A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Beetle Aircraft crashed in Kaduna today while on a mission. The only individual on board the aircraft, one of the NAF’s experienced instructor pilots, was unfortunately lost during the mishap.
A statement released by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigeria Air Force, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adekoya, states that the cause of the accident is unbeknownst but the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) has immediately directed the constitution of a board of inquiry to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crash.
The statement noted that the unfortunate incident is a tragic reminder of the hazards associated with the flying profession. Adesanya said the CAS and the entire NAF family commiserate with the relatives of the late instructor pilot.

Following the story of murdered 8 year old girl, Victory Chikamso, further investigation into the murder case took a new turn this morning, as the man who allegedly asked Dike (who still is on the run following his escape from detention) to get human body parts so they can use it for money ritual, was apprehended by officers of the Rivers state police command this morning.
In an interview with Channels TV this morning, the state commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, disclosed,
“I’m delighted to inform you that the second suspect who the principal suspect alleged asked him to get those parts has been arrested this morning (Thursday). There are two of them. The principal suspect when he was arrested, he confessed to committing the crime and he mentioned that someone asked him to get some parts of a human being for them to make money.
So that person has been arrested this morning. I strongly suspect that this person we have arrested is involved in the crime. The boy gave his name and gave his number and he mentioned that this is the person who asked him to get these human parts that they are going to make money” he said
The police boss said his men are working towards getting him Dike rearrested, after his escape on Sunday night.

Some weeks to her wedding, 38-year-old bride-to-be Nompumelelo Ngubane, received threatening calls and WhatsApp messages which reads: “Cancel the wedding or die”
On Friday, August 18, the eve of her wedding day, Ngubane’s body was found in her car at KwaPata, in Peietermaritzburg, South Africa.
Her family believe she had been strangled to death and police are investigating a case of murder.
Plessislaer police station spokesperson Captain Musa Ntombela, who confirmed the incident said they are investigating a case of murder and that no arrests have been made yet.
The mother of two and a nurse at Edendale hospital, is believed to have left home on Friday morning to go to a hair salon and to fetch her wedding gown in the CBD. She was due to get married on Saturday, August 19, at the Golden Horse Casino.
Speaking to The Witness, her grieving mother Ntombifikile said she had last spoken to her daughter at around 8.30 am on Friday.
“She left home very early to go and do her hair and also fetch her wedding gown from the boutique in town. She told me she was not going to be gone for long.”
When Ngubane did not return home by 5 pm that day, her family started getting concerned.
“We tried to reach her on her cellphone but it was off. One of her brothers said he had last communicated with her on WhatsApp at around 1.40 pm that day.”
Ntombifikile said they later learned that Ngubane did not arrive at the boutique to fetch her dress as per the arrangement. Her body was found slumped in the passenger seat of her car at around 7 pm on Friday in the KwaPata area in Edendale.
According to her family, there was a belt around her neck, suggesting she had been strangled and her face was covered with her head scarf.
Her handbag and her wallet and cellphone were also missing. Her car was seen by locals on the side of the road from around 2 pm that day but they did not realise that a body was in the vehicle.
One of her relatives who lives in KwaPata said that Ngubane was missing and she later found out that the car had been spotted in the area.
“Most locals who had seen her car in the area thought she was there to visit the relative. Passers-by could not see there was a person in the car because both the front seats were lowered.”
Ntombifikile said after searching for her daughter for hours, the relative told her that her daughter’s car was parked in KwaPata.
“We asked the relative to go to the car and see if Nompumelelo was there.” The relative then discovered her body.
“She saw her inside the car and thought she may have fallen asleep. She knocked on the window but there was no response. She then opened the door and shook her but she did not respond.”
Police and paramedics were called in and they declared Ngubane dead at the scene. Ntombifikile said weeks before her wedding, her daughter had received numerous threats telling her to cancel the nuptials.
“She received numerous threatening calls and WhatsApp messages for her to cancel her wedding. A few weeks before the wedding, we found a letter that was slipped under the front door and the letter told her to “cancel the wedding or die”.
“I feared for her life and I tried to get her to postpone the wedding but she refused and assured me that nothing would happen.”
Ntombifikile described her daughter as a loving and kind person who loved her children.
“We are all still very shocked. She was very excited — as we all were and looking forward to her wedding day. It was all she spoke about in the past few weeks. It is heartbreaking that we are now making preparations for her funeral.”
Ngubane will be buried on Saturday, August 24.

A list of proscribed ailments, including having a scar or a fungal infection was released by the FARS news agency.
Anyone who is cross-eyed, has ugly facial moles or skin conditions such as acne or eczema faces redundancy. Women who have facial hair will also be sacked, along with teachers with fewer than 20 teeth or those suffering a fungal infection.
Women are allowed to teach in Iran although they must wear a scarf covering their hair.
Art teachers will be sacked if they report they are colourblind and infertile female teachers will also be banned from the classroom.

It wasn’t a lucky day for an unidentified man in Umuonyeashi, Nsokpo Ogbaku in Mbaitolu LGA of Imo state, who has been arrested after a lady he captured and planned to use for rituals escaped.
Reports online reveal that the man stabbed the lady several times before she was able to escape to a nearby house where she got help.
Youths of the community mobilized themselves and searched for the man inside the bush where he was hiding.
Some hours later, they caught him and handed him over to the police.

The Russian ambassador to Sudan, Mirgayas Shirinskiy, was reportedly found dead in his swimming pool on Wednesday at his home in Khartoum, Sudan’s capital city, becoming Russia’s fourth envoy to die in the last eight months while overseas.
The Sudan Foreign Ministry did not provide his cause of death.
A police official, Omar al-Mokhtar, told AFP that there appeared to be no “foul play.”

A policeman, Abraham Arowogun, attached to the Kajola Police Station, Kajola town, in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has committed suicide by jumping into a deep well in the station.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, was mysterious to other police officers in the division as well as members of the community.
A police source told PUNCH Metro that Arowogun did not have any history of mental instability.
According to the source, the deceased inspector had first shot dead the Divisional Crime Office, SP Timothy Aruehi, after they had a disagreement over money.
Our correspondent gathered that Aruehi had received a complaint that Arowogun, while investigating a case, diverted a sum of money to private use.
The Source said:
“Arowogun was investigating a case and the DCO discovered that a sum of N150,000 was involved. He further discovered that he (Arowogun) had actually converted the money to private use.
“The DCO called and querried him for the action.
“In the course of interrogating him, he stormed out angrily. He returned with a gun which he used to shoot Aruehi dead.”
The police source added that after killing the DCO, there was confusion in the station as other officers fled for safety.
“After killing the DCO, he knew that what he did was unprofessional and unpardonable in the police force. He just left the scene and jumped into the well at the back of the station,
The corpses of the two policemen were said to have been deposited in a mortuary in the Ondo State General Hospital, Ore.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation had commenced.
He said:
“It was an unfortunate incident; but we have begun investigation. The command is very saddened and our hearts are heavy. We are doing everything possible to dig further into the matter and talk to our officers and men to avert a recurrence,”

People have reacted to her post with most blasting her for putting her unborn baby in such a position… But others know she just wants to get attention…
What’s more is that even her baby daddy was unaware that she’s pregnant for him… he then confronted her on the platform, then things got heated between them and she even threatened him that she’ll kill the baby.

A former female staff of Fidelity Bank Plc, identified as Adenike Okuneye, has been dragged before a Lagos Magistrate Court by The management of Fidelity Bank Plc, Lagos for reportedly parading herself as a staff of Fidelity Bank after she had been sacked.
She is also being accused of wearing the T-Shirt bearing the bank and collecting money from customers of the bank with the pretext of saving it for them in the bank, but instead converted same to her use.
The 31-year-old suspect was arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court, Lagos on a 3-count charge of felony to wit and stealing.
The accused allegedly committed the offence between March and August, 2017.
Nemesis caught up with her when one of the aggrieved customers of the bank who knew that she was no longer with the bank reported her, leading to her arrest.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the alleged crime in the open court and Magistrate S.K Matepo granted her bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The Late Igbo leader, Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu’s son, Emeka Ojukwu Jnr., has revealed that his late father told President Buhari that he would want one indissoluble Nigeria.
Ojukwu, who made this known on Wednesday said his father told him about his discussion with Buhari, and denied claim by some pro-Biafran groups that he was in support of the agitation for Biafra.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, Anambra State, Ojukwu said:
“It has been brought to my attention that there is an article making the rounds on social media attributed to me refuting the remarks of Mr. President concerning his relationship and discussion with my late father.
Let me state the following categorically: firstly, that I made no such comments to anybody, and secondly that I am aware that His Excellency’s (Buhari’s) comments were indeed factual.
I have noticed a disturbing trend recently of fake news being attributed to me on social media. I don’t know who is behind it or what their motive might be, but let me assure you that any time I feel the need to comment publicly on any matter, I will not do so via some anonymous email or anything of the like; rather be rest assured that there will be no ambiguity whatsoever as to whether the comments came from me.” .
