An orangutan chained to bed, shaved daily and forced to have sex with men for years, has finally undergone rehabilitation after it was rescued from its kidnapper
The unfortunate animal, named Pony, was captured and “treated as a prostitute” by her kidnapper, who pimped her out to clients.
The sickening abuse carried on for years before she was finally freed.
Rescuers discovered Pony’s body had been shaved and she was covered in painful bites.
She had been chained to a bed and raped repeatedly.
The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation said:
“Unthinkably, Pony was herself treated as a prostitute. Men could pay a certain amount of money to the house owner to have sex with her.”
It is thought Pony was just six years old when she was rescued and it is not known exactly how long she had been at the ‘brothel’.
“The house owner strongly refused to give up Pony. To her, Pony was a cash machine and a source of luck.”
Volunteer Michelle Desilets told Sun Online:
“It was horrifying. She was a sex slave – it was grotesque. She must have been in so much pain.”
The orangutan was rescued in 2003.
During her rehabilitation, men were not allowed near her, as she was obviously traumatised by the cruel treatment she had endured.
It is only after 15 years that she is finally in good health and able to forage for food at the Nyaru Menteng Rehabilitation Centre, where she is in an enclosure with seven other orangutans.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged the presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to come clean on the alleged ban on him from traveling to the United States of America (USA) over corrupt practices.
The party also insisted that the Dubai meeting attended by Atiku and other PDP leaders was “a last-ditch effort to raise fund to prosecute their campaign.”
APC, in a statement by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, said the country could not afford to have a “fugitive occupying the highest office in the country.”
The statement noted:
“Again, a challenge the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar must take up is coming clean on the nagging issue of his travel ban to the United States of America following his indictment for corruption in that country.
“Truly, we cannot have a fugitive occupying the highest office in the country. Our great country, Nigeria deserves better.”
On the Atiku planning to raise fund for his campaign, Nabena said:
“The unwillingness of PDP governors to financially support the 2019 presidential campaign of Atiku Abubakar is already public knowledge. In fact, information is now rife that the Dubai meeting attended by Atiku and other PDP leaders was a last-ditch effort to raise presidential campaign cash from foreign financiers by mortgaging key national economic assets particularly the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as payback.
“This disturbing development must be checked by relevant agencies, particularly the recently established Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), the country’s arm of the global Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) mandated to collect information on suspicious or unusual financial activity suspected of being money laundering and then share such information with relevant anti-crime or regulatory agencies.
“Backed by their discredited cyber-thugs, the PDP in its desperate bid to remain in public reckoning continues to expose itself as a joke before Nigerians. The PDP should know by now that elections are not won through falsehood on the internet, but by valid votes of the electorate who are aware of who ruined the country and who is clearing the rot.”
According to Nabena, it is clear that the country has no credible opposition political party, “but a gang of selfish and mercantile politicians that will do anything to return to elective office.”
Things might not seem well between fans of Ghanaian singer Becca, after she unfollowed everyone on Instagram, except her Nigerian husband.
For reasons best known to her, the ‘Daa ke Daa’ hitmaker had unfollowed her previously tall list of following including her boss, Nana Appiah Mensah of Zylofon, Nana Ama McBrown, Yvonne Okoro, Zynnel Zuh, Sarkodie, and many others.
This seems to have angered some of her friends and followers who feel disrespected by Becca. In a new video she posted to promote a new song she has sang with Patoranking, Becca urged her fans and followers to download the music and share it far and wide.
But instead of responding positively, some of the fans have asked Becca to go and play the song for her husband only to listen to it.
For instance, an Instagram user who felt peeved by Becca’s action, plainly told Becca to go and play the song for her husband alone, adding that Becca shouldn’t expect her fans to hype the song for her since she had unfollowed everyone:
i_am_me_naa: “You unfollowed everybody except ur hubby and u want us to hype your song for u…. Go and play it for ur husband alone nonsense @beccafrica.”
Bright also said he doesn’t understand why Becca would follow just her husband when she had over 1.3 million people following her:
brightgeorges: “I Dnt get it…. y ya get 1.2 million followers and u follow only one person.. sometimes follow ur fans.. it make their day and keep them addicted to everything you do.. @therealfunnyface follows me tho.. I luv that guy die…”
henry_1star: “We miss the old Becca we know. I think most of your fans are little disappointed in you. We don’t enjoy your song like before.”
wealthyvs: “@i_am_me_naa let’s just unfollow her too. These entertainers think they are better than everyone else. Nonsense.”
