An Instagram user, Adenike has expressed her anger, after some Muslims blocked a road in Victoria Island, to observe their Friday prayers, thereby causing serious traffic jam in the area.

“Come on guys. Come on!!! This is a Local Council Development Area, Iru-Victoria Island, that has a mosque.

Come on guys… Really??? How do you BLOCK the road to PRAY? How??? I had to park, because there was just ONE alternate route, that was locked down.

And yes, when MY church starts to PRAY on the road, I will do same. For now, it’s TRAFFIC caused by cars leaving or going into church. (Different from this). NOT impressed one bit…

The world’s richest woman and heiress to the L’Oreal cosmetics fortune, Liliane Betterncourt has died at the age of 94.

The socialite and businesswoman passed away in the early hours of Thursday at her home in Paris, her daughter Françoise Bettencourt-Meyers said in a statement.

She said:

“She would have been 95 on 21 October, My mother left peacefully.”

Recall, Last year Ms Bettencourt was ranked the richest woman in the world with a fortune of $39.5bn (£29bn), by Forbes magazine. It made her the world’s 14th richest person.

In a statement, L’Oréal chairman and CEO Jean-Paul Agon expressed his condolences to the family and said: “We all had a deep admiration for Liliane Bettencourt who has always watched over L’Oréal, the company and its employees, and who was very attached to its success and development.

She was rarely seen in public since she left the board of the French company in 2012, but continued to make headlines after members of her team were charged with exploiting her as her mental health deteriorated.

A French celebrity photographer was sentenced to two and a half years after Ms Battencourt showered him with gifts including Picasso paintings, life insurance funds and millions of euros in cash.

Born in Paris, she was the only child of Louise Madelaine Berthe and Eugene Schueller, who founded L’Oreal. Her mother died when she was just five years old, leaving her to form a close bond with her father.

She joined the family business when she was just 15, before inheriting the empire when her father died in 1957.

Hardcore p-rnography was shown on TV screens positioned around a children’s ice-skating rink when sets inside a shopping centre were ‘hacked’ in St Petersburg.

An investigation is under way in the Russian city after the raunchy clip appeared while youngsters enjoyed the Rio shopping centre’s rink.

The centre’s managers said they will punish those responsible.

It is believed that hackers broadcast the p-rn film in place of the public information messages and advertisements that normally appear on the screens.

Fortunately, there was no sound with the four-minute clip and most children on the ice did not even notice the rude interruption.

The ice rink was installed in the shopping centre as somewhere for parents to leave their children while they shop.

The clip was posted with the comment: “Skating on children’s rink and watching p-rn.”

UDUSOK Student Dies After Writing His Degree Examinations (Photo)

A student of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto formerly University of Sokoto, Abdulrahman Ismail has been announced dead by his school mates.

The deceased who had just concluded his degree program at UDUSOK reportedly died at the early hours of Thurday at about 4am.

The school’s page on Facebook made the announcement of his death in which the cause of the death was not indicated.

The school wrote:

ﺇﻧﺎ ﻟﻠﻪ ﻭﺇﻧﺎ ﺇﻟﻴﻪ ﺭﺍﺟﻌﻮﻥ
Every soul shall have a taste of death and only on the Day of the Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense. Only those who are saved from the fire and admitted to Paradise (Jannah) will have attained the object (of life).
For the life of this world is but good and chattels of deception.” (Qur’an Surah Imran; 3:185).

An 18 year old student is currently in a dilemma, and she has no idea what to do, after she got pregnant for a married man.

She wrote her story to a relationship adviser and blogger, Joro Olumofin.

Hi Sir Adejoro,

Please am in need of advise. I’m a student schooling abroad. Have been having an affair with a married man. I met him summer last year. I was shopping with friends and he paid for everything.

He’s like a best friend to me we facetime always, and do facetime sex. He takes my advise seriously in his life, I supported his businesses in growing… I found out I’m pregnant by way of urine tests. I’m 2 months gone i think. It’s illegal to do abortions in the city I am. I haven’t told him yet.

A part of me wants to keep it. He has expressed the need for wanting a son. He has all daughters with his wife in Nigeria. I really love him. What if it’s a boy? I’m catholic anyways and it’s a sin to abort.

I have never thought about being a second wife but he doesn’t love his wife. He loves me. He just copes with her because they grew up together. He cries when we have sex. Like tears of joy.

Lagos Government Asks CP To Produce Cobbler Detained For Years

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Office of the Public Defender, has asked the state High Court to prevail on the state police command to produce a cobbler, Shakoor Zaid.

Zaid has been in the custody of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the command in Ikeja for over two years without being allowed access to his mother and relatives or charged to court.

The OPD, in a suit filed before the Lagos State High Court on behalf of Shakoor sought an order compelling the Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi to “unconditionally” admit him to bail.

According to PUNCH Metro, the 33-year-old was arrested on April 17, 2015, in his residence on Afolabi Alasia Street, Ijora Badia, by SARS operatives who raided the area after a fight. The police accused him of participating in the fight.

In the March 22, 2017, report, Shakoor’s mother, Jumoke Zaid, explained how one Sergeant Godwin Ogedengbe, the Investigating Police Officer, and his colleagues, prevented her from seeing her son.

She alleged that the operatives collected N2,000 from her each time he visited the SARS office in anticipation of speaking with Shakoor.

She said:

“Shakoor was arrested inside his apartment. His brother and I went to the SARS office in Ikeja. We met one policeman, Ade, aka Bullet. He said Ogedengbe was investigating the case and that guns and cutlasses were recovered from the scene of the fight. Bullet said somebody told them to waste Shakoor.

I went there several times, but they didn’t allow me to see him. Relatives of other suspects arrested with Shakoor were allowed to see them. Each time I went there, I paid N2,000 for his feeding. At a point, they stopped collecting money from me.

On June 26, 2015, the six other persons were arraigned in court. I asked Ogedengbe why my son was not arraigned, but he did not give me any answer. At a point, he started avoiding me. He told me to meet his uncle, Mr. Rilwan Zaid, if I wanted my son to be freed.”

However, the uncle had denied instigating Shakoor’s arrest. After failed attempts to see her son, the woman said he had petitioned the OPD in 2016 and a lawyer was assigned to handle the case.

She, however, said the lawyer was indifferent to the matter.

It was gathered that the OPD invited Jumoke after The PUNCH’s report and another lawyer, O. A. Azeez, was assigned to handle the matter.
