Musa Kisakye, a bicycle taxi rider from Makata, Nakisunga Sub-country, Mukono District has been reported to have angrily slashed the throat of his wife because of his unwillingness to leave her go further study in the US.
Ms Olivia Nangonzi had been enrolled by her parents to study nursing in the US but the husband was not ready to study outside his sight.
Nangonzi also claimed that the husband also cut his own neck thinking he had murdered her. Musa is still in critical condition at Kawolo Hospital.
Nangonzi, who is receiving treatment from the Namirembe Hospital in Mukono town relayed this to journalists saying:
“He thought he had killed me. Actually, I was too weak and I could not scream. That’s when he also cut himself in his neck.”
She continued: “I was preparing to set off to America this very week. Unfortunately, my husband wanted to kill me claiming that he wanted me to (stay) at home without upgrading (my skills).”
Mr Rogers Seguya, the Mukono Police District commander, said if Kisakye recovers, he would be charged with attempted murder.
The couple were said to have been married since three years ago and are with one child.

While speaking to NTA news after the visit of seven governors to the President in London, Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, last night described the recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari as “a miracle” giving reports on his health in the social media, The Nation Reports.
He said the social media portrayed the President’s health as “bad”.
He said:
“Buhari walked without support to receive us and he took time to exchange pleasantries with each one of us. We also had a group photograph.”
“His voice was the usual intonation and he has no speech inhibition in whatsoever manner. He was overwhelmed by our visit.
“He told us that he is ready to come back to his desk once clearance is given by his doctors.
“We compared notes on the state of the nation and the tasks ahead.
“The signs of recovery were visible but not overwhelming on him. He was looking healthier than when he came back the last time. Buhari is back to life.”
Another governor in the delegation said the President cracked jokes with the delegation without any speech inhibition.
Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano also expressed delight over the President’s better health condition shortly after he and six other governors met with him.
The governors who were selected to represent the six geo-political zones were led by Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara who is the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.
They met with the president on Wednesday, July 26 in London where he has been for more than 60 days on medical treatment.

“From what we are hearing, we see that Mr President is in a much better condition. We were very happy to see him. He came out personally to shake hands with us and went back and sat down.

Dear Nigerian graduates, it is not by pouring water
I’ve been a Nigerian since I was born and I know how we sometimes behave like we’re sick in the head.
Honestly, I have been trying to understand the rationale behind this pouring water thing after your final paper. What are the benefits economically, financially, intellectually and other wise?
I don’t know who came up with this ritual and I find it really exhausting.
Celebration? Of what exactly?
You know, sometimes, I talk and people say God forbid snapping their fingers towards my direction.
I laugh and pray for them because they are in a long distance relationship with reality.
Celebrating your graduation with pouring water and the extra madness that comes with it shows how we are not well.
When I graduated from a college of education, did I pour water?
Yes I did.
Why?
Because I was mad at the time.
Listen, celebrating your graduation is fine but see it as cleaning your shoes on a foot mat before walking into a sand dune. Or washing your hands before you sweep your compound.
See how pointless it is?
The politicians who should be threatened that a new crop of smart chaps are coming out of schools will see you people trending on social media with water all over you and laugh.
Why? That is all shade of not being serious.
There are no jobs in place for you people. You will go to those smelly NYSC camps and fall sick. They will owe you 19 thousand that you can easily get by playing few odds with 3k. They will frustrate you.
From punishment to punishment.
After the punishment of being Nigerian, you go through the punishment of going to a Nigerian school, then again, you go through a euphemized punishment titled NYSC.
Finally, the real punishment comes when jobs see you and run away because you don’t want to sleep with the interview people or you don’t have money to secure the job.
You know what? Many people will shout God forbid from semester to semester and yet nothing happened.
You graduated from school but nothing graduated inside you and you have the hand to pour water?
Pray karma doesn’t kick you on the balls.
To the new graduates, I wish you people well. But, be ready for reality.
You think you can pour water?
Pray reality doesn’t drench you with the slimy liquid of frustration.

At least five lives have been reported to be lost as a result of four-storey building collapse yesterday, July 25.
According to report from THE Guardian Newspaper, the collapse of the hosue owned by the well-known Kafo Family has claimed lives of people leaving some others yet trapped in spite of the heavy rainfall leading to the crackdown.
The event happened at around 2:30pm yesterday.
The Director of Lagos State Fire Service,Rasak Fadipe, affirmed that apart from those rescued, efforts were still ongoing to rescue dozens who were under the debris.
The cause of the collapse could not be immediately ascertained as rescue operators among whom were officials of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency [LASEMA], Lagos State Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency [NEMA], Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, the Red Cross and the Lagos State Ambulance Service [LASAMBUS], as well as police officers, have been coordinating the rescue operations.
Adeosun Akinfisoye,a local resident claimed the collapse happened with no prior sign.
“We heard an explosion which caused everyone to take to his heels, only to discover later that it was a building that collapsed. People are still buried inside. A pregnant woman is among those under the debris”, she noted.
An Ebonyi sate-based General overseer of King of Kings Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Emmanuel Chukwudi has made a strong prophecy that the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari will not return to Nigeria as the President and the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will be sworn-in the President in his stead in the midst of fiery oppositions.
Prophet Chukwudi also revealed that come next election in 2019, the former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar will emerge as the President of Nigeria.

A Nigerian, Joachim Iroko who was arrested in August, 2016 for naming his dog Buhari was just freed of all charges yesterday at the Magistrate Court sitted in Sango, Ogun state.
Haliru Umar from Sokoto State, neighbour of Mr. Iroki, accused that Mr. Iroko of breaching peace and having harmful motive for naming his dog the name ‘Buhari’ believed to be referred to the President of Nigeria.
Magistrate O. O. Adebo however nullifed the case claiming the prosecutor failed to substantiate his case against Joachim Iroko and consequently struck out all charges preferred against him.
The arrest of Mr. Iroko sparked nationwide outrage in August 2016 and critics accused the police of stifling constitutionally guaranteed freedom.
The presidency also reacted to the arrest when Presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said the president paid more attention to cartoon pages in the newspapers rather than following Mr. Iroko’s case that was generating nationwide furore at the time.
In ecstatic mood, the discharged and acquainted Joachim Iroko expressed gratitude for the support throughout his times of trials.
“I would like to thank specially, Vanguard Newspaper for blowing the case open and human rights lawyer, Ebun Adegborowa that came to my rescue” he stated.
A sex worker, Beauty Tagbami has been alleged to have injured her colleague’s face have over rivalry for hawking space.
Tagbami facing trials before the Magistrate Court in Ebute Metta, Lagos on two counts of unlawful assault and assault causing bodily harm was said to have engaged in a physical combat with Tope Olayinka using razor blade and scissor on the later’s face for her persistent intrusion in Tagbami’s hawking space to parade self for customers.
The Prosecutor. Inspector Cousin Adams said this before the Magistrate court.
“Tagbami had warned Olayinka not to encroach on her space where she parades herself for customers and this led to fight between them”, the Police reported.
The offences contravened Sections 172 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe, admitted the accused to a N50, 000 bail with two responsible sureties in like sum.
She adjourned further hearing in the case until Aug. 28.
As the Nigeria Police Force attempts to rebuild its image, three police officers of the Lagos State Command have been dismissed.
The action was taken in a case of illegal arrest and extortion reported three weeks ago by an unnamed Nigerian using the popular social-messaging service, WhatsApp.
A statement by Assistant Commissioner Of Police of the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU) in Abuja, Abayomi Shogunle, said the dismissal followed an internal trial at which the men were found guilty, under the Police Act, of corrupt practices and discreditable conduct.
In a major image-makeover effort, the PCRRU is sending to the public such messages as:
“Remember, Bail is Free, PCRRU says NO TO IMPUNITY and our quick response will put a smile on your face.”
The dismissed officers are: Inspector Okelue Nkemeonye, Sgt. Braimoh Sunday and Sgt. Yusuf Olukoga, met their fate after the complaint was filed on June 21.
Their lead officer, ASP Bayo Obadiah, received an official query and his case is being sorted out.
In his message to the PCRRU, the complainant told the horrendous story of how he was abducted by a team of policemen that morning as he came out of a bank to transact business.
Held all day until about 6 p.m., not only was he beaten by the policemen, they used his ATM to withdraw money from his account, and transferred money into another account provided by one of them.
According to ACP Shogunle:
“Upon the receipt of the complaint, a case with Tracking Number PCRRU637624 was registered and acknowledgment of complaint sent to the complainant. PCRRU Investigation team was dispatched to Ikorodu where all the three dismissed policemen including AP No. 98199 ASP Bayo Obadia who led the team were apprehended. PCRRU preliminary investigation reveals that all the allegations contained in the WhatsApp message actually happened.”
In addition, he said the four police officers who were armed on the day of the incident had falsely paraded themselves as operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) despite not being posted to SARS by police authorities.
Investigation also showed that the officers extorted a total sum of N200,000 from the young men whom they tagged “Yahoo Yahoo Boys,” the money forcibly taken from them via a N90,000 ATM withdrawal and another N110,000 mobile bank money transfer to a third-party account provided by the policemen, ACP Shogunle continued, adding the extorted N200,000 was recovered by the PCRRU Investigators.
He said:
“All the arrested officers, witnesses and recovered exhibits including the N200,000 cash and printed bank statement of account were handed over to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Lagos for further detailed investigation and necessary disciplinary measures,”
“The approval of the punishment of dismissal from service as recommended by the Adjudicating officer is part of the outcome of the disciplinary measures.”
With reference to ASP Bayo Obadiah “who led the team of the infamous men on this unacceptable conduct,” he pointed out that an official query was issued to him by the AIG Zone 2 Lagos, and that both his reply and that query have been forwarded to the office of the Force Secretary in Abuja from where it will go to the Police Service Commission as required by Police Regulations.
Shogunle said:
“The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, has commended the complainant for coming forward to report the incident to PCRRU, the IGP has also said that all allegations of professional misconduct reported against any police officer would be treated in line with relevant laws and in keeping to the ‘Change Begins With Me Campaign’ of the Federal Government,” .
He encouraged the public to report cases of police misconduct to the PCRRU for resolution, stressing that the IGP Idris led administration is bent on ensuring a more public friendly and corrupt free police force in Nigeria.
The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 14-year-old wife, Aisha Isah, from Lifari Village in the Mashegu Local Government Area of the state for allegedly killing her 40-year-old husband, Isiaka Usman.
It was learnt that the suspect and the late Usman, to whom she got married to five months ago, were cousins.
Northern City News gathered that Isah had been complaining of starvation and maltreatment since she started living with Usman, who already had two wives.
One of the two wives was said to have left on account of the failure of Usman to meet up with his responsibilities to his family.
The teenage wife said on Tuesday that her late husband failed to provide for her for two days.
She said:
“And when I confronted him, he slapped me and out of anger, I hit him on the forehead with a pestle and he collapsed and died,”
“My husband had the habit of not giving us money for food and each time we (the wives) confront him, he would tell us to go to our parents’ home and eat.
He never cared about us; he beat us every time we demanded money for food.”
Asked if the other wife was at home at the time of the incident, she stated that the other wife went to the hospital with her baby.
“My mate was not around; it was only me and my late husband that were in the house at the time of the incident. I picked a pestle and hit him, he fell on the ground and I ran to my mother’s house at Kahigu Village in Mashegu council,”
She also said that she inadvertently killed her husband out of anger and pleaded for forgiveness.
“I am sorry for what happened, it is the devil’s work and I pray my parents will forgive me; I never knew that he would die, I regretted all my actions,”
The police spokesman, Bala Elkana, explained that the victim died at Mashegu Hospital where he was taken for treatment.
Elkana described the incident as unfortunate, but added that the suspect would nevertheless be prosecuted as a juvenile offender

A 39-year-old Nigerian, Marvyn Iheanacho has earned himself a jail term of life imprisonment at the Woolwich Crown Court in London for beating his girlfriend’s five-year-old son to death in a British park for losing one of his worn shoes
According to the report filed before the Court by the Police, Iheanacho was said to have angrily beaten Alex Malcolm, a five-year-old boy for misplacing his shoes at the London park on Nov. 20, 2016.
As presented by the Police upon witnesses’ stories, here is the narrataion of the assault on the young lad that led to imprisonment for Iheanacho:
“The child sustained a deadly brain injury and internal bruising to his stomach; a post-mortem examination concluded this had been caused by a kick, stamp or punch.
“Iheanacho was later seen talking on his phone while a child lay on his back on a bench next to him, a limp arm dangling down.
“Rather than taking the boy to a nearby hospital, only five-minute’ walk away, Iheanacho took him home in a taxi, where he attacked the boy’s mother, Lilya Breha, when she tried to call an ambulance.’’
“Iheanacho subjected that poor little boy to a brutal assault after flying into an uncontrollable rage just because Alex lost one of his shoes.
“Afterwards, Iheanacho came up with various stories to try to cover his tracks, insisted his girlfriend lied to him, and attacked her when she tried to get medical help for her unconscious son”, the Police stated.
Aside, the lost pair of shoe was later found at the park by the Police although the boy died two days after reaching hospital.

According to Bobrisky who addressed his haters and those wondering how and where he makes his money from, he said he makes $800 dollars daily from sales of his cream which amounts to $24,000 monthly and $288,000 per annum.
With the currently Dollar to Naira exchange rate at around #315, then Bonrisky has just said he makes over 90Million naira annually.

A lady who got pregnant and was abandoned to her fate for almost two years due to a fight she had with the man who got her pregnant, has been reunited with him.
The Nigeria man who got the lady pregnant was located by members of Emmanuel Ugwuonye’s NGO, Due Process Advocates, after they heard her story and here’s what the group posted on their page;
“This man got this woman pregnant. They quarreled and broke up. The woman went on her own and had her baby. The man went only his own forgot he got somebody pregnant. They two lost contact and never met again. Then a DPA member met the woman struggling to stay alive from hunger with her nearly two-year old child. The DPA member began to ask questions. Today, Hon Joy Buz led DPA to this reunion. Rather, mother and child, we brought together”.
