There was a bizarre turn of event recently as a Nigerian man who voluntarily went to a hospital to donate his blood collapsed as it didn’t quite work out as he anticipated.
After the blood donation, the young man collapsed and instead of giving him his blood back, he was asked to pay a whole sum of #7000 for his “just donated blood”.

I’m really tired of Nigeria, my friend fainted as we were leaving the hospital after donating blood for free. He is fine now, all he had to do was pay 7 thousand Naira to get his blood back. I kid you not, this country is MAD.

The police in Niger State have confirmed that about 200 prisoners escaped in a jailbreak after armed attackers stormed the Minna Medium Security Prison on Sunday night. .
One official was killed and about seven prisoners rearrested, the prison authorities had said. Although the prison authorities are yet to provide details of the escaped inmates, the police in Niger provided the some details. .
The police on Monday said they have taken measures to ensure the arrest of the 200 prisoners that escaped from the prison. .
Dibal Yakadi, the Commissioner of Police in Niger, said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that only 19 out of the 219 prisoners that escaped were arrested.
“We are working in collaboration with other security agencies in Niger State to make sure that we re-arrest the runaway inmates.
The police has embarked on stop and search for all vehicles and also engaged personnel on motor and foot patrol to ensure that we apprehend these inmates,’’ he said.

Nigeria’s footballing legend Nwankwo Kanu has been robbed on the way to Kaliningrad in Russia, according to reports.
According to TASS Russian News Agency, it was reported that US$11,000 (approximately N4m) was stolen from the former Arsenal striker while he was traveling from London to Moscow.
Kanu’s final destination was Kaliningrad, the city that will host the Super Eagles World Cup opener against Croatia on June 16.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has said a four-year tenure is too small for anyone in public office to deliver because there are many plans of things to deliver that will take time.
Osinbajo said this in an interview at the Financial Times Nigeria Summit held in Lagos.
According to the transcript of the interview made available to journalists on Saturday, the Vice President said:
“I think that for anyone who is in office, it (four years) would be too small because obviously, you have all manner of plans and things to deliver. But my take is that the moment you have the right people and you put the right structures in place, you can do a lot, and I think we have been blessed with an incredibly good team,”
He said the present administration wanted to farther ahead in terms of manufacturing. He however described them as infrastructure constraints that cannot be developed overnight.
This, he said, was why the government was investing heavily in infrastructure; rail, road and power.
The VP added:
“This is the significant part of the investment that we are doing; concessioning the Lagos-Kano to General Electric, the narrow gauge, developing the standard gauge is important in terms of just movement of goods and all that.
“A lot of these initiatives would be a great help in moving goods.”

A 35-year-old mother identified as Mrs. Chika Okoye with her son, Samuel, and his friend, Dan Abah, have been arrested by the operatives of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Nasarawa State for examination malpractice.
The sober mother who spoke to newsmen after her arrest, revealed that she hired Abah to write her son’s matriculation exam because her son couldn’t get admitted for many years.
“We couldn’t get admission for many years so I became frustrated; he was also frustrated and nobody is helping us.
“I have other children who have graduated but for the past four years or more now, he (Samuel) has failed to pass the exams, so I became frustrated.”
“So, I asked his friend to help him to write the exams, I told him I will give him something but I know it is a very bad thing. Please, forgive me sir, I was so frustrated,” Chika pleaded.
The state’s commandant, Mohammed Gidado-Fari, who also spoke to newsmen, disclosed that Abah was caught writing the JAMB examination at the Command Secondary School Lafia over the weekend on contract, as it was gathered he was to be paid an unspecified amount of money after her son passed the examination.
Punch reported that the commandant also paraded a 32 year-old man, Mr. Obey Samuel who beat his biological mother into a coma without provocation.
“Samuel was arrested on Monday for beating his biological mother to a state of coma without any provocation,” he stated.
While interviewed, Samuel denied beating his mother, saying, “I did not beat her but I know that when I come back from a night club at that time, I was drunk, I just locked her up in her room.”

The demolition was led by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Kaka Shehu Lawan and Commissioner for Land & Survey, Sugun Mai Mele and staff of the ministry and a high-Powered Committee set up by the Borno State Government to demolish Illegal structures as more than ten hotels in Baga road were demolished yesterday.
The hotels which are located behind the Baga Timber Shed include: Barka Da zuwa 1 & 2, Loyal City, Make We Flex, Favour land and Maintenance hotel, among others
According to residents of the area, apart from being a hide out for criminals and young drug peddlers, it is also notorious for cult-related activities in the state, as some unknown cult groups converge in this axis for their nocturnal meetings.
A local Baby Factory was also discovered in the area where young girls between the ages of 16 and 18 freely submit themselves to marriage to some miscreants, who marry as many as four wives and keep them in an abandoned building where they produce children that are left uncarted for. The building, according to residents, is notorious for hosting naming ceremonies every blessed day.
Thousands of youths in the area who expressed happiness over the demolition, commended the Borno State Government for the exercise, saying the demolition will bring sanity to the area and rid it of crime, prostitution and drug related activities, which put the lives and future of children in the area in jeopardy.

The high ranking Police officer took to his Twitter page recently to share that if a couple don’t know each other’s ATM pins, then their relationship is not serious.
He says if either of the couple is not willing to share their PIN with the other, then one should pray to God for their better half.
The Assistant commissioner wrote,
Husband and wife that does not know each other’s ATM card PIN are still doing boyfriend/girlfriend runs.
Ask your spouse for his/her PIN now. If he/she is not willing to tell you, start praying to God to give you your own better half.
