Lagos Zone 2 Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus decided to spend her birthday with Kirikiri inmates after a Thanksgiving at Testimonial Place.
She commended the inmates for being in high spirits despite being incarcerated.
She said to the inmates “I am very happy standing in front of you all to celebrate my birthday, I was a bit surprised and disappointed today because I thought here I would meet people who are depressed and not looking happy, but the reverse is the case and I am happy. Prison is not your permanent home. Always have the belief that you would get your freedom one day”
She also advised them to always follow the Prison’s rules and regulations so that they can eventually regain freedom.
Dr. Umar Faruq Umar, the Emir of Daura has declared that the people from President Buhari’s hometown are hungry and not getting enough from the Federal Government.
Umar stated this when he received the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Audu Ogbeh at his Daura palace, on Monday.
He also urged Ministers appointed by Buhari to reciprocate the gesture by coming to the aid of the people of his constituents through developmental projects and farm inputs.
The Emir noted that Buhari’s Ministers were not doing enough to assist his hometown, Daura with viable projects.
He said, “Buhari by his nature will not influence the siting of any projects in Daura. But his Ministers who benefitted from his appointment should reciprocate by bringing developmental projects to Daura, his birthplace.
“It is a call to duty for the Ministers to make provision in their Ministry’s budget of ensuring that Daura benefitted immensely from Buhari administration. “If the Ministers failed to site any projects to Daura, they have betrayed the President and people of Daura.
“Like the Rice production in Kebbi State. Katsina has prospects in rice production and irrigation farming.
“Katsina has dams and irrigation sites like Sabke, Jibia, Zobe, Daberan, Mai Ruwa dams and if utilized and reciprocated has potentials of feeding the state and it’s neighbours.
“I urge you to go back, look inwards and search for what, how you can assist people of Daura. Daura is faced with the absence of projects for its development and its people are hungry and need federal government assistance.”
A baby girl born without eyes, Kensley Ayanna has already clocked one year. She suffers from a rare genetic condition called Anophthalmia.
Born on March 15, 2017, Kensley’s parents( who are yet to be married) never knew of such genetic condition. They were excited that they were having a baby and looked forward to the latest addition.
Friends organised baby shower for the mum Kiara Shanee and it was so colourful. Then, the expected delivery day and she was delivered of a very cute baby girl. That marked the beginning of a journey for all of them.
Narrating her story, Kiara recalled and wrote on her Instagram page:
“When we found out I was having a baby girl, I was so excited and started planning her whole life out in my head. Dance schools, gymnastics, modelling etc.
“All cute things that little girls do. Andto top it off, my best friend proposed to me, taking the next step to making our family one! Life was looking up and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I ate all kinds of healthy foods, drank the best water, Google was life and avocado became my best friend lol. The day came on 3.15.2017 at 5:34am after having labour pains for almost two days.
“It was a natural and easy birth and God blessed me with a beautiful baby girl— Kensley Ayanna.
“But I noticed something. It was a big lump under her left eye and her eyes were swollen.
“I asked the nurses and doctors I saw that day and everyone told me it would go down, not to worry about it.
“But I pressed on because I wanted her to open her eyes.. to see me and her dad.
“The next day we were hit with heart breaking news. “We didn’t find any”, is what they said to us. My heart fell to my stomach. My fiancé broken like never before.
“In an instant it pulled us closer together. With my mom by my side, they helped me to be STRONG.
“I had no other choice. It felt like a dream. My baby girl has a rare genetic disorder called Anophthalmia (born without eyes). Like what? Why me? Why her? But I soon realized what was best for her was me and what was best for me was her!
“Today I no longer have those questions. God makes no mistakes. During ultrasounds she would cover her face or turn her head because she was meant to be here.
“I will treat my daughter as normal because she is normal.
A healthy baby girl who has the advantage of not seeing the ugliness in the world the way I do.
“To meet and love someone for who they are, not what they see. To surpass all limitations and expectations. Kensley will have to work a little harder but yes, I will see to it as her mother that NOTHING stands in her way. For now my eyes are hers and I will show my daughter nothing but love…” (sic)
Already, the baby has gone through five eye procedures which would remove old socket expanders (what you all see that’s in her sockets) and replacing them with bigger ones. According to her mum, as she grows, she will need bigger ones.
Reverend King, who is currently incarcerated in prison has his campaign posters already flooding the streets.
The convicted prisoner is said to be running for the Presidency in the 2109 election under the platform of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA).
The General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly (CPA), was was arraigned on September 26, 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder.
He was sentenced to death by hanging in 2007 by Justice Joseph Oyewole at a Lagos High Court tried for murder of a church member, Ann Uzoh.
The judgement was upheld by the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division and finally affirmed by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court in 2016.
But according to a Brazil-based church leader, Rt Rev Ernest King, many Nigerians have been going to the prison in Sokoto to mount pressure on Rev King to come and contest and deliver the country.
According to a report by Newsmakers in February (during Rev. King’s birthday celebration), Ernest King said:
“This is the man that has solution for Nigeria. He prophesied about Nigeria’s case 18 years ago, that the country will come to a stage where there will be no solution. He said that he would be somewhere resting and they would bring the issue of Nigeria to him for him to solve for them.
“That was how they went to the prison about two months ago pleading that he should come and take over Nigeria. He had prophesied this 18 years ago.
“If Rev King should be allowed to handle Nigeria under 5 years, Nigeria will be one of the best countries in the world.”
He added:
“This is the man that has solution to every problem on Earth, but Nigerians don’t know what God gave them. The wicked and occult people want to kill him, but it’s impossible. As he told them in the Court on that day, there’s no rope on Earth that can enter Rev King’s head.”

WEDDING BELLS ARE RINGING❤?❤ I know that my Rebirth Fam @rebirthnetwork would be able to relate more with what I am about to share. Gosh where do I start? My heart is racing…I still can’t believe it. I have prayed for it to happen for 17 years. At some point, I stopped praying about it because nothing changed, things only got worse.
My elder sisters called for a meeting, and between us, we wanted to reconcile my mum and dad but we didn’t tell them about it. I was so afraid. I wondered if they would come or if our plans to bring them back together would work. So, three days before the meeting, I started praying about it. I started imagining them together. I was just doing everything by faith.
On Sunday morning, I had cold feet. I was so afraid. “God, please do it this time”, was my prayer when I entered my late sister’s house for the meeting. It was a VERY long process but yaaaaaaaay THEY MADE UP ??? They hugged each other and looked into each other’s eyes and started laughing. Then my mum started crying and my siblings and I joined in the tears of joy…
I’m still in shock. So fam, wedding bells are ringing ?? oh THERE IS NOTHING GOD CAN NOT DO. DON’T STOP PRAYING. DON’T STOP BELIEVING. HE WILL DO IT IN HIS OWN TIME… I join my faith with everyone whose parents are divorced or separated for whatever reason and I declare that the same God who answered my prayer after 17 years will do yours if you so desire (Amen) Ankara Top @irenestitches #GODSTILLANSWERSPRAYERS #GODISALWAYSGOOD #WITHGODNOTHINGISIMPOSSIBLE #WEDDINGBELLS
She made this revelation just one week after she was handed the worst defeat of her career during the opening match of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic.
In an emotional Instagram post Monday, the mother of Alexis Olympia Ohanian revealed she was in a bit of a “funk” last week, and this was because, lately, she has been guilted by the feeling that she has not been a good mum to her daughter.
“Although I have been with her every day of her life,” Williams wrote on Instagram,
“I’m not around as much as I would like to be. Most of you moms deal with the same thing. Whether stay-at-home or working, finding that balance with kids is a true art.”
Read the full note:
Last week was not easy for me. Not only was I accepting some tough personal stuff, but I just was in a funk. Mostly, I felt like I was not a good mom.
I read several articles that said postpartum emotions can last up to 3 years if not dealt with. I like communication best. Talking things through with my mom, my sisters, my friends let me know that my feelings are totally normal.
It’s totally normal to feel like I’m not doing enough for my baby.
We have all been there. I work a lot, I train, and I’m trying to be the best athlete I can be.
However, that means although I have been with her every day of her life, I’m not around as much as I would like to be. Most of you moms deal with the same thing. Whether stay-at-home or working, finding that balance with kids is a true art. You are the true heroes.
I’m here to say: if you are having a rough day or week–it’s ok–I am, too!!! There’s always tomm!
Only last week, she lost her opening match of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic last Tuesday night to Johanna Konta, 6-1, 6-0, a match that lasted only 52 minutes. On Saturday, she pulled out of this week’s Rogers Cup in Montreal, citing personal reasons.

The Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu says that Nigeria needs N4 billion to tackle infectious diseases.
Ihekweazu said this at the launch of Alliance for Epidemic Preparedness and Response (A4EPR) in Lagos. The launch of A4EPR is aimed at getting major stakeholders in the health sector to combat infectious diseases.
The mission of the group is to seek a way forward in bringing intervention to the risk of infectious diseases, draw attention to the need of innovative partnerships in health emergency. The group also seeks to introduce to the private sector and key stakeholders to the alliance of A4EPR and secure forward commitment and pledge of private sector toward health security.
The NCDC boss, who stressed the need for urgent moves to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, said “Nigeria actually needs about N4 billion to combat infectious diseases. This does not mean that all the monies must come from government; the private sector has a role to play.
“There is the need for financial assistance in critical segments of combating infectious diseases such as infrastructure and equipment which needs about N1.8 billion. The infrastructure and equipment are responsible for the machines and test variables while we also need response and logistics of about N700 million. In Emergency Stockpile, we need N600 million, for Technology and Innovation segment, we need N600 million, Capacity Development needs N200 million, while Advocacy and Community engagement will require N100 million.” Ihekweazu said that the agency was mandated with the task of enhancing the countrys preparedness and response to epidemics.
He added that “we are responsible for the prevention, detection and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases. The core mandate of the NCDC is to detect, investigate, prevent and control diseases of national and international public health importance. We played leading role in the response to the outbreak of Lassa fever, Cerebrospinal Meningitis Cholera, Yellow Fever and Monkey Pox. For now, we need to be deliberate in our actions because we are not sure of the next outbreak, so we need to have all the facilities intact and also get enough funding.”
Cynthia Cherop, a student at the Eldoret based Moi University, Kenya, has confessed to have stolen Sh70,000 from her mother’s two bank accounts, which she entirely spent on her boyfriend.
Ms Cherop pleaded guilty to stealing the money from Barclays and National banks before spending it with Josephat Ng’ang’a. She has told a court session that she bought second hand (mitumba) clothes for her business.
Barclay’s Bank’s CCTV captured the two love birds leaving the bank after withdrawing the money. The boyfriend would later threaten the mother of his girlfriend (Mrs Milka Chebosisi Sitati) of thorough beating if she would talk of it.
Ng’ang’a denied the attempts of assaulting Ms Cherop’s mother, and was released on a Sh30,000 cash bail.
Chief magistrate Francis Andayi said it was unfortunate that the accused stole the money to spend with her boyfriend whom her mother did not approve of.
However, two of Ms Sitati’s brothers pleaded with the court to release Cherop to them since her mother did not want to see her. They said they wanted her to continue attending college.
State prosecutor Solomon Naulikha asked the court to treat the accused as a first offender and was not opposed to her being ordered to serve probation term.
Beyonce shared intimate details about her life in the latest issue of Vogue magazine (read here).
The mother-of-three spoke to Clover Hope about her ancestry, her journey, and her heritage.
Speaking on her journey, she said:
I come from a lineage of broken male-female relationships, abuse of power, and mistrust. Only when I saw that clearly was I able to resolve those conflicts in my own relationship. Connecting to the past and knowing our history makes us both bruised and beautiful.
I researched my ancestry recently and learned that I come from a slave owner who fell in love with and married a slave. I had to process that revelation over time. I questioned what it meant and tried to put it into perspective. I now believe it’s why God blessed me with my twins. Male and female energy was able to coexist and grow in my blood for the first time. I pray that I am able to break the generational curses in my family and that my children will have less complicated lives.
Speaking on her family, on the legacy her mother passed on to her, and the one she intends to pass on to her children, the 36-year-old said:
My mother taught me the importance not just of being seen but of seeing myself. As the mother of two girls, it’s important to me that they see themselves too—in books, films, and on runways.
It’s important to me that they see themselves as CEOs, as bosses, and that they know they can write the script for their own lives—that they can speak their minds and they have no ceiling.
They don’t have to be a certain type or fit into a specific category. They don’t have to be politically correct, as long as they’re authentic, respectful, compassionate, and empathetic. They can explore any religion, fall in love with any race, and love who they want to love.
I want the same things for my son. I want him to know that he can be strong and brave but that he can also be sensitive and kind. I want my son to have a high emotional IQ where he is free to be caring, truthful, and honest. It’s everything a woman wants in a man, and yet we don’t teach it to our boys.
I hope to teach my son not to fall victim to what the internet says he should be or how he should love. I want to create better representations for him so he is allowed to reach his full potential as a man, and to teach him that the real magic he possesses in the world is the power to affirm his own existence.

The drama led to the exchange of diss tracks from loyalists of both parties including the major actors themselves.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that the money recovered from the late military ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha, is not being shared to the poor and vulnerable as widely believed.
Rather, he said, the money is being deployed in the financing of Federal Government’s social investment programmes comprising four components
He described as “mischievous” the insinuations that the government would share to the poor the Abacha loot repatriated by the Swiss Government.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Mohammed said this on Monday when he paid an official visit to the Abuja office of The Authority newspaper.
“When the first tranche of Abacha loot was paid under former President Goodluck Jonathan, the Swiss Government found out that the money was re-looted by those in the administration.
“So, when they wanted to release the next tranche, they put the condition that it must be used for the most vulnerable Nigerians.
“We said there is no problem. It is the money we are using to finance our social investment programmes comprising four components,” the minister said.
Mohammed further said that 8.5 million pupils in government schools across the country are currently being fed under the Home Grown Feeding Programme.
Similarly, he said, over 400,000 families are being paid stipends of N5,000 every month under the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme.
“The beauty of this programme is that it is being done in collaboration with the World Bank.
“It is the World Bank and various agencies that determine the beneficiaries and who are the most vulnerable Nigerians.’’
Mohammed said that part of the money was being used to finance the employment of young graduates through the N-POWER programme.
He said that no fewer than 200,000 people had been employed in the first batch and another 200,000 would be resuming very soon.
“The fourth is the Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme whereby market women, craft people etc., are given loan between N50,000 and N100,000
“So, when we say this money is being used for the poor people, it is not as if we are sharing it to poor people in the states,’’ he said.
Mohammed said the Buhari administration would remain accountable and committed to the welfare of the common people.
The Tanzania Football Federation has appointed Nigerian football legend Emmanuel Amuneke as their new national team coach.
The Tanzania Football Federation confirmed the appointment on their official Twitter handle, with Amunike being unveiled by TFF President Wallace Karia in Dar es Salaam on Monday.
The 47-year-old, who has been without a job since leaving Sudan’s Al Khartoum SC in March, signed a two-year deal with the East Africans, replacing former coach Salum Mayanga.
He will work to help his team get their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign back on track.
Amunike won the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria in 1994 and the Olympic gold with the Super Eagles two years later.
Emmanuel Amunike is a Nigerian retired and Tanzania national team coach, as footballer who played as a left winger, and a current coach. His professional career was blighted by injury.
A team of surgeons has been suspended for taking selfies in the middle of an operation and posting them on social media.
The group of medical professionals, including the surgeon, anaesthesiologist, two surgical assistants and a surgical nurse, work at the Hospital San Jose de Capilla del Senor in Argentina.
The images were taken during an operation and shared on the social media account of one of the surgeons, Lorena Olguin, who works in the gastroenterology area of the hospital.
The photos show the medical team looking at the camera with their surgical masks and gowns on.
One of them shows three of them standing over the patient lying on the operating table, and another with the whole team showing the equipment used in the surgery and bits of gauze with blood on it.
The hospital authorities say they have suspended all of those shown in the photo because they consider it irresponsible behaviour.
The Chinese Film Authorities has banned Disney’s new Winnie the Pooh movie, Christopher Robin.
Images of the character Pooh have been blocked on social media since last year by Chinese authorities, after the AA Milne bear became a symbol of political dissent. Chinese president Xi Jinping has been compared to the bear.
The comparisons which began in 2013 features an image of Xi walking with former president Barack Obama which was posted alongside a picture of Pooh walking next to Tigger.
In 2014 another picture of Xi shaking hands with Japanese
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shared along with a picture of Pooh with Eeyore.
As the memes grew popular, Chinese censors began blocking images, GIFs and mentions of the bear across social media.
In 2015, a picture showing Xi in a motorcade alongside an image of a Winnie the Pooh in a toy car was called “China’s most censored photo” by political analysis company Global Risk Insights.
Back in June, China censored comedian John Oliver and HBO’s website after the British talkshow host ran a segment on his US show, Last Week Tonight, criticising Xi and China and also mentioned the President’s sensitivity to being compared to the bear.
Political Analysis company, Global Risk Insights suggests the censorship of Pooh bear may be taking place because the comparisons with the President are seen by Beijing as “a serious effort to undermine the dignity of the presidential office and Xi himself”.
Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time was also denied a release earlier this year in China but Skyscraper, Mission Impossible: Fallout, and Ant-Man and The Wasp are among Disney’s offerings to open in the country.
Christopher Robin is a live action film featuring Ewan McGregor as the lead role and tells the story of Robin reuniting with the honey-loving bear as an adult and rediscovering his playful imagination.
Rotimi Amaechi, former Governor of Rivers State, now Minister of Transportation has claimed he has nothing to do with money.
He said even people that criticize him in the state know he has a good reputation, adding that he does not indulge in alcohol or cigarette.
The former governor said he has the moral standing to criticize members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for allegedly looting the nation for almost 16 years because he was not corrupt.
He said:
“I ask people ‘what do I need money for?’ I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I am not the one with luxurious houses and cars and it is like what I said when I became governor. I said Nigerian politicians actually commit what they call manslaughter, which is killing by accident when you don’t have intention to kill. How do we politicians kill by accident?
“The money that is meant for the people and earmarked to be used for building hospitals, you take it for your private use and the hospitals are not built and so Nigerians go to hospitals where there are no drugs and they die without knowing it.
“For me, you have committed manslaughter and the problem for me is that Nigerians don’t hold us accountable!”
