#BBNaija: “Why I like Cee-C” – Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson writes

Lydia Forson has taken to social media to share why she is drawn to controversial housemate, Cee-C and how her personal battles reflects some of the realities many viewers deal with.

The infamous housemate is kinda gathering support from some celebrities, despite a wide backlash from other viewers of the show for her attitude towards Tobi.

One of these celebrities that have shown support, is Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson.

She wrote on her page,

“I love Big brother because it forces us to have conversations we’d usually never have and expose our own understanding of people and the world around us.

Last year it was on sexual consent and this year is on anger management.

What people don’t appreciate is while you’re entertained, these housemates are confined to a space , forced to interact with people they’d never in the outside world and pushed to limits only those who’ve been a part can appreciate,” she wrote.

She continued,

“For those who stay true to themselves they’re forced to come face to face with who they really are, stare at the ugliest parts of themselves and made to confront them in the rawest way. It’s probably the hardest thing for anyone who’s never had to be vulnerable or this exposed, to do.

And this is why I was drawn to Cee-C, it had nothing to do with how entertaining I thought she was. Some of her actions were inexcusable and I found myself screaming at her through the television a few times; but I appreciated that she was flawed, had struggles and was working through them, even if it wasn’t at a pace people expected.”

She then went ahead to mention that she is not actually rooting for the housemate:

Many people recognize themselves in her struggle,a part of our lives cameras don’t always capture, a battle with strong emotions and self control- and we appreciated her journey.

And that’s why it’s been disheartening to read from people who I know DO NOT have it all together; but quick to join in to call her animal, unfit to live and a mental case( exposing your own ignorance about the real battle of mental disorders). If your prescription to a crazy person is to act crazy yourself then you both need to be locked up.

And no, this is not a campaign, because her winning the money doesn’t mean much to me;the winners of these shows aren’t always the ones with fat bank accounts after – that doesn’t always last – it’s those who take what the experience put them through and see the gold that it is to be better after.

Hopefully she’s made us reflect a little more on our lives, how we’re perceived by the world and what we can do to become better.

You might think you’ve got it all together until you have a camera follow you around for 24hrs.

Hello everybody, it is very alarming and shocking that we are taking this Big Brother Naija thingy far. The insults and the curses are getting way out of hand. This is just a game, we are all one. It’s not like the guys in the house are from another country. They are ours, We are one! By Monday, this will all be over, the housemates will go about living their lives what happens then? I see some of the insults in my comment section but I chose to ignore because I believe this will end soon. Choose whoever you want to support without insulting one another. It is exhausting. #BBNaija: Nigerian ladies react to trending photo of Tobi’s eggplant

eggplant

Big brother Naija housemate, Tobi is currently trending on several social media platforms after photos of his huge eggplant hit the Internet.

Tobi and fellow BBN 2018 housemates, Alex and Miracle spent some time in the Jacuzzi last night and many viewers spotted his eggplant when he stood up to go get something.

Trust Nigerians to be funny with their remarks. According to many, Cee-C has been attacking him because of his huge member, which is kinda ridiculous.

See how many ladies are gushing to have Tobi in bed below:

Ime Bishop in cheating scandal with a mystery lady (Screenshots)

Ime Bishop

Ime Bishop is a Nigerian comic actor and he is popularly known as ‘Okon Lagos.’

The Actor seem to be involved in a cheating scandal based on the screenshots of his chat with a mystery lady that is currently making rounds online.

In the chat, the actor is alleged to have tried to hook up with the lady at Eko Hotel and Suites.

However, in a sudden twist, the lady declined hooking up with the actor. It looked like the lady got angry because of his continuous persistence and began to reign insults on him.

It even got to the point in one of the alleged conversations that the lady threatened to expose him and even went as far as insulting the actor’s wife, Idara and his mother.

The story however seem to be incomplete, judging from the chats, one can see she was all nice at first but suddenly she changed and began to act up.

This is definitely not the end of this gist.

#BBNaija: Tobi pictured picking Alex’s nose

Tobi pictured

Tobi pictured with Alex

The ‘friendship’ between housemates, Tobi and Alex seems to be going stronger and somewhat, weirder by the day.

In another episode of ‘friendship goals’, Tobi has been pictured on camera picking his buddy, Alex’s nose and seems okay with it.

The gentleman who’s a potential winner of the Big Brother Naija: Double Wahala game show has professed earlier that if he had the chance of dating Alex, he’s down with it.

This gesture of his towards her just might be him showing that he’s willing to do anything for her, no matter how weird and unhygienic it might be…

From our judgement, Tobi’s relationship with Alex is far more healthier and reasonable than the one he’d had with Cee-C some weeks back.

It’s obvious they’d hit things off if given the chance…

#BBNaija: “You’ve changed” – Miracle says to Nina as they quarrel over Cee-C and others

Miracle says

Miracle says Nina has changed

While other housemates were calling it a night and getting ready for bed, lovebirds Nina and Miracle were engrossed in a fight that had them both declaring “I’m not happy”.

The cause of their midnight rumble, which both termed a discussion and not an argument, was Nina’s attitude towards Tobi and Alex, as well as her being, according to Miracle, a person he doesn’t recognize.

Airing his issues undiluted, Miracle revealed he was incensed at a comment Nina passed earlier, where she had called his close friends Tobi and Alex “them”.

Miracle had earlier in the day spent time with Alex and Tobi in the jacuzzi, where they had discussed, amongst many other things, Nina and Cee-C.

“I don’t take sides and will not where drama is concerned seeing as it is the last week, but I’m surprised by your attitude. When did Tobi and Alex start being them?” he asked.

Nina then referenced how Alex and Tobi had told him she is using him to play the game and that their romance is not genuine, as a catalyst.

“Since Tobi told you this, you have this mind-set that I am not real. Don’t let him fill your head with things that are not true. When we leave this House, you will find out who your real friends are,” she said, ominously.

Miracle didn’t take kindly to Nina’s remarks and warned her to never imply another man was telling him how to behave.

“If you’re saying Tobi is filling my head, then I’ll be really angry with you. Trust me. You’re insulting me. I see you changing and that’s a fact”.

Nina seemed taken aback by this attack and sniped right back, reminding him how he has also changed as the Game grinds to a halt.

The two went around in circles for a while, until Miracle cut it short and decided it would be better to speak about the issue outside the House without cameras rolling and millions of eyes watching.

“The management didn’t contact me. If they did, I would have honoured them” – Student behind OAU sex-for-marks scandal speaks

student behind

Student behind OAU s*x-for-mark scandal speaks

The lady behind the OAU s*x-for-marks scandal has made a new allegation countering an earlier claim by the university.

According to a report by The Nation, Miss Monica Osetobe Osagie, who was named earlier today by the Obafemi Awolowo University, as the female voice in the viral S*x-For-Mark tape has denied being invited by the Committee set up by the Obafemi Awolowo University.

In a telephone conversation with an online medium, Osetobe, said she was never contacted by the school officials.

According to her, “The management didn’t contact me. If they did, i would have honour them”.

It will be recalled that Obafemi Awolowo University had on Thursday morning, released statement claiming, the female voice owner of the Sex-For-Mark conversation has been identified, as Monica Osetobe, who was contacted, but failed to show up.

The Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has received and considered the interim report of the Committee set up to investigate the allegation of sexual harassment revealed in a leaked audio recording.

In the interim report submitted to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, Professor Richard I. Akindele, of the Department of Management and Accounting, is now established to be the lecturer in the controversial “marks for sex” audio recording. The female voice has also been identified as that of Miss Monica Osetobe OSAGIE, a Postgraduate Student on the Master of Business Administration Regular programme.

Although the Investigative Committee had invited both Professor Richard I. Akindele and Miss Osagie, only Professor Akindele had appeared before the Committee, while Miss Osagie is yet to appear or make any representation.

The report indicated that many other witnesses appeared before the Committee and gave useful evidence. The University is making efforts to ensure that Miss Osagie appears before the investigative committee so that it can hear her side of the case and promptly submit its final report.

The Committee observed that a prima facie case of inappropriate relationship with the female student had been established against Professor Richard I. Akindele. The Vice-Chancellor, having carefully and dispassionately considered the report, also came to the conclusion that a prima facie case of serious misconduct had been established.

Having regard to the gravity of the offence for which Professor Richard I. Akindele is found to be prima facie liable, the Vice-Chancellor, in line with the Code of Conduct for the University Community and acting under all the laws and regulations of the University enabling him in that regard, has directed that Professor Richard I. Akindele be suspended forthwith from the University, pending the final determination of the disciplinary case against him.

Under the provisions of the relevant Statute of the University, an academic staff can only be dismissed from service or have his or her appointment terminated only when the matter on which consideration is being given has been investigated by a Joint Council and Senate Committee, and the staff has appeared before the committee with his or her counsel, if so desired. This procedure is the minimum requirement of the law and regulations of the University.

It should therefore be noted that the suspension of Professor Richard Akindele is on the basis of the findings of the Investigative Committee that he is prima facie liable, and this decision will abide, pending the final determination of the case by the Council of the University.

We will like to reiterate that OAU will continue to do everything legally and morally acceptable in pursuance of its avowed commitment to zero tolerance for s*xual harassment, intimidation and, or coercion.

Some Nigerians in diaspora have shown massive support for President Muhammadu Buhari who is gunning for a second term in office despite being 75.

These Nigerians staged a rally in support of President Muhammadu Buhari and demanded that he continues the progressive change agenda of his government beyond 2019 at the Nigeria House in London, United Kingdom.

The youths branded colourful banners to show their support for President Muhammadu Buhari whose popularity has drastically reduced back home as a result of the fragile local economy and widespread security issues.

According to unconfirmed report, each person was allegedly paid 150 pounds for just two hours to participate in the rally.

Man dies from heart attack

An unidentified man of about sixty years of age, has reportedly dropped dead while waching strippers in a club.

According to reports, the man was enjoying the view, next to the stage and was waving around a foam police baton toy before he fell face first onto the tiled floor and remained motionless.

It was gathered that the appropriate authorities were invited to the scene and discovered that he had died from a heart attack.

A statement was received from witnesses who were shocked at the outcome of things as some said they initially assumed he was just having a seizure, while others said he didn’t look helpless before he slumped.

All efforts to resuscitate him proved abortive as his body as moved to the hospital for an autopsy.

‘The man was like everybody else. He was just sitting next to the stage. He was enjoying himself. There was a toy, like a police baton. He was playing with it and then… his head stopped. He fell forwards and his face hit the ground.

At that moment, we thought it was just out of excitement, but he laid still for a moment before we realised there was trouble and everyone got scared and some of the girls screamed’, an eyewitness said.

Arsene Wenger will ‘break up’ with the Gunners at the end of the season

Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has announced that he will stand down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season.

After more than two decades in charge of the Gunners, their Frenchman has announced that he will stand down in the summer

The 68-year-old took charge of the club in 1996 and guided them to three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups, although in recent years his record came under scrutiny.

Pressure mounted on the former Nancy, Monaco and Nagoya Grampus Eight boss when he failed to lead Arsenal into the Champions League for the first time since 1996-97 last summer, and with the Gunners struggling to reach the Premier League top four once more, he has decided to call it quits.

In a statement published on the club’s official website, he said:

“After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season.

“I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years.

“I managed the club with full commitment and integrity.

“I want to thank the staff, the players, the Directors and the fans who make this club so special.

“I urge our fans to stand behind the team to finish on a high.

“To all the Arsenal lovers take care of the values of the club.

Witness narrate how Maryam Sanda stabbed her husband, Bilyaminu Bello multiple times which led to his death

Bilyaminu Bello

The murder trial of Maryam Sanda who stabbed her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, son of ex-PDP chairman, Haliru Bello, to death in November last year, continued yesterday April 19th at the High Court in Jabi with one of the prosecuting witnesses telling the court how Maryam stabbed the deceased multiple times which led to his death.

Ibrahim Mohammed, a businessman and a friend of the deceased, told the court how the incident occurred on the night of November 18, 2017 while he was paying the couple a visit.

While being led in evidence by the prosecution counsel, James Idachaba, Mohammed said Maryam had on the night of the incident, threatened to cut off the manhood of the deceased unless she was divorced that night.

He said himself and Bilyaminu were smoking ‘Shisha’ and watching TV when Maryam came down to call Bil who answered her call and while they were upstairs, he heard noise from upstairs before Maryam sent Sadiya (the fourth defendant) to call him.

“When I got there, I saw both Maryam and Bilyaminu holding each other’s cloth on the neck. I asked what was happening and pleaded that they stop this. Maryam told me to tell Bilyaminu to divorce her. I told her they should exercise patience and stop fighting. She said she was not going anywhere until he divorced her.”

Mohammed said Maryam picked a bottle by the side of the door and broke it on the wall.

“She came straight to Bilyaminu to stab him. I held her hands and Bilyaminu went behind her and collected the broken bottle from her hands and went downstairs. I closed the door and continued to advise Maryam that they should stop fighting. She said she would not stop until Bilyaminu divorced her that night; that either he divorced her or she would cut his private part. While pleading with her, Bilyamin entered the bedroom and Maryam followed him, insisting that he should divorce her that night but Bilyamin kept silent.”

Muhammed said Maryam thereafter took one of the containers of scent and broke it on the table and approached Bilyamin to stab him but the deceased held her hand and collected the container and they started hitting each other, before Bilyamin pushed her to the bed and went downstairs but Maryam followed him downstairs. While he was sitting in their living room, Maryam entered the kitchen and took a knife, which he said he collected from her hand, adding that she later took up a table knife, which he also collected from her hands.

“She attempted picking the knife for about three or four times,” he added.

Mohammed said he left the couple’s home at about 1am but was later called by Abbah, the brother of the deceased to come to the Hospital.

“Abbah Bello (a brother to the deceased) called me about 1 hour later that I should come to Maitama Hospital because Bilyaminu was dead. I went there and met Bilyaminu lying on a bed in front of the hospital. There was a hole in his chest near the heart, bite on his stomach. There was a cut on his thigh and there was a sign of stitching on him,” he said.

Mohammed said both families of the couple were at the hospital, adding that they left from there to the police station after the corpse was taken to the mortuary. He added that while going to the station, Maryam’s mother and brother (Maimuna Aliyu and Aliyu Sanda) with a policeman in their car diverted to the couple’s house. He added that Usman Aliyu told him that they should follow them to the house to see what was happening there, adding that Maimuna and Aliyu went upstairs, while the policeman was in front of the car.

“Usman Aliyu and I entered the sitting room and observed that everything was normal as we left it. When we looked at where Bilyaminu prayed, there was a pair of slippers and praying mat. On a closer look, we discovered that the window blind had come down.”

Under cross-examination by counsels for the defendants: Joseph Daudu (SAN); Rotimi Ogunesan (SAN); A .T. Kehinde (SAN) and Olusegun Jolaawo, the witness told the court that he left the deceased performing ablution when he was leaving his house that night. When he was asked if Maryam threatened to kill the deceased all through the fights, Mohammed said she did not state so, adding, however, that, “Maryam said she would cut his private part.”

The trial judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu, adjourned the case to May 15 and 16 for continuation of hearing.

Dear Nigerian youths, we are not lazy, Buhari is a shame — Mark Anthony writes

Nigerian youths

Dear Nigerian Youths

You know the way asthma patients clutch their inhalers? Buhari caries his shame with such care and attention because without it, he may not survive.

When I heard what the president said about the young people in his country, I was nearly moved to tears. Not because of what he said but I thought of how choking his opinion was to the people he told that. Sitting in the midst of people who know that you have NO degree and that you are intellectually barren to make such demeaning statement about the young people who in all truism are the only flicker of light Nigeria has.

I can imagine how their brows were raised and how goose bumps overthrew their skins listening to such cancerous assertion from a man who masquerades as the president of the most populous black nation on the earth.

I can imagine how after the program they would share amongst themselves their disgust and wonder in hushed tones while they shake their heads to the truth of his unworthiness.

Okay. Let us say that Nigerian youths are lazy.

Where is the wisdom in going to the UK to tell some pale looking people clad in their cockiness that the young people of your country are lazy and jobless??

A clear case of making your incompetence a global knowledge.

My immediate younger brother who goes from door to door in onitsha selling rubber footwears is lazy and jobless.

My friend who after school is in onitsha market selling pampers and antiseptic is lazy.

My girlfriend who struggles in medical school by juggling the high academic demand and her soft drink business is very lazy.

Thousands of young Nigerians who became accidental entrepreneurs because the government had no jobs for them are lazy.

The bouncers in clubs who stand through out the night tucking their stomachs in for hours just for peanuts are very lazy men.

The girls who are students and make up artists are lazy people too.

The girl I once saw working in a building site with her pregnancy is lazy. Very lazy.

My friend who died in a Nigerian hospital because there was no fuel in the generator to power the oxygen machine died out of laziness.

All the young people that were killed in cold blood by the Fulani herdsmen died because they were lazy and dependent.

There are many things to qualify a Nigerian but laziness isn’t one of them. It is disrespectful especially when they have to provide their own security, water, light and happiness.

On the other hand, Buhari’s children are very hardworking. They work like donkeys.

Went to the University of Surrey with their hardwork. They never experienced strike because they were hardworking.

They had all they needed to succeed because they were very hardworking people unlike we the lazy ones.

They fly first-class because they aren’t lazy people.

Their drivers carry them to everywhere even the hair salon because of their hardworking mentality.

Yusuf the most hardworking young man I know had an accident with a bike worth millions. Many Nigerians can’t afford such accident because they are very lazy.

Now, he was sent out of the country to be treated like a hardworking young man because he doesn’t deserve to be treated in the same hospital lazy Nigerian youths are treated.

Buhari is a shame!!

I should write an apology to the word shame because it feels ashamed when I mention Buhari alongside it.

Dear young Nigerians, let us keep grinding and surviving.

Let us keep stomaching the insults from politicians who are using our rights to settle their personal scores.

Let us find things that will make us happy in the midst of this depression called Nigeria!

Finally, may we never stop asking God how we ended up here.

While comparing the behaviour of Big Brother Naija’s 2018 housemate CeeC to that of the goof made by Nigerian President – Buhari at the Commonwealth Conference (Where he tagged Nigerian Youths as Lazy), Reno said that CeeC is a better person than Buhari.

He added that Ceec realized her error and apologized, but President Buhari didn’t apologize, opting to justify his statement.

Reno tweeted;

“Cee-C is even better than Buhari. At least after insulting Tobi, she realized her error and apologized. Rather than apologize after calling Nigerian youths lazy, Buhari justifies it. If Cee-C is worthy of eviction, Buhari is thrice as worthy and should be evicted from Aso Rock!”

Day 81 highlights

Whipping the House into Shape

The House woke up to the eye-popping surprise of welcoming former BBNaija Housemate and fitness coach Sandra Osaigbovo for a very special and intense workout. Osaigbovo was the fourth runner up to the very first BBNaija cohort over a decade ago and has since grown to become Nigeria’s top Zumba instructor. Also known as Sandy, she wasted no time in getting sleep out of the Housemates minds and bodies. We have to say that never had we witnessed so much sweat dripping of their faces: Housemates were puffing and grimacing under the workout’s increased intensity.

Use It or Lose It

Yet the heavily pregnant Osaigbovo didn’t seem impressed at all by the Housemates sweats, and instead gradually pushed them to go beyond their own limitations. The amount of energy that Osaigbovo helped Housemates pump in their bodies ensured they surpassed themselves. By all means, even the fitness fanatic Tobi was drenched in sweat as he caught up with the frantic pace of the session. Miracle and Alex who do enjoy a good workout were equally intensely focused on following the routine. While Nina has never made a secret of her disinclination for high intensity workout, she nonetheless gave it her best shot. Cee-C had also seemed to adhere to the ‘no pain no gain’ approach.

A Well-Earned Rest

As painful as it surely must have been, Alex and Tobi were energised by the session and stayed hanging out in the patio doing laundry, while Cee-C, Miracle and Nina had gone back to bed to rest their tired muscles. Sandra Osaigbovo’s body conditioning exercises will most definitely be remembered in the Big Brother Naija history.

What The Hell Is That?

With the Big Brother Naija Finale drawing closer, our Housemates are employing different tactics to help them cope with the Game’s inevitable end.

Being locked up in a House with no contact with the outside world can work on anyone’s psyche, but luckily, our finalists are equal to the challenge. Although this week has been far from slow, our gang is continuing to take it easy mostly, as the week comes to a close.

Alex and Tobi have officially taken their respective places as ‘King and Queen of dance’. On any given morning, you will see the two besties staring at themselves in the garden mirrors, dancing up a storm, with no care in the world. Sometimes, the two regale each other with stories from their real lives outside the House. Other times, they make a game out of mimicking Big Brother’s voice as it beams a directive over the House speakers.

Cee-C on the other hand, usually keeps to herself and pops up when it’s time for a Task Briefing. Yesterday however, Cee-C gave everyone something to talk about when she went on a verbal tirade against Tobi after he had “gossiped” about her. That and the Strike that followed gave the gang enough to talk about, well into the night.

Nina and Miracle have been sure to spend every waking moment with each other. When they are not sitting outside soaking up the last rays of the early winter sun, the two hop into bed and take lazy siestas in each other’s arms.

Today, Miracle’s aeronautical know-how was put to good use by the gang, who had spotted an ‘Unidentified Flying Object’. Responding to shouts of “Miracle come down quickly,” the 22-year-old pilot sprinted out of the house and made a beeline for the garden, where Alex and Tobi were waiting, eyes fixed at the sky. “What is that? A rocket? A plane? It’s going so fast”.

Miracle then confidently assured his fellow Housemates that everything was in order and there would be no alien invasions anytime soon. “It’s a commercial jet,” he confirmed, before going on to measure how high the plane was flying and possibly how fast.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane

Let Me Upgrade You

The Buff Softie

This morning Toby tenderly offered to trim Alex’s long braids and refresh her hairstyle. As she came to sit on the floor, he sat behind her caringly held a pair of scissors in his hands as the improvised hairdresser he had become to allow her to change style and feel glammed up. The sight of Tobi clumsily and slowly cutting Alex’s hair was only equalled by the pure confidence and comfort she showed in him. Earlier this week, Tobi and Miracle had told Alex of their genuine appreciation of her natural, uncompromised beauty as they seemed to never make a big case of the range of flashy colours she sported in her hair.

The Green Haired Lady

It is a rare woman who would let inexperienced hands near her crown of glory, as the fear of bad hair days is usually enough to threaten any woman’s poise. Yet despite Tobi’s lack of credentials in this domain, Alexdidn’t blink for a second as she let him gently trim her waist-long green mane. It made for a rather jolly instant to have the twice Head of House Alex and thrice Head of House Tobi share this unplanned intimate moment. As soon as the matter had been handled, Alex sprung back on her feet and rushed to the mirror to admire her new reflection, while Tobi stretched out his arms, looking all proud of his achievement.

Friendship Goals

For all the wahala that the House has given us, Alex and Tobi have stuck to each other and have gone through thick and thin together. Like the two peas in a pod that they are, they’ve tolerated each other’s craziness and come rain or shine dealt together with their mixed emotions. No matter what happens after the game, Alex and Tobi’s friendship will go down in history as one that has proven that the language of friendship was not words but meanings.

In Hot Waters

The jacuzzi is by far the one facility of the Double Wahala House whose benefits Housemates have not fully enjoyed. For some reason between the Tasks, Challenges, Wagers, Parties, Romances and Live Shows Housemates seem to have resisted the hot tub appeal.

Bubbles and Bliss

As usual, Tobi dragged Miracle to the jacuzzi but the waters proved to be at a higher temperature than they could tolerate. The two friends entered inch by inch into the tub, while hopping from one foot to another as not to be seen as chickening out of waters. Nina who had also changed into a bathing costume also came by, but the sight of the two big fellows fighting to immerse into the waters stopped her from joining them. Nina initially held back, fearing she might not cope with the steamy liquids, but Miracle managed to convince her to dip one inch at a time until her body had adjusted to the temperature.

Like Ducks Taking to Water

By then Miracle and Tobi were comfortably immersed in the waters, with Nina still sitting on the edge, casually chatting and looking ravished to just hanging there in the group. Given there’s no party in the House without Alex, it didn’t take long for her to also appear and get ready to take a dip in the hot bath. In the heat of the moment, Alex entered and sat next to Tobi, only to realise seconds later that her mic had dipped too deep and was compromised, which Biggie’s voice confirmed by calling her into the Diary Room to replace it.

In Calming Waters

With all the drama that has taken place within the walls of the Double Wahala House, we cannot help but wonder how many more could have been pacified just by the purifying effects of water. As much each Housemate has at one point or another been involved in some peace-brokering efforts, perhaps just sitting together in a hot steamy bath, listening to music, singing and just relaxing would have done wonders. What do you think?

Producers of Motion

This evening the four Housemates who progressed from the first Minimie task earlier were asked to pair and create a two minute Television commercial.

Unfortunately for Tobi, he didn’t make to the next round of the task which is worth 500,000 Naira. However, Big Brother allowed him the opportunity to be the go to guy whenever the pairs needed help.

Nina and Cee-C joined forces while Alex and Miracle formed another team and were given a three hour time frame to complete their task.

Help Out or Leave

Tobi’s excitement when he saw the camera was too visible to contain as he shared his knowledge with his fellow Housemates on how the equipment worked.

His willingness to help wasn’t without drama though when Cee-C lashed out on him when he was trying to help them.

Dressed in a school girl’s uniform, Cee-C and Nina were ready to shoot their video when Tobi explained how the camera works. Cee-C then pointed out that Tobi has a negative energy and he’s reluctance to help is obvious.

The few exchange of words between Cee-C and Tobi had Nina fatigued and she told Cee-C that she had lost interest but made it clear that they will use Tobi’s help when they need to.

Minimie for Everyone

For their skits, Cee-C and Nina have chosen to do a commercial focusing on a young girl who enjoys a variety of Minimie’s offerings.

Miracle and Alex have taken an adult route where they’re portraying a couple who’s expecting and the wife craves Minimie’s variety of noodles.

The pair that wins will walk away with the cash prize and a year’s supply of Minimie Noodles and Minimie chinchin.

Repairing What’s Beyond Repairs

With only five people left in the Big Brother House and just a few days until the winner is crowned, hopes for any reconciliation amongst the Housemates seems to be becoming a myth every day.

Dear Diary

Working together in the House seems to be a very difficult mission and the Housemates seems to have made peace with how things are.

In the diary room, they all told Biggie they don’t think they’ll ever work together without any personal feelings getting in the way. Cee-C being the most vocal on the ‘united front’ point and pointing out that it’s almost impossible to omit personal feelings; with Nina highlighting the fact that the House is a kingdom divided.

When quarrels and misunderstandings are the talk in the House, Alex, Cee-C and Tobi’s names pop out.

And although the trio has tried to iron out their differences, nothing seems to have changed.

Post Biggie’s House

Alex has told Biggie that she’s learning to accept people with their flaws in the House but she wishes that Cee-C would stop imagining that people are against her.

Miracle concurred and added that he also tried sitting them down but that didn’t work and thinks the relationship, if ever, will be fixed when they leave the House.

Presidential aide, Femi Adesina says President Buhari never said ‘all Nigerian youths’ but ‘a lot of Nigerian youths’ are lazy

Presidential aide

Presidential aide Femi Adesina

Special adviser to the President on media and publicity, Femi Adesina has released a statement in response to the criticism President Buhari has received following his comment at the Commonwealth Business Forum on Wednesday.

President Buhari had at the forum, told the gathering that Nigerian youths sit and do nothing and wait for government to provide schools, healthcare, housing for them free.

Read Adesina’s response below,

At the Commonwealth Business Forum in London on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari gave a keynote address on Making Business Easier Between Commonwealth Countries. The presentation was followed by a discussion, and question and answer session.

Responding to a question, President Buhari had cause to talk about some Nigerian youths, and he said: “We have a very young population; our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. More than 60 per cent of the population is below the age of 30. A lot of them have not been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria has been an oil producing country, therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, healthcare and education free.”

Typical of their stock in trade, manipulators and twisters of statements of Mr President, who lie in wait to make mischief, interpreted the comment to mean that President Buhari had taken all Nigerian youths to the cleaners. But elementary English recognizes a wide gulf between “a lot of” and the word “all.” How can “a lot of them,” suddenly transmogrify to mean “all of them?” Mischievous and unconscionable!

There is no way President Buhari, father of the Nigerian nation in every sense of the word, who equally has biological children of his own in the youths age bracket, pass a vote of no confidence on all youths. It can only exist in the imagination of those who play what the President has described as “irresponsible politics” with everything.

President Buhari has always applauded and celebrated Nigerian youths who excel in different areas of endeavour, from sports, to academia, and other realms. And he will continue to do so, because he values the youths, and knows that they are the fulcrum on which the future of the country rests.

Indeed, every country has its share of idle population, and it is the bounden duty of government at all levels, to create an enabling environment for them to actualize their potentials. That is what President Buhari is committed to doing.

The focal areas of the administration; securing the country, reviving the economy, and fighting corruption, are actually intended to give youths a future and a hope.

This much was emphasized in an April 5, 2018 comment by President Buhari, while receiving Letter of Credence from the Head of Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria, when he said:

” Our insistence on probity is to encourage people to be accountable, and accept honesty as a lifestyle so as to secure the future of our youths.’’ The President also said more than 60 percent of Nigerians fall into the age category of youths and deserve to inherit a stable and prosperous country that they can be proud of, adding that the government will work assiduously to prevent waste and the depletion of resources by corrupt Nigerians.

It is futile for mischief makers to lie in wait, and take a minor part of the words of the President, and turn it into negative commentary, peradventure they could diminish the profile of the President. Nigerians across all walks of life know who is serving them faithfully and truly, and they will always reciprocate such fidelity as occasions demand.

“We are always great at pointing out our issues” – Banky W reacts to PMB’s speech that Nigerian youths are lazy

Nigerian youths

Like many other Nigerian youths, Nigerian singer, Banky W is appalled by President Buhari’s speech at the Commonwealth where he described the youths as ‘Lazy‘.

According to the R&B singer, ‘we are always great at pointing out our issues.. but the truth is that we can sit around and complain from now until Kingdom come. IT WILL NOT MATTER. INEC will not count your tweets. Let’s turn the month of May into #PVCMay‘.

Read his full post below…

So apparently, this is what our President thinks about the Nigerian youth.
What do you guys think?

I have a suggestion. Whether you agree, or disagree with the President’s comments, this time, do a little bit more than posting, commenting, retweeting, and complaining. Go and register to vote.

I’ve sat in countless meetings, seminars, conferences and hangouts with young people. We are always great at pointing out our issues.. but the truth is that we can sit around and complain from now until Kingdom come. IT WILL NOT MATTER. INEC will not count your tweets. Let’s turn the month of May into #PVCMay.

Even if you don’t know who you’re voting for.. even if you hate every single candidate. At least register.. so that if someone comes along who you feel compelled to support, you can.
If you’re really serious about wanting Nigeria to be a better place, go and register to vote. Get your PVC asap. The registration period will end LONG before the elections come, so if you think you can wait until next year, you are wrong.

Get your PVC today. Or don’t bother complaining about anything, because it won’t matter. Your tweets will not count. Your vote will.

Student who exposed OAU Professor in sex-for-marks scandal Identified

OAU Professor

OAU Professor

The authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife said Monica Osagie was the student involved in a sex-for-marks scandal, that has sorely questioned the morality of university dons, in the training of young Nigerians.

Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), said Monica Osetobe Osagie was studying for a Masters in Business Administration.

He also announced the suspension of Prof. Richard Akindele, the don involved in the salacious scandal.

Ogunbodede’s action followed the submission of the interim report of the committee set up to investigate the allegation of sexual harassment revealed in audio recording.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a recorded audio conversation of the don demanding for sex to increase the marks of a female undergraduate had gone viral.

“The committee observed that a prima facie case of inappropriate relationship with the female student had been established against Professor Richard I. Akindele”.

The Vice Chancellor said that though the investigative committee invited both Akindele and Osagie, only Akindele appeared before the committee.

“The report indicated that many other witnesses appeared before the committee and gave useful evidence.“The university is making efforts to ensure that Miss Osagie appears before the investigative committee so that it can hear her side of the case and promptly submit its final report,’’ he said.

Explaining why the lecturer was yet to be sacked, the Vice Chancellor said that the provisions of the relevant statute of the university must be followed.

“Under the provisions of the relevant statute of the university, an academic staff can only be dismissed from service or have his or her appointment terminated only when the matter on which consideration is being given has been investigated by a Joint Council and Senate Committee;

“Also the staff has appeared before the committee with his or her counsel, if so desired.

“This procedure is the minimum requirement of the law and regulations of the university.

“It should therefore be noted that the suspension of Professor Richard I. Akindele is on the basis of the findings of the Investigative Committee that he is prima facie liable.

“This decision will abide, pending the final determination of the case by the council of the University”, the vice chancellor said.
