Injured victims lie on the floor awaiting medical attention as beds were no longer available at a Maiduguri hospital in northeastern Nigeria.

Three women suicide bombers blew themselves up at the entrance to a camp for Internally displaced people in northeast Nigeria on Tuesday, killing 28 people and wounding 82.

The attack which is the latest in a string of assaults in the troubled region took place in the town of Mandarari, 25 kilometres (15 miles) from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, said Baba Kura, a member of a vigilante force set up to fight jihadists.

The head of a local anti-jihadist militia force, Ibrahim Liman, confirmed the details of the attack, and said that more than 80 injured had been taken to Maiduguri hospital.

An eye witness, Kura, said the first assailant blew herself up, triggering panic.

He said:

“Three female bombers triggered their explosive outside of the IDP (internally displaced persons) camp… killing 28 people and wounding 82 others,” Kura said.

“People were trying to close their shops when two other female bombers triggered their explosives, causing most of the casualties,”.

The internet earlier this week was awash with the strange death of a lady in one of the lodges at Ifite Awka, Anambra State where majority of the students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka reside.

The deceased body trapped inside her room, was found already decomposing in what seemed like an electric shock as her unclad body was seen close to one of the power source in her room.

According to the Director of Public Relations of the University, Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, preliminary investigations revealed the true identity of the deceased. Her name was given as Crystal Ogbunando and a native of Nimo. We are trying to get her pictures.

According to Ojukwu, further investigations revealed that “the deceased was a Pharmacy graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and had just completed her internship at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Teaching Hospital, Awka.”

According to a lodge mate, her whereabouts became suspicious after several days of absence which led the lodge mates to besiege the room which had already become a centre of attraction for big flies. The occasional smell that oozed out of the room made lodge mates to force the door open and got the shocker of their lives.

The Nigerian Air Force has sentenced to death by hanging Airman Kalu Bernard, for killing his lover, Solape Oladipupo on March 12, 2017.

The 21-year-old was found guilty of six out of eight count charges which included murder, house breaking, impersonation, attempted murder.

Yesterday August, 15th, the President of the court, Gp. Capt. Elisha Bindul sentenced him to death by hanging, subject to the confirmation of the conveying authority.

The defence counsel, Abimiku Ewuga who had earlier begged the court to temper justice with mercy, saying the accused was his family breadwinner,later told reporters that he would appeal the judgement.

Kalu had on March 12, 2017, killed his lover Oladipupo at her Corporal and Below Quarters, Compound 9, Air Force Base, Makurdi, after he suspected her of having an affair.

A Twitter user, @iamTROL is claiming that men of the Oyo State Joint Security Task Force, code-named “operation burst” allegedly ordered that a lady be sexually assaulted as punishment for dressing indecently on Tuesday.

The group, made up of policemen, soldiers Air Force personnel, SSS, and NSCDC, was re-launched on August 4th, by Governor Abiola Ajumobi to curb crimes in the state.

However, they are notorious for beating innocent civilians who they think are improperly dressed.

A 2011 report by The Nation said that girls and women who wear trousers or short dresses were harassed by the personnel. Men who wear earrings, dreadlocks and Afro hairstyles are beaten up.

Now iamTROL is claiming these guys ordered that a Lady’s breast be sucked after she was spotted dressing indecently.

The Federal Government has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off its ongoing strike in the interest of Nigerians.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, made the appeal on Tuesday, August 15, in a statement.

ASUU commenced an indefinite strike on Monday over alleged FG’s breach of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the 2009 FG/ASUU Agreement on financing of state universities; breach of the conditions of service; refusing to honour the Earned Academic Allowance (EAA) and re-negotiation of the agreement.

But Ngige blamed ASUU for not following due process before commencing on the indefinite strike.

He said the Union was supposed to give the Federal Government the mandatory 15 days’ notice as contained in Section 41 of Trade Disputes Act, Cap T8, 2004.

“In fact, it was on Monday, August 14, 2017, that the office of the minister received a letter dated August 13, 2017, from ASUU, that is, one full day after it commenced the strike,” the Minister said.

He said ASUU’s letter was to inform the Federal Government that it had started a strike instead of a declaration of intention to go on a strike as contained in the Trade Dispute Act, 2004.

“The Federal Government, therefore, wishes to appeal to ASUU to consider the students who are currently writing degree and promotion examinations, to call off the strike and return to the negotiation table.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment will ensure that a time-frame will be tied to the negotiation this time around,” the minister said.

He added that the action was against the spirit of social dialogue and Collective Bargaining Agreement for ASUU to embark on a strike despite an ongoing negotiation.

Just when we thought we’ve seen it all. Early this morning, a cab driver and a gay passenger were spotted in a heated argument with each other opposite a total filling station in Wuse, Zone 4, around Febson Hotel in Abuja.

According to a report by OakTv, the gay passenger usually dresses and move around as a lady especially at night in a bid to make both ends meet.

According to him, he said this is his business;” I dey f*ck for y*nsh, then they f*ck me for y*nsh, Na man I be, Na my business, I no dey shame”.

The cab driver, who simply identifies himself as Israel said “the guy stopped me, he told me I should take him to heritage and we agreed on N500 for the fare. Later he said he wanted to sit in the front and I allowed him.At the front, he started touching me, he said everywhere dry, make I go feel you?

I agreed to go with him to Zone 4, unknown to him I already knew he is a man. When we got to zone 4, he wanted to run then I grabbed him and he bit me in return.”

Their uproar attracted huge passersby that decided to intervene in the subject matter.

Getting to discover what transpired between them, the angry crowd unleashed severe terror on him before the Nigerian Police came to rescue him.

According to Israel, while he was been hauled away, “He (gay passenger) talk say no minister wey no know am, say na only call I go make then go leave”
