“I’d allow my daughter be a stripper if she wants” — Timaya

Nigerian Dance hall singer, Timaya, has opened up on his marriage plan, how he manages to be a parent and a musician, in this new interview with Vibe Magazine.

According to the father of two, he is not a husband ,material, and he would allow his daughter be a stripper if she wants.

Read excerpts from the interview below:

Did you actually sell plantain?

I wouldn’t be talking about it if I didn’t do it. Of course, I sold plantain. From Monday to Fridays I’d go to school, on Saturday mornings my mother would shade a lot of plantains. The whole bunch would be like N1,200 which is like N40 each in smaller bunches. I guess that’s what really affected my height. Imagine carrying that worth of plantain on your head. If you’re blessed sometimes you could see a buyer that would just buy everything. I think I’m happy I did; very happy I did.

Let’s talk about fatherhood and music. What are the ups and downs?

Fatherhood is life. Anything that is good comes easy. My music is my love and Emma is my life, so we are living it. Sometimes she tells me that “Daddy I don’t like that song, take it off”, and I will be like “why don’t you like it?” I’m trying to grow my kids in the way of love just so that they can be real. If I have bad breath, my daughter can tell me, “Daddy your breath does not smell nice”.

Music and fatherhood is a happy life. I’m not living like I have to be serious because I’m doing music. It’s the job but that’s my life. I might just be doing music sometimes in the studio with my daughter but of course I’m a father, I know what is good for her at her age. So I can tell her “hey, It is bedtime now”. I’m a responsible dad also.

If ten years down the line Emma says, “Daddy I want to do music”, how would you respond?

Whatever makes her happy, 10 or 20 years down the line.

If today she tells me daddy I want to be a stripper, that’s her life. I brought her into this world.

I just need to make her understand what is good and bad, what is right and wrong. Sometimes what you think is wrong for the child can be good for the child. Imagine, my father wanted me to be a banker, how? That’s not what I wanted to be. I followed my dream. Just imagine if my parents had stopped me. This music that they never wanted me to do is what is taking the whole family somewhere, so, I think I should allow my daughter express herself.

How long did it take you to plan your house?

Just a year. I started on February 23rd 2017, I moved in February 2018.

Do we know the lady in your life?

Whichever lady you people see, take it, because you might not see her again or you may still see her again. That’s Timaya for you.

Are you likely to be married anytime soon?

No. I’m not a marriage material. I’m not ready for that.

What a couple did to a 5-year-old girl living with them

A woman, identified simply as Rahmatu and her husband, has been arrested by the police command in Kaduna for allegedly brutalising and almost blinding a five-year-old girl.

The couple was arrested yesterday after news of the assault on the five-year-old, who lives with them at Angwan Dosa, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis in Kaduna North Local Government Area filtered out. It was learnt that the girl had defecated on her bed following complains of running stomach.

The development had angered Rahmatu who descended on the girl, which led to physical injuries, mainly on her face.

However, luck ran out on the suspect, when a neighbour, who got wind of the incident, alerted members of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Umukhail Foundation, who rushed to the house to rescue the girl and drew the attention of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (MWASD).

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner, MWASD, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, said the girl had been treated at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, Kaduna and now in safe custody pending the time her father would come from Maiduguri, Borno State where the little girl hails from.

She said: “When we got the report from an NGO this morning (yesterday), fortunately there are some security personnel on ground, who went to the house and arrested the lady and her husband..“Her husband was arrested because he watched his wife did that to the girl. If found guilty, he would become an accomplice, punishable under the new Child Welfare and Protection Law of Kaduna State. .

Immediately they brought the girl, I took her to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital here in Kaduna for medical examination and treatment because she may be having internal injuries. “She has been treated and examined and she is now in safe custody pending the time her father will come from Maiduguri. .

. “Presently, the woman, who did that to her, is in police custody at Kawo together with her husband. We hope the girl will get justice because the woman will be charged to court after investigation. “This will serve as deterrent to others.

Man loses job opportunity after he did this to a prospective employer

man loses job

CEO of Break Or Make Up, Blessing Okoro, has taken to her Instagram page to narrate how a man she was supposed to help get a job, treated her shabbily because he didn’t know her.

According her, they were supposed to meet at a designated spot and, on the way to the agreed place, they met in a keke napep but didn’t know each other.

She had no idea he was the man she was going to meet and he didn’t also know she was the one he was going to meet for help.

During the keke ride, he was so unkind to her only to later discover who she was.

Blessing who shared the story, wrote:

************

“Always learn to be kind even to those who cant offer you nothing.

Yesterday I had to visit somewhere and it was raining so I did not want to drive there since I was not too familiar with the road ,so I parked my car somewhere close and used a keke.

While I was there I got a call from a long time friend reminding me of my promise tl her husband over a job,so I quickly told her my location, and asked her to tell her husband to meet me up asap since I will be leaving town soon, but I told her to tell her husband to meet me up were I packed my car since that place was a popular land mark .

I dont know her husband and we have never met before,as I sent her the address she called me back and was so excited that I was even around her area which will make it easy for him because he did not even have transport to come out, things was that bad. So I told her that he should pick a drop I will pay.

In other not to keep him stranded I had to start rushing back to were I packed my car . God I even entered under the rain, cold, just to meet up with him so he will not be stranded, as I was walking under the rain I saw a keke and stopped it,the keke man asked me to beg the man inside,so I started begging the man refused and said I was wet. I told him I will sit one side, and he refused, saying except I pay for both his fair and mine.

I agreed, then he allowed me. as entered this man kept me uncomfortable, saying if my wet clothes touch him again I will drop down. I just kept my cool until I finally got to my destination, I did not even reach I stopped at the junction and paid then used my legs to walk to my car ,since it was very close.

I was inside my car warning myself, then I got a call from my friend saying her husband was around, so I described my car and he came . I saw someone knocked on my car glass, wined down and it was this same man in a keke with me?.

I was suppose to pay the keke man,and recommend him for a job. Tears rolled down my eyes,I brought out 3k,gave him, started my car and zoomed off. My friend has been calling and sending me messages, I had to block her. Becaful many times men of gold dont wear gold . Be nice ….”

A Guide to Know Whether A News Article Is Credible Or Not

Owing to the boom in fake news, this is not a time to share and repost every article that comes with a tag ‘latest news today in Nigeria‘. Fake news is becoming a big issue. There are thousands of sites publishing a plethora of articles each day. This makes it hard to know what is credible and what is not. Even being smart in a particular field is not good enough to know what is factual and what is fiction – particularly significant when an attack is launched on climate change – you must be a detective.

With the aid of an editing professional, here are tips to know the accuracy of articles:

Find Facts

Most articles online contain anecdotes, commentary, and opinions. You should ignore all these and find facts. For instance when the writer says “68% of online articles have factual inaccuracies”, it is possible that the figure is cooked if they cannot refer to a credible survey firm. This means that when you spot a fact in an article, you should expect the reference to a source.

Source Evaluation

Let’s say you have spotted a fact “Most web articles are repeated.” And you know the source: X. Do you trust X. If you do, then they must be a well-known professional who has been providing facts over years. However, if the writer quotes W who is just a famous blogger but lacks the training in media and is not trustworthy, then you cannot trust the information.

Reach The Source

Once you have established that the publication got their facts from a trustworthy source, take a few minutes to find out if this is entirely true. Do not just trust what they say, go to the source (which you can search through google) to see the facts for yourself. In the report, you might notice the use of words like ‘some’, ‘all’ and ‘a lot’. To your dismay, you might realize that the words in the publication are exaggerated to excite you. Get closer to the facts source to get clear information.

It Is Tough Work

This process is exhausting considering that you have several publications to read. Fortunately, there are shortcuts you could use to ease the burden.

Magazines: Sites have different standards. Some publish hogwash while others employ meticulous fact-checkers – Most are in between. A large print magazine will provide you with the trusted news. When they claim to have done tests on certain products, they have actually done it.

Newspapers: Magazines have enough time to do their verifications — which is a luxury newspapers don’t have and as a result commit errors now and then. However, they do make corrections to build their reputation. You can trust their publications.

The Rest: Most websites and publications are unreliable. Well, plenty hit the target but others blatantly lie. Even some of the famous sites fail because they do not check their facts. You are also not looking for a publication that agrees with your political standing. Check who is funding their ideas to avoid them. However, you should not ignore all the latest news today in Nigeria. Be investigative in all that you read online.

Lose weight or risk losing your jobs – Nigerian Customs boss to Officers

Nigerian Customs boss

Nigerian Customs Services (NCS) has threatened to sack overweight officials.

Comptroller-General, Col. Hameed Ali (retd) gave the warning during the Nigerian Customs Command and Staff College graduation ceremony for its junior course in Abuja yesterday.

He advised some overweight officers of the service to get back in shape or risk losing their jobs.

Ali said: “We are going to put in place a weight level. If you go beyond a certain weight level, you will be put on probation.

“If you cannot cope, we will probably get you out. Obesity should not be part of us; that is why we are called paramilitary.”

The customs boss also urged officers who are yet to key into the reformation going on in the service to do so immediately.

“Today, we have been able to place customs on a high pedestal. People respect customs, not because of anything, but because we are beginning to change the way we do business.

“We are not asking for bribe anymore, although it’s still going on, but not in many places. Also, we are not living flamboyantly,” he said.

REVEALED! Labour Ministry organized N88m Empowerment Exercise for ‘Ghosts’

Labour Ministry organized

The supposed empowerment projects for youths in Oyo and Ondo organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment was a sham, according to the 2016 report from Auditor-General of the Federation.

According to the auditor-general, the ministry headed by Chris Ngige could not tender identity or names and signatures of the beneficiaries.

His report reads:

“Two (2) payment vouchers with amounts totalling N88,110,000.00 (Eighty-eight million, one hundred and ten thousand naira) were raised and paid to 2 (two) contractors for constituency projects executed in Oyo and Ondo states”.

“The payments were for empowerment and training of youths on livestock production and provision of starter packs in Ondo State and empowerment and training of youths on fish production and provision of starter packs in Oyo state.

“However, the following anomalies were noted:

“There was no verifiable proof like delivery note and store receipt voucher (SRV) to confirm that the starter packs were actually procured and delivered.

“The identity or names and signatures of the beneficiaries of the projects were not disclosed or produced.

“In view of the doubts surrounding these payments, I was unable to certify the genuineness or legitimacy of these payments. Therefore, the ministry was requested to forward all supporting documents to my office for verification, otherwise the sum of N88,110,000.00 (Eighty-eight million, one hundred and ten thousand naira) should be recovered. No response was received.

“Accordingly, the permanent secretary is required to confirm the status of these projects.”

It was reported that the ministry paid N34.9 million on vouchers that did not carry the details of the beneficiaries, locations, account numbers or signatures.

He further wrote:

“Fourteen (14) paid vouchers with amounts totalling N34,986,675.00 (Thirty-four million, nine hundred and eighty-six thousand, six hundred and seventy-five naira) were devoid of relevant details such as names of beneficiaries, location or venue, account numbers of beneficiaries, signatures of participants etc., contrary to the provision of Financial Regulation 603 which stipulates that all vouchers shall contain full particulars of each service such as dates, numbers, quantities, distances and rates, so as to enable them to be checked without reference to any other documents and will invariably be supported by relevant documents such as local purchase orders, invoices, special letters of authority, time sheets etc.

“The permanent secretary should provide these details, otherwise recover the sum of N34,986,675.00 (Thirty-four million, nine hundred and eighty-six thousand, six hundred and seventy-five naira) from the payees and forward evidence of recovery for verification.”

In the executive summary, Ayine wrote: “The financial statements of the federal government for the year ended 31st December 2016 were first submitted to me by the Accountant-General of the Federation on 30th June 2017.

“Following my preliminary observations, the statements were significantly amended and resubmitted on 29th September 2017.

“Further amendments to the financial statements led to another re-submission on 29th December 2017 and 16th January 2018 before the final version was eventually submitted on 20th March 2018.”

Family feud looms as Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma dumps school

Reports has been going round for a while now that Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma dropped out of school.

It seems though that from every indication right now, it looks like Chioma has finally dumped school to concentrate on her love affair with Davido.

According to Vanguard Ripples, a reliable source revealed the story and the report also has it that the chef’s family members are not happy with the new development.

The source also revealed that Chioma’s father, who is a devout Seventh Day Adventist is not particularly pleased that his daughter has not been serious with her studies.

Chioma who gained admission into Babcock University (a Seventh Day Adventist school) to read economics in 2012 is yet to graduate, when she should have completed the course since 2016.

Chioma, once skipped a whole session because she was travellling around with Davido and had to defer her studies. For months now, she has not been attending classes. I can’t even remember the last time she was in school. The last thing I heard from her friends in school is that she’s not interested in coming back to Babcock. She’s travelled out of the country again and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back.

A friend confessed to me that she told her she’s not coming back to Babcock, said a source who wouldn’t want her name in print. It was further gathered that her father has had a strict talk with her that she must finish school before embarking on any marriage plans.

The devout Seventh Day Adventist parents are said to be pained about their child treating her celebrated love affair with the superstar singer as top priority over her education. It is public knowledge that Chioma and Davido are already living like they are married. Wherever there’s Davido, Chioma is sure to be there.

For a woman who had a Porsche car gift on her birthday and a song in her name ruling the airwaves, the fantasy that comes with it may just be too much for her to handle, family or not.

Nigerian Politician buys 9 year old son a Diamond encrusted Cartier Wristwatch as Birthday Gift

Ghanaian singer reveals she turned down trip to Dubai and $100K offer for s*x

Ghanaian singer, eShun has revealed that she once had the opportunity to have $100,000 invested in her music by a fellow who wanted her to spend a week with him in Dubai.

Speaking in an interview on Accra based Class FM, eShun stated that she turned down the offer because it didn’t seem right.

” I had somebody call me, I don’t know him from anywhere, and he’s like, I’ve seen your work, I like you, I’ve checked your Instagram handle and how it’s going so how can he invest into my career and, so, I told him to talk to my boss so that he sees where he can come in.

“I believed everything got down to money because whatever it is, you’ll need money, whether is TV or radio, whatever it is, and he was like money is not a problem for him and that he’s willing to invest $100,000, I was super excited.

“I was happy, but we had been waiting for long for the money, we spoke but he didn’t really mention the money, so one day, I was like, I wanted to ask him if the money was coming any time soon or he just want to us to wait a bit.

“He then told me the money is not a problem but before he gives me the money, he would like to spend the weekend with me in Dubai.”

“I was like: are you saying until that happens the money won’t come? He was like not really but then he wants to show me some things and that is the place he will like to take me after, he can give me the money.

“I asked him: So, is that the condition, no, I don’t think this sounds right. Initially, when he called he should have mentioned that I wouldn’t even have given him attention, so I just backed off,” eShun said.

Nigeria needs a radical approach to be great – Nigerian man writes

Nigerian man writes

A concerned citizen of the country has penned his thoughts on what Nigerians need to take if they want to see the country great again and according to him, it will only take a radical approach.

He wrote ;

A lot of people are waiting in line to do us more harm. The cabals will replace these government positions with their children and loyalists-i don’t see the replacements doing any better performance than the former, This system is a complete sham. we are oppressed and enslaved everyday in a subtle way, Infact the oppression from the law enforcers is vehicle to make politicians pretty much untouchable -to instill fear in us!. Corruption prosecutors are not installed on merits rather it is how far you have gone for the ruling party, who you know and how loyal you are. If we really want change in this country we have to be radical about it-matter expands when heated.

Let me explain the kind of radical i’m talking about, blogs, radiostations, importers, airlines, no one should operate or give a damn about the severe conseqences or penalties for not operating under the normal sequence of operations.

Artists including the most popular should not produce or export any song until there are visible changes. Most people figure their out without the help of the government and somehow that thought process works! Goverment don’t care, they don’t even see the persisting problems, they live from covoy to govt office to govt house not on the streets where the real deal is!

How do we take charge and prepare for the future if we don’t change our mindset? take a minute to stop making dance video challenge or creating unnecessary twitter memes ‘cos One’s progress is paradoxically slow when your mental & physical attention is divided, raw material go thru refining process to become valuable, channel your troll energy into fighting these oppressors using the same medium.

How do we prepare to fight the government radically when all we do is invest in properties, businesses & career we forget our kids our REAL future may grow up in this same economy & like the infinity symbol it’ll be same ol’ same ol’. the subtle oppression from the government has & will continue to enslave our minds until we break out of it.

The road is foggy however i am certain we will get there with a radical approach but who will be the first to swing a catapult at them without being shot down by #endsars .

Senator Bukola Saraki ignores police invitation

Bukola Saraki Ignores

President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki on Tuesday failed to honour the invitation of the Nigeria Police Force over his indictment in the Offa bank robbery.

The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the police had invited Saraki to report to the Head of investigation team, of the Intelligence Response Team ( IRT) on July 24 at 8 a.m. in Guzape, Abuja.

NAN also reports that the invitation was in connection with the confession made by five suspects in the April 5 robbery that they were political thugs of Saraki.

The Force Spokesman, acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, while addressing newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, said that there was no timeline to the invitation.

Moshood said that the force would not shy away from its constitutional responsibilities of crime detection.

“The Nigeria police force will not abdicate from its constitutional responsibilities of detection of crimes and criminalities, and will always treat crime as crime no matter who is involved.

“The force remains focused and will not be distracted from carrying out a discreet and thorough investigation into the indictment of the Senate President,”he,said.

He said that Saraki had case to answer and it was consequent upon that that he was invited to appear before the IRT.

He said that Saraki was not harassed and intimidated physically or otherwise by any police personnel as reported by some media.

“It is also absolutely untrue that Saraki was harassed, threatened or intimidated physically or otherwise by any Police personnel either from the Force Headquarters or any other formation of the Force,”he said.

Moshood implored members of the public to disregard and discountenance the report of the blockade of the residence, harassment and threat to Saraki’s life.

Juliet Ibrahim questions why men do not take care of their women, says someone else will if they don’t

Juliet Ibrahim questions

Ghanaian Actress, Juliet Ibrahim has questioned why some men do not like to take care of their women.

She is of the view that a man must take care of his woman, whether she is well to do or not.

In an Instagram post she made, Juliet’s question seems to suggest that, during the time she was dating Iceberg, her ex Nigerian boyfriend, he was not spending on her because he felt she was well-to-do so there’s no need to spend on her.

She also added that if a man does not take care of his woman, another man would do so for him. Could this be the reason why her relationship with Iceberg ended?

That because Iceberg was not taking care of her, another person was willing to do so and for that reason felt it was not necessary to be locked up in a relationship, that the man was not giving her anything —Perhaps just sex!

Juliet full post which was accompanied by a beautiful image of her read:

“I do not understand Men who don’t take care of their women, all in the name of “She’s independent. If you don’t take care of her my brother someone else will. #OpenGistWithJuliet.”

Couple’s traditional wedding pose earns them backlash from social media users

Nigeria is a country with diverse cultures and customs, but in the diversity there is a unity that most times seem unbreakable.

The traditional wedding between a Man and his bride is one of the most important ceremonies when it comes to nuptial business in Nigeria, and some might even suggest it is more important than a white (church) wedding and the state (court) wedding.

While the event is colorful and cheerful, there is likely to be a little disagreement one time or the other during the course of some ceremonies, and in this case, the way a newly married couple posed in one of their traditional marriage photos has however earned them criticisms from social media users.

In the photo, the Nigerian couple is seen doing a sexually suggestive pose. While they were criticised by a lot of social media users, they were also praised by some, who say it shows they have a playful relationship.

JAMB warns Cyber Cafe owners against overcharging candidates

JAMB warns Cyber Cafe

Private Cyber Cafe operators have been warned by JAMB against extortion of prospective candidates who want to upload their results on the board’s website.

The Head of Media of the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, gave the caution in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Benjamin said that the caution became necessary following several complaints made to the board by the victims, on fraudulent activities by some private café operators.

He said the candidates complained of high amount of money they were being charged by such operators to upload their WAEC results on JAMB website.

“Not only do they charge them high, they also convince candidates who had already uploaded their results on the site to do same again.

“Candidates who have had their results uploaded at the point of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration need not do that again, except for those who registered with awaiting results.

“Those are the ones allowed to upload now on our website.

“This upload should not cost more than N100.

“No cyber café should charge more than this amount, however, if candidates can locate any of our Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres, it is free to make the upload there,” Benjamin said.

NAN correspondent who visited some of the cyber cafés in Bwari reports that while some charge a negotiable N500, few charge up to N1, 000 for the result upload.

The exercise follows the recent release of 2018 WAEC results and the announcement by JAMB that“leaders of institutions agreed that the First Choice Admission would be conducted from July 2 to Oct. 16’’.

According to the board, the Second Choice Admission is to commence from Oct.17 to Dec.17.
