The order of the day on Social Media is scam, the other day, we brought you screenshots of a scammer who cloned Ini Edo’s Facebook account, and tried to scam a reader of N50,000. (See the screenshots here, if you missed it).
Now, a reader has shared with us, screenshots of the conversation he had with another scammer, who pretends to be hushpuppi.
The scammer uses the Twitter Handle, @Hushpuppiray to scam unsuspecting victims. He tells his victims to send money to his manager, so he can double them.
When you do, you’d get blocked, and there’d be no way to recover your money.. Because hushpuppi has warned the public, that HE HAS NO TWITTER ACCOUNT.
President of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has described as sinful, the act of Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose a Christian, wearing the Muslim regalia, to the Eid ground for the Sallah prayers on Friday, September 1st. A photo of Fayose wearing the Islamic regalia above.
In a statement released yesterday, Akintola condemned Fayose for using the religious gathering to deliver political a speech which according to Akintola is an “executive hocus pocus, highly sacrilegious and unduly provocative. It is Act I, Scene I in the Theater of the Absurd.” Akintola said Fayose came to the Eid ground to campaign for the next person who would take over his office.
He added that electorates now have to demand a psychiatric test to be conducted on those that wish to assume political office.
His statement in part reads “He has delivered several anti-Muslim speeches. His general attitude and body language to Muslims of Ekiti belie his status as the state governor.
He has also demolished mosques out of sheer desire to eliminate all Islamic landmarks from Ekiti. So who is Fayose deceiving? The fact that he offered advice concerning who Muslims should vote for in the coming Ekiti 2018 election in his speech at the Id ground reveals Fayose’s real motive. But that is his undoing. Delivering a political speech in a serene atmosphere and on a sacred ground is sacrilegious.
Fayose has also politicized religion. Who are Fayose’s advisers for Allah’s sake? Or is it that he does not listen to them? It is most likely that he doesn’t listen to anyone. Like every bully, Fayose acts on instinct. He tries to think later though.
Fayose has abused the turban and arrogantly violated Islamic wardrobe etiquette. It is an insult for him to have so boldly dressed himself up like an Imam on Id ground. Only a titled Muslim leader or an Islamic scholar can dress like that. Fayose has failed to respect a major Islamic decorum.
Can any political leader put on a pastor’s cassock and clerical collar without causing uproar? Fayose has shown that he has no respect for Muslims or their religion.
He derides Ekiti Muslims yet he tries to con them to vote for his party. On a final and very serious note, we suggest that in view of our experience in the Third Republic, it has become necessary, from now onward, for the electorate to demand certificate of psychiatric examination from candidates seeking political offices.”
Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim who spends as much time as she spends in Ghana in Nigeria is donating a N1m to victims of Benue flood.
According to her, she will be donating N500k from her pocket and another N500k from Juliet Ibrahim Foundation. God bless her!

Waking up to news about so many natural disasters happening around the world has been extremely devastating. The most recent ones that struck me were ‘Hurricane Harvey’ in Houston Texas, the mudslide’s in Sierra Leone, and now the flooding in Makurdi.
Many families have lost everything, and even worse, many lives have been lost. I’ve once lived as a refugee, and I know what it means to work for something, and lose it all in the blink of an eye. Hence my decision today, to donate. A certain Adegboyega Adeyinka Khalid a 200-level student of the Ondo State University of science and technology, Okiti-Pupa has died.
According to his close friend, Olugbenro Afowobi. Yinka who while alive was studying Fisheries and Aquaculture said the late Khalid complained of mere neck pain before he was rushed to the hospital where he died

‘its really a terrible news. I still chatted with him on Facebook a few hours before they announced his death. Khalid was a very gentle guy, humble and respectful. He was my school son. As a matter of that the morning he died, he still called his friend, Oyetakin Wole and he was fine’.

The sudden passing has left her family shocked, especially because Ms. Disu was in good health during her birthday party, and only afterwards did she complain that she was not ‘feeling too well’. She was rushed to a private clinic in Lagos, where she sadly died.
In their statement, the members of Council, Management and Secretariat of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Of Nigeria, called her death ‘unfortunate’, while commiserating with her family.
They said:
“[The] unfortunate demise of a member of the Executive Committee of Council, Mrs Olanike Disu, FCTI which occurred today, September 4, 2017. She was the current Chairman of the 2018 Annual Tax Committee (ATC). She was also an Assistant Director with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) until her death. Some Nigerians have taken to social media to call out Dominos Pizza, after they all suffered severe diarrhea, after consuming their pizza.
The Lady Identified as Adaora Ikokwu, took to her Instagram to write;
“So I and a few people had pizza from the old dominos at Lekki phase 1 on Saturday and I have been having diarrhea and throwing up since then. I am currently receiving treatment.
I went to dominos pizza to lay a complaint with another victim and they acted so non-chalant, insisting that they didn’t receive any other complaints.
Another friend of mine also randomly mentioned that she had ordered pizza from the same place on Saturday and has been suffering from diarrhea.
They also refused to provide their “food handlers” test certification after I demanded saying it’s at their head office. Isn’t that supposed to be made available to clients upon demand?

Young Raymond Ekwu had died at the age of 15 on August 22 after a lifetime of sickle cell anemia.

Music Legend, 2Face Idibia who hails from Benue state has visited an internally displaced persons’ camp in Makurdi, his hometown today, 5th September.
The singer and his wife Annie Idibia arrived the camp in the morning and donated items to thousands of families who have been displaced because of the flood.
The ‘African Queen’ Crooner is scheduled to perform under the Benue Flood Relief Initiative.
There are presently 110,000 families in the IDP camp who have taken shelter there after the heavy rainfall two weeks ago. The torrential downpour created a huge flood and destroyed a lot of properties.

Some National Diploma (ND) students of the MAPOLY (Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) in Abeokuta, Ogun, have been apprehended by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos zonal office, and charged with conspiracy, obtaining money under false pretenses and possession of forged documents.
The arrested suspects who were living a flamboyant life linked to internet scam, forgery of financial instruments and lottery scam, include; Adesina Olalekan, Makinde Noheem, Toheeb Ogunowo, Somotun Olusola, Somotun Sodiq, Tajudeen Hafeez Bolaji and Kareem Olaseni, studying different courses in the institution.
The EFCC officers also arrested Iyun Ifeoluwa, Odusanwo Ibrahim, Obanijesu Opeyemi Soneye, Azeez Olayinka, Babatunde Ajala, Ojejimi Ademola, Aderowunmi Ayomide and Oluokun Oluwaseun following a petition received by the Commission about their activities.
Confessing to newsmen, 21-year-old Business Administration student, Olaseni said he created a Facebook account with the name Dean Robert, with which he interacted with his victims.
“I tell them (his victims) that they have won Facebook Lottery. I have people who receive the money sent by the victims. Then, the money is remitted into my personal accounts domiciled in GTBank and Skye Bank” he said.
A number of items, laptops, forged documents, and more were recovered from the suspects during their arrests. The suspects will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that the Federal government is planning on reintroducing Bicycle riding in the Federal Capital Territory of the country.
The Minister made this know as he spoke at the end of the 15th meeting of National Council on Transportation with the theme: ‘Efficiency of Inter-modality in Transportation: Panacea for Economic Recovery.” in Sokoto state yesterday Monday, September 4th.
“The National Council on Transportation is a policy making Council and we have approved that we should do a pilot project on bicycle riding in FCT because it is the only city that has facility for bicycle riding. We decided that we do it in Abuja because if you check, nearly all the roads in Abuja have lanes for bicycle. It is there in China and UK. It is an investment that would help reduce the number of passengers that are looking for modern form of transportation within the cities. Other states that want to do it must provide facility before they can proceed because we want to separate cyclists from the roads and some motorists can be very impatient with them. So states that want to go ahead can do that. But they must provide lanes for bicycle so that we don’t have numerous accidents.” he said

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has declared that undergraduates of Agriculture institutions must show their farms before they are allowed to graduate.
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh recently during a meeting with the representatives of the three institutions in Abuja said that henceforth all students of the institutions must be ready to contribute to the economic recovery plan of the present administration through diversification into agriculture, and must develop and own a farm before graduation.
He said:
“Now all undergraduates of the institutions must have a farm to qualify them for graduation. We do not forbid the teaching of electives like some accounting, business administration and so on, but only as subsidiaries.
“The main courses must be agriculture, agronomy, botany, animal husbandry, forestry, fishery, plant entomology, breeding, cattle breed improvement, agric engineering, veterinary medicine”
He said that the government is now trying to use academics to solve the problem of food security and will do that through innovations that are expected to come from these institutions.
“There may be an immediate reaction to the innovations we are bringing to bear on your campuses. For example, you may experience a sharp drop in admission. We know many of our younger ones are not too keen on agriculture. It is not attractive enough, they claim. Do not worry about this, and other distractions.
“Attitudes will change because, undoubtedly, agriculture is a profitable business to those who choose the path of patience and endurance. They will come running once they see the prosperity and fulfillment in those who dare to try.
The Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspects over the assassination of Hector Oluwaseun Jobarteh, winner of the 2006 Gulder Ultimate Search, GUS, reality TV, Season 3, last Sunday.
Hector Jobarteh who just returned to Nigeria in July, after his wife moved to New Jersey to have their second baby, was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence in New Oko-Oba, area of Lagos State.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, yesterday, said three persons are have bee arrested and currently being interrogated over the assassination of Jobarteh, who was reportedly trailed to his house and shot dead.
Edgal said:
“Some yet-to-be identified hoodlums, pretending to be friends of the deceased, gained access into the apartment of Hector Jobarteh, 38, in the presence of his brother, one Victor Joberteh, at 8, Olufowora Close, New Oke-Oba.
“They shot the said Hector on the chest without any dialogue and fled from the scene.
“The Divisional Police Officer and a team of policemen quickly rushed to the scene after a distress call and the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died. “Nothing was removed from his house.
The corpse was taken to Orile/Agege Hospital morgue for autopsy. Enquiries carried out from neighbours revealed that the deceased may have been a victim of business transaction that went sour.
“To us, this is a clear case of murder and all angles are being investigated.
I want to use this opportunity to assure the family and indeed, Lagosians that the police will use every asset at its disposal to ensure that perpetrators of this heinous act are not only brought to book, but diligently prosecuted.”
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State has assured Nigerians of his continous commitment and promises to serving the nation.
He attributed his recent convalescence to a divine act of the almighty God.
Receiving associations of farmers, businessmen, youths, elders and politicians from Katsina at his country home earlier today, President Buhari said he returned to the country with renewed hope and strength to pursue policies that will improve the livelihood of the people, and reposition Nigeria for good.
“Considering the challenges we are facing as a nation, we have been doing our best to provide sustainable solutions, and we will keep doing our best. I am happy you came here today, and I am thankful for all the prayers. You are leaders of various groups at the grass root, and you are closer to the people so you understand these problems as well. We need your support,’’ he said.
In his remarks, the leader of the group of associations, Zannan-Daura, Alhaji Sani Ahmed Daura, said the President’s return signaled God’s interest in turning around the fortunes of the country.
“On behalf of all the elders here, we are grateful to God you returned alive, and in good health,’’ he said.
Daura, a former Assistant Inspector General of Police, said the President’s life of patience, endurance and contentment was exemplary, praying that God would give him more strength and wisdom to lead the country.
Earlier, President Buhari received the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman and his entourage.
