Daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, DJ Cuppy tweeted lyrics from singer Teni’s song, “Case” and Nigerians on Twitter were not necessarily feeling her sing-along.
“My papa no be Dangote or Adeleke… but we go dey okay!” Cuppy wrote.
But Nigerians felt that with a father like hers, she isn’t in the calibre of those Teni the entertainer was referring to in her song.
A student of University of Calabar, Unical, who reportedly stole his sponsor’s N25m jewelry has been apprehended and arrested by the police.
According to Philip Obin who shared the news on Twitter, the Unical student was saved from dropping out of school by an 85yr old woman.
The student would go on to steal the woman’s jewelries which she has been keeping since the year 1961.

An Islamic cleric also known as Alfa, Abdulsalam Salaudeen was caught on camera defiling five-year-old girl who was under his care in Lagos state.
The Lagos state police command arrested the 43 year old cleric, after he was caught on camera having anal sex with the young girl that he was supposed to be teaching Islamic studies.
A statement released by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, says the heinous act was reported to the command by a good samaritan who secretly recorded the Alfa abusing the child.
The video was presented to the state Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi, who after watching the horrific video, directed the command’s undercover operatives attached to the State Intelligence Bureau to immediately arrest the culprit and hand him over to the Gender Section for detailed investigation.
The operatives went in search of the Alfa and arrested him near a mosque in the Igando area of the state.
He was taken from there to the Gender Unit, where the Officer-in-Charge, ASP (Mrs) Abimbola Williams, confronted him with the video of him defiling the child.
On seeing himself captured like an actor in a movie, the suspect broke down in tears and owned up to the crime. He told the investigators that he resides at 16, Awoyemi Street, Igando Road, Ikotun, Lagos state.
The case will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
The CP, while commending the courageous act of the good Nigerian, has warned parents and guardians to keep constant watch over their children and wards. Imohimi stressed that nobody should be trusted and that parents should endeavor to be friends with their children and let them be free to share things with you.
A father of three, Mr Samuel Sunday, allegedly poisoned his three children with sniper.
His arrest was announced by Mr Aminu Saleh, Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa. According to NAN, The police commissioner told newsmen at the crime scene in Bayelsa that two of the children died after drinking sniper, while the third one survived.
The surviving son told newsmen that their father and his brother gave them the sniper to drink.
“Our father and his brother tied three of us and gave us sniper to drink.
“I was told that my brothers are dead, and that I am the only one that survived,” the boy said in tears on his hospital bed.
The Police said that the suspect and his brother, Aya Preye, were being charged for the murder of the two children.
He identified the deceased boys as Miracle (12) and God’s time (10).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that Sunday and his wife had divorced but the three children were living with their grandmother before the incident occurred.
The police commissioner said that the suspect had alleged that his sons were wizards who were responsible for his sickness.
Dr Moses Emeka of Hillem Medical Centre, who attended to the only survivor, said the boy was brought to the hospital unconscious by an NDLEA official.
The doctor confirmed that the survivor was responding to treatment and would soon recover.

A man was yesterday caught in with female pants, bra and soaked sanitary pad, and based on the recent trend he has been suspected of being a ritualist.
The man was apprehended while picking female undies and soaked sanitary pads in Akure, Ondo state.
This was made known by a Twitter user with the handle @YemieFASH, who said the man was apprehended by some motorcycle riders who noticed his suspicious moves

A woman who was doused in acid by her father when she was just two-months-old has shared an inspiring new year message.
Anmol Rodrigous was curled up in her mother’s lap when her father poured a can of acid on them, killing her mother, and disfiguring newborn- Anmol.
At 23, Anmol now runs her own survivor foundation. She has not only overcome the physical and emotional pain but has also become an inspiration to many women like her.
Anmol, which means priceless in Hindi, claims to be the happiest girl in the world. She lives alone in Mumbai, India, where she arranges funds for her ongoing reconstructive surgeries and runs an NGO Acid Survivor Sahas Foundation, through which she has helped 20 such women getting employment and organised a lavish wedding for a friend.
In her words;
I love my life as it is. Not even once have I felt that I am different. This could also be because I only remember seeing myself with one eye and wrinkled, burnt skin.
I have very happily accepted myself and this has given me hopes and confidence to keep moving in life.
My whole life was spent at an orphanage in Mumbai. I am told that I was only two months old when my father had attacked my mother and myself with acid.
She left the orphanage 2 years ago when she finished from college. She now makes £117 a month from giving her ideas to make creative sets for the shows and saves some of her money for her NGO.
The young girl says she loves to dress up and wishes to become a model. She has already been offered model assignments by two designers to promote their jewellery on Instagram.
Sharing an inspiring message for others in her condition, she said:

Following the inability of the Federal Government to urgently transmit the bill on the new national minimum wage to the National Assembly, the Nigeria Labour Congress has set January 8th as the date for the commencement of an indefinite nationwide strike.
NLC President Comrade Ayuba Wabba said the strike would be inevitable if nothing happened before the set date. He appealed to workers across the nation to support the action to succeed in the interest of their social and economic prosperity.
Comrade Wabba called on Federal Government to urgently transmit the bill on the new national minimum wage to the National Assembly for a speedy passage.
He said:
“It is unfortunate that the Federal Government is yet to transmit to the National Assembly an executive bill for the enactment of N30,000 as the new national minimum wage. Government’s dilly-dallying on the issue has strained Government-Labour relations with a potential for a major national strike which could just be days away.
I want to appeal to the government to do the needful by urgently transmitting the bill on the new national minimum wage to the National Assembly. We also would like to use this same opportunity to urge workers to fully mobilise for a prolonged national strike and enforce their right.”
He added that the NLC leadership is similarly committed to social protection for workers.
“The new year presents great opportunities for workers, pensioners, civil society allies and their friends and families to put their numbers to good use. This is by voting out, not on the basis of tribe or religion but purely policy, any candidate that cannot serve their interest.
In the year that is ahead of us, the NLC remains unequivocally committed to the national and workers’ goals which include the campaign for industrialisation, against selective enforcement of “No Work, No Pay” policy of government, among others,” he said.
Two young men have been arrested with about 10 female underwear in Delta state – the incident is said to have happened in Umutu, Ukwuani local government area of the state.
It was gathered from sources that the last one they pulled – was from a young girl (pictured standing with them).
The suspects were paraded in public before they were handed over to the local security operatives in the area.

A Lagos-based DJ, Seun Omogaji aka Xgee, has allegedly taken his own life, some moments after leaving a note on his Instagram page.
According to a report, the DJ drank “Sniper” a deadly insecticide that takes hazardous effect on the human body almost immediately after consumption.
In the post made few hours ago on his page, the deceased wrote,

The Police authorities have vowed to arrest Dino Melaye before making any attempt to leave his residence.
The Police have subsequently deployed over 50 additional policemen around Melaye’s residence located on 11, Sangha Street, Off Mississippi, Maitama, FCT.
Findings indicate that the Police might storm the building and forcefully arrest the lawmaker who had holed up in the house since last Friday, The Punch reports.
The Police said the lawmaker representing Kogi West at the National Assembly was wanted for the alleged shooting of one Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, attached to 37 Police Mobile Force while on stop-and-search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.
The operatives had, last Saturday, cut off power supply to Melaye’s mansion as part of strategies to make him uncomfortable so that he could surrender for arrest, but the senator has so far remained adamant.
The Force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, stated that Melaye had repeatedly spurned several invitations asking him to report for investigation into the case of attempted culpable homicide.
He noted that the operatives would not leave the lawmaker’s residence without arresting him.

The Nigerian Army has declared wanted Dr. Perry Brimah, a Nigerian in Diaspora for allegedly launching a global fundraising scheme aimed at generating money to provide food for troops in the North East.
In a statement released this morning, the Army says the fundraising is fraudulent as the Nigerian soldiers sent to prosecute the war against Boko Haram in the North East, do not lack food nor logistics. The Army says it is working with INTERPOL to also declare him wanted.

Embattled Nigerian lawmaker Senator Dino Melaye who has been tweeting from his hiding place, has said he is not hiding out of fear, but only applying wisdom.
Dino Melaye referenced a part of Bible where a certain Prophet Elijah had to run and hide from King Ahab despite being one of the most courageous prophets at the time.
He referred to himself as the Modern Elijah that needs to hide, not out of fear, but out of wisdom.

A three-man drug syndicate have been arrested by men of the Ikoyi Prison in Lagos for attempting to sell marijuana to inmates of the prison.
According to Punch, the suspects comprising of a 22-year-old man identified as Ikuomola Abolade; Sodeeq Yunusa, who is an inmate standing trial for alleged robbery, and an unidentified person, who is presently at large, were apprehended while trying to smuggle the banned substance into the prison on Sunday December 30th 2018.
It was gathered that the suspects were arrested through a 10-year-old boy, who is part of the Intelligence and Monitoring Committee comprising selected officials of the prison, their wives, the drug unit and the police, which was set up to monitor the activities of intruders in the prison facility.
The 10-year-old boy saw the suspects throwing the banned substances into the prison premises and alerted his parents, but before his father could alert his colleagues, the suspects had boarded a tricycle. The officials gave them a hot chase and caught up with them at Obalende, but the unidentified persons escaped.
However, the CCTV installed in the prison caught the face of the inmate, Yunusa, picking up the banned substance.
Abolade, according to a source, is presently in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, pending completion of the investigation.
The Lagos State Controller of Prisons, Tunde Ladipo, who confirmed the incident, said the prison authorities would ensure that the suspects did not escape justice so as to serve as a deterrent to others.
