A jet-setting preacher who boasts he can walk on air, summon angels and cure cancer calls his incredible £100m fortune ‘miracle money.’
Malawi-born Shepherd Bushiri packs out massive venues across the world thanks to his hundreds of thousands of devoted followers.
Entrance to next month’s ‘Enlightened Christian Gathering’ in Inglewood, California costs up to $505 a time.
It’s not surprising the controversial holy man has an estimated net worth of $150m (£105m).
And despite claims he is a fraud, Bushiri is still one of the “hottest tickets” on the preacher circuit.
Those that can’t make his live shows have to make do with his hugely-popular YouTube site Prophetic Channel TV.
It is home to bizarre clips claiming to show him helping the crippled walk, the blind see and the healing of those with HIV.
One video which shows worshippers ‘collapse in ecstasy as angels appear’ alongside Bushiri has been watched by millions.
Particularly popular clips tell Bushiri’s legions of followers how to fight demons, find love, and, of course, get rich.
However, it was a clip of the South Africa-based prophet ‘walking on air’ in 2015 which has become infamous.
Although, many saw it as a sign that he is truly the ‘chosen one’ others say it just proves he’s bogus.
His reputation was also rocked in 2016 when a woman came forward to say she had been paid to lie about miracles.
She said Bushiri paid a string of actors to stage being healed during his sermons. Allegations denied by the pastor.
Botswana even shut down one of his churches reportedly due to claims his “miracle money” appears by magic.
They are allegations the 30-something Bentley-driving preacher – known as the Major One- is aware of and casually shrugs off.
“My ministry is not for everyone, it is for those who have faith,” he told the BBC earlier this month.
Bushiri bizarrely claims:
– He can cure cancer
– He can make the blind see
– He can summon angels
– He can heal HIV with prayer
– He can magic up money
– He can ‘cure’ the disabled
“I’m just a messenger of God’s work. God heals people in our meetings.
“One time I got doctors here to bring patients with HIV – they tested them before to show they are HIV.
“I prayed for them and again afterwards and now they were HIV-negative.”
After being labelled a fake, over his stage levitating he invited cameras into his home to prove he’s for real.
However, the resulting video did little to improve his credibility among his doubters.
The footage starts with Bushiri – his arms held aloft – walking down a wooden staircase.
At one stage his feet are clearly seen dangling mid-air, but so are the shadows of those holding him aloft!
The video has been viewed nearly 500,000 times after it was uploaded to YouTube by his followers.
They said the “hair-raising” performance had left the “Christian world thunder-struck.”
It added to the legend of a man who claims he was visited by a messenger of God when he was 10.
One things that is sure about the father-of-two is just how far he has from his poor upbringing in Mzuzu, in northern Malawi.
Over the years he has amassed vast wealth and now owns several mines, four private planes and a number of hotels.
When he bought his latest £25m Gulf Stream jet, he was informed he was the youngest person to buy he model.
His growing portfolio of possessions, including mansions across Africa, is managed by his businesswoman wife Mary.
However, he is far from ashamed about his fortune and accuses those who say he is profiteering of being racist.
“My success should inspire people to be entrepreneurs,” he says.
“I am a businessman and that is separate from being a prophet. My prosperity is from private businesses.
“Such questions are not asked from leaders of white churches but when an African man prospers, then it’s a problem.”
Although ticket sales make up a large chunk of Bushiri’s income, like all good brands he also has his merchandise.
Boko Haram insurgents have issued a stern warning to parents in the North-East of Nigeria, not to endanger the lives of their children, by sending them to schools.
Residents of Dapchi in Yobe state said the insurgents said this when Boko Haram trerrorists dropped the abducted schoolgirls this morning.
“Don’t ever put your daughters in school again,” a witnesses told Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Governor Fayose has reacted to the release of the Dapchi school girls,
The Governor however described the abduction of the girls as an indictment of the federal government and their release as “drama scripted by the government and its agents to swindle Nigerians.”
According to The Independent, Fayose, while reacting to the release of the abducted school girls, said;
“This appears like an arranged abduction and an arranged release, but we thank God that the innocent girls have returned home and we condole with parents of those that died.”
In a statement issued on Wednesday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it was strange that the girls could be brought back to Dapchi by their abductors without the security agents knowing when they were returned and who returned them.
He said:
“Curiously, the same spirit who made sure that all military checkpoints in Dapchi and other surrounding towns were removed to pave way for the abduction of the girls also made sure that the girls were returned without any security agent seeing them.
“One can only be hopeful that the real scriptwriters behind this drama will be exposed one day.
“Nigerians should recall that the Governor of Yobe state, Ibrahim Geidam said that military checkpoints were withdrawn from Dapchi and other communities a few days before the abduction of the 110 girls.”
This was also corroborated by the Amnesty International in its report that was published in the newspapers yesterday.
“Specifically, Amnesty International said that security forces failed to act on advance warnings that a convoy of Boko Haram fighters was heading to Dapchi town and that between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm on February 19, 2018, calls were made to tell the security services that the Boko Haram insurgents were in the Dapchi area.
“No doubt, withdrawal of military checkpoints from Dapchi and other communities, few days before the 110 students were abducted and failure of the security forces to act on advance warnings exposed the conspiracy of the federal government and its agents in the abduction of the schoolgirls and other dastardly acts of the insurgents.
“Interestingly, no one was questioned up till now despite conflicting claims by the army and police as well as the damning report by the Amnesty International hat between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm on February 19, 2018, calls were made to tell the security services that the Boko Haram insurgents were in the Dapchi area.”
The governor, who reiterated his allegation that Boko Haram insurgency had become source of treasury looting said:
“Those benefiting from Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) scams, payment of ransom (in dollars) to free those abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents, among others will never wish to see the end of the insurgency.”
One of the popular housemates at the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show, Tobi Bakre has revealed he earned a meagre sum of money during his time in the banking sector.
23-year old University of Lagos graduate and former Heritage Bank employee, Tobi has revealed life was unpromising while he worked at the new generation financial institution.
According to him, he was earning a sum of N130,000 per month and the amount was insufficient for his upkeep.
This he revealed during an afternoon parley with fellow housemates, Miracle, Teddy A, Alex and Cee-C.
He said:
“I was earning 130k at the bank. At a point, I got bored doing the samething everyday. But my bosses were really nice to me. I was always being given gifts by my superiors” he stated.
He explained that he believes he has more potentials and this prompted him to apply for the Big Brother Naija contest.
Tobi didn’t fail to mention that he wasn’t promoted for 4 years despite emerging as the best new staff at the bank at some point.
Tobi further revealed that he graduated from school at 18 and joined the bank in 2014 as a 19-year old.
Host of Big Brother Naija Show, Ebuka Obi Uchendu, announced that this week, the public will be voting to bring back two of their favourite evicted housemates.
Immediately the announcement was made, social media was set on fire, with different reactions from different folks.
While some were excited about the prospect of having their favourites back on the show, others considered it unfair to the current housemates.
Via their official website, organizers of the show have explained the twist, which, while it’s the first of its kind in Africa, has been featured in ten seasons across the US and Canada versions of the show.
What organisers have to say about recent #BBNaija twist
On a flat surface view, the potential ‘returnees’ have been exposed to the outside world, the media and have created strategic formulae that might work in their favour in terms of game; again, flat surface view.
In reality however, the only difference between current and Ex-housemates is the amount of information at their disposal.
The one group know whose been nominating them but the other doesn’t, the one has established who the strongest contenders are in terms of numbers and the other hasn’t.
In terms of the votes however, the power still lies in the viewer’s hands; immunity is only awarded to Housemate that wins it fairly and nominations are driven by the Housemates themselves so, the probability of two Housemates bringing biased scales to the House are non-existent.
To each their own strategy.
Other twists on #BBNaija Double Wahala
Up until the seventh week, the housemates contested in pairs. This meant that if one housemate gets evicted, his or her partner leaves too.
If a housemate gets a reward or punishment, the partner will also be at the receiving end.
Also, for the first time in the history of #BBNaija, it was announced that whoever emerges the Head of House won’t be guaranteed immunity and the veto power to save a nominated housemate and replace with another.
The eligible Housemates campaigning to return to the house are: Anto, Leo, IfuEnnada, Ahneeka, Angel, Princess, Bitto, Vandora, Dee-One, Khloe and K.Brule.
Former Big Brother Naija Housemate, and 2nd runner up of the 2017 edition of the show, TBoss has replied a follower who said she’s old enough to get married already.
The follower wrote on Instagram: “You’re 34 and not married, what a wow”..
..and then TBoss immediately responded to her, by body shaming her..
“Baby if being married is your definition of achievement, then I’m super sorry for you. As if that mouth of yours isn’t bad enough”.
TBoss is not new to firing back at her critics.
Recently, TBoss criticized the BBNaija “Double wahala” housemates for being dirty, and she was bashed severally.
Recall that TBoss known for her ‘cleanliness during her time on the reality show in 2017, took to her Instagram to express her irritations towards the present housemates.
Her comment, however, generated some negative comments.
She has consequently called out those who can’t walk up to her on a normal day, sitting in their homes and using their N100 data to insult her for making a ‘clear’ observation.
According to her, anybody who has a ‘bloody brain and bloody eyes’, will see what was happening in the house on Saturday Night.
The second runner up of the reality TV show in 2017, said she doesn’t care about what people say about her, assuring that she will continue to remain herself despite the current criticism.
According to the minister, only 76 out of the 110 girls were released this morning.

The directive by President Muhammadu Buhari to all security agencies to do everything possible to secure the release of the Dapch schoolgirls, who were abducted 19 Feb. 2018, has yielded fruits, with the confirmed release of 76 of the 110 abducted students in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the 76 are those who have been documented so far, adding that the release of the abducted students is ongoing.
He said the girls were released around 3 a.m. through back-channel efforts and with the help of some friends of the country, and that it was unconditional.
”For the release to work, the government had a clear understanding that violence and confrontation would not be the way out as it could endanger the lives of the girls, hence a non-violent approach was the preferred option.
”Within the period when the girls were being brought back, operational pause was observed in certain areas to ensure free passage and also that lives were not lost,” Alhaji Mohammed said.
He said the number of the freed girls would be updated after the remaining ones have been documented, especially because the girls were not handed over to anyone but dropped off in Dapchi.

Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha who is celebrating the 11th birthday of her first daughter, revealed the treatment she endured from her ex-husband’s family when she was pregnant with the girl.
According to her, her ex-inlaws persecuted her because she was an actress and said their brother will never marry her.
When she eventually had her kids, she claims they told her her children will be bastards. She added that they threatened to kill her and constantly sent assassins to her home.
They even went as far as dragging her to the police station.
Sharing the picture above, the actress wrote;
“Lord I am humbled.Thank you for your many blessings upon her life. Lord you favored me and blessed me with the most gracious daughter in the household of the igwegbe’s.
“Despite the many battles from the enemies of Igwegbe’s household, you showed me mercy and gave me strength. I became a mom in the midst of a raging storm.
“I was threatened constantly that ‘you will never marry my brother, you will never be a mom, you will be barren, i will kill you, I will rather die than have you bear my brother kids or step your foot in my father’s house , you and your children will be bastards’.
“For no just cause.. Simply because I was an actor, I was dragged to every police station in Lagos, assassins were constantly sent to my home.
“I was shamed on every national News paper/tabloids like a common thief and was made an object of caricature because I was in love with your father as he did me.
“My crime was wanting to settle down like every other young woman. Through it all, I remained silent and pleaded my case before God. You o lord covered my shame and gave your final judgement.
“You blessed me with Chigozie and it’s been endless blessings since then. Lord continue to silence every roaring lion and enemies of our household.
“May every stone thrown at us be the solid rock upon which we build our foundation. May your grace never depart from her for she brought me comfort, peace and many blessings.
“Continue to protect her from all who have been fighting tirelessly to deny her her due place in her father’s home and the joy of growing up with her father like every girl deserves.
“Chigozie Being your mom was the best Job I ever had and continue to do till the day I close my eyes in perfect peace. I ?you child of mine.

Earlier, we had reported the Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapped from their school had been freed by their abductors.
Sources said the girls were brought to Dapchi by persons suspected to be their Boko Haram abductors.
Five of the girls are, however, feared dead.
About 110 girls were kidnapped from Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, on 19 February, in a raid President Muhammadu Buhari described as a “national disaster.”
Amnesty International yesterday said the Nigerian military was warned prior the raid similar to the one that led to the kidnap of Chibok girls on April 14, 2014.
It blamed the latest kidnap on the “inexcusable security lapses” on the part of the military.
“The government’s failure in this incident must be investigated and the findings made public — and it is absolutely crucial that any investigation focuses on the root causes,” said Amnesty’s Nigeria director Osa Ojigho.
But the Nigerian military said that Amnesty goofed. A military spokesman Brigadier General John Agim said AI’s report was a “calculated attempt to whip up sentiments and mislead unsuspecting Nigerians.”
AI, however, insisted that between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm on February 19, at least five calls were made to tell the security services that Islamist fighters were in the Dapchi area.
Nigerian male barbie, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, took to his Snapchat page to show off the properties he has acquired at the age of 26.
Sharing pictures of his home, his closet and his jewelry boxes, Bobrisky also talked about his mystery bae.
According to Bobrisky, he never could have achieved this much without his mystery bae by his side, and if he hadn’t kept their relationship a secret for four years he could have lost him to other girls.
“I never did alone i won’t lie. i got all dis with the help of my darling my BAE. Bleep some billionaire codedly. Keep their names out of friends and social media.
My if i tell anybody who my BAE is by now i would have been this rich today. Always close your mouth. Even if you’re bleeping dad let it be an everlasting secret btw u and him.
Some people say no secret last forever. That is a fat lie. I have been with my BAE for 4yrs now and no one can trace us wen we see, or who is the BAE. My has 3 grown children with lot of billions . I’m the latest wife” he said

Cee-C and Alex almost came to exchanging blows this afternoon.
They were involved in a massive burst up as they obviously still have some unresolved issues with one another.
Big Brother had given the housemates a task where they had to be shared into 3 groups.
Alex, Tobi and Bambam were in a group, Cee-C, Rico and TeddyA were in another group, and Nina, Miracle and Lolu in another group.
According to Alex, Cee-C had mentioned Tobi and Bambam would do well in that group, and that Rico should join their group.
Alex reacted to this and asked Cee-C to mention the name of the person she wants out, instead of talking in parables. Cee-C took offence this and raised her voice.

while three were made into Nigerian accounts belonging to Alhassan Davide and Edin Obaro.

The surety must be a public servant in the service of Federal or Delta state government on grade level 12 and above.

The pupils were nabbed by officials of Lagos State Neighbourhood and Safety Corps (LNSC).

Reacting to the development, the state Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Agboola Dabiri, said the state government would not condone illegality, adding that plans are at an advanced stage for them to be sent to a correctional home for reformation.

Popular Nigerian hitmakers, Davido and Small Doctor have been accused of copyright infringement.
King Sunny Ade’s manager, Mr Clement Ige reportedly called out the duo for using lyrics from veteran Juju musician’s songs without seeking for the permission to do so.
Ige expressed his dissatisfaction towards the action of the singers, using lyrics from KSA’s songs in their hit songs and not even giving credit to the original owner of the lyrics.
Speaking at Goldberg’s Ariya Repete Roundtable discourse in Abeokuta, the manager revealed that young generation singers are not doing things the right way.
He added that their songs lyrics are filled with jargon that make no literal sense.
He said;
“They use English language to speak Yoruba. Like the young man who sang ‘makole marale.’ How do you build house before buying a land?
“Many of them don’t give credit to the original composer of the song they adopt.
“They just sing it without seeking permission. That’s a copyright infringement. It’s not done in developed societies.
“Till today, Small Doctor didn’t get our permission before and after singing ‘ijó tí m’ojó l’àná, tí wọn n’pariwo, oni nkọ, ola nkọ.’
“And many of them are guilty of this.
“The Davido that used Sunny’s lyrics in his song didn’t even get it right and that’s because he didn’t ask for permission.
“If he did, we would have corrected him. What is ‘Kuluso ewe, agbagba ewe…?’

The police in Lagos have arrested the owner of Collabor Hotel, an inn on Ige Street in the Iyana Ipaja area of the state, for allegedly hosting underage sex workers in the facility.
The owner of the hotel, John Okon, was apprehended along with the hotel manager, Emmanuel Thomas.
Their alleged accomplice, Monica Ita, was said to be at large.
PUNCH Metro learnt that operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, acting on intelligence, busted the hotel on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
They also caught a 15-year-old primary school leaver allegedly engaging in prostitution.
The girl was said to have been brought from her village in the eastern part of the country by Ita a few weeks ago on the pretext that she (Ita) would get her a good job.
According to Punch , one Destiny Bassey, 19, and 18-year-old Bright Effiong, who was said to have been at the inn for three years, were also picked up by the operatives.
During a parade on Tuesday at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters in Ikeja, the hotel operators admitted to providing service for the sex workers, except the 15-year-old girl.
The hotel manager, Thomas, said:
“It is true that we provide rooms for sex workers where men visit them.
We collect N5,000 from them (the sex workers) every week.
We don’t give them out to men; they bring their customers themselves.”
The 15-year-old told PUNCH Metro that Ita persuaded her to come to Lagos when she (Ita) saw her playing around the village.
She said, “I finished from primary school two years ago, but I could not continue my study because my parents died.
Aunty Monica (Ita) came to the village and asked me to follow her to Abuja. She said she would get me a good job.
“Some days after I got to Lagos, she took me to the hotel to do prostitution. I had yet to get a room when the police came to pick us.”
Bold and unabashed, Bassey, who gave her age as 25, said she slept with five men per day and collected N2,000 from each of her customers.
The Imo State indigene added that joblessness pushed her to the act.
She said, “Nobody forced me into prostitution. I have been hustling at the hotel for some years now.
I send part of the money I make to my relatives in the village for the upkeep of my child. I don’t have parents and my husband is dead.
“I sleep with five men every day, so I make as much as N10,000. I pay the hotel N5,000 every week. I wanted to save enough money for my education.”
Finally, Effiong, an indigene of Calabar, Cross River State, also said she went to bed with five men daily, adding that some of her customers paid N1,000.
“I came to the hotel last year and paid N3,000 per week for a room. I did only one round with each customer,” she added.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said the command swung into action following a tip-off that a syndicate was running a prostitution ring.
“A team of FSARS operatives stormed Collabor Hotel and arrested a 15-year-old girl.
She confessed that she was brought to the hotel some weeks ago by one Monica Ita.
The coordinators of the prostitution ring, Emmanuel Thomas and John Okon, were also arrested.
The case will be charged to court at the completion of investigation,” the CP added.

He also praised her for maintaining calmness in the house despite gossip and provocations from housemates.
This is following her refusal to insult and exchange words with Cee-c during a heated argument on Monday night.

The costs are ginormous to the extent that President Buhari had to fire PAUL Boroh a few days ago. Nigeria Can Certainly Afford N50,000 as starting “allawee” for its corp members. They deserve decent bush and feeding allowances too!’.
