“A lot of women want to be brides but don’t want to be wives” – Jimmy Odukoya
Popular clergyman, Jimmy Odukoya has addressed the belief held by some women that wives shouldn’t be there for their husbands in marriage.
During a recent sermon session at his church, he made the comment to his congregation as he highlighted the duties of a wife.

According to Jimmy Odukoya, many women, just want to be brides—not wives—in their marriages. He cited the Bible as proof that a woman’s role is to provide for her husband, not to be a dependant.
Jimmy Odukoya said:
“The woman was created to be a helper and not a dependent, and you cannot help anybody if you are not equipped yourself. If he is bringing the table, you should bring the chair. If he is bringing the seed, you are telling him where to plant it in the soil. A lot of women want to be brides but do not want to be wives.”
See some reactions to the sermon below.
Kenny commented; “Reason why some men are finding it difficult to marry because marriage this days is becoming like a man adopting an adult lady to take care of her 🤷🏽”
Ebere wrote; “The respect that comes with having your own money is unbeatable, you will be able to live life on your own terms!!! Being independent is sexy”
King Ragner commented; “Any woman who doesn’t work but strictly stays home and take good care of the kids and home is never a liability.”

“Valentine’s Day should also be for your domestic workers” – Chinko Ekun
Nigerian musician, Chinko Ekun has stated that Valentine’s Day ought to encompass more than just romantic relationships between couples.
The “Able God” crooner stated in an interview with Saturday Beats that Valentine’s Day, which is typically observed only by those in romantic relationships, should actually be used to express love to one’s parents, siblings, and even coworkers.

Chinko Ekun disclosed that he typically receives gifts on Valentine’s Day, regardless of the size, from his security guard and family members.
He said; “Valentine’s Day should not be restricted to only those in love. During Valentine, I usually get gifts for my friends, my lawyer, my mother, and my sister. Even those around me, such as my security guy, get something from me on Valentine’s Day, no matter how small. I usually go out on dates for Valentine’s Day, but most times, I am busy with shows.”
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, he also discussed his recently released tune, “Wait,” which aims to emphasise the significance of gaining clarity in relationships.
In his words; “I released a new song in the course of the week, featuring Ozed. The song asks a lady what she wants from the relationship; whether is it love, money or attention. That is because clarity is one of the things people like to shy away from. But, I think that in any relationship, clarity is needed at some point.”
The former YBNL star revealed that although he was scheduled to play at a Valentine’s Day party, he had no intentions to go out on Valentine’s Day.
“Truth hurts, so I’ve learnt not to disclose everything” – Monalisa Stephen
Controversial Nollywood actress, Monalisa Stephen, has disclosed that she has become a little more polite and less confrontational.
The influencer claimed to be a living example of speaking her mind, but many believe that she is deliberately stirring up controversy to gain attention.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Monalisa stated that, while she regrets her previous remarks, she does not like being in the press for the wrong reasons.
The model highlighted that she has learned that not every piece of information should be made public since people react to candid comments or discoveries as though they have been hit with a bullet.
She said;
“I never thought that living my truth could be controversial. I believe in saying things the way I see it. I am a realist, and I don’t like to deceive myself. It is not my intention to be in the news for the wrong reasons, So far I am saying my truth, I have no regrets.
The lessons I have learnt is that a lot of people shy away from the truth. When one says the truth, it hits them like a bullet. Such people might not have the emotional capacity to control their feelings. Everybody is expected to have their own opinions. However, I have learnt to be a bit courteous, and know that it’s not all information one should release to the public.”

Davido missing as Sophia Momodu shares names of people who came to her aide when Imade was hospitalized
Sophia Momodu, the first baby mama of popular Nigerian singer Davido, has recounted how her daughter Imade Adeleke fell sick in the middle of the night and was hospitalized a year ago.
Taking to her Snapchat, she shared a video of her daughter at the hospital and mentioned the names of people who came to her aid at a moment’s notice.

She explained that the incident changed her mentality as a single parent, as she realized then that it takes a village to raise a child.
However, netizens couldn’t help but notice that her child’s father, Davido, wasn’t mentioned, suggesting that he didn’t show up when their daughter fell ill.

The mother of one wrote,
“1 year ago today, my whole world felt like it was crumbling around me. My child was so sick that at 1 am, she needed to be rushed to the hospital. In my panicked state, I called Savo. She was recording Stamina that night, yet she showed up in less than 10 minutes and rushed us to the hospital. She just kept saying, ‘Breathe, I’m here.. Imade is fine. You’re not alone.’ That day, I realized just how powerful my support system was. Rima showed up in 5 minutes, DSF showed up 30 minutes after we got to the hospital, followed by Kanayo, then my family. The hospital was packed.
This night changed my mentality as a single parent forever. Two things: 1, it truly takes a village. God doesn’t play about his own.”

“I’ve never cheated on my partner” – Shallipopi reveals
Popular Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama, also known as Shallipopi, has declared that he has never cheated on a spouse, either in the past or present.
The ‘Elon Musk’ hitmaker made this revelation in a recent podcast conversation with British-Nigerian media personality Madame Joyce.

Shallipopi claimed that he does not have a preference for dating multiple women because he cannot double date after entering a committed relationship.
Additionally, he claimed that since he lacks the skills necessary to cheat covertly, it will be easy for his partner to find out if he is meeting someone else.
Shallipopi said:
“I have never been in a polygamous relationship. I stick to one woman if I am in a relationship. I can’t double date because you can get exposed easily. If you have a girlfriend, you love your girlfriend, and you cheat, you will definitely be caught.
I don’t cheat because I will be caught. It’s not as if I’m easily caught. You can act smart and cheat, but you know that you are lying to yourself. I have never cheated before. You can never catch me cheating. I have never done it.”
“I lost weight due to dr.ug addiction” – Timaya
Popular dancehall singer, Timaya has disclosed that he spent years fighting and trying to overcome a heroin addiction.
Timaya said that he was first exposed to drugs during the COVID-19 lockdown and that he used them so frequently that he lost weight as a result of not eating.

The ‘Dem Mama’ singer claimed in a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM that the first time he used an illicit substance, he ended up losing all of the money in his pocket.
Timaya said; “I am not a saint. I have done drugs. Breaking off from drugs was a hell, it was a tough fight. I got introduced to drugs during the COVID-19 lockdown, 2020.
Everybody was home and there are those young guys in my house who are always so happy. And I was like, ‘Bro, how are you guys happier than me, I am the boss I got money? What are you guys on?’ And they told me that they got molly.
When I took it, I did not understand myself. I was so happy that I dashed all the money in my pocket. So I wanted to just keep feeling like that. That was how I lost a lot of weight. I was not eating, I was just happy? How you go just want dey happy?
You are supposed to first of all, be happy naturally. But when you now need substance to make you happy, it replaces the natural happiness.
So you have to be buying happiness. When I said I was taking molly, I was taking like three pills everyday and it felt like medication [laughs].”
