The Best Graduating Student of the Department of Mass Communication, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly Anambra State University, Best Somadina Nwabuwa has been celebrated for his exceptional feat.
Nwabuwa was given award by an online news platform, massmediang to celebrate his achievement.
He was given an undisclosed sum of money, a live chicken and yam tuber by the news platform, an organisaton known for celebrating excellence in communication education using agricultural products.

Nollywood actress, Lilian Afegbai has incurred the wrath of some Nigerians after she declared her “real age” on the gram.
Just after she won the award for Best Indigenous Language Movies or TV Series – Igbo, She posted her photos online and revealed her age to be 26.

Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold has explained the rationale behind his choice of Seyi Shay for the role of Delilah in his latest music video.

There was mild drama this morning at Eleko, Ibeju Lekki, as a lady was beaten for allegedly stealing a pot of food while it was still being cooked.
According to an eyewitness, the owner of the food (the lady in Ankara) had stepped away to use the toilet, only to return to discover that what she was cooking had disappeared.

Nigeria’s barbie doll, Bobrisky was yesterday deported back to Nigeria, after been denied entry into the U.K, where he was scheduled to have a meet-and-greet even last night.
Bobrisky was yesterday, being held at a detention camp near the Heathrow airport in London and was put on a return flight to Lagos by 10pm yesterday, and arrived Nigeria today.
It was gathered that he was denied entry because his visa doesn’t permit him to work in the U.K, as he is in the country to make money via the event. He was also said to be in possession of some creams he intended to sell.

A student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State (FUNAAB), was yesterday, hospitalized, after he consumed a bottle of gin, Lord over a N5,000 bet.
Identified as Hassan Faruk, a 300 level student of Biochemistry department, Faruk had entered the bet with one of his friends, who dared him to drink the bottle of gin.
However, after gulping the gin, he lost consciousness and has to be rushed to the hospital. His current condition remains unknown.

Ivorian Socialites, BB Folita and her boyfriend, Fernandez Joli were both arrested by Abidjan police, placed in handcuffs after they both released a n*de video on social media.
According to unconfirmed reports, the slay couple have been released after being warned by the police. They promised not to engage in such act again.
The police has warned social media users in Côte d’Ivoire to be wary of what they post online to avoid being arrested like the popular socialites.
The Anambra State Police Command on Friday denied reported shooting incident of any kind in Anambra State targeted at a pastor or any church as reported in some national dailies.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Chris Owolabi, who addressed the press on behalf of the Commissioner, Garba Umar, at the Command headquarters in Awka while debunking such report described such as the antics of some mischievous elements that are “bent on portraying the state in bad light in order to achieve their selfish goals.
Clarifying on the actual report of what happened, the police boss said Pastor David Elijah of Grace and Power Ministries, Awka claimed that he was attacked by unknown gunmen along Enugu-Udi road in Enugu State and his vehicle was riddled with bullets but he escaped unhurt.
“However, instead of reporting the incident at the nearest police station where the incident took place, the pastor drove his car to his church in Awka and attracted the attention of his congregation who were waiting for him at the church premises for an event.
“Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police directed the DPO ‘B’ Division to immediately proceed to the church and ascertain the true situation. The DPO visited the Pastor at his church and even took photographs with him to clear the ambiguity”
While imploring members of the public to disregard such misleading reports, the command advised Anambra people at home and in the Diaspora to avoid mischievous media and individuals who continue to make spirited attempts to misinform members of the public.
“We should all strive to work in the best interest of our dear state and the Nation in general” the Commissioner of Police stated.

The founder and leader of True Fire Prophetic Word Ministries, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has revealed that he had on some occasions ended up sleeping with other women apart from his wife.
According to Nigel, women are his greatest weakness, and many of them make advances towards him.

A £150,000 bespoke Range Rover has been stolen from boxing heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, in the early hours of yesterday.
Joshua has vowed to round up the thieves who stole the vehicle just days before his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight title defense against Alexander Povetkin.
The Range Rover was taken from a relative’s home in London on Thursday while the boxer was training at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

On Thursday, September 6, 2018, the Center was unveiled and renamed Otunba Subomi Balogun Conference Centre.
According to the University, the decision is in recognition of Otunba Balogun’s numerous and significant contributions to the development of the institution, education and the country over the years. The Univer
ity of Ibadan, in a letter to the FCMB Founder from the Governing Council and signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi, said, ‘’we acknowledge with gratitude, your prayers and goodwill for the continuous progress of the University’’.
The Olori Omo-Oba Akile Ijebu, Otunba (Dr)Michael Olasubomi Balogun is said to be the first Board Chairman of UI Ventures, who brought his business acumen into play to transform the organisation into a full-fledged business group.

His impact on the University of Ibadan and other public as well as private institutions has been acknowledged as legendary. He was also the first in Nigeria, through First City Merchant Bank Limited (now First City Monument Bank, a member of FCMB Group), to endow a Professorial Chair in a University when at the University of Ibadan, he set up a Chair for Capital Market Studies in the Department of Economics and Finance.
Otunba Balogun, in 2014 totally donated to the University of Ibadan, the Otunba Tunwase Paediatric Hospital (the largest in Nigeria) which he built in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, a facility worth N4billion in current market evaluation.
He was the first Nigerian to receive special training in Legal Drafting in Whitehall and the City of London with particular specialisation in financial legislation, instruments and agreements.
The FCMB Founder served as a Crown Counsel in both the Ministry of Justice of the then Western Nigeria and subsequently as Assistant Parliamentary Counsel in the Federal Ministry of Justice in Lagos.
In 1979, he single-handedly set up the first wholly Nigerian owned merchant bank, entirely conceived and promoted by him and this he christened “First City Merchant Bank Limited”. Dickson Samba, A Kenyan man reportedly caught his wife bonking another man after he returned home unnanounced, but he unfortunately lost his life.
Dickson after he returned home, caught his wife on another man, and he immediately engaged the man in a fierce fist fight at their home in Umoja Estate, Nairobi.
Unfortunately for him, he fell off the balcony, and died from the injuries he sustained. Eyewitnesses alleged that the man he caught having sex with his wife, overpowered and pushed him over the rails of the balcony of the 4th floor.

According to multiple reports, a pastor was allegedly attacked and shot at by assassins today, but he miraculously escaped, as none of the bullets penetrated his body.
The reports which was shared by his church members on social media, the pastor, identified as Pastor David Elijah, the founder of Grace and Power Prophetic Ministry International, was attacked in Awka, Anambra state, as he was going to his Church.
Bullets holes can be seen all over Pastor Elijah’s car. Some of his car screens were completely shattered by the bullet. But the pastor had no scratch. Though the bullets tore his clothes, none penetrated his skin.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has appealed to Nigerians living abroad and in diaspora to return home to help build the Nigeria of everybody’s dream, assuring them that things are changing in the country.
Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, made the appeal at a series of Town Hall meetings with Nigerians in the United State where he told them that old ways of doing things are now giving way to new ways. The minister was in the U.S. to sensitise diaspora Nigerians on the Presidential Executive Order V signed by President Buhari in February, to improve local content in public procurement with science, engineering and technology components.
The Order is expected to promote the application of science, technology and innovation towards achieving Nigeria’s development goals across all sectors of her economy.
The minister said: “Please we want you to return home, it is important. Not everybody will return but some can start coming home, and that’s the essence. We are telling you that things are changing in Nigeria, this is the message, that’s why I’m here.
I heard all the complaints people will do this and nobody responds and all that and so on; yes, these are things that happened in the past and we can’t correct these things just overnight. This is the truth, there is no way you can make these changes and then make the corrections and all that overnight. But the important thing is that there is a change”.
Onu appealed to the Nigerians to make a patriotic decisions about their country, saying “we can’t all be waiting until everything is okay in Nigeria before we can return home”.
Theo Ukpaa, a writer, director and top staff of Linda Ikeji TV who was sacked from his enviable position after a r*pe allegation was leveled against him, has spoken out.
In a lengthy note he penned to address the matter, Theo rubbished his accuser, Emilia Samuel’s claims, insisting that he is innocent and that he has been framed.

He went on to break down Emilia’s claims paragraph by paragraph, finding fault with virtually every statement as he tried to prove why she is lying.
Mr. Ukpaa explained that he has worked for several pageants and reality shows and no one can say he has every molested anybody. He ended up by saying his legal team will file proper official reports in the coming days.
