A Filipino couple defiled all odds as they did not allow monsoon rains stop their wedding, so they went ahead to hold their marriage ceremony in a flooded Philippines church.
In a video showing the unusual wedding, the bride is seen being led in by her father as they walk through water, down the aisle, to meet her waiting husband who was standing ankle deep in water.
Though it was a gloomy day and the church was flooded, the couple wore a huge smile that could not be damped by the situation around them.
According to reports, the bride arrived at the church by boat while the groom wore flip-flops with his suit because of the flood.

A woman died on Thursday, the day she was celebrating her 42nd birthday after being brutally beaten by her boyfriend.
The South African woman identified as Manotsi Lemao passed away at her cousin’s place after the brutalisation.
The deceased’s cousin, Mateboho Selokoma, from Phase 6 kasi in Mangaung, said she discovered the truth after her husband (Mr. Selokoma) went to collect some money from Manotsi.
“He found the boyfriend. He told him that he and Manotsi had a fight earlier and she was sleeping,” said Mateboho.
“I then went to check on her and I found her brutally beaten. “She had a blue eye and her body was swollen. She could not walk on her own. She said her boyfriend had beaten her up. “I took her to the doctor. X-rays revealed that she had a broken leg.”
Mateboho asked her to spend a few days with her and her family – but she died on Thursday after eating her birthday cake.
“Before she died, she complained that her foot was itchy,” said Mateboho.
“She said her heart was beating too slow, and she fell on my son’s bed and died. Had this man not beaten her, she would still be alive.“I wish the law would take its course.”
Police spokeswoman Sergeant Ikobeng Hlubi confirmed the incident.
“A inquest case has been registered. “According to records, Manotsi was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend and later discharged from hospital. “She died at her cousin’s home and the police are waiting for the post mortem results to determine the cause of death.
“Depending on the results, the charge may possibly be changed to murder.”

A Computer Programme, called World One which was developed by MIT researchers has warned that the world will end in 2040 due to pollution and over-population choking the world.
The prediction was made in 1973. But the omen of doom has resurfaced thanks to an article about the risk of an imminent apocalypse.
The Australian Broadcasting Company has also republished its original report on the doomsday prediction machine, The Express reports.
The computer said woe by analysing trends such as pollution levels, population growth and the depletion of natural resources.
“At around 2020, the condition of the planet becomes highly critical,’ the report said.
If we do nothing about it, the quality of life goes down to zero. Pollution becomes so seriously it will start to kill people, which in turn will cause the population to diminish, lower than it was in 1900. ‘At this stage, around 2040 to 2050, civilised life as we know it on this planet will cease to exist.’
The model is already proving accurate because it forecast a slowdown in the growth of living standards. A programmer called Jay Forrester built the programme in the early seventies and it was tested using Australia’s most powerful computer.

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, NSCDC has arrested a 17-year-old girl, Ramatu Tafida, who cut off her 25-year-old boyfriend’s penis in Babura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
AC Adamu Shehu, the corps Spokesman in the state, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Dutse on Saturday, identified the victim as Abdullahi Sabo, a resident of Kofar Gabas and a teacher at Government Girls Secondary School Babura engaged under N-Power.
“The incident occurred on Thursday in Babura when the attention of our officers was drawn by a good Samaritan who informed them that some youths were about to lynch a girl in Kofar Arewa, the residence of the suspect, to revenge for their friend,” said Shehu.
“Immediately the officers swung into action and went to the scene and whisked the girl away to the office for safety, but they still followed her.
“It was upon reaching the office that we realised what led to the whole matter.
“Ramlatu confessed to having used a knife to cut off the manhood of her husband-to-be. According to her, Abdullahi is the love of her life and he was even introduced to her family members and has equally given the sum of N30,000 as an introduction fee.
“And because of that, she was free to be with him almost all the time. As a result, they became too intimate that they engaged in a sexual affair. However, Miss Ramlatu later learnt that the victim has planned to dump her for another girl since he has already known her as a woman. And that was what made her to plan and execute her attack,” he said.
Sheu said that the suspect further confessed that it was while they were together and about to start their usual affair that she confronted the victim with the issue and he responded in the affirmative.
“And already, she had a knife with her without his knowledge which she brought out and chopped off his manhood. After committing the offence, she ran to her parent’s house to inform her mother. And it was while she was there that the youths stormed the house.
The spokesman said that after knowing the situation, the officers rushed to the scene and took the victim to Babura General Hospital for medical attention.
The victim was later referred to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano.
Mr Shehu said that the suspect had already been charged to court and remanded in prison until September 6 for further hearing.

The Nigerian Government has launched a new initiative to empower Two million petty traders across the country between now and the end of the year.
The initiative called the Trader Moni is meant to further enlarge the present administration’s financial inclusion agenda for all Nigerians regardless of social class and economic status.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

In a determined and significant bid to further enlarge its financial inclusion agenda for all Nigerians regardless of social class and economic status, the Buhari administration has launched a new initiative under the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), called the TraderMoni, which will empower two million petty traders between now and the end of the year.
The scheme, which was launched last week in Lagos, would grant a minimum of 30,000 loans in each State of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
All together, the 2 million mark is expected to be attained on or before the end of this year, with petty traders in Lagos, Kano and Abia States set to be the first round of beneficiaries to draw the collateral free loans.
In addition to the 30,000 loans per State, States with larger populations like Lagos and Kano are expected to get more than 30,000 loans. Across the country, especially in the pilot states, about 500,000 potential beneficiaries have so far been enumerated.
In order to identify the beneficiaries, no less than 4,000 enumeration agents have been engaged by the Bank of Industry which is deploying the new scheme.
TraderMoni is designed to help petty traders expand their trade through the provision of collateral free loans of N10,000. The loans are repayable within a period of six months.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries can get access to a higher facility ranging from N15,000 to N50,000 when they repay N10,000 within the stipulated time period.
The goal of the Buhari Administration is to use the TraderMoni to take financial inclusion down to the grassroots, the bottom of the ladder, considering the contribution of petty traders to economic development. The Federal Government is also aware of the fact that many of the petty traders don’t have what the commercial banks require to grant them loans.
This administration is keen to ensure that such traders at that level are able to build their businesses and grow.
TraderMoni was launched last Tuesday in five markets in Lagos State, with tens of thousands beneficiaries already.
The Lagos markets already reached are Mushin, Ikotun, Agege, Ketu, and Abule Egba markets.
The scheme will soon be taken to other states in the country, with Abia and Kano states next in line.
Beneficiaries are already heaping praise on the Buhari administration for this initiative that will improve their businesses.
A trader in one of the Lagos markets, Anna Enwerem, thanked President Buhari for the initiatives.
“I sell clothes. This N10,000 would do a lot for me and my children. I like this programme so much. I will pay the loan before six months’ time. Before I didn’t believe it, but now that I have received my money I believe,” she said.
Similarly, Chief Mrs Mufiat Adewumi, a market women leader in Lagos, said it will help ordinary Nigerians who cannot have access to commercial banks’ credit facilities because they don’t have collateral, “We are happy about the TraderMoni because this is what we have been expecting for long, that the Government should assist the masses, especially the traders. We thank the Federal Government so much.”

A Terminally Ill boy’s last wish came true when he got to “marry” his mum in a lavish Disney-themed wedding. Seven-year-old Logan Mountcastle, who was diagnosed with an incurable genetic disorder in December, was all smiles as he tied the knot with mother Joelean in the pretend wedding.
Brave Logan was found to be suffering from Leukodystrophy, which affects the brain and nervous system, and told he has anywhere between three and 15 years left.
Dozens of friends and family turned up to Gainsborough Liberal Club in Lincolnshire to witness the Beauty and the Beast-style event.
Guests were reduced to tears as little Logan, dressed as dashing prince, went down the aisle with Joelean, who said she was “overwhelmed” by the lovely day.
Instead of reading traditional wedding vows, Joelean made a promise to Logan, telling him she would always keep him safe.

For how long has Adeniyi Johnson been acting?
Over 15 years. I started from church drama and I moved to TV dramas, Soap operas, Tinsel then I delved into Yoruba films. But now, I am fully more into movies. I do more of movies now. Soap is more of a terrestial thing. Only people who watch terrestial TV get to watch it, except now that some of them are beginning to have their TV Stations on cable. I believe I should spread my tantacles. Movies are more exportable. They send movies abroad. I still do both, but more of movies now, English and Yoruba films. I want people to see what I can do.
What was your experience like in Tinsel?
It was great. After a few attempts we started getting lines. We acted as props. We just sat down and watched people talk and nod. At some point, they started giving us lines. But I felt I deserved more. I wanted more. They didn’t see me as one of the major actors so why should I stay on. I then made the move to do Yoruba movies. As at then I had done my 1st Yoruba film.
The title is Motaka Osi danu by Lekan Ayinde. He saw me at a soap opera location. My dad actually called, so I spoke Yoruba and he said so you can speak Yoruba? He didn’t know I was a Yoruba guy. I told him I am a royal guy. I am from Ondo State
How do you take negative stories and comments?
I have learnt to live with it. I don’t let it bother me. I enjoy it all the same. I don’t try convincing people that I am this kind of person. I live my life as it is. I am someone who does not really do interviews. I run from it interviews. When I read the comments people make about me, I smile because you don’t even know me.
How do you see the dichotomy in the movie industry? They call some people Yoruba Actors and some others English actors. How do you react when people call you Yoruba actor?
I am not a Yoruba actor. I am a Nollywood actor. I was never a Yoruba actor. I have never been a Yoruba actor. I have been a Nollywood actor. I do English films. I do soap operas. I do feature films. I do a Yoruba films also. So, why tag me a Yoruba Actor? You see me in English films. I can mention 10 of my movies that have gone to the cinemas so why call me a Yoruba actor. I am a Nollywood actor. An African actor as a matter of facts.
. He now told me I would becomng to work for him soon. I said No. I am not ooo. I was scared of Yoruba movies then. They said they used to die. He said you will do it and you will not die. That was when I did Agbere, in 2011. I was on set with Yomi Fash Lanso and Mosun Filani. From then till now I have been moving from set to set. I thank God for that. My breakthroughs started coming in Yoruba.

The very excited actress shared a video of a white Toyota Venza birthday gift she got and captioned it; ‘Issa birthday gift’.
The actress from Enugu State shot into prominence in the film ‘Idemili’. In 2014, she was nominated for Best Promising Actress in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards for her role in the blockbuster movie.
