At a funeral service of a man in Umuduru Village, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, an alleged drunk sex worker got into sexual activity with a man who was actually there for the mournful ceremony, right in front of other sympathizers.
Sympathizers were shocked at what was going on right in front of them, so they descended on the duo – the sex worker escaped but the man wasn’t so lucky as the youths at the funeral descended on him with beatings. Fortunately for him though, he was rescued by the elders of the community.
According to Southern City News after the elders rescued the man, they asked him to present them with six cartons of beer and some money, which they’d use to appease the gods of the land. Read what an anonymous witness said about the incident below:
“This abominable act took place during a burial ceremony of a lady at Umuduru Village, Ihiala.
“It was gathered from an eyewitness that a woman believed to be a commercial sex worker living in one of the brothels in this community, apparently under an influence, said she wanted to perform `a show’.
“As part of the show, she stripped and dragged a young man simply known as `Chinwuba’ from Ogboro Umunwaji Village in Ihiala out of the crowd. Both engaged in a sex orgy right in front of onlookers with impunity.
“Some angry youths pounced on them and in the process, the lady escaped. But Chinwuba was not that lucky. It took the intervention of the elders who restrained the irate youths from sending the man to his early grave. “The elders fined him six cartons of beer and an undisclosed amount of money. They (elders) said the fine was to appease the gods of the land for the abominable act,” the source stated.
Ricardo Kaka, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and FIFA’s World Player of the Year in 2007, announced his retirement from the game on Sunday.
The Brazilian left MLS in October, parting ways with Orlando City and there was much speculation on what he would do next.
He said:
“I needed time to think and take a very calm decision, very calm and very aware of what I will want for my professional life, I went to Europe to watch some games, to feel the emotion of the game there, where football really has its highest point.
And very aware, I came to a conclusion that it’s time to end my career as a professional footballer.”
Reports circulated around two specific offers: a return to his first love Sao Paolo for a one-year contract and another non-playing role as club director at AC Milan.
Upon these news, it seems more likely he will join Milan, and take his first steps towards a management career.
“To do it like [Zinedine] Zidane is a good idea,” Kaka said to Globo back in October, when discussing his plans for the future.
“He stopped, took some time away, decided if it was something he actually enjoyed, studied, did a course, built his way up. I’m that way inclined too. Now, there are people who believe I am already ready.”, he added.
The 35-year-old Professional footballer then took to his twitter page to thank God and as well confirm his retirement.
He wrote:
“Father, It was much more than I could ever imagined. Thank you! I’m now ready for the next journey. In Jesus name. Amem.
Pai, Foi muito mais do que eu pedi ou imaginei!Obrigado! Eis-me aqui para próxima jornada. Em nome de Jesus. Amém.”

Today, 18th of December, 2017, barring any last minute change, Nigerian dancehall singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, will be arraigned in court today, December 18th over his alleged connection in the robbery attack of his colleague, Mr 2Kay, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in October.
The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, in November, had declared Burna Boy ‘wanted‘ after his manager, Joe Kantiock, and two of the robbery suspects, confessed that the singer ordered and paid money for the attack to be carried out.
After many weeks of not honoring the police invitation, Burna Boy last Friday, December 15th, reported himself to the police command headquarters in Ikeja. He was interrogated and then detained and will be arraigned in court this morning.
New reports have it that Saudi Arabia’s Crowned Prince Mohammed bin Salman is the buyer of a French Chateau Louis XIV that became the world’s most expensive property when it sold for $300million in 2015.
According to reports, the palace which boasts of Chapel-style vaulted ceiling, aquarium moat, cinema, underground nightclub, wine cellar, home theatre and a moat filled with koi carp was kept hidden at the time behind a series of shell companies based in France and Luxembourg.
But after an investigation by the New York Times, it was found that the companies are all owned by Eight Investment Company, a Saudi firm managed by the head of the prince’s personal foundation.
Advisers to the Saudi royal family confirmed to the Times that the palace ultimately belongs to Salman.
Before the chateau was sold to Salman, Kim Kardashian was spotted checking out the property as a potential venue for her wedding to Kanye.
The Times also believe that the crown prince is behind the recent purchase of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi which became the most expensive artwork after it was sold for $450million earlier this month,
Although, Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan al-Saud, another Saudi prince, was named as the buyer of the painting.

Looks like the contract saga between award-winning singer, Kiss Daniel and his former record label, G-worldwide is not nearly over.
Recall, it was reported how Kiss Daniel earned 30k monthly salary for a long time and how he legally terminated his contract a few months back.
In case you missed it, the label stated that the singer is in breach of contract and is evading court papers, his legal team, L&A Associates then released an exhaustive statement detailing Daniel’s dealings with the label, the unfair treatment of their client and more.
G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd had dragged Kiss Daniel to court for “taking steps to appoint a new manager, solicit for bookings, and has continued to negotiate and enter performance agreements in respect of the songs from the album “New Era,” and “Evolution” which is set to be released soon.”
In the statement released by Kiss Daniel’s lawyers, they said he only terminated the contract as he was permitted to do under the contract.
The contract was drafted by G-Worldwide, the lawyers wrote, and they inserted a termination clause in the contract, which Kiss Daniel activated.
Well, LIB revealed in new investigation into the on-going saga between Nigerian pop star, Kiss Daniel and his former label, G-Worldwide as the label finally opened to react to recent reports from the singer’s camp.

Now, in a recent Tweet apparently directed to someone but for everyone to get something from, the “Woju” crooner wrote:
“Quit wishing you were someone else. You don’t need that anointing. Quit comparing/Complaining and run your race.”
Mavin Records artist, Reekado Banks has driven off the notion that this year hasn’t been financially rewarding for him and his fellow label mates as previous years.
The “Catapult” crooner stated emphatically that though 2017 still has about two weeks before it ends, he made more than twice the amount of money he made last year from his music.
The singer, who stated this in an interview with Sunday Scoop, said people can keep saying whatever they like about the state of his finances, he is the least bothered because they don’t have access to his bank account.
He said:
“Every artiste should know how to quantify their success. This year has not ended, but I have made more money than I did last year or the previous year. It is just the perception of some people who think this year has not been good for Reekado. I’ve made more than double of what I made last year. So, if you think last year was good for Reekado, I can confidently tell you that this year is far better”
On his label mates, especially Mavin First Lady, Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks had this to say:
“I am sure Tiwa Savage would not say that this year hasn’t been a good one. She dropped hit songs and she is fully booked for December. I am fully booked for December too and the same thing applies to other artistes under Mavin. So, I don’t understand why people are comparing last year with this year”.
A 25 year old man, Aliyu Mohammadu, who was arrested by men of the Niger state police command for cutting off his cousin’s manhood says he does not regret it.
Mohammadu who resides in Babana Borgu in New Bussa local government area of Niger state, attacked his cousin, Ibrahim, for allegedly stealing his N3,500.
While being paraded at the state police command, Mohammadu said he caught Ibrahim taking the money from his room and ran away. A visibly angry Mohammadu, said he does not regret his action and will do more harm to the victim if he does not get his money back.
“What I need is my N3,500, otherwise I am going to do more harm in the family. I have two wives and two children to cater for, I need my money to look after them.
When I confronted him on his way to farm, he told me to go and look for where I kept my money, insisting that I should not disturb him again about the money.
I got annoyed and attacked him with my cutlass which resulted cutting off his manhood. My cousin was rude to me after he made away with my N3,500, he fought me, that was why I cut off genital organ leaving him in a pool of blood,” he said
While speaking to newsmen, the Niger state Police Public Relations Officer, Peter Sunday said the victim was rushed to a specialist hospital in Ilorin, Kwara State for treatment and he is currently undergoing treatment. Mohammadu is currently in police custody.
Ovation Magazine Boss, Dele Momody and DMW Boss, Davido are at peace once again.
The Ovation Magazine publisher took to his Instagram to share photos from his Ovation concert where the FIA singer performed, adding that they have finally reconciled their differences.
“True reconciliation, great joy… God bless DAVIDO… God bless DR ADEDEJI ADELEKE for his uncommon maturity… God bless the MOMODU family for that simple heart,” said the publisher, adding, “We are a family.”
Recall that the family drama started in 2015, after Dele Momodu and his cousin Sophia (who is the mother of Davido’s daughter Imade) stopped the singer from jetting off with Imade.
Sophia accused Davido’s family of snatching her daughter and refusing her access to the child, while Davido alleged that they were taking the child to Dubai for medical checkup. He published a pathology report which claimed that the child contracted cannabis through breastmilk.
This allegation stirred major feud between both families as Sophia expressly denied the accusation and even demanded that Davido’s father, who is a medical doctor, should run tests on her.
The back-and-forth carried on for many months, as neither party was ready to let go of their grievances.
Well, Davido eventually made peace with the mother of his child, and now has reconciled with her uncle, Dele Momodu. And fans are super glad for them.
Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, in a statement released yesterday, to celebrate Nigeria’s President Buhari who clocked 75, said the president came into power at a time when the country was on the verge of being grounded.
He added that President Buhari’s drive to see a better Nigeria will earn him twice more votes in 2019 than what he got in 2015. The statement signed by his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, reads in part;
“The governor described president Buhari as the man God had used to save the country from total collapse. At the time Buhari became president, the nation was at the verge of being grounded unknown to some people and then thanked God for his grace upon the land, called Nigeria. In 2019 the votes the president will get for his second tenure will be two times more than the votes he got in 2015 because most Nigerians have come to appreciate the necessity of his coming and what he is doing with the office.
In 2019 too, most of the political parties will not sponsor presidential candidates including some of the big parties to enable them support Buhari presidency, and to enable the President finish the good works he has begun and also lay a very solid foundation for those coming after him”.
Eniola Balogun, 20 has been jailed after being convicted of multiple rapes following two trials.
Balogun pleaded guilty at Wood Green Crown Court on 19 September to four counts of rape on four separate teenage girls, aged between 13 and 16 – he also pleaded guilty to the possession of indecent images of child.
Balogun had been found guilty of a further three counts of rape following an earlier trial at the same venue on 30 March. These offences related to one victim – a 16-year-old girl.
He was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday, 15 December to a total of 21 years’ imprisonment – the Judge also ordered Balogun is subject to an extended licence period of eight years which will come into effect on his release from prison.
Balogun will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order. Balogun was living with his family in Tottenham at the time of his offending.
Whilst there, between June and August 2016, he persuaded young girls through social media (Snapchat and Instagram) or in the street, to send him indecent photographs.
Armed with these photos, he threatened to distribute the images unless they met up with him. When they met up, he raped them. On all occasions, Balogun took their phones off them and promised to return their phones after sexual contact.
Two of the victims were threatened with violence if they resisted. The five victims, aged between 13 and 16 years old, met up at a variety of locations in Tottenham, Harlow, Thamesmead and Woolwich. Some victims were told to perform sexual acts via video on more than one occasion.
Nearly a month ago, Nigerian rapper, Phyno held his annual ‘Phynofest Concert‘ in Enugu which sold out as thousand showed up to watch the rapper perform.
Just last night a tweet went viral on Twitter of how at least 20 girls were raped at the event – Twitter user, @obuteaku1, tweeted:
‘Girls who paid money to attend a music show were raped. In a stadium, full of people… Girls were raped. Girls are not safe anywhere, crowded or deserted. And you tell me men are not scum’.
She went on to say, ‘Over 20 girls were raped. The ones that are confirmed o‘.
In reaction to the claims, the rapper took to the platform to share how the stadium was heavily guarded at the time and how it almost would’ve been impossible for such to happen.
A Nigerian bride is going viral online over a photo of her and her bridesmaids – shouldn’t be anything special, should it? we see brides and bridesmaids virtually every Saturday, init? – well, the peculiarity of this bride, is actually her bridesmaids.
As seen in the now viral photo, the apparent Nigerian bride is surrounded by lovely bridesmaids who definitely don’t share neither her skin tone nor her tribe.
The lovely Nigerian bride, obviously Yoruba, can be seen in her Iro and Buba with Gele attire, while her bridesmaids look every bit like Nigerians in their traditional wears – even a baby is seen donning a Fila… lol… how cool.
Today is head of states, President Muhammadu BUhari’s 75th birthday and as the nation wishes her leader a happy birthday, Nigerian politician, Femi Fani-Kayode is not left out in dishing out wishes too.
Fani Kayode took to his social media page to write to the President, how he can give them the best birthday gift. He wrote:
I congratulate @MBuhari on his 75th birthday even though I disagree with him on virtually everything and I deplore his agenda and ways. I believe his that he has been a disaster as Pres. and that the best birthday gift he can give Nigerian people is his resignation letter.
Major brand in Nigeria, Guinness has fulfilled its promise of bringing Football legend and Skysports pundit, Thierry Henry to Nigeria.
Some moments ago, the icon touched down Nigeria and from the photos taken of him, one can see the aura of excitement around him as he’s all smiles while greeting his fans.
A grieving Debra Parsons, 41, will have her mum, Doreen, as part of her Christmas dinner this year – by scattering her ashes on the turkey then tucking in, Daily Mirror reports.
And for dessert she’ll enjoy Christmas Pud… with a dusting of her mum’s last remains too. Debra has felt the urge to EAT Doreen’s ashes since she died in May and has had a small spoonful most days to feel “as close as possible” to her.
But as she faces Christmas without her, the craving has become even stronger. “It is the only thing that will get me through my first Christmas without mum,” said Debra.
Debra’s fiancé – not named – has supported her through her grief and they plan to marry next year.
“I am lucky that my loved ones understand what I am doing,” said Debra, of Folkestone, Kent.
“And I know my mum would have been happy for me to do whatever I needed to get over no longer having her in my life.”
You see, we all have agreed that voting Buhari was an avoidable mistake that we held our hands and walked into.
We fell for stupid things like “But, he’s a lesser devil”. Hello, devil is devil. The lesser one is even one to be more afraid of because he can get worse because all devils do is get worse.
We fell for “He’s broke na. He has cow in his village. He even played bet to raise money for campaign”
We fell for “Jonathan is a woman. He is so soft. We need a hard man”. We voted an hard man who not only showed his hardness. He made this hardness a national anthem.
Today is his birthday. 75 years old. He has tried. Months ago many wished him death and even prophesied that he will die because he was very sick. Very!
Today, he is still alive while some who said he should die are in the morgue chilling.
You understand?
I give it to him. He’s a stong man.
But, sir, can you please tone down this hardness? It is painful. It is paining all of us in different places.
It is paining me when there is no light and fuel sells for 180.
It is paining me when my friends lose their jobs because economy has k leg.
It is paining me when I’m on the road doing a 2hr trip and on the 4th hour I haven’t gone half way.
It is paining me that Christmas is here and I don’t have any savings.
Why?
Because since you came in, problems are like the five fishes and bread Jesus used to perform miracles. They don’t finish.
Even when they do, there are full baskets everywhere!
Please, we are not asking too much.
Eat money.
All of it.
But, give us road, light, water, standard education, standard medical systems.
Carry other money and go.
Okay?
Happy birthday.
I won’t wish you long life and prosperity because you have both in abundance.
Cheers.

Foreign singer, K. Michelle was a guest on the TV show, The Real, where she disclosed her plans to take out her butt implants because it is now weighing heavily on her legs and causing her leg pains.
She told the hosts that she got the butt implants in the first place because she was having self esteem issues – according to her, she said she felt the bigger her butt, the more love she will get from men so she got work done on her boobs, butt, and hips, but it is now causing her so much discomfort as her legs are too small to carry the weight.
She has been to several doctors to have it removed but most didn’t want to touch it. She says she has now found a doctor who is willing to work on her.

About 10 months ago, Nollywood actress, Funke Adesiyan was in the news for blasting President Buhari for extending his vacation/medical leave in London indefinitely on Sunday.
Funke had said then that she’s ‘not disappointed in this egoistic, deceitful, two faced tyrant of a president as I did not vote for him’ – her lambaste was quite controversial, as she even took swipes at leading citizens like, Asiwaju Tinubu, Prof Wole Soyinka, Adams Oshiomole and others.
Fast forward to today, the actress according to a new post on her IG page, has announced her decision to join the same political party she lambasted some months back.
Funke wrote on her page:
My journey into politics was borne out of my passion and desire to touch people’s lives positively. Having realised that there was little I could achieve in my private capacity, I decided to put myself in the political landscape of the country. That resolve has never changed. My mission has always been to make life easy for the man next door. While that could not be achieved on a different platform in #2015 due to factors that would not be necessary to delve into at this time; it is my joy to announce today that I am joining the #progressives with the same resolve. My commitment and loyalty to whatever or whoever I believe in is unwavering, unflagging and unflinching. I assure my people of my unalloyed commitment to a life more abundant. This can only be achieved by working side by side with individuals who are also driven by the same passion to achieve an egalitarian society.
God bless Nigeria
God bless Oyo State.

A Nigerian lady on Facebook, Ifeoma Vivian Emeka, has taken to the platform to apprise ladies of her discovery of how their crazed hair extensions – weavons, wigs, human hair and all – are demonic and can take them to hell.
Some months ago, a pastor too had admonished his members of the same thing as he told them they were wearing “snakes” on their heads and they shouldn’t partake in the usage of the extensions.
Vivian now, alongside a photo of her some of the wigs she set ablaze, has warned her fellow sisters to sto braiding their hairs or fixing them if it’s possible.
She wrote:
I JUST BURNT ALL MY WEAVONS,WIGS ..PLEASE IF YOU ARE A GIRL BURN YOUR WEAVONS AND WIGS IT IS DEMONIC AND CAN LEAD YOU TO HELL PLEASE DO IT NOW . EVERY WOMAN IF POSSIBLE STOP BRAIDING OR FIXING…
G-worldwide Entertainment artiste, Sugarboy in an exclusive chat with Showtime, has said he’d definitely be bigger than Wizkid and Bob Marley, and perhaps become the biggest artist in the world.
“It’s been a great year for me; particularly because it’s the year I dropped my album and it’s the year I really got to be known. I’m grateful to my label for that; it’s hard work and with God’s help I’ll become the biggest music artiste in the world; not big like Wizkid but big like the late Bob Marley by God’s grace”, he said.
Speaking further, he bragged of how big he has become in less than three years of breaking into limelight.
“The Sugar Boy brand has been growing since 2015; I was unknown before 2014 but since 2015 it’s been a growing brand, it’s not an overnight thing. Sugar Boy is a force to be reckoned with; I’m the future, the same way they saw Wizkid back in the day when Banky W asked people to watch out for him, that’s who I’m right now, by God’s grace I’ll be a music mogul in years to come.”
Following the refusal of Nigeria Law School to call Miss Firdaus Amasa to bar for refusing to take off her hijab last week, another female law graduate from University of Ilorin, Laylah Al-Mubarakah has vow to attend the same programme next year with her hijab on.
Miss Firdaus Amasa
The father of the lady, Alhaji Abubakar Aliagan, a lecturer in the university of Ilorin went to social media, “Imam Ali-Agan” to announce the resolve of his daughter in solidarity with Firdaus. He stated that,
“MY DAUGHTER, EVEN IF AM NOT ALIVE AND THE MATTER IS NOT RESOLVED……..YOU RECEIVE MY BLESSINGS……..IN THE LIKE MANNER THE FATHER OF FIRDAUS IS NOT DISTURBED”
Alhaji ABubakar Aliagan wrote on his facebook page as follows:
Firdaus Amasa is a daughter of a dear friend. She was not call to bar because she was adamant on her Islamic mode of dress.
She was a year ahead of my daughter at the Faculty of law, University of Ilorin. When her courageous father, Mallam Oba Amasa, came to my house ( he sometimes pray the SALAT in my mosque) to break the news to me, my only regret is that Firdaus was left alone in this struggle. How I wish my daughter is there this year to stand behind her.
Whether this matter is settled amicably in the court or not, my daughter, LAYLAH AL-MUBARAKÀH, has vowed to be the next victim. She wrote the following lines in her blog.
Reading the news that our courageous sister, Amasa Al jannah Fidaos was not called to the Nigerian bar because she refused to remove her hijab brought tears to my eyes. Is Fidaos the only muslim lawyer out there? Others should have joined her. I wish there were more muslim females like her. To some you may think what she has done is rebellious. But to me it is courageous and she has maintained her stand as a muslim.
Imagine this, A girl has been brought up in the way ordained by Allah right from her birth, she has been wearing the hijab from then, She has never for once remove her hijab just for the sake of being called to bar she has to remove it. Removing the Hijab is being Unclad.
I have been asked several times that will i remove my hijab when i am to be called to Nigerian Bar? I always answer that I dont know. But Now, I have my answer, Amasa al jannah firdaos has provided the answer.
The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria particularly Chapter 4, Section 38 (1) of the 1999 constitution and Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Right, provide:“Every person shall be entitled to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, including freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom (either alone or in community with others, and in public or in private) to manifest and propagate his religion or belief in worship, teaching, practice and observance.” Is denying her entrance in to the hall because she is wearing the hijab not an infringement on her right to practise her religion?
To Firdaos, you were our Ameerah in National Association of Muslim Law Students Unilorin Chapter and you led us well, When you were the Ameerah, through your humility and selflessness you inspired me to be like you . Now you have laid the foundation to justice and i pray and hope your efforts will be acknowledged. I celebrate you and to me you are a Legend.
This is a wake up call to every muslim in Nigeria, to fight for this injustice and use the position and power the Almighty has bestowed on you all to fight for this injustice.
MY DAUGHTER, EVEN IF AM NOT ALIVE AND THE MATTER IS NO.
Imam Ali-Agan is a lecturer in the Department of Religions, University of Ilorin, the Proprietor of An-Nur Islamic College, and the Chief Imam of An-Nur Central Mosque, all in Ilorin.

Big Brother Nigeria 2017 First runner-up, Bisola Aiyeola, has in an interview with Inside Nollywood, opened up on her biggest achievements in life.
The singer/actress disclosed that her biggest achievement was giving birth to her daughter, Leyla.
“I will always say having my daughter was my biggest achievement, then also making my family proud. And as the years go by, God willing, I’ll achieve more and more”, she told Inside Nollywood.
On speculations in some quarters that most female celebrities don’t know how to cook, she said;
“I would not say that a lot of our ladies do not know how to cook these days. I actually think that we need to have a cooking day and you would be amazed at what the ladies would offer. Times are changing; we have technology taking over and everyone is trying to be an entrepreneur. And just because of the long hours that we spend at work, many opt for the restaurants and fast food joints. That does not mean that they cannot cook. As a matter of fact, you would be amazed at the meals that the ladies are cooking these days”.
Recall, the Ex-Big Brother housemate recently shared her preference between a man who’s good in bed and a man who’s rich and not necessarily good in bed.
Bisola, speaking with Broadway TV was particular about her answers as she says she rather be with a man with money over a man who is good in bed.
Asked what she looks out for in a man, his height or his face… she says:
Personally, I’m not about physical qualities… No.. if he can make me laugh, I’m good, I’m good with someone who has a fantastic sense of humour… so I’m not really particular about how he looks, how tall he is, how short he is, his skin complexion, nah.
When she was asked to be good in bed or to be rich, Bisola said:
If you’re rich, you can buy the goodness of the bed.. (laughs) oh my goodness, I think people overrate this good in bed something, good in bed, after the goodness of the bed, you’re now hungry who that one help? You’ll not even have strength to be good you know… I’d rather you have the quid, yeah…
It all started when a Muslim Lady, Firadau Amasa, refused to remove her Hijab at the call to bar ceremony on Wednesday, and ended up not being called to bar.
Nigerian lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, this afternoon, shared this photo of a Nigerian nun who had to remove her religious attire for that of the legal profession. He argues that the nun could have also added her ‘headgear’ to her legal attire since she wants to respect her husband, Jesus Christ.
Here’s what he wrote; “Nobody is above the law. Look critically at this photo and make your comments. If you don’t like heat, do not go into the kitchen. If you hate war and fighting, do not join the Army. If you do not want to abide by the dress code of the Legal profession, do not aspire to be a lawyer. You cannot have it both ways.”
Inibehe also reacted to the tweet by the president of the Nigeria Bar Association, Abubakar Mahmoud, that the controvery against the use of Hijab is needless and will be addressed.
Using the picture of his daughter which he, Mahmoud posted, Inibehe pointed out to the NBA boss that Sharia courts and the Nigerian courts in general does not allow women wear trousers during practice.
“Look at this photo shared by the NBA President. Her daughter wore a trouser; look at the type and colour of her shoe; look the size and colour of her hijab.”
“No lawyer in Nigeria, not even in the so-called Sharia States in the North, can appear before a Judge with any of those. In Nigeria, female lawyers do not wear trousers.”
“Those relying on the statement of the NBA President should ask questions. It will be ridiculous for us to mend our Rules and Conventions simply because of what is obtainable elsewhere.”
“When this lady applied for American visa, I will like to know whether she had her hijab on while taking photographs and during the screening? Mr. A. B. Mahmoud SAN should tell us.”
“Islam forbids women from touching men who are not their husbands. But don’t we have female nurses and female security personnel? Do they not interact with the opposite sex in the course of their work?”
“Hijab as I understand, is only worn by female Muslims to shield them from unnecessary attention. It is just a protective apparel. The wig also serves same purpose. Hijab is just a piece of fabric that is made and sold to those who want to wear it.”
“No woman was born with a hijab. If you want to join a profession like law, you must be ready to abide by its tenets. You cannot expect the profession to adjust its rules just to suit your religious beliefs.”
“I am not scared of being labelled or insulted by the Social Media Hisbah Police who have taken it upon themselves to attack anyone who disagrees with their opinion. I do not care what you think of me. I don’t have respect for religious bigots.”
“If you have followed me for long, you would have known that I am far more critical of questionable things and practices that I find in Christianity.”
“Labelling me anti-Islam is not just nonsense but certified nonsense.”
