Another Nigerian man has been killed in South Africa. The Nigeria Consulate-General in South Africa said the deceased identified as Ozumba Tochukwu-Lawrence, was shot dead at 10 Koppe, Middleburg, Mpumalanga, South Africa, on July 6th.
His attackers were said to have trailed him, shot him six times and left him in a pool of his blood. He died while he was being rushed to the hospital.
“The reason behind the sad incident is yet to be established, but this is very unfortunate and condemnable,” the Consulate-General said.
The Consulate commiserated with the deceased’s family and indeed, the entire Nigerian community in South Africa.
The Consulate also called on the South African relevant authorities to unravel the mystery behind this dastardly act.
“Efforts should be made by the Police and other relevant agencies to apprehend the assailant and bring him to justice.
“We also call on our nationals to cooperate with the police and judicial officers in their investigation and prosecution.
“The Nigerian Consulate will continue to advance the welfare and security of Nigerians in South Africa.
“We also call on our citizens to remain calm and eschew violence, as we seek to obtain justice for the deceased and members of his family,” he said.
Actress, Adesua Etomi earlier this evening shared a short video of herself dancing at an event, looking all shades of lovely in her outfit and quite happy too.
It’s rather unfortunate that an Instagram user didn’t share this happiness with her and saw the time right to troll her for not being pregnant yet.
Nollywood actor Ayo Badmus in a new interview with Sunday Scoop, has opened up on his life as a Father.
According to the actor, he does not show emotions even to his kids.
Excerpts from the interview below:
How would you define fatherhood?
Fatherhood means responsibility. It is being a father to your children, a head of the house and a person who takes responsibility for everyone in the home. A father is like an umbrella where every other member of the house takes shade.
How did you meet your wife?
I met her the way every other person meets their spouses. I was with a friend when I saw her, she was far off and because she is light-skinned, I could spot her and I kept staring at her. When she noticed I was looking at her, she was also looking my way. I later went to meet her and that was how we started.
When did you have your first child?
I had my first child in 2001.
How old were you when you had him?
I won’t disclose my age to you. If I tell you the age I had my first child, it would be easy for you to guess my age. All I would say is I am in my early 50s; so, calculate it yourself.
Do you think you started having children late?
Yes, I would say I started late. I was not settled and did not understand woman as of then. I was scared of being committed to a relationship. Whenever my girlfriends talked about marriage in those days, I would run away; that was usually the end of such relationship. I was scared of settling down and my mother got angry with me when I refused to settle down. I couldn’t explain my fears to her then before I eventually started a family.
What were your fears?
I was scared that I would be caged and all I would be hearing in the house was ‘good morning sir’. I found it scary. I come from a very beautiful and peaceful family which I ought to emulate but I did not know the reason for my fears.
Were you there when your wife was delivered of your first child?
No. I was in Nigeria while she was in England.
Did you get emotional when you carried your baby?
I felt good and happy but I am not an emotional person. I am not just naturally emotional. I just carry them and play with them. It took a while before I bonded with my children and began to express my emotions which I should have done earlier. It’s not like I had issues with the baby. The problem was just with me.
Did you help with the house chores?
No, I am often not usually needed in that aspect. I am very lucky with that. The women I have been involved with are often very strong. My wife would have done most of the house chores and even when I offered to help out, she wouldn’t just allow me. Women are stronger than men. She would have done everything and I only went out to buy things for the family for all to be happy.
Do you believe that men should go out to work while women should stay in the house?
I don’t believe in that. Men should work and women should also work and it should be properly sorted out in a way that it won’t affect the children. Women are very intelligent; let us forget western education. A woman should bring something to the table but the man should not forget that whatever the woman brings is an addition to the family. Women often carry the responsibility of the home and they support in whatever way they can. They play a good role in supporting the home. At times, they don’t even let you know when they are performing those responsibilities.
How many children do you have?
I have two boys.
Do you wish you had a girl?
Yes, I still want a girl. I want to carry the girl. The love I had been unable to express to the boys, I want to shower her with all the emotions. I will name her after my mother and sing for her; dance for her and all that. My mother gave me some songs before she died and I want to sing them for my girl child.
How do your discipline your children?
I correct before I take any hard measure which I often do not have to take. It is when they don’t listen to me that I now smack. I hardly smack them. I talk to them and lead by example. I let them know that I was very tough while I was much younger. I tell them stories why they should not go astray. I also do not shout on them because whenever I do, they often shiver and I don’t want that.
Some believe that being gentle on male children can make them stubborn. How would you react to that?
That is true, but like I said, I was tough as a child having grown up on Lagos Island. I went through a lot. In fact, I didn’t know I could attain this feat in life. I don’t know where those we grew up together are at the moment. Thankfully, when I was 11 years, my elder sister took me from my parents’ place to hers and retrained me for me to become what I am. I inspire my children with my story. Male children can be taught. It is not about beating, it is by showing example. One shouldn’t get tired of telling their children their stories.
What lessons would you want your children to learn from you?
I am not a religious person but I want my children to know God because that is the only thing that can save them from the vices in this generation.
How do you appreciate your children when they make you proud?
Like I said earlier, I am not an emotional person. When they do well, especially in their academics, deep down inside of me, I am happy but I don’t know how to express it. We are just a normal family.
Do you discuss relationships with them?
We talk about everything and they also ask me questions. If they ask me things that I can answer, I do. I make them know that I have been there before and there is nothing new in whatever they are passing through. We talk about things and I help them proffer solutions to whatever problem they have.
What special thing has your wife and children bought for you?
Nothing, and sincerely I haven’t bought anything special for them. I love them and they love me too, we hang out once in a while, we are just a cool family. I am not an emotional person; maybe, they are following my examples. Hopeful, I will surprise them one of these days.
What do you think you should have done better as a father?
I should have married the mother of my child and kept my family in one place. I believe I would have been a better father if I can keep all my family together.
What has fatherhood taken away from you?
Fatherhood has taken my freedom from me. I usually love to disappear for a while and come back whenever I want but fatherhood has taken all that from me. I cannot do whatever I like. I have to check the effect on my children. For example, I can’t do fraud because I don’t want to bring shame on my children.
How do you combine your life as an actor and father?
It is quite easy for me because I have been an actor before I became a father. Acting is a profession that takes one away from one’s family. Make your family understand your kind of work and the nature of the job. Once they do, it makes things easy for you.
What difference have you noticed in the movie industry when you started and now?
The technicality has changed. The packaging has really improved – the colour, sound and all have largely progressed. Even we, the actors, are improving on ourselves. Even those who do not have the skills are developing themselves. They are acquiring the needed skills.
What is the major challenge in the nation’s movie industry?
The major challenge of the nation’s movie industry is funding. When you have great ideas, there is no money to execute it. If we do not get the required fund for a project, we manage and you can see the effect of such in a movie. We have to cut some critical scenes in a movie because we cannot afford what is takes to shoot such scenes.
What is your advice to aspiring fathers?
I will like to tell them that fatherhood is not a joke; it is a serious business. It takes one’s freedom away from one. It means being responsible for a lifetime. Don’t rush into any marriage when you are not ready. Be convinced that you are ready to do it. When you start, there is no going back. It is a route of no return. As soon as you enter into it, you take up an entirely different life.

According to Daddy Freeze, Mark paid no tithes or first fruit to achieve that. He wrote;
“Third richest man in the world, no tithes, no first fruit, no seeds to Pentecostal principalities, no money given to pastors for prayers.
This year alone he has given &3.58 billion to charity.
Non of the top 10 richest in the world are tithe payers or even Pentecostals.
God doesn’t need your money, the poor do! If you want to give money to God, give to the poor, NOT TO PASTORS! Mat25:32-41 explains this clearly!
There is NOWHERE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT where Christians were told to give money to pastors, or the church, the New Testament giving went to the poor, yours too should go there as well!
Tithing is the law Heb7:5 if you practice some parts of the law without practicing all of it it brings a curse Gal3:10 and you fall away from God’s grace Gal5:4.
Stop paying tithes to pulpit bandits, it attracts a curse and cuts you away from Christ, little wonder Jesus or the disciples never collected it! ~FRZ

An upcoming singer identified as Analike Okezie (Yoko B), has accused popular singer, 2baba of stealing his song, Amaka.
Recall that 2baba recently released a song titled, Amaka. On the track, the singer sang about a certain Amaka who disappointed him after promising him that she would come to his house.
On the song featuring DMW’s Peruzzi, the singer narrated how he had made arrangements such as buying diesel and alcohol, only for the girl to fail to turn up.
Meanwhile, in Yoko B’s version, the singer also sang about how Amaka broke his heart after she claimed to love him. The beat of the two songs also sound similar.
According to reports from Sunday Scoop, Yoko B said:
“Right now, I am fed up with some of the top artistes in this country.
“Once they are up there, they can never help you grow. They prefer to rip you off and frustrate your hustle.
“The new song, Amaka, by 2baba featuring Peruzzi is my concept. The song was produced by Richie, who also did the chorus of the song.
“Shortly after producing my song, Richie was employed by Larry Gaga and he left FESTAC Town for Lekki where he worked with 2baba.
“My songs were still on his computer at that point. I was shocked when I discovered that they had ‘stolen’ the title, concept and message of my song.
“I released my version about five months ago and I have been trying to promote it with the little resources I have.
“I was already negotiating with Avalon Okpe to direct the video when 2baba released his version.
“I feel bad that they cheated me because I am an up-and-coming artiste. I want the world to know what has been done to me.”
On whether he had made his grievances known to Richie personally, Yoko B said: “Yes, I complained to him but he didn’t say anything reasonable. He said anybody can come up with the title, Amaka.
“But I wonder why the concept and instrumental of the songs are so similar if something isn’t fishy.
“I am sure that somehow, 2baba must have heard the song. To cover their tracks, 2baba’s version was produced by another producer, Sperochbeatz, but they all work in the same studio.”
However, when Sunday Scoop contacted Richie, a person who claimed to be his manager answered the call and threatened their correspondent not to publish the story.
He said: “The guy (Yoko B) is just looking for cheap fame. I am Richie’s manager and I know about the whole story. We really don’t have anything to say concerning the matter.
“He should go anywhere in the world concerning the issue. For your own good, I would advise you not to publish the story. I don’t know if Yoko B has the power to finish what he has started.”
When contacted, 2baba’s manager, Efe Omoregbe, stated that he was unaware of the allegation.
He said: “This is the first time I’m hearing about that claim and I cannot comment on what I don’t know about.”
The elder sister of Linda, a corps member due to pass out last Thursday who was shot dead in a vehicle by a Policeman in Abuja on Wednesday has shared the grief of her family with The Punch.
See excerpts from the interview she had below:
What can you say about your sister’s death?
She worked with an American company in Abuja. After work on Tuesday, she went out with her colleagues to celebrate the end of their last day at work since the following day was their passing-out having completed the National Youth Service Corps scheme.
On their way around Ceddi Plaza, a policeman shot at their car. The male colleague, who was driving, said they didn’t see any ‘stop and search’ point mounted by the police and they were playing a loud music in the car since they were in celebration mood. The guy said he heard a sound but he thought it was his car tyres and that when he didn’t feel anything strange as he was driving, he continued. I learnt that she later tapped the guy driving to say that the police had shot at them. They were surprised when she said that and that they looked back only to discover that she had been hit by a bullet and was bleeding.
What did they do afterwards?
They rushed her to Garki Hospital. But when they got there, they were told to deposit N50, 000 before they could commence treatment on her. The colleague said they told them that they didn’t have cash on them and that he had lost his ATM card. He pleaded with them if he could do an online transfer to them but they declined. After pleading, they accepted but by the time they agreed to attend to her, it was too late. She died in the process.
There was a report that the policeman heard a shout from someone in the car. How would you react to that?
Nothing like that happened; there was a loud music in the car, so the police couldn’t have heard if someone shouted from the car. It was not a case of kidnap. I know the colleague, so how would her colleagues kidnap her? Even the police have said it was not true. They said it was not a case of kidnapping but homicide.
How did you hear about her death?
The colleague called me while they were in the hospital.
Do you all live in Abuja?
No, our parents and other siblings are based in Lagos while she stayed with me in Abuja.
What is your parents’ reaction to the case?
They are saying that they want justice.
Where is the corpse?
Her body is at the Garki General Hospital.
What kind of person was your late sister?
She was a very nice girl, third of four children and was full of life. She was a jolly good fellow filled with positive vibes, always friendly and ready to help. She desired to be an air hostess. She was even planning to attend an aviation school in January. Her dreams had been wasted and an innocent life was cut short.
What school did she graduate from?
She studied Geography at the University of Lagos.
What step is the family taking at the moment?
We are going to court. We must get justice for the innocent blood that was shed.
Nollywood Actor, Aremu Afolayan has wowed many with his temper on social media after he cursed at a troll who had called him ‘senseless.’
He not only cursed the troll, he also cursed his mother.
According to the actor, he usually doesn’t respond to trolls, but this one in particular seems to have gotten to him to have gone as far as cursing the troll’s mother.
Aremu wrote on his page:
@gistmyne I have never ever replied no one in my life on platform like this but on this one, AIYE IYA E ONI DA. Morope werey nse werey e. EMI NIWO FE RAN. WON MA RAN IYA E NIBI TI OBA WA. Send me your pics, number and address . @wumitoriola jo ma gbami ooo.
… the language he used is quite strong, so get your Yoruba friends to translate for you if you want …
Many were of the stance that since he usually doesn’t respond to trolls, he ought to have done the same for this one too and ignored the person.
Maybe the word ‘senseless’ really triggers him in a bad way.
A few days ago, singer, Damilola Afolabi, aka LAX, was in the news for the wrong reason.
He was reported to have granted an interview to an online medium where he claimed that Kenyan singer, Victoria Kimani, is the ‘love of his life’.
Shortly after that, Kimani took to social media to debunk his claims. She wrote on Instagram, “Lies and corruption.”
However, in an exclusive chat with Sunday Scoop, LAX denied saying that Kimani was his girlfriend.
He said, “It was a misconception. I granted an interview and I said she (Kimani) was my ‘Woman Crush Everyday’. I didn’t say she was my girlfriend. She’s my friend and we are cool; I even have a song with her on my forthcoming album. However, with what happened, I think I need to change my crush. I am actually not in a relationship at the moment. The major quality I look out for in a woman is someone who is understanding.”
Speaking on his recent song Nobody, in which he featured Wizkid, Afolabi said, “It has been doing really well. As a matter of fact, it is number eight on the charts right now. I’m grateful to Wizkid for ‘jumping’ on the track with me; it was really great and people are loving it. All the songs Wizkid and I have worked on together have turned out to be great hits; that shows that we have good chemistry between us.”
The Gbefun singer also stated that his debut album was nearing completion. “I have been recording for a while and the album will be released before the end of the year. However, I will be putting out a single next week. Some of the artistes I worked with on the album are Davido, Wizkid and Ycee,” he said.
According to him, the biggest lesson he has learnt in his career is to stay in the studio and keep recording until a hit song comes. The singer also stated that things have been better for him since he left Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment.
He said, “I have gained more support since I started out on my own. I feel stronger now because I constantly have to make business decisions.”
Reacting to those who still see him as an up-and-coming singer, Damilola said, “That is their opinion. My true fans and objective know my worth in the industry.”
A 35 year old single mother of two has been arrested by the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) in Abeokuta for allegedly impersonating as a Medical Doctor.
With her major source of livelihood as a foodstuff trader, the suspect whose highest educational qualification was as an auxiliary nurse, allegedly fooled her neighbors in the Oluwo area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, that she is a Medical Doctor attached to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
Upon interrogation, here is what she had to say;
“My name is Mercy Duru Ezinne. I am a 35-year old mother of two, living in Oluwo area, here in Abeokuta. I am into food stuff trading but trained as an auxiliary nurse in Aba. People in community take me for a medical doctor because I always go there to see some of my friends. I am also trying to see if I can further my education in their school of nursing.
“Three weeks ago, one of my neighbors, who is also my patient, introduced Mr. Hassan Olawale to me. Since I didn’t know what was wrong with him, I referred him to a laboratory where the result revealed that he has heart problem and infection.
“I told him (Hassan) to call his doctor, one Raji, who said his heart is not too bad for transplant but needs a life support machine which will cost #10million. Out of pity, I asked the doctor if there is no other way out. His response shocked me. He retorted that if I like him, I can as well give him my heart, for which I told him I can sacrifice mine for him.”
It was gathered that luck ran out of the suspect as she thereafter, collected the sum of N400,000 from the victim and “bought the drugs that are sensitive to his laboratory result, such as Rocephine Injection and drip”.

Fiery Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, has said that President Muhammadu had performed worse than the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan in every area.
He said Buhari ws just a common man and wondered why people seem to be afraid just because the President had a team of illiterate fanatical followers.
Gumi said Buhari was a victim of ignorant, unemployed and senseless followership that stiffle other politicians.
Definitely, the situation now is worse. The economy is worse. Feeding is a problem; medical care is a problem. There are problems everywhere. Nigeria is down. Nobody is secure. The honest people in government have pulled out.
Look at what a governor said recently; that he was resigning his position as the Chief Security Officer because he is helpless. Another governor said we have to face the fact that there is a problem in Nigeria. We can’t deny that.
“Buhari is just a common man. He is just an ordinary one man in Nigeria. We cannot be hypocrites, hiding facts because of a man.
“Why are people shivering because of him because he has a team of illiterate, fanatical followers? We can deal with them. They should not hold us to ransom. He is a victim of this ignorant, unemployed and senseless followership.
“When politicians see that, they become frightened. We won’t succumb to that. Let’s do what is right. Put the right Nigerians to lead us, if not, we will destroy ourselves. We cannot be victims to these rascals.
“When you try to correct the president, they come out in their millions trying to abuse you. They don’t even counteract your points with knowledge. If you think abusing us will deter us, you are making a mistake.
“There is problem with and in the government. We have absolute failure in government. People are dying, things are not good. We cannot continue this way.
Asked why he had not visited the Villa to advice the President, the cleric added, “I cannot get to the other room with him because I am not his wife but even somebody who has access to the other room cannot get ideas into his head.
“How do you blame somebody who does not have access to the other room? You cannot change Buhari. He is already cast in a mentality. He believes that most Nigerians, if not all, are rascals, thieves and 419.
“He believes only his own circle are the good people. You cannot get across anything. He has castigated Nigerians in many fora and everybody knows that. He is somebody who always blames others; he does not take responsibility for anything.”

In an exclusive chat with Gold Myne Correspondent, the actor explained why he had to wait for complete 15 years before he took his wife to the altar.
His words: “I had the money to do my white wedding; I had done the traditional wedding years ago. But I told my wife that I would like my children to be on the bridal train on the day of our wedding. I wanted my last child to clock five-year-old before the wedding.
“Also, when we planned to have our white wedding earlier, her mother was a bit sick. I wanted the mother to be there because of my intimacy with her family members, but each time we planned it, the mother fell ill. When we eventually decided to do it and everything had been concluded, she died. I felt it was how God wanted it.”

One Mercy Duru Ezinne, 35, a single mother of two, has reportedly been arrested for allegedly impersonating as a medical doctor.
It’s being reported that Mercy, whose highest educational qualification was as an auxiliary nurse, allegedly fooled her neighbors in the Oluwo area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, that she is a medical doctor attached to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, and had been living on that until recently when she met her doom.
She has become a guest of operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) in Abeokuta.

Meanwhile, the ailing Hassan, currently in a critical condition in a private hospital within the Government Reserved Area (GRA), Ibara, also in Abeokuta, has reportedly cried out to the effect that his condition has been deteriorating ever since the suspect began to treat him since three weeks ago, adding that he had so far parted with #400,000 to her for treatment.
Mercy spoke with Crimepuzzle, saying,
“My name is Mercy Duru Ezinne. I am a 35-year old mother of two, living in Oluwo area, hear in Abeokuta.
He retorted that if I like him, I can as well give him my heart, for which I told him I can sacrifice mine for him”, Mercy narrated.
The suspect thereafter, collected #400,000 from the victim and, according to her, “bought the drugs that are sensitive to his laboratory result, such as Rocephine Injection and drip”, adding that, “Though, I am being accused of giving him Zolades Injection, which works for fibroid and hormonal health imbalances. That is untrue”.
Mercy has consequently suggested taking Hassan before her German doctor in Accra, Ghana, and asked the family to raise money for the trip.
However, the state Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed, was obsessed by the development and has ordered that the suspect be charged to court.
