t ever know when you see her around me, because we were best friends.”

Durojaiye went on to advise single people to marry someone they love and their decision should not be based on the person being religious.

“Never marry anybody for any other reason than for the fact that you love the person. Don’t marry because she is a church girl, or because he is a mosque man. If you make the mistake of marrying the wrong person, eight times out of 10, that marriage will not work. Love is so important,” he said.

Businessman set to sack his worker who failed to appreciate salary increase for months

A well-known businessman who identifies as KAA is set to sack one of his staff who failed to acknowledge a salary increment for months.

Sharing via his Facebook page, he revealed that he had chosen to increase all his staff’s salary by doubling it because of the high cost of fuel.

This particular employee who earned 100k started receiving 200k for the next four months but failed to appreciate or acknowledge it.

His boss however decided to return his salary to the normal amount, which caused the employee to finally speak up.

The post read;

“I have an employee whose monthly salary was N100,000. When the fuel pump price increased to N630 per liter, I quietly increased all my employee’s salaries and this particular guy’s salary was increased to N200,000.

He received this 200k for months without saying anything. Last month I decided to revert back to his old salary to know what he would do. Today he mustered the courage to send me the message below, feeling entitled to what’s not his own. Now his job hangs in the balance.”

 

The post has generated different reactions from internet users, while some blamed both parties for the situation, others noted that the employee is ungrateful.
