Travelers who intend travelling through Kaduna have been advised by the Nigeria police to consider taking alternative routes amidst the on-going Kaduna crisis.
This was disclosed by Jimoh Moshood, police spokesperson who said this measure is imperative to forestall attack as the police is working to maintain calm in troubled area, Premium Times reports.
Moshood said this while featuring on Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels Television Monday, October 22.
“We advise those who will be passing through Kaduna, because Kaduna is gateway to so many states to the north, top make use of alternative routes. They can by-pass Kaduna metro for now because the 24 hours curfew is only within Kaduna metro and in Kajuru local government.
“There are quite a number of alternative routes that can make use of. The announcement has been made since yesterday and we want those who have relatives who want to travel to advise them to make use of alternative routes to by-pass alternative routes.”
He added that:
“Adequate security service has been made for those who will be making use of the train service from Abuja to Kaduna and other parts of the country.”
“Before now, the announcement have been made that there is 24 hours curfew. We so much believe that as soon as normalcy is restored and evaluation of this normalcy is done, the curfew will wind down, if not completely but restricted to some places.”

The senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly Pastor Tunde Bakare, has called out religious leaders who visit Aso Rock and refuse to speak the truth on the plight of Nigerians, to the leaders at the presidential Villa.
The pastor insisted that Nigerians must always speak the truth to power and do away with what he termed a culture of Hypocrisy, The Pulse reports.
He made this statement on Sunday, October 21, 2018, while speaking at the thanksgiving service to mark the 16 anniversary of Foursquare Gospel Church Asokoro, Abuja.
Pastor Bakare observed that some politicians have rendered themselves gods due to the level of authority they have, forgetting that “God brought them there and he has a way of removing them,”.
He Stated that:
“There is so much corruption in this country. But show me a country in the world which has no corruption. What is the solution? We are the answer to the dilemma of Nigeria but we keep playing church. We are the reason Nigeria is the way it is. You and I are responsible,”
Pastor Bakare made reference to Genesis 6:12 and Phil 4:10 – 14 and 18 to describe the problem of corruption. He also insisted that the solution should be people-driven.
“When Samuel (in the Bible) entered the city, the king trembled but when some pastors visit Aso Villa, they are the ones shaking. All they want is photo opportunity (with the President),” he said.
He added that the country is experiencing internal hostility due to superiority some certain individual show to the rest of the people.
Ethiopian doctors found over a hundred iron nails in a man’s stomach in the capital Addis Ababa at the weekend. Other sharp objects were also extracted from the stomach of the patient.
Dawit Teare, a surgeon at St. Peter’s Specialised Hospital, said the 33-year-old patient suffers from mental illness and had apparently consumed the items, including 122 four inch (10 centimetre) nails, four pins, a toothpick and pieces of broken glass.
“The patient has been suffering from mental illness for the last 10 years and had stopped taking his medication two years ago, one probable reason he started consuming inanimate objects,” Dawit told AFP after the two-and-a-half hour operation.
“I’m guessing he consumed the objects with the help of water, however he is a lucky person that those sharp objects didn’t cut his stomach. That could have led to serious infections and even death,” he said.
The surgeon said that while he had dealt with other cases in which people with mental illness had swallowed multiple sharp objects, he had never encountered a case on this scale.
Dawit added that the patient was recovering well after the surgery and he will be monitored to ensure that he continues his medication.

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who was charged with treason but granted bail by Justice Binta Nyako after 18 months in detention, stated that Nigerian courts do not have the capacity to try him. According to him, there is something fundamentally wrong with the brains of those that rule Nigeria.
Nnamdi Kanu who fled the country and magically resurfaced last Friday in Jerusalem after almost a year, said;
“The Nigerian court is a Kangaroo court. I did not jump bail, I left because the court failed to protect me. I shall not be honouring the court. I cannot be tried by a court I do not recognise. The zoo called Nigeria cannot jail me.
I will fight till the last day. Till now, Binta Nyanko’s court has yet to hold a hearing about the circumstances that led the Nigerian Army to come to my house to kill 28 people.
Only upon a clear pronouncement of the intentions of that very court, which I suggest to them should be free, will this very case move forward.
Going forward, there must be guarantee from the international community so that this case can proceed and I will prove once and for all that there is something fundamentally wrong with the brains of those that rule Nigeria.”
Uche Dubem, a Psychology graduate of the Imo State University, who arrived Abuja, last week, after taking off from Shoprite, Owerri, Imo State, on October 13, had a shock while urinating which made his lose consciousness.
However after he collapsed and regained consciousness at the hospital, Mr. Uche said ;
“When I woke up I found myself in the hospital; the National Hospital. Series of tests were conducted and at the end of the day my BP was about 300. But now I am getting okay.”
He said he was one of the Nigerian youths that had benefited from the scholarship scheme sponsored by Atiku.

The 2019 election will never be about character assassination or mouthing some worn-out sloganeerings about corruption but will be about a demonstrable capacity to deliver on the mandate. They are often already lubricated to make them easier to use, but sometimes this might not be enough for comfort.

Researchers say the self-lubricating condom, which becomes really slippery once it comes into contact with body fluid, should get round this.
It could withstand intercourse involving at least 1,000 thrusts without losing its slipperiness, the Royal Society Open Science journal reports.
According to the researchers, intercourse typically lasts half that time, but some sessions are longer.
The police have arrested a woman, with the name, Hawa Yinusa said to be the leader of a vicious gang specialized in kidnapping and robbery in Nasarawa-Abuja-Plateau axis.

The police said Aisha was killed by the gang and her body abandoned in the bush at Uke town in Nasarawa. The bales of clothes in the car were stolen as well.
“Hawa Yinusa further went to court and swore to an affidavit claiming that the victim was her sister before she died and was in the process of withdrawing from the Bank about One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) belonging to the victim before she was arrested,” said the police spokesman Jimoh Moshood.
“The suspect, Hawa Yinusa and her gang have carried out several kidnappings between Abuja, Nasarawa and Plateau States. They have also been involved and confessed to other forms of kidnappings of innocent people, collecting their ATM Cards and withdrawing their money before releasing them. Some of their victims have come forward to the Police investigator and identified them.
“They will be charged to court on completion of Investigation”, the police said.

Jay Inslee, the 23rd Governor of Washington state, has appointed a Nigerian, Edirin Okoloko, to Snohomish County Superior Court as a judge.
“Edirin has a clear dedication to the legal profession and a successful history of bringing justice to some of our state’s most vulnerable crime victims. He will be an excellent addition to the bench in Snohomish County” Inslee said.
Okoloko will replace Judge George Bowden who is retiring. Okoloko, who bagged his Bachelor of Law from the University of Benin in Nigeria and received a law degree from the Seattle University School of Law, has worked for the past 13 years in the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where he is a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney working on homicide, sexual assault, child abuse, and elder abuse cases.
He has also worked in the office’s violent crime, property crime, and District Court units, and he represents the office on the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team which investigates incidents of suspected excessive force by police officers.
He has successfully prosecuted four murder trials and has been recognised by his office for completing a high volume of jury trials. Before working as a prosecutor, Okoloko served as a judicial law clerk for former Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Michael Downes.
