Robbers were left disappointed after meeting the absence of their victims in his home, which made them leave a note threatening to come back.
The incident happened at Grace Estate, in Iyesi area of Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, after the robbers broke into a three-bedroom apartment when the occupants were away from home.
According to reports, the robbers were said to have made attempt to enter the apartment through the main entrance to the building, but they could not open the main door. It was said that the robbers broke into the building through the ceiling of an adjoining flat and carted away one of the electronic gadgets in the house.
They were also said to have made attempt to break into the rooms, but the doors were too strong for them to unlock or vandalise. Apparently frustrated over their not too successful operation caused by the absence of occupants of the building, the hoodlums were said to have left a note promising to return at no given date.
The note sighted by our correspondent reads: ‘’We are coming back o !!! Goodluck.’’ The incident was reported to the Obasanjo Farm Police Division, Ota. It was learnt that policemen from the division visited the scene, while the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the station had directed his men to embark on constant patrol and surveillance of the community to keep the gang in check.
Speaking with The Nation, the owner of the building, Dare Ogunyombo explained that he was away from home for some days with his family, when the gang visited his residence.
He said: ‘’the suspected robbers visited my residence while I was away from home with my wife and children. They ransacked the house and scattered everywhere.
I noticed that they fruitlessly tried to force their way into my apartment through the main door to the building. They however broke the ceiling of the next flat and entered my apartment through the roof, while they carted away a satellite television decoder in the living room.
They also made attempt to enter my room but the door was too strong for them to unlock or break. I guess they were in a hurry to rob and because they were frustrated, they left a note on the table threatening to come back for me and my family.’’

After much tease on social media by Timaya, here is the bubbly dancehall made for the dance floor. The gang hope to shutdown the year with a bang with this single.
A robbery suspect who was paraded alongside his gang members in Rivers State, has lamented over not making enough money before his arrest.
The 28-year-old robbery suspect Junior Nmeni, who told newsmen that he and his gang members had only been able to make N223,000 and get some phones from robbery operations he participated in, further disclosed that he hoped to make enough proceeds from the crime so that he could take care of his wife.
The suspect who was paraded alongside six other members of the gang – a 25-year-old woman, Precious Okoye, aka Angel; Oliver Nwokocha; Emeka Iwuayawu; Victor Nwabusis; Sunny Nweke and Ezekiel Ishaya – was arrested by an Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team led by DCP Abba Kyari.
The expectant father who said he went into robbery after he lost his job as a cleaner at the Port Harcourt International Airport, was arrested following a petition addressed to the police by the family of a golfer, Usman Zabadi, who was reportedly killed by the gang in his house on Poultry Road, Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt.
The suspects who made away with some television sets, two mobile phones and an Automated Teller Machine card, withdrew undisclosed sums of money using the ATM card which belonged to the deceased’s wife.
The gang was busted with images generated from the CCTV at the ATM, and one Nwokocha who reportedly shot Zabadi dead, was arrested in the Iguruta area of Port Harcourt and led the operatives to apprehend other members, including Nmeni.
“I was a cleaner at the Port Harcourt International Airport where I earned N18,000 as salary. I joined the gang seven months ago because the company I worked for sacked me and things became very hard for me and my wife.
“There was a gun that belonged to my late elder brother. I found the gun in the ceiling of his apartment. There was a riot in Nwokocha’s community and I gave the gun to him. After the crisis, he used the gun to rob and he killed a man with it.
“He returned the gun and told me what he had done. I decided to join the gang. We robbed a man and a woman at Iguruta. We kidnapped the woman’s sister and I raped her. I kept her in my house for two days before Iwuayawu and I started demanding a ransom.
“We were paid N200,000 ransom and I got N23,000 as my share since we were six that did the job. The next operation I went for was at a hotel. Elvis (a gang member at large) brought one of the guns we used for the operation. It was Sunny, another member, who gave us information about the hotel. We got N21,000 from the hotel and three phones” he said.
Nmeni who disclosed that his last operation with the gang was at the home of one Mr. Ogundun, stated that they were confronted by their victim which forced them to retreat. He added that he had not made enough money from “the business” before he was arrested.
“Elvis was the one who brought ‘the job’ but on the day we went to the man’s house, we didn’t succeed. The man had a gun and he shot at Nwokocha. We took the man’s motorcycle away.
“I hadn’t made much money from ‘the business’ (robbery) before I was arrested. I was hoping to raise enough money which I intended to use for my pregnant wife’s delivery,” Nmeni stated.

Cameroon have been stripped of hosting next year’s Africa Cup of Nations by the Confederation of African Football.
African football’s governing body (Caf) says it is because of delays in the progress of Cameroon’s preparation for the tournament, due to start in June.
Officials made the decision at a meeting on Friday in Accra, Ghana, that lasted more than 10 hours. CAF president Ahmad Ahmad says it will work to “determine a new organising country by the end of the year”.
In a statement, CAF said “a number of compliance conditions have not been met” and it did not want to expose the Africa Cup of Nations to “any issues that could impact on the success of the most prestigious African competition”.
CAF added postponing the tournament was not possible due to contractual commitments. The tournament is set to be the first held in June and July and will be expanded from 16 to 24 teams. Ahmad said last year that Cameroon still needed “to convince Caf of its ability” to host the event, with the country playing down fears sanctions would be imposed if preparations were deemed to be behind schedule.
At the moment, Morocco; having stepped in to hold this year’s African Nations Championship after Kenya were deemed not ready. South Africa and Egypt are all under consideration as replacement hosts.
The manager of Nigerian music star, Tekno Miles, John, has revealed why other pop stars such as Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage don’t suffer vocal cord damage.
The news broke on social media during the week that Tekno, a.k.a Slim Daddy would be briefly away from the music scene as a result of the temporary damage to his vocal cord. (See Here)
The damage was said to have come as a result of excessive strain he has put on it overtime.
However, music pundits and critics wondered why Tiwa, Wizkid, Davido, others have never suffered such.
John told Vanguard, “It can happen; Wizkid, Davido and others are always on the move for shows around the world too but they have never recorded such because they don’t do live band like Tekno.
“Tekno performs with a live band in all his international shows and even some in Nigeria.
“Davido doesn’t even have good vocal box and that’s why his voice sounds that way. Wizkid too can’t do high tempo music; it’s always mid tempo songs.
“Tiwa started professionally with good vocal coaches and all that, I’m sure that helps her a lot.
“The same thing that happened to Tekno happens to international musicians too; they just have to treat it and rest the voice for some time to heal up.”

Following close to a month of peace, female hip-hop stars, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B‘s unending beef has sprung up again after the former threw a pronounced shade at the latter recently.
Nicki Minaj dropped a video for her track “Good Form” featuring Lil Wayne off her “Queen” album and she chose to hire sisters/video vixens/strip club bartenders, Baddie Gi and Jade to star in it.
The duo are currently preparing to sue Cardi, TMZ reports, after she allegedly ordered an attack on them in late August.
Cardi accused Jade of sleeping with her husband, Migos’ Offset. Jade accused Cardi of hiring five people to jump her at Queens’ Angels Strip Club. They allegedly punched her, pulled her hair and hit her with an ashtray.
Both women claim that hours after the attack, Cardi B entered the club and threw a bottle at the pair of them, and they suffered injuries in the assault. She has denied the allegations.
Nigerian singer, Terry G who recently released a new single, has disclosed that his baby mama doesn’t like his song even though she loves him.
According to Terry G, his baby mama with whom he has a six-year-old son was his biggest critic as regards his career.
He told Saturday Beats;
“My baby mama is not worried about the fact that we have not got married yet so people should not worry on our behalf. At the end of the day, what is marriage? I do not have a clue and I cannot jump into it. “We are still both young and by God’s grace, we have been through the struggles together. Most of my business is being handled by her. When we get to a certain age, we would do it (get married). I believe in the institution of marriage.
“She is the only child of her mother and the pressure seems to be more from her side (family) but she is in charge. She is a rich girl and in charge. She does not feel threatened by the fact that we are not yet legally married because she knows the kind of person that I am. She knows Gabriel, but does not know Terry G. She does not even like Terry G. She is not a fan of Terry G and she criticises my songs a lot. She is so classy.”
Omotola has revealed that her son doesn’t see her as a serious musician.
Recall the actress ventured into music in 2005 and released her debut album titled – Gba which had singles like Naija Lowa and The Things You Do To Me.
Speaking with Saturday Beats, Omotola says she has not given up on her music career as it is one of her first loves.
The veteran actress said;
“Did I tell anyone that I have retired from music? I hope to do a song with my son but he is very stubborn. He has his own way of doing things. I hope that in future, we can collaborate; I have a certain kind of music that I do, I like rock and soft rock. He is still young and he is experimenting.
“He is doing a lot of stuff. Obviously, he is enjoying himself because he is a ‘rave at the moment’ and maybe he is thinking that I have not ‘blown’ as a musician. I hope to prove myself in the music industry even more than my song, Gba, did. In future when I have built my own place, I would love to perform on stage instead of being commercial-oriented. I enjoy playing on stage more; I enjoy recording and performing. I hope to get there and do that so that people like my son can take me more seriously. My son knows that I am very good when it comes to music but he says, ‘It is not me you would use to blow.’”
The Federal Government has directed the vice-chancellors of public universities and inter-varsity centres to ensure that there’s no salary for striking ASUU lecturers.
In the memo by the National Universities Commission to universities’ VCs which was signed by the Director, Research, Information and Technology, Dr S. B Ramon-Yusuf, Vice Chancellors were directed to enforce the no-work-no-pay rule on the lecturers who are on strike, as payment of salaries from any other sources would be viewed as violation of extant rules and government’s directive.
The memo partly read;
“In view of the current Industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Federal Government has directed that there shall be no payment of any form of salaries and allowances to the staff on strike in federal and inter-varsity centres.
“Consequently, I am to direct vice-chancellors to apply the “No-work-no-pay” rule. However, universities and inter-varsity centres are to pay salaries and allowances to non-teaching staff. All Vice-Chancellors and Directors of Centers should note that the salaries to staff on strike from whatever source of funds shall be viewed as violation of extant rules and directive of the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
Chairman of the University of Ibadan chapter of ASUU, Dr. Deji Omole who reacted to the FG directive of no salary for striking ASUU lecturers, stated that it was shameful that the Nigerian government owe lecturers seven years of unpaid salaries and allowances and still want them to continue to work while the Presidency and the National Assembly members feed fat on the wealth of the nation.
The ASUU chairman who stated that the military government tried unsuccessfully to intimidate the collective will of Nigerian masses, added that a government that prides itself as having integrity should honour agreements reached with the union instead of resulting to harassment and intimidation of union members on a patriotic struggle to save public education in the country.
Olu Maintain has declared that his hit song, “Yahooze” was in no way connected to the ‘rampant internet fraud’.
The veteran singer said he was not the one that began the trend, stressed that his 11-year-old song (yahooze) didn’t promote the crime.
Olu Maintain added that his song was about an artiste that got a million dollar deal, and the video he shot for the song passed the message across clearly.
“When you create a body of art, people can misinterpret it the way they see fit. I mean, Yahooze is 11 years old and if you watch the video of the song, it was centered around an upcoming artiste that got a million dollar record deal. That was the message I presented with the song. Does the music video in any way represent Internet fraud? The answer is no.
“I cannot be responsible for how people interpret a work of art. It is like a painting, a man would value a painting for millions of dollars but to the other man, it does not make sense. Art should be subjected to everyone’s interpretation. My interpretation of that form of art was made very obvious,” he said.
The veteran singer who further told Saturday Beats why it’s been difficult releasing another hit song that could rival, Yahooze, said;
“It is a different generation and a different era with a different demography. As an artiste; as you grow, your core demography changes.
“Yahooze came out in an era when there was no social media. Today, people’s patience to digest any material is very short; 11 years ago, it was not like that. If you had a hit song, it could last for about two years but these days you are competing with so many bodies of work and it would take something special for you to have the same kind of buzz that a song like Yahooze had.”
Former President, George Herbert Walker Bush, the World War II veteran who was elected the 41st President of the United States and fathered the nation’s 43rd, died late Friday at the age of 94, his family announced in a statement.
Bush advocated a “kinder, gentler” conservatism, pursued policies that helped topple the Soviet empire and initiated military campaigns that ousted one foreign dictator and crippled another. He lived longer than any other U.S. president, and presided over the demise of the Cold War.
Wife Barbara died April 17 at age 92. Their 73-year marriage was longer than that of any presidential couple in U.S. history. Their children included former President George W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Delectable Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has shown off her latest acquisition, which is an expensive set of iced-out grills.
Tiwa who has always loved grills and worn braces, showed it off on her Instastory.
Talking about blinding haters with a smile.
Meanwhile, Tiwa has revealed that she only looks beautiful by the help of make-ups and push-up bras.
The music star said that in spite of the glitz and glamour she displays on social media, she sometimes feels depressed by low self-esteem.
Tiwa stated that sometimes she is intimidated by the glamour on social media.
“I get a lot of messages from young girls who are depressed with low self-esteem because they don’t feel pretty like the social media girls they see every day and my heart breaks because I feel like that too sometimes.
“We are all in this together, I’m not perfect, and not the prettiest, sexiest, richest but I’ll remain kind and seek after God’s heart because none of the others matters to Him.
“Ultimately God’s approval is all we need”, she said.
She added that contrary to public belief, she hardly sees herself as a pretty woman.
“Some people are born beautiful, flawless skin, long curly hair, fair skin but some of us grew up looking at the world’s definition of beauty and found ourselves not fitting into that standard but with the help of makeup, filters and push up bras we feel a little closer.
“What happens when you take all that off and you stare at yourself in the mirror, do you still think you are beautiful?
“You should because you are and when we meet our creator face to face it’s those with the kindest hearts that will stand as most beautiful.
“So while we work on the outside make sure we work on our hearts.”

Popular Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna and his Colombian wife, Sonia Morales have for a while now, been plagued with break-up rumors.
While speaking in an exclusive interview with radio presenter and media personality, Daddy Freeze, IK Ogbonna, spoke out for the first time.
He said:
”Even if we have issues like every relationship has, I feel like when we see one on one, we will sort them out. The thing I hate about Nigerians on marriage is that everyone tries to pretend like marriage is perfect. If you don’t fight with your wife, you are not in a relationship. No marriage is perfect. My wife is my best friend first. We might not agree on everything but we are true friends.”
The actor credited her for his success saying since he met her, his, “account (bank) increased, my followers increased, my work rate, my spirituality increased”.
The actor also disclosed that his estranged wife travelled down to Nigeria three months after they started chatting on Blackberry Messenger.

“I was stark broke when she came. I had just finished paying my rent and my account was red. I remember I borrowed like N10k from Adunni Ade. I used N5k to fuel the car to go to the airport. I had to buy Indomie (noodles) and a crate of eggs. I thought I was going to lose her.”
Ogbonna said his wife wanted to go out and explore Nigeria but he insisted on them staying at home, adding that the first four days, her mood changed.
“She was like how will I be in your country and you won’t take me anywhere,” he recounted.
“At some point, I had to tell her that I am a hustling guy. I am just someone that believes in myself. She asked me one question; do I look like someone that wants to marry a broke person?”
