Why I threw my two-year-old child inside well — Mother reveals

A hairdresser, Folashade Odubayo, is cooling her heels in the police custody after she was arrested for throwing her two-year-old son, Rilwan Asore, into a well in Ajegunle, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

The boy was recovered dead from the well after some residents of the community, who saw his body floating around 8am on Monday, reported the incident to the police at the Owode Onirin Division.

Odubayo, who fled the scene, was reportedly tracked down on Wednesday at her residence in Iketu, a neighbouring community.

The suspect is an indigene of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and her three children, including Rilwan, are fathered by three different men.

While the father of the deceased child, Olalekan Asore, claimed Rilwan was killed, the suspect said the kid died at her boyfriend’s residence in Ajegunle during a visit.

Odubayo, a 30-year-old hairdresser, told Saturday PUNCH that she threw the corpse into the well out of confusion. She said Rilwan had a hole in the heart which made him to gasp for breath occasionally.

She claimed that the complication recurred around 11pm on Monday while she was with the kid at her boyfriend’s residence in Ajegunle.

She said, “I gave birth to him on the road on my way to a hospital. He started gasping while she was six months old and I took him to Ikorodu General Hospital. I was told that he had a hole in the heart and that I would need about N1.5m to carry out a surgery on him in India.

“I was calling his father and telling him about our child’s case for one year, but he did not show up. I even told his sister about it.

“On July 30, I went to visit my boyfriend, Ola, and took Rilwan along with me. While I was waiting for Ola to come back from work, he started gasping again. I held him to my chest, but he did not survive it. I didn’t know what to do. I was confused. I threw his corpse inside the well because I didn’t know what to tell his father.

“I have two other children – a boy and a girl. I cannot kill my own child. Why should I kill him?”

But Rilwan’s father, Olalekan, stated that his estranged lover never told him that their son was suffering from a heart-related ailment, claiming that the boy was killed.

The 32-year-old, who said he always gave Odubayo money for Rilwan’s upkeep, explained that his sister also assisted whenever he did not have money for his upkeep.

While lamenting that he regretted his relationship with the suspect, the technician said he never knew she had borne two children until she became pregnant for him.

He said, “I am a technician. I usually work at Abeokuta, Ogun State and it can take me weeks before I return to Lagos. Anytime I come back, I always give her money to take care of our child.

“She called me last week and asked where I was. I told her I was at Abeokuta and promised to see her when I came back. On Wednesday morning, I went to her house, but I did not meet her. I was leaving when her mother called me back.

“She directed me to her son, Taiye, who told me my son had died and had been buried in Ikorodu. I was shocked and wondered what could have happened to him.

“Meanwhile, there was a time the man (Taiye) confronted me for not coming to visit my son. He said if my son died, he would throw his body away. My son was killed. Why didn’t they allow me or my sister to see his corpse before he was buried?”

Olalekan stated that Folashade used to call him that Rilwan was admitted to a hospital, but said he would not meet her and the boy on getting to the hospital.

“If I called her on getting to the hospital, she would say my son had just been discharged. I would go home to check on the boy, but I would not see any sign of sickness in him. She forced me to pay N10,000 for the treatment. At times, she would collect N15,000 from me. She did that often,” he added.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said the suspect had been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for further investigation.

Prostitutes threaten to starve Nigerian policemen of sex

Sex workers in Anambra State have threatened to starve policemen who patronise them over alleged harassment and arrest of their colleagues in major cities of the state.

One of the sex workers, simply identified as Kaamsi, who claimed to be a leader of the group in Umunze in the Orumba South Local Government Area of the state, told Saturday PUNCH on Friday that her members in the state had decided to starve policemen.

Kamsi, a leader of the group of prostitutes, said they would commence the decision as from Monday next week.

She said, “These policemen constitute over 50 per cent of our customers, yet they come here at the garden to harass and intimidate us on daily basis.

“About two days ago, no fewer than 10 of our members here were arrested and taken to SARS office. They were maltreated and so dehumanised before they were granted bail and asked to pay through their noses before they regained freedom.

“This happens on daily basis here in Umunze, Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Ekwulobia, everywhere. So, we have decided that none of our members would ‘serve’ any policeman here in Umunze and the entire state.”

Asked whether the policemen came to them in their uniforms, Kamsi said, “We know them; we know almost all our customers. They don’t need to come to us in their uniforms to be identified.

“Brother, let me tell you, we get information here. All big men that come here, we know them up to their family level.”

Saturday PUNCH gathered that about a week ago, the Anambra Police Command raided brothels in various cities in the state and arrested no fewer than 120 persons.

Update: Waje’s former P.A spills more in new interview

Waje wrote an open letter on Instagram yesterday, advising young people seeking success and that it’s not as glamorous as they think.

Her post below:

Earlier today, we reported that her personal assistant had responded to the above post, saying she almost lost her life working with her.

See her post below:

The Personal Assistant, identified as Yvonne Imongan has now sat down for an exclusive with Tope Delano of Kokolife.ng as she opened up more on what really happened between her and Waje.

Read excerpts from the interview below:

Tell us your side of the story?

I have worked with her for a month. Today makes it a month I started working with her. When I got the job, initially she told me I was on probation, but she didn’t tell me I wasn’t going to be paid.  She told me I was going to have 50,000 for my first payment and after six months, she was going to increase my salary.

I started working with her and in between fell sick. I normally had ulcer. Working with there was very stressful but I didn’t complain about the stress, because it was my first time working as personal assistant. When I started the job, I feel sick and had internal bleeding because of the Ulcer.

She ordered for me to be taken to the hospital but there was no support. I kept mute about it. My friends encouraged me to quit my job but I didn’t listen and kept working. Before that, I wasn’t aware that I was going to write an exam, because I am a graduate. I got the information from my parents, telling me I was going to write an international exam.

I begged for the date to be shifted because I need to work, and it being my first month, I was expected to be active. It was then shifted. I asked her for a couple of days off for the exam but she replied no, adding that she couldn’t compromise. She also asked me if it was convenient for me. I told her that presently it wasn’t convenient because I had a lot of things to do, but I wasn’t quiting my job.

I wanted to be able to study and work, because I worked through all the busy schedules. She told me to go home, but I didn’t go home immediately because I was confused. When I eventually got home, I sent her a message asking her if I would get paid for the work I had done and she said “no, my dear”, because I was on probation.

Man busted after having 8 rounds of sex with a goat (Photo)

Some people will go to great lengths to be rich but one Beitbridge young man took it to “absurd” levels when he acted on the advice of a sangoma (in southern Africa a traditional healer or diviner) to have 10 rounds of sex with a goat to make the cash.

With just one round left — after completing nine — Kudakwashe Hondoro ran out of luck.

Community members who had been disturbed by the continuous bleating of the goat decided to investigate and busted Hondoro pants down in the act.

Speaking to B-Metro, Talent Mangwiro — who claims to have been one of the community members that caught Hondoro in the act — said at first they assumed the goat had been attacked by a wild animal.

“We were drinking around midday and we heard the bleating of a goat but initially ignored the sounds as we thought it had been caught by one of the wild animals since it’s common in our area,” he said.

The goat’s bleating would stop then start again periodically.

“The goat would bleat for a few minutes, let’s say 10 minutes, then we would not hear the sounds for a while only for the goat to start bleating again.

This went on for some time until we eventually decided to investigate and maybe possibly rescue the goat from whatever animal was attacking it,” added Mangwiro.

Instead of a wild animal attacking the goat, the villagers were stunned to find a man pleasuring himself —without protection.

“We were stunned and scared at the same time. Hondoro was having sexual intercourse with the animal. When he heard us, he did not try to run but only looked up at us probably trying to come up with a plan,” he said.

Then instant mob justice followed.

The perpetrator incensed the villagers when he couldn’t give an explanation why he was involved in bestiality acts with the animal.

B-Metro caught up with Hondoro whose comments left these journalists in awe.

“I was told by a sangoma to look for a black goat, which he instructed me to have 10 rounds of sex with. I did exactly that but other villagers disturbed the procedure as they caught me at the ninth round.

Now I have to look for that same goat and finish the job so that I become rich,” added Hondoro, who seemed quite disturbed and troubled.

Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi signs new long-term contract

Alex Iwobi has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal, the club announced on Friday.

Iwobi has been at the Arsenal academy since he was nine years old and already has 98 first-team appearances at the age of 22.

“I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us,” Emery said. “He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad.”

Iwobi is the latest of Arsenal’s younger players to commit their long-term futures to the club, following the likes of Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers, Rob Holding and teenage midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.

Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka also signed new deals this year, but Aaron Ramsey’s future remains in doubt as the Welshman has so far refused to accept an offer from the Gunners as he enters the final year of his deal.

Iwobi is the nephew of Jay-Jay Okocha and broke into Arsenal’s first team during the 2015-16 season and impressed with his blend of size, speed and playmaking ability. However, he struggled at times last season and has yet to add an end product to his game.

He has nine goals so far in his 98 appearances and his wasteful finishing has been a source of frustration among fans.

However, the new deal is a sign Emery hopes to help the Nigeria international develop, although he faces stiff competition for a starting place from the likes of Ozil, Ramsey and Henrikh Mkhitaryan this season.

“To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling and I hope I’m doing the Arsenal family proud,” Iwobi said. “The first kit that I had was Arsenal and long may I continue to represent them.”

Woman bites off husband’s penis after he caught her with her lover

A 45-year-old Indian woman identified as Jayanthi, has been arrested for biting off a chunk of her husband’s penis when he caught her with another man.

Her arrest came after villagers who rushed the bleeding husband along with the severed part of the penis to a hospital, informed the police. Senthamarai, 55, a farmer, and Jayanthi had taken part in a
village temple festival on Sunday as part of of the auspicious Aadi month festivities, police official Prakash Babu told AFP.

After the temple event, they went for a street play. Around 1.30am Jayanthi slipped out of the crowd on the pretext of needing to relieve herself. When Jayanthi failed to return more than an hour later, a worried Senthamarai went in search of her. He later found her in a compromising position with another villager, Dhatchanamoorthi.

An officer said: ‘Enraged, Senthamarai grabbed his wife and her lover and threatened to make their relationship public.

‘Noise from the festivities drowned out Dhatchanamoorthi’s cries for help. ‘In the scuffle that ensued, Senthamarai’s dhoti (trousers made of cloth) fell off. ‘Jayanthi, fearing she and her lover would be thrashed, wanted to escape before villagers reached the spot. ‘She bit his penis, severing part of it, and fled with her lover.’

Jayanthi was arrested after police tracked her down by monitoring Dhatchanamoorthi’s phone after they fled the village of Thuraimoolai near Gudiyatham. While Jayanthi who confessed to biting off her husband’s penis has been sent to Vellore Central Prison for women, it was further gathered that her husband is now recuperating in hospital.

A year ago, another husband ended up in the same Vellore hospital as Senthamarai after his wife reportedly chopped off his penis when he called her old. She was then said to have put it in her purse and hopped on a bus to see her parents.

Lady donates kidney to a stranger after seeing his wife’s plea on Facebook

lady donates kidney

A lady has given a New Jersey man another chance at life, as she donated her kidney to him, after seeing his wife’s plea for a donor on Facebook, even though she had never met him.

Bill English, 35 told People he received the sad news that his kidneys were failing in 2015, and he needed a new one to stay alive.

His wife Laura, 35 with whom he has two children aged 4 and 2 with, set up a Facebook page, then called: “Be Our Daddy’s Hero” to ask the public for a donor.

Laura told People:

“I was hopeful that it would work. I had to do something. We didn’t have anything to lose. When he first got listed [on the organ transplant registry], he was living life on a machine. To ask somebody to give a piece of themselves to keep him alive was a big ask. I was hopeful, but I didn’t necessarily think a stranger was gonna donate.”

The donor, Amy Pauvlinch, 28 of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after seeing Laura’s comment on a post about a man who walked around Disney World asking for a kidney donor and eventually found a match, soon found the “Be Our Daddy’s Hero” Facebook page and reached out.

Pauvlinch told People:

“I just knew that this is something that I had to do. Something in my heart was like, ‘This is the person you’re supposed to contact’. I ended up messaging her and I said, ‘I’d really like to give your husband my kidney.’ It was very, very awkward.”

Laura and Pauvlinch spoke for weeks and she later met the family. “I couldn’t even describe the experience. It was pretty surreal. When I first met them, was like, ‘This family’s gonna have my kidney!’ It was amazing… this is the family that I’m supposed to help and come hell or high water we’re gonna do this together. It was like magic,”Pauvlinch said.

After months of testing and preparation, Bill and Pauvlinch went into the operating room at Jefferson University Hospital for the transplant on July 3, 2018.

Bill said:

“She was a good match and, once we found that out, our level of hope and excitement grew. Mentally, I was prepared for the worst for years. Then all of a sudden it was happening. I didn’t know how to take it. I was too amazed. It hit me, like, ‘Oh my God! this is happening.”

Both of them are recovering fine, and according to People, they felt “great” after the surgery.

“It’s amazing. I feel like a whole new person. I felt good right away. Once I was out of the anesthesia, I was in the best mood I’ve been in in like three years,” Bill said.

“It’s so awesome and surreal, still, to know my kidney is in his body kicking so much ass for him!!” Pauvlinch wrote in an Instagram post earlier in July.
