A man had to spend his New Year in police custody after he was arrested for stealing in Delta.
It was gathered that the suspect connived with two staff working at a fast food restaurant in Sapele area of the state, to steal chicken, turkey and chicken wings.
According to reports, the suspect stole almost two cartons of chicken, 12 turkeys and about 10 chicken wings before he was nabbed.
It was gathered that the suspect who reportedly works in the baking section of the fast food joint, stole the items in the morning on Monday, December 31, and allegedly hid the loots in Palm kernel.
He was arrested when he came back to the fast food joint to collect the stolen items later in the evening after the director told him to show him what he was carrying.
The suspect was immediately arrested and taken into custody by the police.

I had to involve her parents and it was by force before she apologized.
She got pregnant and 9 months later she was delivered of our first son.
2 weeks later, my attention was drawn to constant beeping on her phone and when I checked, my supposed wife was discussing with another of her ex about how tight and intact her vagina was cos she gave birth through CS. And the guy used to be jealous cos he enjoyed the sex they had as she was always tight and shits.
I was devastated. I drew her attention to it and she denied feigning ignorance. It was when I showed her screenshots that she accepted and asked me to forget about it, that what has happened has happened.
She would never say sorry. So called her elder brother and he begged me and begged her to apologize, still she won’t.
I reported to the mother. This didn’t help matters. The aunts numbering about 4 had to beg on her behalf. I let it slide.
Things got worse and it came to a point where she would not cook. Even times when I return home from long journeys, I most times will have to go into the kitchen to sort myself.
Mum got sick and I asked that she come to us so that we can go to bigger hospital for proper check up and hell was let loose.
She stopped cooking and would only cook whenever she desires.
Time past and my life became almost miserable.
I would close from the office and won’t be able to go home. I would stroll into a beer parlour and while away time till maybe 10pm and would sneak out very early even before she wakes up.
Earlier in 2016, I had empowered her with 1.2 million to start a business and one dime I didn’t see as return on investment with her citing low patronage as the reason for the collapse of the business.
It was until the elder brother who was staying with us asked her for money and she refused that the dude disclosed that she made about 2.6 million from sales of items and services she rendered in the shop she denied making nothing from. She could not deny this fact but for my son I let it slide.
My wife would bring her female friend into the home and this lady even when she was engaged to a guy still go out to sleep with other guys. I asked her to stop been friends with her and she blatantly refused. She would go ahead to invite the lady into my home and rain insults on me because I don’t want them together.
This final one was the calls she was making with her ex most times when I was away in the office. I noticed and she couldn’t deny it. I later learnt that her cheat of a friend was the middle person that delivers messages to my wife whenever I was around.
I can’t take it anymore.
I don’t wanna die before my time.
I can’t eat in my house anymore as she threatened to poison me and nothing will happen. This was let out in a heat of a moment while we were exchanging words.

The ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is likely to be called off soon.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, gave the hint in Onitsha, Anambra State, while speaking to reporters.
Ngige revealed that funds had been provided to meet most of the demands of the union.
He said the Federal Government would make necessary efforts to ensure that the strike comes to an end this January.
According to Ngige, the issues that made ASUU to embark on strike were based on agreement which the union entered into with the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, which the administration failed to implement before President Muhammadu Buhari took over power.
According to the minister, the Buhari administration is labour-friendly and is always concerned about the welfare of the nation’s workforce.
Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka has endorsed president Muhammadu Buhari’s second term reelection bid.
This is as the priest also said he foresee the country facing more serious economic challenge this year.
Mbaka made the endorsement and prediction in his new year message in his annual 31st cross over night.
He said: “Among all the Presidential aspirants, Buhari stands in best position in winning the presidential election.”

On Enugu state government, Fr Mbaka praised Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his good work in Enugu state, saying that since the inception of democracy Enugu State had not got a good leader like Ugwuanyi.
On the area of security, Mbaka said that Enugu state has been the pace setter of peace, and admonished the people of the state to vote for him in other to finish his good work.
Mbaka also told the governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress, APC, in Enugu state, Senator Ayogu Eze to forget his governorship ambition so that governor Ugwuanyi will finish his second tenure.

The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, Dr Daniel Olukoya, in his own prophesies described 2019 as a year of many strange happenings.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has issued a warning to candidates to disregard advertisements in the social media, announcing sales of registration documents with some illegal centres and subject combinations.
The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos.
He said:
“It has come to the notice of the board that some fraudsters have listed out centres for the examination and in the process, inserted some illegal ones.
“Let me state here that all the processes concerning the board can only be done by approved Computer Based Centres (CBT).”
According to Benjamin, over 700 centres have so far been accredited for the conduct of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scheduled to commence on March 16.
He said JAMB would soon publish the list of all approved centres in all its state offices nationwide to guide prospective candidates in choosing centres nearest to them.
He announced that the sales of registration documents for the examination would commence on Jan. 10.
“Already the list of over 700 accredited centres for this examination has been uploaded on our website.
“But we have not published any advert concerning all the processes, we are hoping to do so soon.
“Precisely before the commencement of the sales of the forms just as we will paste the list of all the accredited CBT centres at all our state offices nationwide.
“This is to guide the candidates towards the examination processes in order not to fall prey to these fraudsters who are bent on finding ways of causing pains to innocent Nigerians,” Benjamin said.
He added that candidates can also go to the “playstore app” on their mobile phones and download “jambibass” to get authentic information especially as regards subject and course combinations among others.

President Buhari will be spending N1bn on travels, as it was learnt that the 2019 budget proposes N250,021,595 for the President’s local trips and N751,296,576 for him to travel internationally.
Same budget proposed N83,974,710 for Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s local travel, while N217,060,883 was proposed for his international trips.
Under foodstuff/catering materials supplies, N98,306,492 was budgeted for the President and N50,888,218 for the Vice-President.
The Federal Government also proposed N416,668,229 for the construction of the presidential wing of the State House Medical Centre out of the Presidency’s total estimate of N49, 307,859,794 in the 2019 budget proposal.
Punch reported that N823,441,666 was proposed for the State House Medical Centre, including drugs and medical supplies (N208,350,424).
The State House also budgeted N36, 787,354 for drugs and medical supplies, and N51,821,160 for medical expenses. With just a few minutes to ring in the new year, 30 lives were reportedly lost in a road accident on Monday night near Bola Ige International market along new Ife-Ibadan expressway, Gbagi, Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
According to reports, the victims were crushed to death by an oncoming trailer from Iwo road axis which rammed into the commercial buses by the entrance of the market. The Gbagi accident which occurred around 11:45pm, led to heavy gridlock which saw vehicles enroute Ife from Ibadan stranded for several hours.
Although, no eyewitness could say if the trailer suffered a brake failure or if the affected buses were parked on the road, sources confirmed that only two people initially survived the accident and many people were taken to a nearby hospital while other passengers were said to have died immediately.
A Toyota Camry and Nissan Micra cars were also said to have been crushed by the trailer. Sources, however, hinted that many of the victims included people going to churches for the cross-over service at Iyana-Agbala and Egbeda Area of the capital city. Victims included a pregnant woman, simply identified as Mrs. Funmilayo who was said to be on her way to visit her In-laws; a driver of a bus identified as ‘Orobo Baba Weather’; and many others that could not be identified as of the time of filing this report.
Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adekunle Ajisebutu, puts the casualty figure at eleven, while another report obtained from the office of the Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mrs Cecilia Alao, indicated that 12 people died as a result of the incident and their corpses were deposited at the morgue of Oyo State Specialist Hospital, Adeoyo. It noted that aside from nine who died immediately at the scene, additional three persons died on Tuesday morning out of the 10 injured victims who were conveyed to Toun Specialist Hospital, Iwo road area for medical attention.
2 African migrants hiding in mattresses have been caught at Spanish border when immigration officers ordered that the items be cut open.
Spanish border police may have been used to seeing various kinds of means in which desperate African migrants hide themselves in an attempt to enter the country, but this was considered entirely different.
