The Nigerian Senate has resolved to investigate the circumstances surround the death of Miss Linda Angela Igwetu, the NYSC Corper who was allegedly shot by a Police Officer two nights ago.
Senator Atai Aidoko, citing Order 42 and 52, raised the issue, stating that while on her way home with her friends, the corper was shot and rushed to Garki hospital, Abuja but was not treated because they needed a police report.
Commenting on the Motion, the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, said:
“There are two issues here. One, is how could this have happened? How could the officer mistakenly or otherwise have shot in such a way that led to this young ladies death?
“Secondly, we have passed this Compulsory Treatment and Care of Victims of Gunshots Act, and the President assented to it on the 30th of December 2017.
“Until we start holding people accountable to these kinds of incidents, they will not stop. What is the point of us passing a Bill, and the President assenting to it, then it becomes law, and still, people will decide that they will not treat a patient.
“Is it that they are not well-informed? Is it that they were not aware that such a law exists? There are a number of issues that we need to address.
“Every Nigerian life is important. Especially young ones that are just about to start their own lives and careers. This is a loss that could have been avoided.”
The Senate resolved to:
Mandate its Committee on Youth and Sports to investigate the death of the NYSC Corper; mandate its Committee on Health to investigate the non-treatment of the patient, and; mandate its Committee on Police Affairs to investigate the cause of the incident.
All three Committees have been directed to report back to the Senate in 2-weeks.
A 27-year-old man identified as Paulos Amade from Orange Farm, South of Johanesburg, in South Africa, who lived a lavish lifestyle all his life and reportedly took his own life over a love tragedy, has been buried with lots of cash, cellphones, drinks and expensive clothes.
HE LIVED a lavish lifestyle all his life – and even in the grave he still had cash, cellphones and expensive clothes!
His friends and some family members poured beer into his grave and tossed in money, cellphones and expensive clothes as an expression of their love for the Skhothane King.
There was singing and dancing, drinking and crazy displays of riches as his friends celebrated his short life at Olifantsvlei Cemetery on Saturday.
According to a report by Daily Sun SA, the young man who is a father of three had committed suicide on Father’s Day by drinking beer laced with rat poison.
Photos which emerged online from his funeral ceremony showed how his friends and some family members poured beer into his grave and tossed in money, cellphones and expensive clothes as an expression of their love for him.
There was singing and dancing, drinking and crazy displays of riches as his friends celebrated his short life at Olifantsvlei Cemetery on Saturday.
It was gathered that at the cemetery where the man was buried, people were screaming, “Fakani futhi! Put more!” calling for clothes, cellphones and money to be thrown into the grave.
While speaking to a correspondent, Paulos’ sister, Jeannette Amade, disclosed that they knew Paulos as a man of style, so they let his friends celebrate him the way they wanted.
“We could not oppose the manner they wanted to celebrate him. When they poured beer and put money and clothes into the grave, we understood that it was the same way they did things when he was still alive,” she said.
Meanwhile, Refiloe Wa Ga Khunou, a cultural expert, said what the young people had done was pure disrespect.
“This undermines our culture. It is a meaningless publicity stunt created by people who seek fame,” he said.
“There is nothing respectful about people pouring beer into a dead person’s final resting place. If they wanted to celebrate him, they should have done it while he was still alive.”

A Federal High Court in Owerri has nullified wards, Local Government and State Congresses of the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The presiding Judge of the court, Lewis ordered for fresh congresses in the state.
Allagoa, in a judgment that lasted for an hour, ordered APC, “to be responsible, save our democracy by conducting free and fair congresses in Imo State.”
He dismissed a motion filed by the defendants, insisting that his court had jurisdiction to hear the matter.
According to him, the exhibits tendered by the plaintiffs suggesting that there was no ward congress in the state on May 5, “was factual.”
The judge said that the recorded “press interview between the state commissioner of police, the state governor, Rochas Okorocha and Senator Osita Izunaso that there was no APC ward congress in Imo State on May 5 “was justifiable in law.”
Allagoa cited a report of the Independent National Electoral Commission, which confirmed that there was no APC ward congress in Imo State on May 5.
The judge said, “APC should go and be responsible and save our democracy. The defendants and the plaintiffs are members of the same political party, APC. There is no victor, no vanquished.”
The plaintiffs, who are a faction of the party loyal to the state governor, had approached the court seeking, among other things, a “declaration that the ward congress of the APC in Imo State which was fixed for May 5 was inconclusive and did not hold, since there was no result therefrom.”

I’ve lived in Nigeria for 3 years and I’m not impressed. Everything is bribery and corruption!! Let’s not even talk about the government or the police yet, the people living here alone are mostly mad. If you’re not mad, you can’t function here.
So please if you know you’re normal, stay with Trump!! Do not listen to anybody’s advice to move back to Nigeria to make your country better. Your country is not ready to be better. Nigeria is not prepared yet. I know they said it starts from somewhere, don’t let it start from you. Let someone else lead before you put yourself in trouble.
This post is for people who constantly ask me would I advice them to move back. No I don’t, please live your best life in the abroad, your best life cannot be lived in Lagos. Even rich people leave the country to live their best life.
Buhari leaves Nigeria every other day because he’s tired of his country sef. He’s using the country’s funds to live his best life and I don’t blame the old guy honestly.
A Ghanaian Pastor identified as Pastor Tony Boateng is seen in a shocking video asking his congregation to pay before they can touch him.
The Pastor was on a ministerial visit to Nigeria and took to the Pulpit to ask his congregation to pay some amount of cash before they can touch him.
The video was shared on Twitter by @Im_Cutesunshine who wrote a lenghty post, talking about how Christians need to be careful about the church they attend.
She wrote:
Attention ! Attention !! All of you in search of christ should be careful with the kinda church you attend. Most of all these churches are just out to extort you and brainwash you. My brother attended a church today and trust me all the videos I’ve seen are terrible.
How do you tell a congregation to form lines for people with different denominations. Or tell them to bring 5k to heal their marriages. Or you tell them if they don’t have, they should borrow and when the Lord blesses them they should refund. Who are we really worshipping?
Or ask the people with their ATMs in their bags to come forward and queue for their account balance to increase. How do all these fake pastors and prophets even pull so much crowd ? Your members barely feed but you have a Benz in your fleet of cars. How exactly ?
I’m really not understanding. The so-called church in question is in Igando. All of you that stay in that vicinity should really be careful. They extort you of the little you have and you go home feeling manna is going to fall from heaven for you. Are you okay ?
I really hope we don’t learn the hard way because all these pastors are using churches as an avenue to enrich themselves. STOP BELIEVING EVERY FAKE PROPHESY. YOU CAN ALSO PRAY YOURSELF TO DELIVERANCE.
’ve been a victim of all these fake prophets and prophesies and never did I take any of them serious. They tell you all sorts to buy you Buh truly greater is he that is in me. Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer Buh you start with nothing.
I’m not even going to keep quiet on this one because I know how my life was almost ruined and a close family member took it very serious and thought the prophesies were real.
Please please and please let’s all be careful and very watchful.

Popular Nigerian singer, Duncan Mighty, has been called out on social media after he tried insinuating that he is an ex-student of the Nigerian Military School.
He was called out by former students of the Nigerian Military school, Zaria, for claiming to be an alumnus of the school, precisely 1993-1999 set.
It all started after the singer shared a photo of himsef with some men in military uniform and captioned it:
”Nigeria is blessed #XBOYFORLIFE. Bumped into my #Coursemates …. way back in Nigerian Military School Zaria. #99 set proudly bravo company #NMS #almamatter.
However, soon after the post, ex-students of NMS trooped to his page to drag him for claiming to be a former student of the school.
”Impersonator claiming to be what you are not, and this junior clowns are there misbehaving”. one ex student wrote.
The matter didn’t end there as the NMS class of 99, went as far as putting out a press release on their official Instagram page to further distance themselves from him and request that Duncan Mighty ”desist from posing as an alumnus for whatever reasons or benefits known to him”
Read the press release below:
PRESS RELEASE: DUNCAN WENE MIGHTY OKECHUKWU IS NOT AN EXBOY!
In response to the outrageously false allegations posted on the 2nd of July 2018, by one Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu simply known as Duncan Mighty via his Instagram handle @duncanmighty
The Nigerian Military School Class of 99 (Also known as NMS93) would like to express it’s disappointment with Mr. Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu’s claims and issue the following statement to the media and to the public.
1. Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu was never a member of the NMS Class he claims in his Instagram post which has since gone viral on social media platforms and the internet at large.
2. He was never a boy/student of Bravo Company.
3. He has never attended either academic or military trainings as required for a student of the Nigerian Military School,
4. He is not an Ex-Boy (By definition and implication, an Ex-Boy is an individual who was admitted, successfully completed required military and academic trainings and with merit graduated from the Nigerian Military school with a testimonial credential signifying same)
5. He is no course mate of any genuine member of the graduating class of NMS99 also referred ceremoniously as The 41st Passing Out Platoon.
The NMS93 Alumni Association humbly requests that Mr. Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu desist from posing as an alumnus for whatever reasons or benefits known to him.
The association would also like to register its displeasure with the photographic images of Mr. Duncan where he appears in military camouflage with the service rank of Captain while not well groomed and wearing earrings.
While his intentions might be for good and not self-serving, from our perspective we insist that posing as a soldier albeit an officer is “a disservice to the proud men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, who earn the right to wear their uniforms for the hard work and sacrifices made for our country.” The association warns that anyone relating with Mr Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu, under the impression that he is an alumnus of NMS99 does so at their own risk. *Please continue in the comment section*
The association however welcomes his interactions with genuine members of our Alma Mater and by large the military community of which we are also related to and wish him well in his endeavors. Accept the warmest regards of the association.
Nigerian actor and comedian, Williams Uchemba has helped the child who was pictured on the street selling Plantain at night to reunite with his family.
The actor posted on his Instagram page, in search of the child, any one who can get in contact with the child parent or guardians.
He wrote:
“Can someone please help me get to this child or his parents..I need a number or something…please.. whoever just took this picture should help me go back there..he is not suppose to be on the street”.
Few hours later, he found the child with the help of some Instagram Samaritans and the comedian took to his Instagram page to share the good news.
With the hopes of taking the young boy off the streets of Lagos, Uchemba made contact with the boy’s relatives and he found out the boy has been taken away from his parents by a woman who promised to give him education but instead she turned him into a money making machine by sending him into the streets of Lagos to hawk plantain.
The boy said he hadn’t eaten in three days and his parents weren’t aware of the fact that he hawks, he would also love to see his parents.
Uchemba promised to get him on the next flight to Akwa Ibom, which is the boy’s hometown and make sure to put him on scholarship.
See post below:
“So I had a video chat with Joseph, he is 10 years old and his from akwa Ibom state. He told me that he is living with a woman that took him from his parents in the village and promised that she will send him to school in Lagos because his parents couldn’t afford to train him, but when he got to Lagos instead of school the lady put him on the street to sell things and bring money back to her.
“I have tried to talk with the lady to have a better understanding of the situation but she doesn’t want to talk instead she said we can take the boy.
“I have spoken with Joseph and he said he wants to go back home and go to school because his parents who he hasn’t seen or spoken to doesn’t know that he is hawking in Lagos , and yes he hasn’t eaten in 3 days..
“Anyway I want to clean him up today and put him on the flight today to akwa Ibom with some people, know what the parents needs and put him on Scholarship with the help of God.
“He has a bright future( I can tell) and if not for anything kids his age are not suppose to be on the street but in school..he is one out of many and I can’t take all off the road alone so I urge you to help the ones you can when you see them”.

Tanzanian recording artist, singer songwriter and youth activist – Vanessa Mdee and her musician boyfriend Juma Jux are in trouble after kissing on stage during a performance.
The lovebirds who recently got back together early this year after breaking up for six months decided to spice things up on stage and President John Magufuli government is not impressed with the gesture.
While on stage performing, Jux and Vanessa knelt down and kissed passionately as the crowd cheered them on. The couple then posted a picture of the kiss on social media which is a direct breach of the strict regulations passed by the government that banned posting of cozy photos online.
While majority of fans gave positive comments on social media, Tanzania Communication Regulatory (Basata) went hard on them. According to Basata’s Chief Executive Godfry Mngereza, the picture was provocative and hence they will not turn a blind eye.
It is not clear what action will taken against the artist and her lover but the commission has warned other artists from posting such photos on their social media insisting that they will hunt them down for the sake of upholding morality.
Nigerian entertainer and human rights activist, Charly Boy has criticized the modern day Christianity being practiced in Nigeria today.
According to the Charly, Pentecostalism which is a brand of Christianity practiced in the country is nothing but fraud and an easy way to make money.
In Area Fada’s words ;
“I Decree now that my people are dying to believe in something, especially if it’s magical, because we have the messiah complex. Somebody out there, will come sooner than later, to make all our problems disappear. Na so. That is why we are paralysed and corrupted by fear, we can’t even stand up to injustice. We are waiting for God to come rescue us.
“Pentecostalism has promoted miracles over hard work, materialism over spirituality. Even if one goes into pastoring on a pure and innocent level, you can’t help but be corrupted by easy money when you sell hope and create enemies all over.
“It is a cool way to make a living and make decisions that bring in the cash. Pentecostalism na modern-day commercial enterprise garnished in the cloak of religion with deception and exploitation as its foundation.
“Their goal na the complete monetization of people’s ignorance. It remains the only legally and politically accepted movement completely based upon systematic fraud, deception and cheating.”
The spiritual director of Adoration Ministry in Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has described President Muhammadu Buhari as one who has been caged by the cabal in Nigeria.
The cleric said this during an exclusive chat with the publisher of SaharaReporters and 2019 presidential aspirant, Omoyele Sowore.
Fr. Mbaka said in parts ;
“Buhari meant well for the country but I can see Buhari as a man whose ideologies has been kidnapped, I can see somebody that is bemused, I can see a man that is confused, I can see Buhari in spite of his goodwill he has some people around him that his no ideology that is in tandem with his,”
“When I was telling Jonathan and Co, they can’t come back instead of believing, they started attacking me and God says the chair is vacant Buhari will take over, I never knew who Buhari was. They accused me of being sponsored by Buhari and God knows until now Buhari has never given me One Kobo.
“I Am not against his leadership because he has not given me anything, am only unhappy with him because he doesn’t want to make necessary changes.
“The much I know about Buhari is he meant well, but it’s too unfortunate that he is caged by people who are not telling him the truth.”
A 92-year-old woman has allegedly killed her son in Arizona because she did not want to be sent to an assisted living facility. Anna Mae Blessing was charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping after authorities found her 72-year-old son dead on Monday at their home in Fountain Hills.
Blessing hid two pistols in the pockets of her robe and shot her son several times in his bedroom, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. Her son’s girlfriend was also in the room and said she heard Blessing telling her son she was tired of the way he treated her, court documents said.
“From my understanding, she had thought about it for a few days because there was a dispute regarding her son wanting to put her in an assisted living home,” Maricopa County Sgt. Bryant Vanejas told CNN affiliate KPHO.
Blessing then pointed the gun at her son’s girlfriend, who struggled with her until she lost her grip of the gun. When Blessing pulled out the second pistol from her robe, her son’s girlfriend also knocked it out of her hand, the statement said. Once she was disarmed, Blessing sat on a reclining chair until deputies arrived and arrested her, officials said.
“As the suspect was being escorted from the residence, she made a spontaneous statement to the effect of ‘You took my life, so I’m taking yours,'” court documents said. Blessing moved in with her son and his girlfriend about six months ago, the affiliate reported.
She told deputies she had purchased one of the guns in the late 1970s and that her husband gave her the other pistol, court documents say.
Thousands of Chinese are pouring out their grief on social media following the death of a “psychic” cat, Baidian’er that correctly predicted the outcome of Nigeria and Argentina match at Russia FIFA World Cup.
The cat, bearing the name that means white spot in Chinese, also predicted the outcome of of five other World Cup games.
The orange-furred tabby was a stray cat that prowled around the Palace Museum in Beijing’s Forbidden City.
He was offered two bowls of food, with the flags of competing World Cup teams stuck in the ground behind them to make the predictions.
He achieved such fame that the Palace Museum even set up an account for him on China’s Weibo, a popular Twitter-like platform.
Unfortunately, Baidian’er’s correct prediction of an Argentinian win against Nigeria turned out to be his last.
The museum said the cat fell ill and finally announced its death on Monday, sparking almost 10,000 comments on Weibo.
“Every time I go to the Forbidden City, I have to go see Baidian’er, take a photo, play for a while, see him sleep on the grass in the sun,” wrote one distraught user.
“Go on living a happy life in Cat Heaven, I’ll see you again.”
It has not been a good week for animal prognosticators.
In Japan, an octopus caught in the northern region of Hokkaido correctly predicted the outcome of three of Japan’s World Cup matches, but like the Blue Samurai met an unfortunate fate.
Even before Japan qualified for the final 16, the octopus named Rabio was reportedly sold and turned into sashimi.
Rabio was following on from the most successful salty soothsayer, an Octopus named Paul who achieved global fame by correctly predicting eight 2010 World Cup games from his aquarium in Germany.
Paul became a worldwide media sensation, with his latter predictions covered by hordes of international media.
But Paul fell offside with his home fans after correctly predicting that Germany would lose to Spain. His aquarium received menacing letters threatening to turn him into a tasty dish.
In the stands, the honour of Paul’s mother was called into question and some sections of the crowd watching on giant screens in Berlin sang anti-octopus songs
A self-acclaimed traditional healer, Edem Bassey Otu, pictured above, who was arrested with two human skulls while allegedly preparing some cultists for an outing, has said the Police have no right to arrest him because the skulls they found in his shrine were left behind by his father, who died some eight years ago.
Bassey who was paraded before newsmen at the Cross Rivers state Police command yesterday July 4th, said he is a herbalist who treats people with different ailment and that he learnt the trade from his deceased father.
“I am a herbalist and I heal people of different sickness. I have my license to operate as a herbalist. Somebody ran in front of my house and the Police came to my house to arrest me. They have no right because I have been using these skulls for my job since my father left them for me some eight years ago” he said
Briefing newsmen on how the suspect was arrested, the state Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, said the command had received a distress call from an unknown number that some group of cultists were undergoing a fortification ritual and they immediately swung into action.
“On 27th June 2018 at about 1400hrs, we received a distress call from an unknown number that some group of cultists were undergoing a fortification ritual. Anti-cultism/kidnapping squad swung into action and arrested one Otu Edem Bassey of 12b Etim Edem Street while others took to their heels,” the Commissioner said.
Inuwa said items recovered from Bassey includes two human skulls, charms and other items used for incantation. He said the suspect would be charged to court after investigations have been concluded.
Yesterday, a youth corps member, Linda Angela Igwetu, who was meant to pass out today July 5th, was shot dead by a trigger-happy policeman in Abuja.
Miss Linda was out celebrating her passing out with her friends when the policeman shot the car she was in. She sustained gunshot wound and was rushed to Garki hospital but the hospital refused treating her because there was no police report authorizing them to treat her gunshot wound. She bled to death.
Falz, who is also a lawyer, says no hospital has the right to deny even an armed robber treatment.
Linda Angela Igwetu
In his words ;
If somebody has a gunshot wound and they are brought to your hospital, you are supposed to treat them, not ask for any f*cking police report.
Even if na suspected armed robber, Who are you to deprive them of the right to stay alive? Let the court pass judgment.
