Social media was set abuzz earlier today after it was revealed that the acclaimed sold out concert by Nigerian singer, Davido was not actually sold out but ‘nearly’ was.
All the while, the singer had kept mum to the reports until moments ago he took to his page to share something that can be considered a receipt to prove that he indeed sold out the arena.
A mail was sent to the management of the 02 Arena asking to confirm if indeed the singer’s event was sold out and in response, the management stated briefly and concisely that the event was sold out.
Davido then shared the screenshot of this mail on his page as he says ‘our people like amebo’ before going on to state his next agenda of performing in the United States.
He wrote alongside the screenshot,

A 25-year-old Nigerian man, Prince Jerry, took his own life on Monday, January 28 2019, by jumping under a train in Tortona, Genoa, Italy after his request for a residency permit for humanitarian reasons was rejected, Monsignor Giacomo Martino, the head of association Migrants, said on Thursday.
Martino, who is in charge of the association that helps migrants in the port-city, made the announcement in a chat group with his parishioners. The message was subsequently shared on social media Wednesday night and published by local newspapers on Thursday.
Jerry’s funeral will be held Friday morning, at the Chiesa dell’Annunziata in Genoa.
Meanwhile some of Jerry’s friends have taken to Facebook to mourn him.

A married South African woman, Sophie took to Facebook to share the sad story of how her 4-year-old son was killed by armed robbers on Monday, January 20th.

Eric Many Entertainment has called out former record label act, Runtown for lying about winning lawsuit slammed against him by his former label.
Eric Many in a new press release said that the case with Runtown is still ongoing and the singer has not been granted victory in court.
Johnson Adumike speaking for Eric Many said the news pushed by the label’s former artiste on social media is a lie ” Runtown did not win the case. He has not even filed a defence.”
A part of the statement reads as follows;
“It has come to the knowledge of Ericmany Limited that our artiste, Douglas Jack Agu, alias ‘Runtown’, has taken to the social media, especially twitter and Instagram, celebrating a supposed ‘victory’ in our case in Court. Runtown is telling lies.
“Runtown did not win the case. He has not even filed a defence. His lawyers only challenged the jurisdiction of the Court, claiming that the case is supposed to go for arbitration. Ericmany challenged the right of Runtown’s lawyer to appear in the case, since the same lawyer prepared the Recording Contract which Runtown is breaching.”
“On 4th December, 2018, the Court ruled that Runtown’s lawyer can appear. But the Court dismissed Runtown’s application challenging its jurisdiction. It held that a breach of the contract is not for arbitration. The Court also held that Runtown should maintain the status quo. This means that Runtown should stop operations until the case is over.”

Rapper and mother of one, Cardi B is now back with her rapper beau, Offset after he met the conditions she set for a reunion.
According to reports, the both of them are currently under the same roof in their Atlanta home – this will be the first time Cardi B would be visiting the house since their break up.

A 100-level student of the department of English Language in the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has been disgraced and handed over to the police after the boxers belonging to his classmate was found tied with charms inside his wardrobe in the school hostel on Monday January 28th.
According to students in the school, the boxers belonged to the representative of Pace Setters Hall of Residence Comrade Akinola Ayomide, popularly known as Mayegun. The underpants were found with Tunde, but popularly known as Zacchaeus
The students claim Zacchaeus is an internet fraudster, also referred to as yahoo yahoo, due to his questionable lifestyle.
Zacchaeus according to his classmates had boasted that he would buy a car before the year ends. There have been cases of missing boxes prior to when he was apprehended but the students had always found the missing boxers.
“We didn’t trust Zaccheus from the beginning. Lately, he has been singing around that he will purchase a car before the end of this year. One of us, who kept his piano in the wardrobe, wanted to take it out when he, unfortunately, saw the calabash hidden inside the wardrobe. On checking it, he found the male underpants of Mayegun. He was able to recognise it because the male underpant has a hole. Mayegun had complained that the underpant had loosened and become too big for him before it disappeared. He called on us and we saw the boxer along with schnapps and other fetish items wrapped around it. When we searched the wardrobe further, we discovered two other underwear.
“This provoked other residents of the hostel who resorted to demonstration. The angry students descended on Zacchaeus and almost beat him to a pulp. Zacchaeus was on the verge of being set ablaze when he was rescued by the porters in the residence, who immediately got in touch with the Director of Students’ Affairs, who in turn, called the security personnel. The Directorate of Students’Affairs, the security personnel, and student representative bodies immediately rushed, to the scene to control the situation” a student of the school told The Nation
The victim who was beyond shock, said
“I went to town yesterday and on my way back, I saw one of my friends who pointedly told me: ‘You have been used’. I couldn’t understand this until I was taken to the room of Zacchaeus where I saw my underwear in a kind of calabash along with schnapps and some fetish items wrapped around it. I could hardly wait for Zacchaeus’ arrival and I asked him how my underwear got to his wardrobe along with those charms. He tried to escape, but we chased and grabbed him”
The Director of Student Affairs in the school, Charles Egunjobi, described the incidence as ‘unbelievable and unexpected’, promising that management would treat the matter with dispatch.
“This is really unusual of the school. The management has issued a directive that the guy should be handed over to the police. As you can see, the police from the Ikere-Ekiti Area Command are here. Next time, when students are involved in a situation like this, I expect them find a lasting solution through non-violent means. The students aren’t supposed to make a noise or take laws into their hands,” Egunjobi said
A Nigerian man identified as Emmanuel Rowland on Facebook has expressed shock after finding out that his parents hid his twin brother from him from birth.
According to Emmanuel Rowland who thought he was an only child, his father took his twin brother from him after he separated from his wife.

American Rapper, Lil Wayne has sued his former lawyer of over 13 years, for 20 million Dollar, saying the lawyer hit him with some hefty fees over the years.
Wayne is suing Ronald Sweeney, who repped him from 2005 through Sept. 2018 because he says the attorney was charging some hefty fees.
However, it seems the reason why Wayne gave his ex-lawyer the boot is due to some hefty fees that reportedly amount to $20M.
In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Wayne says Sweeney charged him 10 percent for every deal he helped close. The problem is Wayne claims Sweeney failed to inform him the industry standard is a mere 5 percent.
According to the docs, Sweeney got pretty greedy proposing he get an additional 10 percent of all profits from Wayne’s label, Young Moneybut Wayne says that was swiftly shot down.
Wayne claimed that Sweeney even hired another law firm to help in the litigation between Wayne and Cash Money over Tha Carter V deal. Weezy said that the firm received 23% of the Cash Money settlement and an additional 15% of the settlement money from the Universal Music Group settlement. Weezy claimed that those numbers were on top of the Sweeney’s 10%.
Following the report that music station, Sound City TV stated that Davido ‘nearly’ sold out the 02 arena in London for his concert, UK media, The Guardian have also said the same thing.
In a recent article where they review the singer’s event, they wrote in part “considering the anticipation attached to this gig, which has been talked up as a significant event for Davido – he’s nearly sold out the O2, a considerable leap toward the mainstream” which proves indeed that the singer didn’t actually sell out the whole 20,000 capacity as he claimed he did.
Davido had before the event, revealed on his Instagram that he’d sold out the arena for his concert and reports began making the rounds of how the singer joined the leagues of other a-list acts who had achieved the same feat.
Popular gospel musician, Funmi Aragbaye and National President of the Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria, has lost her husband, Elder Bola Aragbaye.
Elder Aragbaye died at about 2:30pm on Wednesday January 30th aged 77, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
During his lifetime, he worked at the Nigerian Tribune as a journalist under the supervision of ex-Governor of Lagos State Lateef Jakande, after which he left in 1967 to join The Sketch Press Limited, where he rose to become Editor.
He was appointed Chief Press Secretary to the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, a former Governor of Ondo State, in 1981. He clocked 77 on November 10, 2018, and is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and other family members.
Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey has been accused by his wife, Sarah Bassey of sleeping while she stays awake taking care of their children at night.
Sarah Bassey shared a photo on her Instagram page where a woman was busy breastfeeding her baby in the night but her husband was fast asleep.
The mother of two used the opportunity to tell her husband that the photo she shared explains what she goes through only for her husband to ask her what makes her frown in the morning.
