A young woman from Brisbane, Australia, has shared the story of how she took the initiative to ask out her mail delivery guy through text message even before meeting him in person.
In an interview with South West News Service, Tanatsa Lucas, 30, revealed that she felt a strong connection with the courier, who is now her husband, Corey Lucas, 28, after a brief phone conversation.
“I was doing my nails at the time, and my delivery driver called,” the mom of two remembered. “He was speaking really nicely on the phone and was very respectful.”
“I could tell even being on the phone with him for less than a minute that there was just something different about him,” Tanatsa, a native of Zimbabwe, said.
Corey’s smooth talk over the phone prompted her to shoot her shot at him and ask him out for a drink.
“I asked him if he would mind dropping the package outside my apartment, as I was going to be going out soon,” she said. “Something inside me was telling me to shoot my shot and ask him out.”
“I was newly single. I don’t know what happened, but something just came over me and I just thought, ‘I may as well ask — you never know,’” Tanatsa said.
Barely an hour after Corey delivered her package, Tanatsa sent him a text message that reads, “You single by any chance? Haha.” Fortunately for her, he was also single and ready to mingle.
Tanatsa said she wanted to act like the character Paulette, played by Jennifer Coolidge in “Legally Blonde,” who had a crush on a UPS deliveryman portrayed by actor Bruce Thomas in the 2001 film.
After confirming his relationship status, Tanatsa and Corey went out for a beer at a local bar.
“It went really well; he was saying all the right things. We just totally clicked from our first meeting,” said Tanatsa. “He came back to my apartment, but nothing happened.”
However, things took a massive twist when she got pregnant three months later.
“That was not at all planned,” Tanatsa insisted. “I thought, ‘Oh s–t.’”
She said she was initially worried that her new lover would be upset about the pregnancy but she was relieved when he asked her to marry him.
“It was only six months after our first meet-up, so I was blown away, but I said yes,” Tanatsa gushed.
The couple got married in December 2020. A few months later, in June 2021, they welcomed their first son, Archie, who is now 2 years old. They also welcomed their second son, Theodore, in August 2023.
“We grew to love each other even more after our second baby,” she said. “We still had our challenges, I had post-natal depression after our first baby, but we developed an understanding and are doing great.
“The only difference is before we had kids it was all about us — we now have to balance it out,” added Tanatsa. “We are really hands-on with the kids together; it’s really nice.”
Anita Brown, the American woman who claims to be pregnant for Nigerian singer Davido, has publicly apologized to the singer’s wife, Chioma Adeleke.
This comes weeks after she made derogatory comments about Chioma on social media, stating that Chioma had undergone plastic surgery to achieve her curvaceous body, but it still ended up looking like ‘trash.’
She also implied that Davido wouldn’t have married Chioma if they hadn’t lost their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who tragically drowned in a swimming pool in October 2022.
Recall that Anita also released a song in which she advocated for Chioma’s freedom from what she described as a ‘toxic situation.’
Anita, who went on a rant for days and repeatedly criticized the singer and his wife, has now expressed remorse and tendered an apology to Chioma.
In a recent post on her Instagram page, Anita disclosed that she is currently going through a traumatic experience but doesn’t want to share details.
She added that she feels sorry for how she treated Chioma, acknowledging that losing a child and being hurt by someone’s partner is a terrible thing.
Anita wrote,
“I am going through a traumatic & tragic time in my life. I honestly don’t want to speak on it & don’t need to, or have to speak on it. It’s too much to bear right now. Im disquieted by all of the events that have taken place. The only thing i will say is i regret that i let my pain and feelings of betrayal allow me to turn me against another woman. So, i apologize to Chioma. / never intended to speak on you or your child. Losing is never a good feeling, being hurt by someone you love and care about is not a good feeling.
Moving forward I would prefer to be known for the light i bring into the world.
Peace & Love”

Popular comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth, has tendered a public apology to his colleague, AY Makun, over their long-standing beef.
In March, AY had revealed in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that it was N30,000 that caused his lingering rift with Basket Mouth.
His words,
“Now, something funny happened, one of the gigs per se, I got his endorsement to go stand in for him. Usually, what we get that time is N30,000, and that amount of money was everything to me. It would buy me my pack of noodles, recharge card, fuel for my car and generator. I would also avail myself of the opportunity to pay one or two people to do one or two skits that I can quickly put out. So, I got this job but the people were not too happy to see me at the venue because they were expecting Basketmouth.
Long story short, the guy was later happy with my performance and there was an exchange of numbers and I left. This gig came through one of Basketmouth’s guys. Two weeks running, I had not seen N30,000 and I was starving, as a bachelor, I had nothing. So, I decided to ask for N30,000 and he said the person had not paid.
“And then me l was like, ahahn… but this person na, shebi you tell me say you were impressed and happy? Give my oga hin money na, make my oga take settle me and all of that. Me,I dont care if you give Basket 100k for the job but my 30k is my 30k.
“It was very funny to now hear from them knowing that this full payment has been made long before the event.
“I said ‘O-kay, is that the situation?’. So I forwarded this one’s message to this one and vice versa. So they now started fighting each other and all of that. I didn’t do that because I wanted to get at Basketmouth per say. I did that because I was hungry, I was hustling and needed food on the table at the time.”
Nigerian music executive, Tunji Balogun, better known as Teebillz, has come to the defense of his colleague, Naira Marley, amidst his recent scandal.

This incident sparked outrage among Nigerians, leading to many fans unfollowing the singer on his various social media platforms.
While the anger has slowly subsided, Teebillz recently took to his Instagram page to make a case for Naira Marley, stating that he is too young and talented to be cancelled.
He added that Naira Marley gave Mohbad, also known as Imole, a chance when no one knew him, but now people are turning their backs on him.
In a now-deleted posted, Teebillz, who was formerly married to singer Tiwa Savage, wrote,
“#Too young too talented to throw under the bus of cancel culture! One of the best writers of the new age! Guilty by association is not a deliberate crime to me.

Nigerian disc jockey and activist, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, professionally known as DJ Switch, has criticized Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), for consistently urging Nigerians to pray for the country.

This drew criticism from some followers of the renowned clergyman. In response to one of her critics, DJ Switch clarified that she doesn’t expect Pastor Adeboye to curse Nigeria but to address the individuals responsible for the nation’s stagnation.
She wrote in a follow-up tweet,
“I expect him to curse the people that have plunged Nigeria into the deep poverty, corruption, lawlessness, backwardness, thuggery, terrorism and suffering many Nigerians are experiencing but because your brain is the size of a lint, I understand that you can only think in strands. Maybe spend some time, do some light reading to better to enhance your cognitive skills… only then can you begin to grasp the concept that a knife can either be a tool or a weapon! It all depends on who’s handling it. Happy dependence day!”

Reality tv star, Angel Smith has stated that if her colleague and love interest, Somadina Anyama, also known as Soma, makes a marriage proposal, she is willing to accept it.
In an interview with TVC, the former Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate made this claim and said that her relationship with Soma there was real and not just a ploy.
Angel asserted that she doesn’t give a damn about what other people think or say about their relationship since she values what they have together and wants it to last.

“What we [I and Soma] had in the house was very real. He might not be my person, honestly. We might not end up together. We might not get married. We may not end at that stage.
But if he does then yes, I’m open to that. So, for now, I would say he is my person at the moment. And he’s a sweetheart and I hope people know that he’s a sweetheart.
For me, I’m living in the moment. There’s no end goal for me. I enjoy this now. If it goes well, good. But if it doesn’t, we try again. Love shouldn’t end with one person. I really don’t care about people’s opinions. What I care about is my feelings.”
Veteran Nigerian comedian, Okey Bakassi, has disclosed that he received offers to sell narcotics both in Nigeria and overseas.
Bakassi revealed this during an interview with Channels TV, when he described how con artists and drug dealers tried to sway him with alluring promises.
The Nollywood actor stated that one should anticipate being contacted with such proposals and deals as a performer in Nigeria.
Bakassi claims that despite the lucrative nature of the drug trade, he turned down the offer out of respect for the law.
He also mentioned how those involved would appear in a celebrity’s hotel room and begin discussing drug sales as if it were a regular business that “everyone does.”
He said,
“When I came to Lagos as a young man, I was tempted by different people in so many ways. And I’m talking about fraudsters and drug dealers.
I was approached. When you are in entertainment, you will be approached to peddle drugs. I have been approached overseas, I have been approached in Nigeria by drug dealers.
They will just show up in your hotel and talk business. They will tell you other people who are doing it and making money. But it is dangerous.
For me, I want to be able to sleep well without being afraid of the police or any law enforcement agencies. So I have tried from day one to keep things simple and be happy.”
A lady who was brutally assaulted by her husband and was thought to be dead has reportedly awoken on the way to the mortuary.
The horrifying event came to light after the victim’s neighbour reported the horrifying domestic abuse case on the microblogging platform, X (previously Twitter).
In the first tweet, it was said that a wife had allegedly been fatally battered by her violent husband.
The horrific revelation sparked widespread outrage and demands for justice for the victim as it circulated on social media.
However, a little while after the original tweet, the same neighbour returned to Twitter and shared another astounding update.
She joyously reported that while being taken to the mortuary, the woman, who had previously been believed to be dead, showed signs of life.
She claims that the patient has now been admitted to the hospital and is in a critical state.
She wrote;
“I’m in extreme pain. My neighbor just beat his wife to death. He hit her head with a big stick and she died

BBNaija star Venita Akpofure has apologised to the Tiv nation for defaming them with her distasteful comment.
Recall that Venita had claimed that Tiv men give their wives to visitors for ‘entertainment purposes,’ implying that they allow their wives to sleep with their guests for entertainment.
This statement did not sit well with many TIV people, and they trooped to social media to criticise her and called for legal action against her.
In response, Hon. Dickson threatened to take legal action against Venita for her statement and BBNaija organisers for not disqualifying or reprimanding her for defaming their tribe.”
In an interview with media personality Hero Daniels after her eviction from BBNaija All Stars, the mother of two addressed the issue and expressed her regret for the careless comments, especially as her daughters are Tiv.
Venita said;
“The statement I made about Tiv people got twisted a bit. My daughters are actually Tiv. There’s no way I will be trying to make any kind of malicious or slanderous comment towards their people.
Actually, in my season we did a whole play around the Tor Tiv coronation which I participated in and was super excited about.
So, you know, sometimes you will say something maybe it is a little bit carelessly. And I think it got really misconstrued. And for those that are offended by it, I’m regretful about that.”
A video showing the moment reality TV star, Cynthia Nwadiora, better known as Ceec, expressed her disappointment and disbelief after her eviction from the Big Brother Naija “All Stars” season has gone viral online.
CeeC, who was one of the six finalists along with Mercy Eke, Ilebaye, Pere, Cross, and Adekunle, reached the top three but was ultimately evicted from the show, finishing as the second runner-up.
The 30-year-old lawyer clearly couldn’t believe her ears when the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, announced her name as the next housemate to exit the show, leaving Ilebaye and Mercy Eke behind.
After the announcement, she mouthed the words “Damn it” and wore a disappointed expression as she walked out of the house. 22-year-old housemate, Ilebaye was eventually announced winner of the show.
This has sparked a ton of reactions on social media, with many viewers of the show sharing their thoughts about CeeC’s eviction.
@amuma_sparkling wrote, “It is so sad after calling baye shit and she left before her. This just a message, never look down on anybody. That person might be above you tomrrow. ”
@adanze_h wrote, “That eviction shock Ceec to the bone. She’s just shocked Baye is still there”
Another IG user wrote, “E shock the werey…she think say na she and one other go off light”
@healthyshrinkers wrote, “Respectfully speaking, the people who voted for her(Ceec) must have a thing with toxicity. Ceec, needs to work on her character. It’s an issue. She may have her good sides but a bad car tire they say won’t take anywhere.”
Reality TV star, Ilebaye Odiniya, has emerged as the winner of the Big Brother Naija All Stars edition, securing the N120 million grand prize.
Recall that Ilebaye was up against her co-stars and fellow finalists, Mercy Eke, Ceec, Pere, Cross, and Adekunle, with a huge contention about who would win the show.
During the finale on Sunday, October 1, the 22-year-old Kogi-born housemate was crowned winner of the reality show after amassing the highest votes.
In her diary session earlier in the day, Ilebaye had revealed her plans if she were to win the show. She had stated that it would be a huge relief from all her worries and serve as a sign that God answers her prayers.
She had also expressed awe at the prospect of winning such a large amount of money. Biggie also noted that winning the show would make her the youngest millionaire in her family.
Fortunately, Ilebaye was announced as the winner of the eight edition of the biggest reality show in West Africa.
Interestingly, she is the first housemate among the six finalists who did not reach the finale in their respective seasons.
Nigerian singer, Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, popularly known as Brymo, has shed more light into his decision to reject a collaboration request from his female colleague, Simi.
Recall that Brymo caused a major controversy in July 2023 when he revealed that he turned down Simi’s request because she refused to sleep with him.
During a recent interview on TVC, the ‘Olanrewaju’ crooner explained that he had suggested intimacy with her to enhance the song’s intensity. However, when she declined, he rejected the collaboration request.
He further defended his sexual proposition to Simi, who was not married at the time, stating that it was for an artistic purpose.
His words;
“One day I was somewhere and I met Adekunle Gold, I was just like, ‘Oh! Gold.’ The first time I was ever meeting him. And he requested a collaboration… When he came to me, I just said flatly, ‘Oga, I’m not doing any collaboration right now.’
“Two weeks after, Simi came. I didn’t know they [Simi and Adekunle Gold were together]. I’m sure you all know about Falz. He took the fall that I was supposed to take. I was the target… But I’m a smart guy.
“When I saw her [Simi], I said no features except I am laying with the woman I am working with so it can really be intense. Did she not sleep with Adekunle Gold? Is that not why the music is extra good? But she said no, and I was like okay, bye-bye and then she left.
“She wasn’t the only one I proposed it to. But guess what? I’ve made music with seven women. I didn’t sleep with anyone of them.
“After that incident, I’ve recorded songs with four women. We didn’t even have that [sexual] conversation at all. We just made music. So, it wasn’t about me asking for sex for collaboration. No, no, it wasn’t about that. For me, it was an artistic pursuit.”
Big Brother Naija season 7 winner, Josephine Otabor, better known as Phyna, has reacted to a report claiming that she abandoned her family after winning the reality show.
Recall that the Edo-born reality TV star emerged as the winner of the show in 2022 and walked away with the N100 million grand prize.
However, her father recently revealed in an interview with Vanguard that she forgot about her family after winning the prize money.
According to him, the last time he saw her was when she was announced winner of the show, which was contrary to his initial belief that their family’s suffering would come to an end.
He also alleged that his daughter asked him to quit his job as a hearse driver and sell his vehicles. Unfortunately, after he sold his old cars, she didn’t provide any assistance, leaving him currently jobless. ICYMI, read here

“In the history of dragging ….. this is the first time I cried and it touched me
Let’s meet later on instagram live.”
In a follow-up post, she lashed out at Vanguard for incessantly calling and sending her text messages, seemingly in an attempt to get her side of the story.
She also threatened to sue the news outlet for publishing the report, alleging that her father was in distress.
The 26-year-old tweeted,
“I think it’s time for me to sue this useless Vanguard. They’ve been tormenting me with texts and calls.”
“I mistakenly picked one of the numbers 4 days back. Immediately I said hello, the useless man just said he is Ben Njoku from Vanguard, and the next thing this man started doing was asking me questions.”
“I just told him, ‘How can you come to me and start questioning me?’ Immediately, I then ended the call. He texted me immediately, saying that he is so sorry.”
“Now, you went back to your cupboard to say your father is crying, and your mother gave him a bastard son? Vanguard will crumble.”
“This is the number of the bastard that has been disturbing me from Vanguard. This particular cooking will choke you. You will hear from my lawyer.”

In other news, a Nigerian man, identified as Neo on the microblogging platform X, has opined that no sexually active woman can completely abstain from sex.
He shared this viewpoint in response to a viral tweet that asked netizens to share their unpopular opinions about sex that might invite criticism.
According to him, any non-virgin woman who refuses to sleep with a man does so because she either doesn’t like the man, wants to exploit his low self-esteem, engages in self-pleasure, or is involved with other men.
Read his full tweet below,
“There is not a single woman on earth who has tasted sex that can ever fully abstain, so when you meet a girl who is not a virgin and she tells you “no sex before marriage”, it’s not because she has found christ or she has learnt any lesson from all her previous whoring around, it is simply one of four things:
1)She does not rate or like you enough to do with you what she has been doing with other men so she is giving you silly conditions to push you away. Continue reading here
Mr. Felix Otabor, the father of Josephine Otabor, better known as Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija season 7, has alleged that she abandoned her family after winning the N100m grand prize.
In a recent interview with Vanguard, Mr. Felix said the last time he saw his daughter was when she was announced as the winner of the reality TV show in 2022.
He believed that when she hit the jackpot, his family’s suffering would come to an end, but to his dismay, nothing changed.
According to him, Phyna disappeared and abandoned her family as soon as she received the prize money. He claimed that he only sees her when she posts pictures on social media.
He also alleged that his daughter asked him to stop working as a hearse driver and sell his vehicles. Unfortunately, after he sold his old cars, she didn’t provide any assistance, leaving him currently jobless.
His words,
“I haven’t seen Phyna, my daughter since she won BBNaija ‘Level Up’ edition last year. She hasn’t returned home since then. I don’t know why? I am a professional hearse driver, and when she won the reality TV show, she asked me to do away with all my old cars, promising to change my life. But since then, I haven’t seen her. And I don’t have a car again. Once in a while, the Vice-Chairman of our association will allow me to drive his own car.
“I sold all my four cars because at the time , my daughter won the show. I thought that God had finally answered our prayers. I called her on the telephone, and she said God has blessed us. She asked me to do away with all my old cars, or she would give them out to Aboki, any day she returned. So, instead of allowing her to dash out my cars to scavengers, I decided to sell them as scraps and used the proceeds to renovate my house. And that was the beginning of my suffering. I stopped doing my business because I had no car again. And my neighbours thought I was either stingy or pretending as if my daughter just won a N100 million grand prize. I was the Vice-Chairman of our association, but when I couldn’t show up at our station for some time, they replaced me with another person.
“From that moment, things started getting tough for me. I am even looking for somebody who will give me a car on hire purchase. I need help; it has come to that point. I don’t want to die in silence.”
“I only see her on Facebook or Instagram whenever she shares new photos on these platforms.”
