An Auto website, AutoJosh, has put together 10 things you need to know about Davido’s latest addition, the N9.7billion private jet.
The singer himself shared the news on Social media, that he’s acquired a Private Jet, and it’s set to land Nigeria in 2 weeks.

The trending news is that Nigeria’s music star, Davido, just acquired a private jet, specifically a Bombardier Challenger 605.
He posted an Instagram video of a receipt that bore some details of the aircraft. From what was captured from the receipt, the aircraft he acquired is a Challenger 605.
The musician also suggested in his post that the private aircraft is expected in the country in two weeks’ time.
Though the confirmation of the story is still very sketchy, however, here are a few things you need to know about the Challenger 605.
1. The Bombardier Challenger 605 business jet is produced by Bombardier Aerospace.
2. The CHALLENGER 605 was Introduced in 2006 as an upgrade to the Challenger 604.
3. The 605 offers several upgrades to the 604, including upgraded instrumentation to the Collins Proline 21 Avionics, a rounder tailcone, and larger cabin windows.
4. The Challenger 605 is a super midsized private jet that claims to match the operating costs of small aircraft.
5. It can achieve a high speed of 870 km/h (470 ktas) or 785 km/h (424 ktas) for long range cruise, and has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles (7,408 km). With a cabin length of 25 feet, 7 inches (7.80 m).
6. it can accommodate 10 passengers in a standard configuration.
7. According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association roughly 30 to 40+ of these aircraft (or it’s predecessors) have been sold each year for the past 15 years.
8. A brand new Bombardier Challenger 605 sells for approximately N9.7billion ($27m).
9. A “tokunbo” (used) 605s currently sells for about N5.4Billion ($15m) for 2008 vintage aircraft.
10. The total annual cost of maintaining a Bombardier Challenger 605 is about N1.3billion ($3,481,595) including market depreciation of ($1,240,920) or $5,342,974 including book depreciation of $3,102,300. Both figures include fixed costs per year of $724,861.

Ubi Franklin has reacted to the allegation leveled against his artiste, Tekno by veteran music duo, Mad Melon and Mountain Black, popularly known as Danfo Drivers.
The duo accused the singer of sampling their song ‘Jogodo’ without their consent or even reaching out to them.
Ubi in his reaction, said his team contacted the duo but it was one story or the other from them.

Recall that veteran music duo, Mad Melon and Mountain Black popularly known as ‘Danfo Drivers’ have finally reacted to Tekno’s latest song ‘Jogodo’.
They allege Tekno sampled their 2008 song ‘Kpolongo’ to make the song without their consent.
According to the veterans, Tekno sampled their material without their consent or even reaching out to them and they are quite angry.
In an interview with Wazobia TV in Lagos, they said they have come to Lagos to hunt for Tekno and collect the money/royalties he owes them for sampling their song without permission.
Tekno and his management are yet to react to this as at press time..

The DMW Record label boss took to his Twitter page to announce to his millions of fans that he has reportedly become one of the youngest private jet owners in Nigeria.

A Nigerian migrant identified as Evans William, has revealed how he sold everything to make the trip to Europe.
In a chat with BBC’s Colin Freeman, William said he sold his bed, fridge, TV, spare clothes and mobile phone. After borrowing yet more cash, he finally had enough to pay a smuggling gang to take him from Nigeria across the Sahara to Libya.
In all, it cost him $1,000, but he wasn’t worried. Once in Europe, he figured, he could quickly earn enough to pay off his creditors, and eventually return home to start a business of his own.
It didn’t quite work out like that. After six miserable months in Libya, where the gang forced him to work for nothing, he finally boarded a rickety boat to cross the Mediterranean.
It got stopped by the Libyan coastguard, who threw him and 140 other passengers into a detention centre. By then he’d had enough. He has now returned home to Benin, Edo State, among hundreds of migrants staying in a government-requisitioned hotel.

Singer Davido has reacted to reports that he unfollowed former BBNaija reality TV star, Tobi Bakre on social media.
Speculations emerged when a picture of the singer, his girlfriend Chioma and Cee-C surfaced showing them all in a private jet.
They were on their way from Abuja where Chioma went to sign an endorsement deal purported to be in tune of a hundred million Naira.
Reports have it that the moment the picture was shared on social media, many fans quickly snooped and discovered that Davido has started following Cee-C whom he claims resembles his girlfriend due to their use of long eyelashes and chocolate complexion.
Snooping further, the fans discovered that the singer is not following Tobi Bakre, the BBNaija housemate whom he canvassed support for during the show.
Such development made the fans think he ditched Tobi because he likely has a deal with Cee-C concerning Chioma’s coming cooking show.

The Minister of state for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah, has disclosed plans by the Federal government to introduce a new policy change that will see undergraduates go for an extra year of studies before embarking on the mandatory one year NYSC exercise.
According to Anwukah, this has become necessary because many university graduates are not good enough to be employed by industries.
He said the proposal was similar to the extra year currently being undertaken by law and medical students.
The Minister said this at a two-day retreat for governing councils of federal universities in Abuja yesterday May 8th.
“The universities are producing products that are not matching the needs of the industries.
“I urged the Committee of Pro-chancellors and Committee of Vice-Chancellor to end the decline in the standard of education.
Law students attend Law School for one year before going for NYSC and medical students go for one year Housemanship before they are allowed to practice fully, so it will be necessary for other courses to also go through this process.
“The Lagos Business School can also serve as a one-year after-school training” he said
